Gave it one more try this weekend. Same problem. They put the order in wrong and expect you to sit there waiting for 20 minutes while they remake.

Pizza and sandwiches are good! The Mountain Pizza has a LOT of crust, good, but too much bread for me. The regular crust pizza is better(in my opinion). Certainly worth going back to keep trying different pies!

For years I passed by the one in Idaho springs and have always wanted to check it out so I was excited to see that there was one near where I just moved to. My boyfriend and I finally decided to check it out. We got there at the perfect time(Saturday, 4:30/5) right before it started to get busy. We were sat by a really nice young lady. Our waiter was very friendly and open to suggesting cool things about the menu. We got the chips and queso because we were SO hungry! Queso was delicious. We got the Lil Italy pizza, mountain pie crust. We wanted to try what they we’re known for. While it was good, it’s almost like you’re just eating crust, there’s practically no pizza to it. I would definitely go back but I would try the other types of pizza/crust that they offer. Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed trying the food

What happened to Beau Jo’s? Worst pizza ever. Served cold with sauce that tasted like ketchup watered down. How did the serve not see how cold and old the cheese was? We ordered the peach pizza for dessert.. The waiter noticed it was missing the topping that was supposed to be bakes in… ANDLEFT it. He brought a side of the topping — not the same. Soup and Salad bar was missing the soup — they«didn’t around to it in the morning» though the menu advertised soup and salad… Great service otherwise. So sad, this was a favorite coming home from skiing back in the day. Reputation alone did not suffice this time.

The atmosphere and employees are nice. The food is not good. This is the second time we’ve had their pizza and it was very underwhelming. We also ordered chips and salsa and were brought something from the sale section of the grocery store.

We visited with some family that were in town. I’ll admit that when I think of Denver’s foodie scene, Beau Jo’s is the last place I want to go, but they’re the typical suburban family so we figured we’d give it a shot. Sundays are crazy busy at this location, but the $ 3 blood mary’s make up for lost time. On to the meal… The salad bar is pretty jinky & sub-par so I’d give a 1.5. It’s your standard iceberg lettuce and garden salad staples(tomatoes, green peppers, ranch, you know the drill). On to the apps — we had the wings. Another decent option. I’d go with the buffalo sauce if you know what’s good for ya. And lastly, the main course — Pizza! That’s what everyone comes here for, right? We went all out, mountain style. The dough is tasty, but make sure you finish it off with honey(that seems to add all of the flavor). For being as busy as they were, the service was decent. We were seated in about 15 – 20 minutes, although we probably would’ve been seated quicker if the hostess had taken our information when we first walked in instead of assuming we’d get a table right away. Not sure I’d go back on my own accord, but if family were in town I’d take them again.

I was told to give Beau Jo’s a try from a buddy who grew up in Denver. He quipped that Beau Jo’s pizza made its start all the way out in Idaho Springs, but since then, has become very much a Colorado thing. The whole«mountain pie» concept with the thick honey crust was a bit strange to me, but after trying Beau Jo’s, I was pretty impressed. Apparently, there was a lunch buffet for about $ 10, which come with a salad bar. Not too bad, although you kinda have to wonder about the freshness and variety of everything. We opted to go for freshly baked pies, although $ 10 seems like a pretty decent value. We got the Hearty Arty, which was basically spinach artichoke dip in a bread bowl, but in a mountain pie pizza crust. It came with tortilla chips and we added the side of garlic bread to dip as well. The dip was pretty good, and coupled with the garlic bread, a pretty hearty appetizer indeed. Then came the pies. We got the Mother Lode(sort of like a meat lovers pizza), Skier Mike(chicken, Canadian bacon, peppers), and a garlic veggie combo(white pizza). All of the pies were pretty good, and the waitress came by with some honey to dip our leftover crust. And boy, was there a LOT of leftover crust. The pizzas were loaded in the middle with ingredients, but after a while, the glut of mozzarella cheese began to congeal a little too fast, and the texture got a little too rubbery. In all, the food all tasted pretty good, but I had some reservations about the quality of the ingredients. Service was very attentive, and it didn’t take long for the pies to come out, contrary to our belief. I anticipated the the pies to take as long as Chicago deep dish, but they came out after about 15 minutes. Not too shabby. The prices for each pie are pretty competitive. The 1-pounder pies($ 10) can easily feed 2 people, and if you add an appetizer, you’ll easily leave satisfied. Not sure if I would come back any time soon, but I’m very glad I got to try Beau Jo’s for its unique take on pizza. If you’re a carb lover or if you really just have pride in this Colorado institution, this place is definitely for you. You can definitely get a decent meal at a good price, and sometimes that’s all you’re looking for.

