This place is way better than subway! I always get the Italian with everything. They make it good each time. The only complaint is that during peak times the restaurant is pretty messy.

I got the Engineer, minus the mushrooms, mustard, tomatoes, onions, and pickle — to go. The bread was soft(better than Subway) but fairly tasteless. It probably would have been a good sandwich, except they left off the swiss cheese also, which I didn’t notice at the time they made it because they don’t make it in front of you like other sub places. I didn’t open the wrapper until I was back on the road. When I was waiting in line to place my order, I noticed them heating some turkey for another sandwich and wringing out the juice before placing it on the bun. I don’t know if it was juice from the turkey or an excess of mayo, but the sandwich began dripping immediately and then the bread started coming apart. Also, the lettuce was limp; I don’t know if it was out too long or if the hot turkey wilted it. I might try them again if I have time to eat in.

Came here for lunch for the past two days. My boyfriend has been wanting me to try firehouse subs for forever. He chosen the sandwich, something with ‘hero’ in it. With fresh bread, hot cuts, melted cheese and dressing, it’s So good. I could have it for lunch tomorrow. A little bit expensive though, costs more than a subway sandwich. Have a great selections of hot sauces to add to your sandwich. As well as if you donate $ 2 to the firefighters charity, you get a good looking Logo’ed pickle bucket! And a coke freestyle machine — all the mello yello I want. Great cookies and brownies too.

We really like this place. I’m not a huge sub fan, so I get the chicken salad sandwich and it is incredible!!! My husband loves the subs. Enjoy!

I have been to this location a few times, just for pick up and take back to work. I like it way better than Subway and McAllister’s Deli. I like anything turkey or ham on white, with any good cheese, and a pickle, I’m down. But in all honesty, it’s all good and I like how you can choose the drinks any pop you like as a fountain drink. Only down side, it’s a little pricey when on a lunch budget like I am sometimes.

Worst firehouse ever. Staff is rude and do not listen when one is placing an order. I ordered the firehouse sub with no onions. I emphasized i am highly allergic to onions. I get my order and there are onions all over it. I take it back and explain to the counter i cannot eat it. He grabs the sandwich from my hands and proceeds to pick the onions off with bare hands and give it back to me. I stressed again i cant eat it because the onions were on there. He then proceeded to make comments under his breath. Manager finally came out and refunded credit card.

Delicious! Everything was fresh and tasted great. The bread was perfect, not too doughy or too light. The cookies and brownies were awesome too. Can’t wait to come again.

I’ve been to Firehouse Subs a few times and their sandwiches are just ok. Today I thought I’d try the Turkey Salsa Verde sandwich and will never order it again. It was actually disgusting. The sandwich was so wet from the salsa verde the bread was actually disintegrating. I tried to eat it, but I shouldn’t have to fight with the napkins to contain the dribbles flowing down my arms. Why make a sandwich slathered with salsa verde since it’s mostly tomatillos, which are 90% water? Makes no sense to me. Was it tasty anyway? Uh, no.

It funny that Unilocal is famous for having fake reviews, and what reviews they do have that are honest and legit they someone manage to delete. I like how my picture got taken off which showed the restaurant served me moldy sub bread and got me so sick the next day that at the time I thought I had the swine flu.

I probably would’ve been able to enjoy my sandwich more had I not been surrounded by so much garbage on the floors.

If you like good sub sandwiches and hot sauces, this place is really loaded with a wide variety of different tastes and temperatures! It is definitely worth the money which is a little more than Subway and probably more like Quizno’s. Clean and friendly service. Great lunch stop! Oh, and try the cherry limeade!

Get a cherry limeade with your sandwich! It’s perfect to wash down a turkey and bacon sandwich. Sure the sandwiches are a bit more pricey, but you get a bigger sandwich!!!

Ah good. Like a better subway. More like quiznos. Too bad there is no quiznos around Cooper area. So come here if u want quiznos type subs. Try their firehouse sauce. Sooo freaking good. If I could. I’d grab and straw and drink that stuff. Just kidding I’m not that crazy.

