Hubbie and I have eaten here about 5 times and we consistently have received good service and food. Love the burger and beverage options. Favorite is the Wellington so far. Not cheap and not fancy but good eats in our book.

I hate giving one star. I feel like someone who probably can’t be pleased. I got the Groupon lobster roll special. $ 16 bucks for the roll, fries, soda or shake. The roll was longer than most in this area and there was a decent even good amount of lobster meat. However, I didn’t taste any butter. I don’t know if it was the roll, but there appeared to be some kind of sweet sauce on the roll.(I took off the head of lettuce.) It tasted strange. Maybe if I was able to drizzle butter on it, it would be better, but I was hospitalized(under a clear, liquids only diet). — Anyway, I got an ice pack to keep it on ice, but after a couple of hours, it smelled so fishy! I had the nurse discard it, telling her he left it there. I really wanted to like that place too. Maybe there burgers are better. Not sure I’ll go back though.

First and last time I eat anything from here. I had the Burger with Onion rings. The onion rings were over done, greasy and hard, just not good. The burger had no flavor. For 20 bucks it was pretty dissapointing. How this place has any stars is beyond me.

Mediocre at best. If I pay $ 15 for burger fries and soda I expect it to taste like it was homemade. Overpriced for mediocre eats. Turkey burger seems to be more mushroom than meat. Fries were mostly overcooked.

Hi! Are you Über?! I was asked. Not, hi! How are you today? Can I take your order? Oook. I guess they noticed that I was displeased with the initial interactions and so instead of making up for their error they served my burger with cold buns. Food didn’t have the same taste after that.

Yah… The prices are a bit steep. $ 28 for two burgers and two sets of fries? Seems like a crime. Good thing I didn’t get two sodas or a beer. 3 stars: burger was great, sweet potato fries were delicious. Garlic fries questionable: those steak fries have nothing special about them. In the end, I just thought I paid too much for this meal.

Chicken is good. The only reason why I’m giving them 2 stars that because they got my order wrong. They put BBQ sauce instead of the hot sause and when I told them they said this is the hot sauce you ordered. I ended up by taking the BBQ sauce by myself

Have to downgrade my review. They got my order wrong… Twice. I ultimately ate the second wrong order because I was starving. It was torturous! But everyone was nice.

Great no-frills burger spot. I like adding the fried egg. My gf always gets the Wellington. They always have some solid beers on tap. Milkshakes and YUGE cookies for desert: D

Good solid burger that hits the mark when you gotta get one. The single is plenty of just a little small but the double is huge. It’s pretty juicy and the bun does take the abuse and will start to fall apart. Fries were nothing special but good accompany to the star. The garlic fries were that great. Still would put 5 guys higher but this can join the burger rotation.

No idea how this place has 3 stars. Mind = blown. For 20 bucks, you can get a sub-par burger(if you’re lucky, they’ll get your order right on the 1st try), a beer, and a side of fries. Simply put, this place is bad. You’re better off going to a Wendy’s or Carl’s Jr to satisfy your burger craving. And that’s not sarcasm — I’m completely serious. A solid brew selection is the only thing differentiating BGR from your average fast food restaurant. I could give a few thoughts on the service, etc, but just know that it’s just as bad. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I love their black bean & rice vegetarian burger with sweet potato fries. If I’m feeling extra healthy, I switch it up for asparagus(ok, I’ve only felt healthy once in over 10 visits). My better half likes the traditional flame-grilled beef burgers and rates them just under Shake Shack. Did I mention they have Dr. Pepper as fountain drink? Nothing better than mindlessly singing along to David Bowie and enjoying a burger and fries. The staff is first rate and I’ve never had my order messed up. The food is consistently good and served hot although there is some grease(this is burger and fries after all). The eating area is acceptably clean. There are two tables just outside the restaurant that are first come first serve(I love taking my vegetarian burger al fresco when then weather is nice — sans any smoking nearby).

I’ve seen multiple locations around town but never have gotten a chance to eat at the burger joint until recently! I thought it was going to be your typical burger place with mediocre burgers however, I ended up being pleasantly surprised! I ordered the California burger with sweet potato fries. Once my meal came out I could tell that it was made with good ingredients by how it looked and tasted! Sometimes I don’t like how people make sweet potato fries but the burger joint did them just right! Not too crispy or soggy and they had malt vinegar that I poured all over them… Yum! The service here was average, the lady who was working the cash register seemed less than thrilled to be assisting me, but what can you do. If you’re in the area I highly suggest checking out the burger joint!

