I usually don’t eat Chinese fast food. But these places are all over. They actually serve me with no carbs no rice or noodles. Not bad for fast food.

I USEDTOBE a fan of this location because I think their chicken wings(garlic and spicy) are fantastic, but that all changed when they screwed up my order on Superbowl Sunday. Pre-ordered 30pcs of garlic, 20pcs of spicy and they said they will combine both wing types into one container for a price, but when it came time to pay, they charged me different prices and then told me: oops, we don’t have your order. I could barely contain myself! If it wasn’t for my bf who said: let’s just forget it and go, I would have jumped over that foodbar and slapped someone silly. I called TWICE regarding the order: once to place it, and another to tell them that I’d be there in 30 minutes. I don’t care if there was another order for 50pcs for someone else, get your orders right! What makes it worse, I used to go there weekly and support their business(you’d think they’d remember me), but I haven’t been back since — I refuse to give them my business because of the attitude I received when I confirmed and they can’t run a business correctly. Also note: CASHONLY, but they conveniently have an ATM inside of the place for you to use(one they probably get the service fee for) wings: ***** service *

The food was good. Very tasty orange chicken as well as the teriyaki chicken. The lady who helped me could have been friendlier. I’ve always felt you should treat your paying customers warmly as opposed to just matter of fact. Also the rice and chow mien portions were the smallest I’ve gotten compared to any other fast food chines place I have gone too. You could see her hesitating. thinking should I put one more spoonful in while she was preparing my two item combo? She didn’t. therefore the 4 stars. Most of the time, being that is the cheapest thing for them to make they will load you up. Not so. All in all still good.

Hong Kong Express is pretty much the best Chinese fast food place around. Hands down! Sure, you can travel minutes and even seconds away to find an amazing sit down Chinese restaurant, but that’s a whole different craving to fill all together. Not entirely worthy of a special trip from afar, but if your local and want cheap, good, & filling– this is a winner! Hong Kong Express is situated near my hometown, so I’ve been here plenty of times. Truly a glorious place to grab a greasy take out box filled with staple favorites. Orange chicken, beef & broccoli, bbq pork, wonton soup, chow mein, and all that! I happen to love their made to order sweet & sour pork. Fresh from the deep fryer and so bad for my arteries. Just remember, cash only and to watch your timing because they have a lot of traffic during lunch. This place is rarely empty. An oldie & still a goodie.

You can’t go wrong with the fried rice, sweet & sour pork, and the beef & broccoli. Nice people working there too.

Just moved back to Cerritos from La and I’ve been trying to figure out what a foodie like me would do out here. Thank God for Unilocal… But anyways… They’re bbq pork is great and I usually don’t eat pork but I’m happy I tried it. I got the Hong Kong special(2 entrees and half/half rice and chow mein) it was super filling. It definitely filled that«ghetto» Chinese craving I was having. Like I said bbq pork is bomb their orange chicken isn’t the best I barely ate mine but I was super full. Their chow mein is good. The staff were a little rude in my opinion, I didn’t necessarily feel welcomed and I felt rushed. It’s ok nothing personal. I recommend this place though I did a lot of research to find it! All the other places like this nearby seemed sketchy and not clean! This place is very clean and new looking which I can appreciate! The food was fresh and tasty! Cheap and fast! Everything I needed! If you’re looking for that Chinese fast food that you normally get in the hood this is it! Every other Chinese spot I looked up was traditional Chinese because of the area, so happy l found a little more LA in Cerritos.

It is a good, inexpensive place that has been here a long time… I have been coming since way before the fire and reopening… Prices have modestly increased with time, portions have remained generous and the friendly staff hasn’t changed a bit… Nice to see this type of local business continue to thrive… Always a nice crowd inside… The food may not be exquisite but it is more than adequate for the price you pay… I have never had an upset stomach or any other issue after eating here lol… Thanks Hong Kong Express… Keep it up

So this place gets a 3. Panda is usually a 4 in my book. Portions are large but food is salty. Wasn’t happy with the food. Nice folks and clean place. I would recommend Flame Broiler which is in same parking lot. You’ll feel better eating there.

