My complaint with this location remains the same, great food, lousy atmosphe and service. I called ahead and made my order. They said 10 minutes and that’s about how long it took me. After waiting for 5 minutes I paid and sat down to wait, and wait, 15 minutes later I got my food. The place was not busy, three servers. The Menudo was terrific but the place is a dump, dark and dingy. But I will be back for the f

We arrived here last Saturday a few minutes after 11am and could not order breakfast burritos, which was sad — they are strict about their cut off! We’d tried finding a closer location near us but had trouble, which is why we ended up here in the first place. Womp womp. We chose different burritos and waited maybe five minutes or so until our piping hot hangover savers were brought out to us. I am actually a way bigger fan of a regular bean, cheese and green chile burrito over a breakfast burrito anyway and theirs is just delicious. Half and half green chile is the way to go! $ 2.50, can’t beat it. My husband enjoyed his version with tender carnitas. This place was large inside with quite a lot of seating compared to other locations.

Terrible service and terrible food I mean look at their puke pictures. Authentic my ass! My grandmother wrote a book on authentic Mexican food, this is shit food that people just settle for. What a disgrace. Before you open a restaurant maybe you should have people who matter taste this food, so they can spit it out in front of you and then maybe you will realize wow my food does suck. Children running the place haha very funny, constantly texting and on the phone.

I give this particular santiagos no stars. I have given them way too many second chances. The call ahead is a joke! They never enter your order until you arrive. I’ve only ordered breakfast burritos from this location and always wait upward of 15min. The staff have the biggest attitudes and scorned me for using a credit card. «Well you better leave a tip» she said. No sense of urgency from the kitchen staff or front of house. That 15 min window is accurate with only a few people present. I’ve called ahead, waited half an hour and arrived to pick up my order, with a full house. Ended up waiting a half an hour on top of that at the restaurant. I now drive to the santiagos on federal and just south Speer. They have a drive through and their food is on point. The santiagos name should be removed from the Arvada store, and torn down like every other building in the area!!!

Their take-out service is terrible: Like many other reviewers, I can honestly say I’ve never had a good Take-Out experience. I called in an order at 1:00; they said«20 minutes«. At 1:35 I showed up to pick it up, & they had me pay & wait for another 20 minutes. As other people have reviewed, I truly believe they wait until you show up before they even think about starting your order. Not a busy time of day, either. Made me late for work. There are too many other restaurants in the area for this to be acceptable. Not sure how they stay in business.

Food is always very good. My gripe is with the service in the restaurant and especially when phoning ahead for take-out. We have ordered take-out ten times from this Santiago’s in Arvada and at least six times at the Santiago’s in Golden which I believe are owned by the same family. All ten times we were told regardless of the day of the week or time of day that our order would be ready in 20 minutes. Every single time we have been forced to wait at least fifteen minutes or more for the order to be completed after the twenty minutes travel time to the restaurant. I don’t understand. I assume most of this stuff sits in various big pots and can be put together in the promised twenty minutes. Even Taco Bell can sling fifty menu items in three to five minutes. I suspect Santiago’s doesn’t even begin to assemble the order until you walk though the door and prove you are there. I have had enough with the Santiago’s games and will direct our business to Tequila’s, El Señor Sol and Las Potrancas. The other menus are as good or better, the selection is better and the interior of the other restaurants is far superior. Maybe the new Walmart will start serving Mexican food when they open and complete the take-out orders when promised.

The staff is nice however, not very«on it» for a lack of better words, and food is descent but other santiago locations are better. Ordered a beef n bean burrito they said 15 minutes… its now 30 minutes. I think this location needs some better management… Update: Alright grand total was a 40 minute wait when I was told 15 min. I have to take my dog out! Lol get it together peeps… change it up! Want to bring you my business! Four other loyal customers waiting were also complaining… not cool at all

My coworker ordered 3 enchiladas smothered with green chili, which was supposed to be $ 5.50. The order was legibly written and clearly ordered. I was instead given 3 terrible beef burritos, which cost me $ 16.00. When I called to voice my concerns, I was told a manager was not there. I explained my situation to Alicia, who was argumentative and unprofessional, not even offering to make it right. Didn’t even acknowledge me as a customer. Kept saying, «IT’S NOTMYFAULTYOUMESSEDUPYOUROWNORDER.» She also stated, «If you want to argue, I’ll just hang up!”(which she did) WORSTCUSTOMERSERVICE I’VEEVEREXPERIENCED. The food was less than dive bar grade slop. Slimy green chili; a disgrace to CO. BAD, BADBAD.

Don’t know what it was but today was just awful, came in with my boyfriend to get some breakfast burritos and I honestly wished we would have ordered off the dollar menu at mcdonalds instead. l ordered a breakfast burrito with no meat and HOT green chili smothered. they keep asking if you want cheese because apparently you have to pay extra for cheese now. whatever. My boyfriend wanted his smothered with half and half with cheese. We got our burritos and my chili was mild. not even half and half while my boyfriend could barely eat his because it was burning hot green chili. I basically just scraped his chili onto my burrito. He said he didn’t have ANY bacon and he had way too much egg. My burrito only had egg, a few potatoes and NO cheese I repeat NOCHEESE. About 2 bites into my burrito it was cold, like room temperature. It’s currently 14 degrees outside and cold food irritates me beyond belief. We’re in the middle of a winter freeze and you can’t heat up the tortilla first before you over stuff it with eggs? I really thought the bill was going to be around $ 8 with change. Nope wrong again. For two breakfast burritos, smothered, with cheese it was $ 9.45. I couldn’t believe It’s that much for 2 sorry ass breakfast burritos with the wrong chili and no cheese. I will purchase my own santiagos chili at Kings soopers and make my own burritos at home from now on. I recommend you do the same.