As a first-time visitor, I found the cashier who took my order to be exceptionally friendly and enthusiastic. He and the other employees gladly offered their suggestions. I went with the«Triple D» and admittedly I was pleasantly surprised. The meat was high quality(grass fed, no added hormones, etc) and the taste reflected that. The fried egg was fried to perfection(no rubbery, burned egg). The jalapeños were sliced long-ways rather than in the typical coin fashion which I thought made the burger extra hot and found to be a nice touch. The sesame bun was fresh and complimented the size of the patty. My only complaint is the price. Although I did enjoy the burger, the price I paid for it(~$ 12) was too high in my opinion. Had I gotten fries and/or a beverage I would have paid around $ 20 which I believe much too high a price for a laid back«burger joint.» I do plan to return. I already look forward to trying«The Wellington.»

A little surprised to only see 3 stars for this place, absolutely deserves more. Burgers nowadays have been so saturated, that people forgot what a real good burger tastes like; well, let me break it down for you-ITS SUPPOSEDTOBEJUSTLIKETHISPLACE. For starters, it’s open flame, which gives the party THAT much more flavoring, and my go to is always the Wellington, ITSPHENOMENAL! Staff are friendly, and the manager there(zack) is extremely professional and very hospitable. Kudos to corporate for hiring him.

The crew working last night – Syd, Pat, Alfa, and Jiri – are the bomb. I came in a few minutes after closing time, but they were still nice enough to make me the milkshakes that I had been craving all day. The shakes were rich and creamy, and Syd even threw some whipped cream on top. Killed it. My friend said his vanilla shake was on point, while I got the special flavor of the month, apple pie, which proved delicious. These folks didn’t have to make me my milkshakes, but they did anyways. Such friendly and generous service easily made my night, and I’m still feeling the love today. This location has earned itself a new regular.

** REVIEWFORDELIVERYONLY!!! ** I have to say, for delivery, this is an ammmazing option! Could not be happier with my order through DoorDash($ 1 delivery on first order: ). Chose type of order I wanted(regular burger) and how I wanted it done(medium rare). Anticipated wait time was 45 minutes, but got in 25 minutes! They call you when they arrrive and tip is paid online. ANYWAY. props to BGR cuz my burger was super moist, super medium rare and oh so delicious. The buns weren’t even smushed and I loved how heafty the patty was. I think this will soon be my go to burger joint in the neighborhood!

Went recently with 2 friends to check out the veggie burgers — the DCist recently rated BGR to have one of the top veggie burgers in the District( ). Between the 3 of us we ordered a feast!: 2 veggie burgers, 1 regular burger, onion rings, fries, grilled asparagus and a strawberry milkshake… My fave part of the meal — the onion rings. Next time I go — I plan to order rings with a side of burger. The veggie burger is a black bean/oat concoction that’s super filling. My only complaint was it was a bit dry — and started to crumble after I got halfway through the burger.

As a longtime burger fan I had high hopes for this place… but I was disappointed. The food is decent, flavorful but nothing special, and the burgers look delicious, but there is no value here. The price is just too high for the food I received. I had a burger, onion rings, and a milkshake for a whopping $ 25.00, but looking around at the Ikea shelving, the pop art, and the crafty mosaic tables I don’t understand how they justify the pricing. The atmosphere was more like a casual neighborhood burger joint, not a $ 25.00(without alcohol) per meal restaurant. If this were the greatest burger, the price would be justified. But it wasn’t even close. The lettuce was wilted, the avocado was not quite ripe, and the grilled jalapenos were so spicy I’m surprised I didn’t have to sign a waiver to order them. Furthermore, the shake was just ordinary, the onion rings were over-fried and tasteless, and they cost $ 4.99 for only six large rings. The one aspect I appreciated was that the service was good and the staff was pleasant. But if you’re looking for a great burger for a decent price then this is probably not your place.

I’ve been going to the Italian Store next door for years and today I decided to switch it up and try a BGR burger. I was not disappointed. I’ve had burgers from numerous places in the area(Ray’s, Bobby’s Burger Palace, Five Guys, Black& Orange, Shake Shack, BTS…) I can honestly say this burger was one of my favorites. My burger was very tasty and my garlic parmesan fries were almost as good as Gordon Biersch’s. I’m a burger AND fries kind of girl; I need both to enjoy my meal. Unlike some of the other places mentioned, both were equally tasty at BGR. Would definitely return for both. I agree with others about the cooking temperature being off. I ordered medium well and it was well-done. Not a big deal, my burger wasn’t overly dry but it just wasn’t cooked to the right temperature. Overall, good burger!
