We used to love this place as a favorite breakfast spot in Olde Town Arvada, but lately the food has gone down hill. A couple of times the potatoes were rancid, the place needs better ventilation, because I come out of there smelling like a grease vat. The ambiance is nice and they do have patio space, so if you have a dog in the summer it’s a good spot. However, I’d recommend the back patio(dogs must be parked outside the patio), as the front patio is really noisy with traffic. I used to like the Boulder Benedict, but haven’t frequented this place in awhile.

Overall, this place was very strange. I was in and out within less than 25 minutes. It took a while to order and a few minutes for the dish to come out, a few seconds to decide that I didn’t like the dish, and a majority of the time I spent there was trying to figure out how to leave the place leaving behind with a full plate of food and not look like a jerk. The eggs benedict… I really feel bad for saying that this was the worst eggs benedict I’ve ever had. The hollandaise sauce tasted like salted butter mixed with water with the exact same consistency of water. It was disgusting. The meat served on the benedict was tough and on top of the poached eggs. The dish was out within 5 or 6 minutes of ordering which explains the poor execution. Oh, the interior needs a major facelift. And I feel guilty for writing this review, but its nothing short of truthful. This place looks and feels like it has just given up. It’s hard to describe, but the atmosphere isn’t lively like other breakfast places. It just looks and feels sad, with the staff not really looking engaged either. Maybe again in the future, but not likely.

I thought the blueberry pancakes were pretty good. My girlfriend decided she liked them too so we swapped and I ate her burrito instead. I knew this was a win win scenario though. Since the pancakes were large and fluffy I would get a second chance at them. My gamble payed off, I got a burrito smothered in green chilli, pancakes, and a large side of bacon. It was well played and I was so full I skipped lunch.

It’s too bad places like this still exist. No execution, corned beef is definitely out of a can. It’s over priced and dirty, complete with old sticky booth seats and table tops. Service is sub par. Stop supporting it just because it’s the only thing around. This place will be gone soon.

Best breakfast in Arvada. Quality food and reasonably priced. The location is prime and the atmosphere is nice. Great renovations. Full bar and delicious specialty drinks. In the summer, the two patios with outdoor bars are awesome.

Ordered the blueberry pancakes and it was just so-so. They did let me redeem the speciality drink offer through Unilocal.I liked that.

We have been here multiple times for brunch and Eggshell never disappoints. The food is always delicious and service is friendly and prompt. Our favorites are the Dublin Benedict, Crepes and the Quiches. Also, every time we get the French toast bites for the table to share and they are just delicious.

I’ve never been to brunch place where I’ve needed to retrieve my own drinks, straw, and my food came before I got my Bloody Mary. You have one job girl and four tables, get it together and take Adderall like the rest of your kind. Thankfully I didn’t choke on my food, I would’ve needed to steal another’s persons water from another table. The food was mediocre at best, but the buss boy is quick. Best part of my meal was when my Bloody Mary arrived and she ever so kindly dumped it down my leg! I will not be coming back here, I get better service at Jack in the Box. It’s not worth the full star!

I know that this place has very mixed reviews, but I went on a Saturday morning and there wasn’t a wait, the service was fine and the food was pretty good. They have a very diverse offering which means that they do a lot well, but nothing great. I’d still go back.

There is a 20 minute wait because there is no other breakfast place I’m all for crappy little breakfast places. But this place was way to crappy. Bad coffee Cold food covered and cheap unmelted cheese My six year old could probably make better potatoes Waitress was nice.

Attempted to redeem the free specialty drink(hot chocolate) with my Unilocal check-in but staff said it wasn’t valid. However, if I ‘liked’ the restaurant via another social media outlet the offer would be valid. Either way I got a free hot chocolate to start off the meal. It was delicious and left a whipped cream mustache on my gob. I came for breakfast and biscuits and gravy was on my mind. I ordered the hearty man biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and sheepherder potatoes. The potatoes were crispy but dry and underspiced. I did not finish them. The B&G were standard. The biscuit was fluffy and homemade. The gravy was peppery which is good. The atmosphere was good. They can really pack the people in here. Plenty of seating for large or small groups. Eggshell has been serving breakfast since 1988. Overall the service was good. The meal was ok. The staff was nice and prompt. The menu had many breakfast and lunch offerings. One can even get quarts of green chili to go! When in Olde Town Arvada one must give it a try. You’ll be glad you did.

This just proves location is everything. Mediocre food, overpriced and the place is packed. Service was extremely slow. Ordered 2 coffees and waters. Received 1 coffee and water. Asked for the other coffee, got it ten minutes later. Canned hollandaise sauce. Will not be back.

My food was actually pretty good. I had big fluffy wheat germ pancakes, and my friend had an egg skillet dish of some sort. My side of sausage probably should have been cooked longer, so that weirded me out and I didn’t finish it. I found the pricing reasonable. The building interior and décor could certainly use some work. The waitress was nice but also my biggest gripe. They were slammed and clearly understaffed. She was running to and fro like a chicken with her head cut off. We spent the majority of our meals without drinks. Not even a water. I was able to grab her attention and order my drink, at which point she turned and bolted, without taking my friend’s drink order even as we called after her. At one point a guy eating alone near us gave us «me too» eyes as he was unable to grab her either. The other part that annoyed me was that when we presented our Unilocal discounts from checking-in she got incredibly defensive and began to slander Unilocal.«WE aren’t a part of Unilocal. No That’s not us. WE didn’t post that. They just put that up there without asking» etc. …um ok have you ever told Unilocal to take it down? Because they don’t just post those things because they feel like it… I found it very off putting for a company to be so aggressive against another due to ignorance. And I’m sure they act that way every time it’s presented.

The last time I went to the eggshell, I ordered the country fried steak skillet. The breakfast was very tasty with plenty of country gravy smothering perfectly prepared country fried steak. The potatoes were cooked well and had a crisp golden brown crust. The eggs were just as I asked for(over easy) but they were nothing special. I left the restaurant very full which is always a pleasant feeling especially for about 10 bucks. My waitress was a joy to work with and offered prompt service and kept my coffee nice and full.