I was headed to Cha2O when my stomach rumbled. In search of quick food to satisfy my craving, my friend from school suggested l try a place called Hong Kong Express. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a petite server. Not knowing what to get, she recommended the Hong Kong Combo and suggested I try the chow mein. By the stars and heavens, their chow mein was so delicious, it made Panda Express’s chow mein taste bland and mediocre.

This spot is really good! If you’re in the area and you want Chinese fast food you can’t go wrong here. The prices went up since the last time I was here but I will still come here. Their orange chicken is tasty and not all fatty like a lot of other Chinese fast food places. The chow mein is my favorite thing to get here! Also the friend rice is delish! The half and half combo with two items is a perfect meal and you get to choose between a drink, a soup, an egg roll with that meal too!

Fastest, greatest, bestest, hottest, greasiest, cheapest, just under $ 7 gets you a 2 item combo, MSGest, Chinese-American food to go in the universe! Plenty of sriracha on the tables, just ask for chopsticks and you’re good to go! Cash only.

Big portions, recent increase in prices, gassy/greasy. Uneasy feeling after eating. Good if you’re hungry and crave Chinese

This place is located in a big complex that has a few restaurants an grocery stores. It’s known for it’s extremely cheap Chinese food! I know many people don’t like it because I’m sure you can get quality food somewhere better even if it means spending a few bucks. I don’t have a problem with it because all I get is the chowmein or fried rice. The fried rice is okaaaay. I’ve definitely had better. But the chow mein is relatively decent especially for the price it’s at. Again if you want quality Chinese food go somewhere else but if you’re looking to save a few bucks you can’t go completely wrong!

Stopped by for lunch a couple of days ago knowing fully well what to expect. Encountered a small but fast moving line at peak lunch time. Got the two item combo($ 6.39) which comes with rice, noodles, two dishes from the buffet style serving station and a drink which can be substituted for hot and sour or egg drop soup. Went with the orange chicken and beef broccoli as the two items and got the hot and sour soup in place of the drink. The orange chicken was spot on, but the broccoli could have been steamed a little better and the beef could have been a little less chewy but it was all right. The hot and sour soup was loaded with a lot of tofu and tasted slightly better than flat. All in at $ 7 is a pretty good deal for slightly better than OK Chinese food along with a drink so Hong Kong express fulfills the occasional craving for greasy food successfully. One significant drawback is that it is cash only.

I called in at lunch for an office order, they told me it’s not necessary and to just come in. Came in and ordered a few large sides of entrees and sides. Maybe because a line formed behind us, but the large portion scooped from the hot tray barely filled half the box. You’re better off getting the combos, seems like they scoop more in there. The WORST part was, after I was rushed to pay for my 6 boxes of food, I asked for 10 paper plates, the old lady asked me again how many I needed, I said 10… And she told me to give her $ 1!!! «$ 1 for 10 paper plates». When my co worker and I looked at each other, and asked if she was serious, she said yes, and began to walk away! Talk about BADBUSINESS, she didn’t even give us utensils to eat with,(she probably was gonna charge us for that too.) We were furious. I work at a very large business building nearby, we will never be ordering department lunches from this place again.

Nothing great. Found this place on Unilocal cause I was craving some Chinese fast food and this came up as well as others but I went with this one. Anyways… Arrived at the place, not many options as other places. Food didn’t look as appetizing and it looked like its been sitting there for a few days, but oh well, I was starving and starvation can make you do some crazy stuff sometimes. Got to the counter and the Asian lady behind it looked so happy to help me out… Not! I kinda stood there for a couple of minutes before she snapped out of her dejavu moment… Long story short, skimpy portions, mediocre food, and crappy service. Maybe it’s this darn heat. Oh well who knows, not coming back unless I want crappy eggrolls and service. :)
