The server was horrible. He was slow and screwed up my order, the salad, potato and steak. The manager saved the day! After I sent my food back the manager brought out a perfectly cooked sirloin steak and baked potato, it was awesome. The manager was professional, polite and genuinely concerned about customer satisfaction and providing a quality product. Too bad the server was slow, AWOL, indifferent and incompetent. It was not that crowded, no excuse.

Sadly, this steakhouse has gone downhill with lackluster cooking, inattentive service, overworked inexperienced staff AND higher prices! We have gone for lunch and dinner over the past few years and liked the smaller size of this Outback. The food was well prepared and hot when served. The servers knew their menu and were friendly and came by often for us to order up on sides, seconds and beverages. NOT anymore. Service: There last night for dinner. The server was courteous but seemed overwhelmed by the larger menu of items, add ons, side dishes and types of steaks/cooking choices. We got what we asked for but then he hardly came by to see what else we needed like beverage fill ups, more food — even when he walked right by us. None of the other servers, managers, busers or staff stopped to pick up empty dishes, bring more beverages or ask anything. Very poor coordination among staff and poorly managed. The young, inexperienced server was on his own. Steaks: Since this is their touted specialty, the steaks should be nicely sized, tender and coked to order. NOT. All the steaks(3) were small and served slightly warm. They were all under cooked even by the menu picture and cooking list. We returned one filet for more cooking. This was a huge disappointment since we went there for the specialty steaks. Seafood: The lobster tail add ons saved the dinner. They were cooked right, tasty and inexpensive as an add on. However the crab meat used in the crab cakes and crab appetizers was grade B small bits, not nice chunky lump crab meat. Again all were served warm. The other food and beverages were like the pictures but bland. With the entre, add on and sides pricing, dinner is quite expensive for the area, a chain restaurant in a side mall, and with the food/service experienced. Tip: the best items were the soups and salads which were tasty and fresh. Tip: The best way to get a booth is to «Call Ahead» for seating — a reservation. Tip: Parking is plenty right off Route 50. The problems with this downhill slide are easy to fix with attentive management, training and customer attention. I will not be there to see if it happens.

Decent food but not great. Stay away from filet mignon, which was tougher than expected. Service was decent but not exceptional.

Absolutely horrendous service. Our group and a couple behind us stood for several minutes in front of the hostess while she talked on the phone. It was clearly a personal call, and she eventually just turned her back on us. She never even acknowledged us until a server came up and asked us if we wanted seats. Only then did she get off the phone and slowly get our menus and take us to a seat. This is not how you welcome people to your restaurant and we definitely won’t be returning. I would recommend avoiding this out of the way Outback. There are lots of better places in the area.

This is about carry-out from a long-standing neighborhood customer. Phone connection was poor with two bounced connections before the call was accepted. Order was delivered minus a salad. Portion control has taken over… and not in a good way. The former four piece chicken tender dinner is now three pieces; a half cup of fries is now a third of a cup; and two tablespoons of honey mustard is now a teaspoon. The former Wedge Salad is half of its former self. Caesar would be annoyed at how his salad and dressing have shrunk. Marginally adequate food in inadequate portions is what won’t keep us coming back. Sorry.

Went to this location on Aug 08,2015 there was a sign on the door stating that the«potato cooker» was broken, we went ahead and ate this night and as usual the food was good and our waiter was great. Came to this location again on Sept 12, 2015 same sign same problem! Are you kidding me? This is a steakhouse and what goes with steak? We left and went to Cheesecake Factory instead! We just can’t get over the fact that in a month’s time the«potato cooker» has not been fixed. Really? Just go to Costco and buy a $ 120.00 microwave oven!!! I want to add that Steve R. was there on July 22, 2015 so this has actually been going on for almost 2 months now!

The Outback off of 50 here is an excellent retreat from the rushed pace of the week. My server, John, was outstanding and the service flowed nicely! The food was also excellent for a reasonable price. I dined alone and realized this experience would have been heightened with a companion! I had the filet with unlimited shrimp. Usually I would dodge such a proposition but these petite shrimp were great! I expected bland popcorn shrimp and was pleasantly surprised that the Outback put care into the preparation of these morsels! And the drinks… Visit and see for yourself!

