I give this Salon 0 stars. The most unprofessional owners I have ever met. Did some research on Unilocal and discovered Studio Salon and Spa in Shirlington. Scheduled a consultation for a color and extensions. Asked if they used Olaplex in there color process. Yes, I was excited! I met with Jane and explained my Dilemma, while I loved the guy who colored my hair, he did not do extensions. I was looking for someone that could fulfill all my needs. I asked if she could get 22 inches platinum blonde and she assured me she could. Told me it would be $ 400 for the hair. No problem, order the hair and set the appointment. I immediately notice the hair was only 18 inches and seemed to be darker, but I’m putting my trust in the professional. If everything matches up I can still be happy. When she finished it really did not look that much of a difference. I got home under some good lighting and I was horrified. My hair was 3 different colors. Yellow roots, platinum blonde and sandy blonde extensions. She also did not order enough hair so it was not as full as it should be. I called back thoroughly upset. I had just spent over $ 800 for a nightmare. She agreed through the receptionist to see me the next day(Unprofessional) When I went in she told me that I picked the color. I explained first you didn’t get the proper length and if you knew the colors did not match you should have not put it in without consulting me. She agreed to recolor my hair and extensions during which she rushed and was extremely rough in manner with my head. I noticed she did not use the Olaplex this time when coloring my hair, when I specifically asked and paid for it. Also did not fully finish blow drying my hair. She was rushing to get to her next client. I definitely will find a better place to spend my money.

I went in for a Deva Curl Cut and left feeling disappointed. It was only after I was in the chair that I realized they do not use Deva Curl Products for a Deva Curl Cut, but they do advertise a Deva Cut on their website. After the stylist deemed my hair to be «too dry» to cut for a dry but he washed my hair, did minor cuts. After that he styled it with non-deva curl products and dried it. Then did a few more cuts with it dry and was surprised I was not enthusiastic about it. My ends still look frayed and need more closer attention. Plus side, everyone was very nice and the facility is lovely. However if you love your curls and use the Deva Curl system take your curls somewhere else.

I moved to the area a little over two years ago, and struggled for a long time to find a stylist that I really liked. A friend of mine recommended booking an appointment here with Kambiz, and I haven’t gone anywhere else since then! He is AWESOME and is not only able to understand exactly what I am looking for, but make my hair look ten times better than I expected. He always stays on top of the hottest trends and knows the proper way to apply them to your hair type. I got an ombré dye a year ago and I love it so much that I haven’t changed it since then! This place is more expensive than others, but the quality of the work is definitely worth it.

I’ve been going here for a few years and while I love my current stylist, I am starting to think they are just way too expensive. My last few appointments I have been taken aback at how expensive my bill was. This last time I only had my roots touched up and a blow dry and style and it was $ 115! No cut, no highlights… just my roots and a blow dry and style and it was nothing special. And the stylist did someone else’s hair in between my color and blow out when there wasn’t really time so I ended up being there extra long. The front desk staff are very nice but the two owners are not very friendly either. I know it must be a tough business to run but they are never friendly and as business owners I would expect more. It seems they are only nice to their customers. I live in the area so it’s convenient but I’m going to start to shop around. Also, as others have posted about massage services. This is not the place to get one. They only have one small room for spa services and waxing and the two pedicure chairs are right outside of it. Just not the atmosphere for a massage.

Rebekah is phenomenal. Had a major hair cut — 8 inches. listened to what i wanted/was looking for and made it happen. It’s pricey, but you’re worth it!

First of all don’t go!!! I have never walked out of a salon before a haircut before in my life. I have been searching for a Devachan trained stylist in the DC area for years that actually does it right – not a bastardization. After telling me that I should have come in with my hair already washed and curled so Sharon could cut it in the Deva Cut she offered to do it wet… nervous because that didn’t sound right I thought well at least as the curls dry she will see it. Then after telling her that I ONLY use Deva curl product on my hair she tells the woman who washes my hair to use something else. When I notice she tells me they don’t use Deva products for hair washing and that Deva products aren’t the only thing I should use. That’s when I said enough… she then proceeded to say that Deva wants the be all end all of curly hair products. WOW. JUSTDON“T GO!

I was very happy with this salon. I have had a cut and partial highlights with Gina twice now, and both times I loved what she did with my thick curly hair. The first time I came in with a coupon, which they honored with no upcharge. The second time I came in they gave me 20% off list prices, which they said was part of the deal with the coupon I had brought in the first time, but I sure didn’t know anything about it. Very kind of them to point that out though. I’ve already referred several friends here.

I made appointments here for myself and a couple of friends to get a massage. They accommodated us on the date, but we had to go in one at a time, as there was only one room. I went in last, and the masseuse spoke very little english. She was not respectful of my privacy and did not ensure the sheet was covering me when I turned over, etc. I kept having to stop her and adjust. At the end, she took my wrists, pulled them over my head and pulled on them, causing the sheet to fall away. Then she shouted…“Eeets Ok, you are a wooooooman!”, and laughed hysterically. I was so embarrassed and appalled at her behavior. I would never go here again.

After what seems like 50 zillion attempts to find a nail place that I like, I finally found a winner! I’d had a wretched experience at a place here in town where I asked for gel nails and she did them like acrylics(see Sugar House Spa), a place in Dover, DE where she did a neat job five days before my wedding but where the white french nail tips were, according to my fiancé, «out of proportion» compared to the rest of my nail, and several attempts at finding places that did Gelish and Shellac properly. At last, I found a place right next door to me that did a GREAT job on my nails. It’s actually a hair salon, but they do have a nail tech. Soo Lee did my fills on the outgrowth from my wedding manicure, and they are just beautiful. The only negative is that her English isn’t great, so I wasn’t sure if I was understanding her right, or if she was understanding me right. Plus, my acrylics were yellowed(I think b/c of the sunscreen I put on everyday during my honeymoon), so there is a clear line where you can see the old acrylics vs. the fills. But I got her to paint them with a light baby pink, so you can’t see them that bad. They are shaped beautifully, the proportions are right, and even better, she didn’t completely rip them off and start all over again! That makes me WAY happy! I’ll be going back in 2 weeks for another fill. YAY for a great nail salon!

Recently, I got a call back from the salon’s marketing coordinator and they had offered to give me a free cut and highlights with the owner. I went in last week to get it done and I loved it! I will be going back for sure! Thank you for the great customer service!