This location is INCREDIBLY lucky they have good cooks in the back. The food is incredibly consistent and good everytime-dine in or to go. But the service at this restaurant is baffling. Most of the time the cashiers are smiling, but thats the only compliment I have for the front of house. I only see two waitresses/cashiers/food runners no matter what time I go in. Sorry but there must be no manager at this location. Either that or the manager is money hungry and keeps their labor costs far below what they should be. I manage a restaurant and I would be embarrassed if i read these reviews about my restaurant. Half the time the phone goes to voicemail. When I do go in because i cant place a call in order i wait 45 minutes for food. Even when i call in i usually wait half an hour or so. This location is extremely inconsistent. Whoever is in charge in the back of house is doing something right.

If I could rate this place with zero stars, I would. The customer service is pathetic and they have no idea how to run a restaurant that sells $ 2 breakfast burritos that should be made quickly, to be almost like fast food. I went in this morning to order 2 breakfast burritos, the line had about 3 people ahead of me and about 7 people waiting to pick up their order. I thought this was no big deal because i have been to almost every Santiago’s between Castle Rock to Commerce City, but I was mistaken. I waited for 40 minutes while watching the two incompetent ladies run around trying to take orders along with bring out food. Instead of giving people their food as it was ready, they wait until 5 orders are filled and then bring out all at once. Long story short, I left after 40 minutes waiting without my food and just got a refund. I will never go back to this Santiago’s. Update: After also posting a complaint to their website, I received a call from a manager who told me that the owner was very upset about what happened and I would be getting a personal email from her but that never happened. I also could go pick up a $ 20 gift card for the inconvenience but I will not be doing that since the manager who called me just apologized about the wait and mentioned nothing about fixing the problem. She was also working that day and was the one who gave me my money back.

I usually come here because the food is great. But I will never go back to this nasty place again. My last experience was awful… Who wants smothered fries with no chicharrone on top??? Not me!!! The fries taste plain as hell yuk!!! I ordered a carnitas burrito and I also ordered chicharrone on top of my burrito and I didn’t get that on top either… But I ordered it and paid for it!!! Also who in the hell wants to eat nothing but nasty chewy gooey fat of carnitas??? Not me!!! This place is just nasty. They need to step it up for their brand bc it’s all about the reputation of the brand… I will not be traveling from Denver to Arvada to go to this nasty place!!! I’d rather go to the Santiagos In north Denver off of federal!!! They trim he fat off of everything!!! And the get the order right and is definitely way better and more fresh!!! Don’t go to Santiagos in Arvada Yuk!!!

Terrible customer service. We waited about 20 minutes at our table and never came to even get our drink order. They were busy but there were 2 servers and walked by us several times without acknowledging us. They saw us walk out and didn’t say a thing. Will never go to this location again!

The food and the green chili are very good but the service has really gone down hill since they opened. My girlfriend loves going there so I guess that’s why I keep going but every timewe go the service seems to get worse and worse. The food though is always great

Good breakfast burritos but terrible service. I’ve ordered for carry-out maybe 5 times and despite learning to arrive 5 – 10 minutes after promised time they are still never ready. I strongly suspect they don’t start preparing your order until you arrive because I’ve waited 20 minutes after arriving on time. The phone order is just an entry they do nothing with until you show up. Today the phone was busy for 10 minutes, then when I got through I was put on hold and they never picked up the phone. I left it on speaker phone just to see how long it would take and nothing even after 20 minutes. The whole place looks like it could use a good scrubbing down — I’m surprised Santiagos lets this place stay open because other locations are great as far as food quality and service. I’m done with this place.

Normally I am a huge fan of Santiago’s. The food is delicious and cheap, which makes it a regular stop for us in our hood. We are on a bowling league up in the Arvada area and we wanted to grab some food before it started. We saw the Santiago’s sign and decided to go with it because it’s normally reliable food. We arrived to an almost empty restaurant and the servers were hanging out at the bar area chatting and eating. I used to work in the service industry so I know when you have a chance to eat, you take it, but we weren’t acknowledged for a few minutes and just ended up grabbing a table. We were then awkwardly sitting there for a while with no menus, drinks, or anything. Finally she came over and brought us menus and got our drink orders. Right after taking the drink order, she asked us if we knew what we wanted within a minute of handing us menus. Not yet, we want to read it and maybe try something new. After a few minutes we ordered and the food came out really fast. It was really tasty until I saw a huge black hair in my tostada. It kinda put a damper on the rest of my meal after that. We love Santiago’s, but the service needs to be a little bit more there and I’m not a fan of eating hair.

Very good as always. The restaurant can be a bit dirty and the service questionable at times, but overall, it’s a decent place to grab some good Mexican food.

Awful. I’ve eaten at this location on 4 separate occasions hoping it would be better than the last. Each time I go the food is like warm and plates are cold, probably explains the cooler food. Chips and salsa are an extra charge and breakfast burritos not sold after 11am however the cover page with the breakfast menu doesn’t state a time. Everything tastes as though it was opened from a can or a bag. I’d bet the only thing actually made by hand is the green chili. I’d rather walk across the parking lot for a Gomez $ 1 burrito that has better flavor and actually hot.
