Number 5 double burger combo has been my staple for many years. REALLY going to miss them. RIP Griff’s.

Griff’s is an institution. It has been her forever and soon will be gone. They make great burgers and sandwiches. Great food, decent prices. It will be sad to see them gone.

I would love to give them a better review because their burgers are delicious, but i cant honestly give them more than 1 star because of extremely poor customer service, and insane wait times. Ive sat in line at the drivethru at times for over 10 minutes, and theyre lucky to have served even one order in that time. Do they wait until after you pay to start cooking the food? I was able to leave my place in line, drive across the street to Arbys, order, pay, and then drive away with better quality food before Griffs was able to serve the two cars that were in front of me. I am DONE with this location. These mployees must be the rejects from the worst McDonalds in the state down off of Wadsworth and 53rd.

TWENTYONE minutes in the drive through line with ONE car ahead of me. I nearly drove away, but a perverted desire to see how much worse it could get tempted me to stay. I found out when I bit into my now-cold burger. Geez — wave the slow order to a parking place and don’t leave food dying in the window!

Waited over 20min in the drive through with 4 cars in front of me. My burger was ok, but over cooked and cold. Couldn’t drink my shake on the way home since they didn’t give me a straw, it was good. I might go back but only if I’ve got some time on my hands.

Are you a really patient person? Like the kind who can watch a seed grow into a plant in one sitting? Or like the kind who dates for 5 years before you finally get laid? If so then go to Griffs because thats how long it will take you to get your food. I won’t even complain about the greasy food, the outdated décor, the impossibility of turning your truck up to the drive thru window or the median IQ of the staff… because I used to love that quirkiness and comedy. What I will complain about is the incomprehensible time it takes to do whatever it is they do to get the food to the bag to the car. You could invent the burger in less time then it takes Griffs to cook or microwave or slow motion spit in your food or whatever it is they do. Whoever runs this greasy hole should be chased out of town with pitchforks and torches along with their molasses blooded workers. I could cook a seven course meal with a magnifying glass and the suns rays in the same time it takes you to scrawl down my order. Pathetic. Beyond pathetic.

Used to be home of the big bun. Now home of the 2⁄3 size bun with lots of lettuce to make up for the smaller size

I have to say, my opinion of griff’s has started to dwindle. I could count on them for southwest cheddar spuds, but my last few experiences with them have irritated me. A couple weeks ago, I got my usual cheddar spuds and got home and they seriously gave me a side of ranch that LITERALLY had drops in the cup. I had ranch at the house but that’s not the point. I understand everyone needs to cut corners(but really our economy is doing well so don’t think that’s necessary anymore). Now fast forward to last night(a week night so not a huge weekend rush) Now granted, I did place a huge order to go, double cheeseburger, single cheeseburger, junkyard dog, kids corn dog meal with fries drink, 20 count of southwest cheddar spuds, onion rings and fried mushrooms. I did wait a while for the order, ok I get it all orders are made at the time you order, but when I got home my fries were cold, my onion rings were cold and they completely missed a burger. Sure things happen mistakes are made, I ate my hot fried mushrooms and went back to get my missing hamburger. I brought my receipt and spoke to someone at the counter. They ACTUALLY argued with me, and told me I was mistaken. Wha? I come here all the time, you seriously are going to treat your neighbor this way? They guy actually told me I had to be mistaken, they gave me the correct order and there wasn’t anything they were going to do about it. Well I really couldn’t believe what I was hearing and I told the guy I had family visiting and everyone at my house were eating without me. He didn’t care and continued to argue with me and tell me he would offer me a single burger. That was the only burger I had in my order when I went home. So not only did they treat me badly, argue with me in front of other customers, but they really went out of their way to make me feel like I was the one in the wrong. I seriously will have to stop coming here because I was shocked with how they treated me. I used to be a regular but I will bring my business elsewhere. The only reason I didn’t give them a 1 star, was because they really did make my friend mushrooms as I was waiting. because that was the only item that was hot when I got home.