Before visiting my friend in Colorado, I began researching if Colorado was known for any types of food. Beau Jo’s came up in a list of foods to try so when my friend recommended we try it together for the first time, I was totally down to see what the crust and honey was all about. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms which was a ceramic bowl filled with mushroom caps stuffed with cream cheese, spinach and baked with tons of melted fontina-provolone cheese. It basically tasted like mushrooms baked in a lot of gooey, chewy cheese! They added some lemon slices on the side which actually add a little zest to the dish. My friend and I really wanted to try the mountain pie which is a pie topped with many ingredients which are then rolled into the pizza crust edge. We decided to do a half and half mountain pie. The pizza is charged by the weight so we got a 1 pounder of the Arugulove(garlic cream sauce, arugula, chicken, sundried tomatoes and mozzarella cheese) and Pesto Chicken(basil and pesto sauce, chicken, roma tomatoes, provolone, cheddar, mozzarella, Parmesan and fresh basil). The pesto had a bit more flavor than the Arugulove but we finished it all. Although I’m not normally one to eat pizza crusts, Beau Jo’s will give you real honey to squeeze on to your crust and eat. We ate it all and I would eat it again. Service here was wonderful. Our waitress, whose name has escaped me, checked on us the right amount of times to refill our water glasses and to make sure there wasn’t anything else we wanted. We were stuffed by the time we left. A good stuffed :)

It has been a few years since I have been here. The last time was when they were still at the 80th Wadsworth location. Was pleasantly surprised upon walking in with the lighting, décor and everyone looking like they were having a good time. The menu has been updated since I last saw the menu. We started off with the stuffed mushrooms. So much cheese which made me very happy. It does become a little rubbery when the dish cools off. Next, we had the antipasto salad which really hit the spot. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, just the right amount of toppings and the dressing was great! We ordered the original pizza and were happy with our choice. The entire meal was great and our waitress, Racheal, was amazing. We will be back!

I am a pizza connoisseur and this place was horrible from beginning to end. When I sat down to the bar the lady didn’t give me a menu or a drink for 10 minutes. When I finally got my food, the food was bland, underseasoned(seriously lacking salt), and the novelty of adding honey to the crust didn’t enhance my experience. If they corrected the service and the food this concept would be fine. At the end of my meal the server must’ve read the review and she was very rude when she handed me the receipt. This just shows pettiness instead of trying to make the my experience better. Server name: Leah

I had a great time and great meal here. Service was super friendly and helpful without being overly intrusive. Stuffed mushrooms — essentially a dish of melty cheese with a few mushrooms thrown in the mix… who’s complaining. Cheese got a little rubbery towards the end as it cooled off. Pesto chicken mountain pie was delicious, nice basil flavor. Arugulove mountain pie also very tasty, not quite as much flavor as the pesto pie. Eating the crust at the end with honey was a perfect end to the meal. YUM!

I really liked the pizza here! We ordered the new don pizza and our friends created their own mountain pie. They give you honey to put on the crust, I thought that was a great idea. The cheese baked on top meshed everything together so it made it difficult to get a clean bite. Got fed up half way and used utensils. The pizza overall was good though. We also got the cheesy garlic bread. For the price I was expecting more, we only got a few little pieces. It was good but the portion for price ratio was disappointing. Try this place out if you’re in the area, it’s pretty empty even on football Sunday.

Well Colorado certainly maximizes its pizza eating experience. The Colorado-style pizza crust is meant to be eaten with delicious honey– essentially dessert at the end of every slice. GEEEENIUS. Customized turkey pepperoni pizza was quite good. Also very kid friendly. Our server was cool about weird kid-related requests. Will definitely stop here again on our next trip!