Bad Food — Bad Service But read my funny review. First let me say they comped my meal so I guess I have nothing to complain about but still I thought I would pass along my experience. If not for the funny story. Got there on a recent Sat night with a friend and ordered the filet with a blue cheese crust ordered medium well. Meal got to me in good time but with no blue cheese and cooked rare. When I mentioned to the middle aged man who delivered the order(not the waitress) that there was no blue cheese crust, he thrust a small container of cold blue cheese crumbles at me, said, «there you go» and turned to walk away. I had to laugh actually. I asked him if he could take it back and kind of heat it up to melt a little(I was nice) he said sure. He came back in about 6 mins with the cold raw blue cheese just dumped on the streak. I also mentioned the steak wasn’t cooked properly and he said«sorry» and walked away. So I just ate my undercooked meat with the cold blue cheese crumbles rolling into my lap and on the floor. I wasn’t expecting much as this is a chain, but when an individual in street clothes came by about 10 mins later asking how my meal was(I assume he was the manager but who knows) I told him of my complaint.(And I was nice. Really.) Get this — he paused for a minute and then said, «Oh well other than all that, how was your meal»!! I just laughed. I said other than that I guess it’s OK??!(I mean the soda was good) He said, «Great, well enjoy your evening» — and then walked away! I thought that was the funniest thing. He just seemed so unprepared in how to handle the situation. It was like that Friends episode with Ursula(Phoebe’s ditzy twin) in the restaurant. My favorite though was when the waitress came back(and she was genuinely nice) — and was like«oh im sorry about that — but its not my fault» She actually said that! LOL Anyway, waitress said she got my meal comped so I included the price for my steak in her tip. I know — Im a wimp. But I just chalked it up to miscommunication. And you know how sometimes you make a nice gesture to kind of turn negative events into a positive and at least know that you behaved well in the face of less than stellar service? One final note, the filet didn’t cut like filet — you know how a filet will slice in strips? My piece of meat crumbled when cut similar to hamburger. No accusations! Just saying. So that’s my story. Hope you got a laugh. Oh if you like Outback give Longhorn off Seminary, I think(near the Giant) a shot.

Food was great. Bartender was attentive and good. Bathroom– horrible. Manager was rude. Doing inventory and didn’t bother to look up and say hello or anything. I left without finishing as after going to the ladies room I was sickened.

The customer service on this visit was outstanding! My waiter was quick and attentive. The bread and salad were both fresh and came out within 2 minutes of me placing my order. My bone-in rib eye was cooked a perfect medium, just as I requested. Overall a great experience! I would have awarded 5 stars, but the«machine» that makes the baked potatoes was not working. I guess by «machine» they were talking about an oven.

Believe it or not, this was my first experience ever at an Outback Steakhouse. I’d heard a lot about it growing up and I just never visited. Surprising for a steak lover: D I visited on a Friday evening recently with my fiancé. It wasn’t too crowded around 6pm and we were seated almost immediately. The restaurant did fill up with tons of families a short while later. Service was decent at first, but our waiter disappeared halfway through the meal and wasn’t really available again until we were ready to pay. It was hard to flag him down then. The food was decent, but not out of this world. We ordered a «Great Barrier Trio» combination platter for our appetizer, which came with Sashimi-style Ahi Tuna with a drizzle of ginger-soy dressing, crispy Coconut Shrimp and a mini version of their Crab & Avocado Stack served with tortilla chips. Decent, but not spectacular. Portions weren’t great and the food was so-so. For entrees, my fiancé ordered chicken tenders and I naturally went with a steak and ordered a 10oz rib eye(prepared in their special grill way) with a side of their parmesan fries and seasonal veggies. My steak was cooked just the way I wanted it(medium), but was by no means the best steak I’ve ever had. It was pretty mediocre. The sides were also just average. For drinks, I ordered a piña colada and my fiancé ordered a flat tire(beer). My piña colada was really melty and I couldn’t finish more than a few sips. A bit disappointing. There is parking in the lot right outside, but it can be a bit difficult to find, as this restaurant shares a parking lot with several other stores /restaurants in the strip mall. This Outback restaurant is located in an area called«Arlington Forest,» which is on the border of Arlington and Falls Church(we took the 50W to get there). Bottom line — Decent and something to try once, but generally average as far as food and service went. I won’t be clamoring to visit again anytime soon.

We have received extremely friendly customer service and our food came out in a good time and delicious. However, this location is on the smaller side so having a big group like 7 will land you by the kitchen area. So it was little inconvenient to have a decent conversation without 10 servers running back and forth with tray full and empty food/dishes.

