Dunkin’ Donuts

For nearly two years, my boyfriend and I have been going to this Dunkin’ location. We love Dunkin’ coffee. Here, customer service and correct orders are very hit or miss depending on time of day and the people working. On the whole, we tolerate the so-​so service because it’s within walking distance. Yesterday, we stopped in and since it was Veteran’s Day, we asked if they had any specials. The cashier point blank asked what a Veteran was, said they «checked the website» and there were no specials. He was extremely rude, insensitive, and did not seem to care when we came back to ask for the manager’s card. We will never frequent this location again.

I think the donuts are too sweet for me, I guess I’ve outgrown them. In the past I’d get their flavored coffee (hazelnut) and now they add syrup, which doesn’t suit me.
I do like the jelly holes.

Excellent service. Clean and close to the hotel. Very small so only three chairs inside for sitting if you want to chat and eat a sandwich with your coffee.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE Dunkin Donuts coffee! It’s just that the customer service at this particular location (along with several others alarmingly) is unfriendly, slow and horrendous overall, unfortunately.
Perhaps it was just this particular day, however there was only a single person in front of me who apparently required TWO cashiers to attend to her for a simple coffee and donuts order.
On top of that, yet a third DD employee emerged from the back room to take my order who seemed already in an annoyed mood upon discovering I was the next customer in line with the nerve to order coffee! (sorry for passing on Starbucks to get here).
My coffee was hurriedly made and placed inconveniently atop the silver coffee machine without announcing that it was indeed my order or without personally handing it to me which obviously would have been easier and definitely friendlier service!
I then asked for a coffee sleeve/​java jacket for my cup which evoked an annoyed incomprehensible grimace from this 3^rd DD employee. I further explained it was due to the cup being uncomfortably hot to hold to which he condescendingly replied, «Yes, it is HOT coffee!». He grudgingly flicked a coffee sleeve again atop the inconvenient silver counter while muttering incoherently yet obviously grumbling about having to serve a simple cup of joe!
This location is already inconveniently placed a significant walk away from Pentagon City metro/​mall which both house significantly more convenient Starbucks locations! I won’t be snobbing Starbucks again just to suffer poor customer service and treatment from this DD location.

At 6:58 pm Monday August 31, at the Dunkin on South Fern Street in Arlington VA, I walked in tired, just wanting a couple of donuts and a coffee — I said «I’d like a harvest donut and a strawberry iced, For Here.» Clerk says to me «WHY YOU WANT JUST TWO? IS CHEAPER SIX!» I repeated what I wanted and got the same response — «WHY YOU WANT JUST TWO? IS CHEAPER SIX!» AGAIN I repeated what I wanted and got the same response from the clerk -«WHY YOU WANT JUST TWO? IS CHEAPER SIX!» — THEN the clerk proceeded to fill a bag with SIX DONUTS. ***WTH!!! *** I LEFT. America RUNS FROM Dunkin. I am never patronizing Dunkin again.

My kids love this place! Quick service, clean bathrooms, friendly employees. Only issue is that parking is tough since it’s across the street from Costco, and Costco visitors tend to take up the street parking.

I was staying at my friends place which is right upstairs and this dunkin donuts is convenient to go to for breakfast. It can get busy in the morning during weekdays. Overall a good dunkin donuts in a great location

Worst ever go to Starbucks. Very rude sandwich maker, gives you nothing but attitude. Tried the chicken biscuit this morning. Nasty, world rather go to mcdonalds. Tasteless coolatta

Small, crowded and always smells of burnt coffee. For the upscale location, this store doesn’t meet the mark. In fact, it’s in the running for my least favorite DD shop of all time. To make matters worse, they often mess up your order. A big reason for this is the language barrier. I’ll only go here if I’m in a breakfast pinch. Otherwise, I’ll pass.

I have been coming to this DD since it opened a few years ago. The staff are always friendly and, for the most part, know what I order before I make it to the front of the line. They can sometimes be a bit slow, but all in all, it’s a great way to start my day.