Been here now the second time. The food is great, but my favorites are the 120+ pops coke machine with a touchscreen and the hot sauce bar. The selection of hot sauces is quite unique. The staff is super friendly, clean bathrooms and delicious food.

Very good subs. This place is owned by a fireman. So the store is fireman decorated. The subs have cute name to order from. I had Italian sub which was very good with a good amount of meat and topping. I would check this place out.

I had the Engineer with 2 hot sauces(house hot sauce and the Bee hot sauce). Overall the experience here was alright. Their veggies are fresh and they give you a lot of meat. I’m not crazy about their bread though. I was hoping for something more special but it’s still better than Subway. Overall, I’d come back here again for their philly cheese-steak. I think it’s much better than the Engineer which was a little bland. Their hot sauce counter makes this place a lot more special than other sandwich joints. I’d get a sandwich here just so I could try all of their sauces. :x

I have a hard time getting excited about sandwiches in general, especially when I’m shelling out extra dough for something that could end up being sub-par compared to what I could potentially make at home. Ok, yes, I know I’m paying for convenience & not having to do something myself, but it’s still difficult for me to be totally on board. My friend & I tried this place when we were on our way to a Ranger’s game. We needed something quick, cheap, & that wouldn’t make us miserable in the summer heat later. The place was clean & had a lot of available seats, so that’s a plus. The menu is pretty simple & they have a slew of hot sauces from which to choose. Gotta appreciate a place that loves the sauce! I agree with Steven S. — the service was friendly, but I wasn’t crazy about their pace(really slow) & the fact that they got my order wrong. If it were crowded or something, I’d understand, but there was only 2 of us there. Meh. Whatever, I was hungry so I ate anyway. The sub itself was alright, though pretty salty, which I assume is from the meat itself. The veggies were alright, but not that fresh. Honestly, there wasn’t anything extraordinary about mine or my friend’s sandwich. Overall, pretty«meh» & maybe a tad overpriced for the quality. Maybe I’ll try it again, but I’m certainly not seeking it out anytime soon.

Service — 4 Stars(Very friendly) Food — 3 Stars(Very fresh tasting) All the Hot Sauces Available to Try — 4 Stars Subway, Quiznos, etc. Lots of sandwich shops everywhere. They all claim they use the freshest meats, a lot bake their own breads on site and use fresh vegetables. Yet, I like this one better than Subways. What sets this one apart is the plethora(if you don’t know this word, look it up, or better yet, watch The Three Amigos movie) of hot and spicy sauces they have all lined up in cute little bottles to try out of your sandwich. Yep, pick out your sandwich, line up some bottles and try a different sauce with each separate bite. Don’t forget, lots of liquid should be on hand before you begin! It’s a great way to refine your hot sauce palate. After this pales as a game, try doing blindfold taste tests. Let’s play: Name That Sauce. Lots of fun. Just don’t plan to do anything too strenuous with your tongue for several hours afterwards!

I first tried Firehouse Subs at the Burleson location and was pretty much sold as my #1 fast sandwich shop over Subway, Quizno’s, Jimmy John’s, et cetera, et cetera. The atmosphere at the Arlington location, like the Burleson one, is friendly when you walk in, with a warm greeting as you enter, and a sincere«Enjoy Your Meal» when they bring your sandwich to you. I had the Hook & Ladder, which is oven roasted turkey breast and honey ham over Monterrey jack cheese, the first time and the steak, basically a Philly cheese steak, the second time. The best thing about Firehouse I’d say that anybody could taste from the first bite is the quality of their ingredients, particularly their meats. It was probably the first time I had really tasted the sweetness of «honey ham» and the onions and bell peppers were cooked well complementing the steak. The bread is soft on the inside with a slight toasty crunch as you bite into your sandwich, and stays so throughout the meal. With these kinds of restaurants, there isn’t some magic formula or gimmicky ad that will differentiate one from the other, and the quality of the ingredients here alone put Firehouse a cut above most other sandwich places, even other so-called«premium subs» such as Jimmy John’s.
