Splendid China

I generally like Splendid China. Lately, the delivery has taken too long and or the times have changed. This is to say, they have been inconsistent. The food is usually like by my picky daughters and is reasonably priced. My chief complaint is the lack of consistency in delivery and delivery times. I really like their String Bean chicken.

Food is good, prices are good. My only complaint would be that the delivery man once complained that his tip wasn’t good enough since they dont charge a delivery charge. Im not a bad tipper. I work in a tipping industry. I had my reasons for the tip I gave. Besides that no complaints.

Haven’t had Chinese in 2 years. This somewhat satisfied my cravings… but not nearly as good as many other places I’ve had.
I ordered orange chicken– which had good flavor but lacked crunch that I was hoping for. Would have been so much better with that texture. The steamed rice that came with this was so dry & I love steamed rice
Egg drop soup was more like corn chowder with cornstarch that made it like jello I like egg drop when the base has lots of yolk flavor and there is lots of egg whites floating
I also ordered pork lo mein & it was very good. No complaints there.
Customer service was very friendly. Told me it would be 1.5 hours & I’m glad they told me upfront. Delivery man was so sweet and had a huge smile

The food here is so good. The service has been good every time we’ve been here and the delivery is very prompt. Highly recommend it.

Had delivery for the first time this week. Very fast delivery. Very friendly. Prices were good also. We ordered the orange chicken which was the best we have ever eat. Combination fried rice. It was just average. Not bad but I’ve had worse. The egg rolls and crab ragoon were very good. We also had the shrimp lo mein. That was very good! If your looking for above average Chinese food that delivers and won’t break the bank. I highly recommend

I wanted Chinese food. REALLY TRULY wanted Chinese food. I called in my order and said — no less than 4 times — no bell peppers — at all. none. she said ok and my husband went to pick up the order. at the very top of my meal was a gigantic bell pepper. WHAT??? sigh
my husband returned it and received a refund and states they were very apologetic, but it shouldn’t have been in there in the first place.
I’m taking care of my son who just had surgery and did not want to mess with another wrong order.
this isn’t the first time they’ve messed up an order, but it will be the last. I threw their menu away and will not return.

This is now my to go place for Chinese food! Large portions, so yummy, and friendly staff at the counter.

The food this place serves is Chinese-​ish style food that you might find if the local high school were to try some multicultural cuisine some time. I ordered the governor’s chicken while my wife ordered the garlic shrimp. I swear my dish was Tyson chicken nuggets tossed in some nondescript brown sauce. My wife had to drown her food in soy sauce and mustard because her food was blah and tasted sugary. The fried rice had maybe one or two peas in it and one carrot. It was like they took the previous day’s steamed rice and tossed in a little soy sauce and served it. Even for my low expectations for a takeout Chinese place, this place managed to disappoint.

My wife and I have dined here for the last twenty five years. The last time we went, there was a cockroach running around on the wall right next to me. I pointed it out to the server who did nothing about it and laughed it off. The only thing she offered was for us to move to another table and ignored the roach still running around. We walked out never to return.

The food was very good and our waitress made sure everyone had what they needed. Then a roach ran out on our table while we were eating. We have both eaten in the restaurant and ordered take out many times and had no problems. Maybe tonight was just an off night.

I ordered from this restaurant while I was very hungry and maybe that wasn’t the best idea.
Considering the fact that I don’t eat meat at all, I decided to go with a shrimp option. I chose the sweet and sour shrimp with lo mein (which costs 3.50 extra plain w/​out vegetables). Figured just add a spring roll or two just in case I wanted a snack later. The young lady on the phone told me it would be an hour wait which I didn’t catch until later. I brought up the time and she tried to comfort me by saying that the time might not really be that long. «Most likely would be around 30 minutes,» she said. Although my heart said no, I went with it.
Didn’t keep up with the time as I was so caught up in work at the time. The doorbell rang and I received my food. When I opened it I found 2 spring rolls the size of my hand, «jumbo deep fried shrimp» with steamed onions and carrots, and a box of plain lo mein.
Here’s why I give it 2 stars. The spring rolls greasy enough to grease my scalp with. I bit into the «jumbo sized» fried shrimp and found that it’s about 70% bread and 30% shrimp. While eating a tiny portion of my lo mein, I I found bits of beef in it which could be why I’m having a bit of a headache right now. (my body doesn’t react to cow products very well)…When I called to bring the beef issue to their awareness, they simply responded with «that’s just the way it is.»
Second star is given for politeness. The driver spoke very little English but, was smiling ear to ear like he won the lottery and that was nice. They did apologize and offer a $ 3.50 credit to my phone number in case I wanted to eat there again. But, I’m unimpressed and didn’t get to finish my meal… I don’t see me ordering from them ever again. It only makes sense, I care too much about my body to only eat the fried foods they offer only because everything else might have traces of meat in it…
Lesson Learned: Follow your heart.
Eat smart.

The food here was great. I ordered combination lo mein and combination fried rice. The cashiers were really nice. The only downside was the small portions. It seemed like I should have gotten more for the price. But I would def eat here again.

Best Chinese food! Large portions for the whole family and good service and their delivery service is also fast

This was my own personal experience at Splendid China on 01÷15÷15.
I have been eating at Splendid China for 20 years, no more!
I have brought my own tea in a pitcher when I dine in for years, and the staff have never had a problem with this.
I was there for dinner, the male owner saw the tea pitcher on my table and very rudely asked me «what is that, wine? I said no, its just tea.
He then walked outside looking back at me and the waitress, who was taking my order.
I asked my waitress was this a problem? She said «no, he is crazy.»
Then the male owner came back in, came over to my table and rudely shouted, shaking his finger at me, «you bring your own tea, you bring your own cup.»
He then walked outside again.
I told the waitress that he was rude and that’s not the way you treat customers, especially ones that having been coming in at least once a week for 20 years.
I got up and left, and will not return.
Unless you enjoy being treated like I was, do not go to this business.

Gigantic portions and good food. We ate in and service was good by young female. Price felt low.

We just started ordering take out from here and I am just sorry it took us almost a year to do so! It’s so easy and no delivery fees. Plus, we have never waited the full time they estimate delivery will take and the delivery guy is very nice :)
Food is always fresh, hot and delicious! Highly recommend!

I go here many times for lunch because it’s just absolutely delicious and affordable.
Today I ordered the pepper steak. The flavoring was just right and if you want to, you can alter the meal however you like.
Also every lunch from 11:00 am to 3:00 Pm has eggrolls and a side of soup included

Average Chinese food. Nothing special.
Restaurant is clean. And the staff is friendly & quick w/​your food.

My family lives right around the corner from Splendid China and we love it! We carry out or have food delivered quite often. The delivery guy is always so sweet and very fast. They deliver within a 5 mile radius! Having Chinese delivered to your house is awesome.
We always order the orange chicken and combination lo mein! It feeds my family of 5 with left overs for lunch the next day! The orange chicken is delicious, very flavorful. The glaze is thick and finger lickin good. The lo mein is also a favorite. I love adding sriracha sauce to it for an extra kick.
I’ve never dined in. The majority of their clientele is takeout or delivery!
