The Arlington Highlands Jamba Juice is now closed :( I loved their Aloha Pineapple and Caribbean Passion smoothies.

We used to go to this Jamba Juice all the time. Well, because the service was pretty quick and the juices were yummy. As vegans, we always went with the all berry smoothies. I only give it three stars because I no longer go there, for a few reasons. 1) I really hate that Jamba Juice uses styrofoam cups. They are so horrible for the environment and if they are going to promote health, why not promote health for the environment too?! 2) To my knowledge, nothing is organic(aka, not as healthy as they claim). We follow the«dirty dozen» rule of the top 12 fruits and veggies to get organic, due to pesticides, and berries are on the top of the list, because of their thin skins. 3) I have trouble, especially in this economy, paying for an item that I can easily make. Ever since I started making my own, I realized that homemade put to shame the smoothies at Jamba Juice and they were cheaper, and organic!

Had the banana berry smoothie and it was awesome. The location is in the Arlington Highlands so you have a lot different places you can go to. Nice place to stop take a break and people watch.

Mmmmmmmm… oatmeal. As an adult I rarely have oatmeal anymore, something about those small brown packets out of the quaker box just bring back memories of dreary mornings and lukewarm oatmeal with minimal flavor, choking it down before I got on the school bus. I have to say that Jamba Juice is bringin’ se– I mean oatmeal back. I’ve stopped in several times for their steel cut oats oatmeal which has a variety of flavors from the basic brown sugar, up to nuts and fruits, or delicious sliced bananas on top. Especially for the health conscious out there it tells you the calories(up to 280 calories for a bowl) which is really nothing compared to other fast food breakfast options. Plus, it’s completely affordable! About $ 2.50 for a filling, stick to your ribs, breakfast that will actually keep you satisfied and moving until lunch. Their smoothies are incredible as well, I’m a sucker for the Strawberry Nirvana, add some protein to it and it can serve as lunch! Trust me, I’ve done it and although it’s a little more expensive(around $ 5-$ 6) it’s a healthy, and filling, option for lunch.

I’ve been here a few times and I’ve left happy most of the times. :) My favorite flavor is definitely Pink Star. It tastes like a pink starburst! Today I ordered the 5 Fruit Frenzy and it tasted like funky spunk. It was bitter with a sour finish. I ended up getting another smoothie(Pink Star). They only charged me the difference which was nice. :) I’ll be back for sure especially since they have the $ 3 specials on Tuesdays now.