The atmosphere is nice. The customer service is friendly. The food is dull and overpriced. I want to like Beau Joe’s and support the local guy, but I don’t need to go back again. The pizza isn’t good. Sorry.

Good food — went with my three younger boys and the server was so patient and kind every time I requested more napkins or Anything. He kept the drinks full. I wish I would’ve remembered my receipt or got his name because it’s probably the best service I’ve had in a long time. Now, we arrived just after the dinner rush and I feel it took way too long to get our food. They may need to look into getting more piZza ovens or something. My son ordered the kids Mac and cheese and I was disappointed to find out it was comparable to Kraft boxed Mac and cheese. The only difference was it cost $ 5! It also came with a fruit cup. I felt the price for that was incredibly ridiculous. At least put some fresh fruit on the plate from the salad bar! Overall a good experience and will go back, but I won’t let my son order the Mac and cheese!

Pizza has some potential, but from someone who is used to Chicago deep dish, this just didn’t cut it for me. The crust has a decent amount of flavor and although I’m not a big honey guy, I would recommend adding it to the crust as a dessert. The sauce needs some work, it’s too watery and lacks consistency. Adding higher quality ingredients(meats) would bring this pizza up a huge notch and for the price you pay, I can’t imagine that it would raise food cost too much. Overall, it’s okay and I would eat it again if I had to, but wouldn’t be my first choice. Side note: the house pale ale was very good, I do recommend having a beer or two if there.

We ordered a take-out for a party happening at my place. Having had the Beau Joe’s in Idaho Springs, we had high expectations but were ‘warned’ by friends that the quality of the pies are very different in different stores. We chose Beau Jo’s because of their gluten free selection. The server who took my call felt like she was rushing the order, but I gave her my order anyway– 1 gluten free pie, 1 make-my-own 3lb mountain pie. I was ordering from a menu downloaded from the website and it had no prices– I didn’t think that much about it, figuring that it was going to be OK. The server confirmed my order but didn’t give me a total price. I thought that was weird didn’t think much of it. A friend of mine picked up the order and brought it over to the party. When we opened both pizzas we knew that they had taken the wrong order– our gluten free pie looked too dough-y to be gluten free. We also discovered that the add-ons for the 3lb pie amounted to a $ 40 pizza– which came as a bit of a rude shock. We called in to explain the mistake and also to feedback that they really should tell us prices when we are building our own pizza. We had to make more food for my gluten– free friends and the rest of us munched on the $ 40 pie in dismay. The supervisor on hand was new and couldn’t really refund or help us out, We were all pretty upset by the experience but decided to make the best out of it anyway. The pizza itself was OK– the crust was so-so and not as delicious as the ones we’ve had in Idaho Springs for sure. The next day, the store manager Richard called us and apologized– he was fantastic and kind to us and got us a gift card to make up for the mistake. Five stars to Richard, the manager at the store for doing his job well. After the phone conversation, I was willing to give Beau Joe’s another try, but this time round, we might stick to the ‘original’ Beau Jo’s in Idaho Springs.

Our family loves it here. I used to go to bea jo’s many, many years ago in high school. And I was so excited when I moved back here 15 years later to find out bea jo’s is still around. Of course I’ll always have an attachment to the one in Idaho Springs, yet this one is just as delicious. We had a hard time deciding how much to order for the 5 of us but we’ve got it down now. We’re totally in love with the thick style pizza. Dip the crust in their honey & I’m in heaven. Their all you can eat salad bar is a favorite among the kids(and adults). The veggies are fresh & good. We ordered chicken wings for the first time, I don’t care for hot wings but the 2 in our group that do devoured them. All and all it’s a great place for us with salad, pizza, honey and now wings. We’d come here more often if we lived closer

I’ve only ever gotten take out from Beau Jo’s, but it’s delish! I love that they have heir gluten free and dairy free pizza options for my picky friends. And their gluten free dough is actually really good. I love to smother my pizzas in veggies. The cashiers are always friendly and show you your pizza before you leave to make sure you’re satisfied.