Nothing really exciting here. I wanted to stop at DD while in the area. I have been to DD before in PITT, San Antonio and other cities. This was so-​so. I received OK service.

All I did was call to ask if they had any products without eggs due to my sob’s allergies. The lady who picked up was rude and couldn’t answer my question. When I asked if she could ask another employee she hung up.

As Dunkin’ Donuts go, this is a 5. I live a block away, and I stop in frequently.
For a very long time, the staff has stayed constant. I find them committed to having a good store with prompt and courteous service. And the store is always spotlessly clean.
When I used my cell phone app for the first time, they were more patient with me than I was with myself.

Worst donuts ever. Disgusting and gross. Barf. Said donuts were fresh but they are super stale. Save your money.

Food is always fresh and hot and they are seldom out of anything but something seems to always go wrong here. Either they don’t take a coupon or they’re arguing with a customer about something or some other random mishap seems to occur. They’re friendly but a visit to this location can be a bit frustrating if you aren’t lucky. Also, it’s a very small location so plan to probably get it to go. Best case you get your food and enjoy, worst case you’re in for an ordeal.

I think this Dunkin’ Donuts holds the record for getting my order wrong every time I go in there! I don’t even know how that is possible considering it is not as if I am ordering anything complicated, but yet again, I got home and realized that I didn’t get what I had ordered. I ordered a salted caramel hot chocolate, but ended up with the s’mores hot chocolate. Very annoying considering I specifically stopped to get the salted caramel hot chocolate because I love that flavor.
I definitely miss going to Dunkin’ Donuts locations in New England because despite going there much more frequently over many years, I had far fewer problems than I have had at the Dunkin’ Donuts in this area.

Today was the second day in a row they messed something up. Yesterday I ordered a coffee and they gave it to someone else that ordered behind me, with me receiving the wrong drink. Today I ordered a coffee, and by the time I tried it at home realized it was hot chocolate. It’s not that difficult to hand someone their order, especially when their are only half a dozen people in the store.

Nothing much to add, expect if given a choice between this location and the Dunkin at the next Metro stop up in Crystal City, I recommend the CC location. This Dunkin is located across from the Pentagon City Costco so I’ll usually stop by and grab a bagel and coffee before I head over and brave the crazy crowds. However, I’m also a semi-​regular customer a few times a month when I pick up donuts for the office staff meeting during the weekdays. And on those days when it’s my turn to pick up donuts, I have to say that the service while generally friendly is abysmally slow.
The main problem is the interior of the store is just not designed to handle more than 6 – 8 people simultaneously. There is bench seating along the wall and a few tables for people to cram into, but otherwise the «lobby» is the size of a broom closet. So it’s not uncommon to have a line out the door with only about 10 people. And if there are a few people getting a dozen donuts and those box of coffee deals for office meetings (like myself), be prepared for an extra 10 – 15 minute wait for your order.
I actually think the coffee at the Dunkin is good and and dare I say BETTER than $tarbuck$ (emphasis on the $); I also prefer their bagel and breakfast sandwiches to Greasy Mickey D’s.
If you are old enough to remember their former slogan of «Time to wake up and make the donuts», well this can no longer be said since NO DONUTS ARE MADE LOCALLY at Dunkin stores anymore (
). Donuts are made at huge regional bakery centers and then trucked in daily (such as from this place,
). Doesn’t mean I’ll stop buying donuts for staff meetings, but just takes some of the enjoyment away knowing my chocolate glazed most likely was made in PA and delivered frozen to be defrosted for the morning rush… sigh.

Good coffee. Much faster and a little bit cheaper than Starbucks if you are getting a drip. Staff not especially friendly but very fast.

Pretty standard DD here. Except for the fact that it’s a bit smaller than other locations. It is pretty walkable from both Pentagon City and Crystal City Metro stations — and right across the street from the Costco. So it’s pretty safe to assume that both establishments are pretty busy on the weekends! Although it does tend to slow down a bit mid-​day.
The staff are friendly and I am always able to get in-​and-​out very quickly. Haven’t had any major problems here, so I’m gonna continue to be a repeat customer! :)