I live within walkable distance from this place so unfortunately as many little«problems» come up I will continue to use this place because I have too. That being said I will just vent here about my issues with his outback. But before I do I have to set the mood… so picture yourself going through your day and you realize OMG it’s 8pm and I haven’t eaten today. So instead of going for fast food you decide to put some money into your dinner so you’re not eating complete crap. So you order dinner, take out because you just don’t have the energy to eat out. You order your dinner take it home and it’s missing… 1)extra appetizer 2) never brought your drinks with meal(I slightly blame that one on myself) 3)lobster tail butter(yes, I can melt my own, but if I wanted to do that I could have paid a quarter of the price and cooked my own lobster tails with the butter) 4)they have things on the menu online they don’t have in the store. So that when you come to pick your food up half your stuff isn’t made and all your other food gets cold while waiting) ***this is particularly agitating since 1) they have your phone number 2) all your other food gets COLD while your waiting for your extra dish. My point is that is always something with this place. I order take out once a week and I’m just so tired of something always being wrong. To the point it’s a joke. Do yourself a favor: 1) call after you place your order to make sure they have th food to place your order. 2) when you arrive check your whole bag. Yes, this is ridiculous because you are paying full price for food so your expectation is that someone is double checking to make sure everything you ordered is in the bag. That is not the case, know this. Thank you outback, my cold food tonight rocked. Had it been warm it might have actually rocked.

I ordered there last night, a sunday in a 3-day weekend. It took a few minutes for the young man to answer my call and one I got the order placed, headed for the restaurant. When I got there, I parked in the curbside spaces and waited… and waited… and waited. For about 7 minutes I just sat there waiting, until finally I got out and went into the cramped area they had. Now there was another customer thinking about an order. I was ignored as I walked in the door and as I stood there waiting as this customer thought his order out and while the employee shuffled about what seemed to be 10 different orders, bags of food, receipts, etc. another guy followed me inside and he needed his order as well… Another guy came back in after just leaving with his order. Clearly, this outback is understaffing their take out window as this guy was under water big time. I don’t blame him, I blame management for not covering their bases. BTW: my ribs were awesome, my wife’s teriyaki steak kabobs were skimpy on the«filet medallions» the broccoli was limp and flavorless, the French fries were soggy and the bread was cold and hard. The ribs are the only thing that got you a second star.

Let me start off by saying that normally I wouldn’t care to write about an «Appleby’s/Friday’s/Ruby Tuesday» type American chain restaurant; in my opinion they are all roughly the same in terms of price, food, atmosphere, and service: Average. But my recent mantra for Unilocal has been to review my experiences no matter what so Outback gets the gavel. Came in here for a friend’s birthday dinner and found that things got off to a pretty slow start. Our waitress took about 10 minutes to get a drink order in, followed by another 15 minutes before we could even order a single appetizer. Not *get* the appetizer, *order*. That’s kind of sad. It was not even excusably busy. My entrée was awful. I ordered the Firecracker Salmon, the flavor for which I couldn’t really describe to you, because the thing was about the size of a toaster strudel. I’m not asking for a buffet, but if I could leave the restaurant not hungry, that would be swell. Do yourself a favor and avoid this Outback. And maybe all Outbacks. Maybe others are better service-wise, but portions can’t be adjusted.

Came here for dinner. Called ahead to check on how busy they were and put my name on the waiting list. Seated immediately upon arrival. Ordered some apps, entrees, etc. Everything was good and service was attentive. My bone in rib eye was overcooked vice medium rare. Upon hearing about this, the server took a look and agreed. He got me a new steak and also a new baked potato. Wasn’t too busy.

I absolutely love a good steak, and haven’t had much luck with bang for my buck here in DC with steak. I’ve tried several places and they’re usually just way too expensive for what I get. I’ve been to this location a couple times, and it always makes me happy. I walk out for less than $ 20 with salad, a small steak, some type of yummy side potato, and usually an appetizer. They did recently change the menu and green beans are no longer available(BOO), but they added a side of blossom petals so you can enjoy the awesome blossom without getting the entire thing. I rarely eat at chain restaurants, and of course Outback is a chain. It’s not the newest, or trendiest restaurant. It’s also probably not the BEST steak in DC. But it’s consistent, tasty, with good service and affordable so I’ll be sure to come back.