Considering this isn’t McDonalds or the like, I don’t expect ultra speedy service. However, there have been multiple times that I had to wait on the food for extend periods of time, and then receive a burger that had clearly been sitting for some time. Its not a «clean» or up to date fast food joint, but if you get it on the right day you may get a decent burger.

Slow. Don’t bother with the drive through because it is all made to order. The food and prices are outstanding. Fun little burger find.

This is my first review since moving to Denver. This evening I decided to try some local fast food in Old Town. Huge mistake coming here. The first thing I noticed was the absolutely filthy drive-thru menu/order area. 8pm at night and I’m seeing flies around the speaker. Bad Omen. I get to the drive in window and was overpowered by the smell of very, very old grease. Think grease-trap that hasn’t been cleaned in a few weeks — that’s the smell. Disgusting. I was greeted by an order taker in a food spattered polo shirt. The inside of the restaurant, visible from the drive-thru window. is noticeably dirty — same for the window area itself. As I watched the employees put a big bag of goop into the shake machine to make my «shake» I realized that I was flirting with the possibility of at best the very worst burger I have ever eaten and at worst quite possibly a severe case of food poisoning. Overpowered by the awful grease smell I did not even ask for my money back and just drove away without picking up my order. There was an Arby’s right across the street — four cars waiting in line at the drive-thru. That’s right — at an Arby’s. Griff’s was utterly vacant — nobody there. That should have told me something right there. I have no more words save for«don’t… just don’t».

I would give negative or zero stars if that were possible. This restaurant is DIRTY — the floors, tables, benches, even ordering counter. Trash all over the floor, overflowing trash cans, and the«help» standing around behind the counter like that’s all OK. Burger was borderline — nothing really bad about it but nothing good either. It was mediocre at best, served after a too-long wait. I felt like I needed to take a bath after leaving here. DIRTYDIRTYDIRTY. I would hate to see the kitchen! STAYAWAY.

The retro creepy clown makes this place. And the burgers are very good in an old fashioned drive in way. Certainly not gourmet, but reasonably flavorful. But the lack of fresh fries is troubling. I cant’ stand air filled frozen fries and that’s what they serve. Also, if you pay by credit you have to sign a form on a little clipboard circa 1988.

Griff’s Hamburgers is from another era well before my lifetime, but makes me long to have experienced it. Griff’s is a regional fast food chain founded in 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri. At one time they had locations nationwide, with the majority in the South. Nowadays only a couple handfuls of Griff’s remain, mostly in Texas, with 2 locations in the Denver area(S. Broadway at I-25 and in Arvada). The nostalgia really hits home when you’re at Griff’s. It’s from the beginnings of the fast food era, but the key is that it hasn’t changed/evolved like all of the other fast food chains that started out in the 1960s. And that’s a good thing. The A-Frame building, the hard plastic booths, the pictures on the menu. You’re used to it by now, but Griff’s just feels different. It feels better. As for their classic«Double Giant Cheeseburger», it tastes like what you would imagine. Unfortunately it’s undoing is the two thin patties of overcooked ground beef that was preformed weeks ago, but it’s still very good. I’d take Griff’s over a national fast food chain cheeseburger any day of the week.

random little spot that my boyfriend heard about, we happened to be in Arvada so we went. total old school mom/pop shop — drive through had a bit of a line despite there only being two cars — but it was worth it! coke with CRUSHED ice(wish more places did this) thick milkshakes, thinner/crispy fries(a bit greasy but meh) and AMAZINGHUGEBURGERS! we thought we ordered regular but ended up with doubles! didn’t go inside so cant comment much about that, but overall its a decent price for some great food at a non commercial place

I was totally unimpressed the staff didn’t pay much attention to us and acted like we were bothering them when we went in because they had no one there — I’m not surprised. I was told their food was great and that it was similar to In & Out’s which couldn’t have been farther from the truth. My burger didn’t come how I ordered it so I had to pick off the things I didn’t want. There was so much mustard on it I couldn’t taste the burger which was thin and over cooked and tasted like it was likely sitting for a while. My fries were so gross I only ate a few of them. Only saving grace was that the drink was a nice size and easily helped me drown out the nasty taste of my food… I would not go here again
