Never have been disappointed when I have been here. Have eaten my way through the menu and have found everything to be of exceptional quality and the pricing to be inline. They have something for everyone so it’s also great place to take non sushi eaters. I recommend sampling and sharing so you taste more of the menu.

A great little gem! I just moved here from Hawaii, and was pleasantly surprised by the great rolls. The shumai was a different take than I am used to, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Las Vegas and black pearl rolls! Don’t let the location fool you, and try this place! You won’t regret it.

Excellent. I hope they’re doing alright because it was super-easy to get seated on Mother’s Day. They gave us two pieces of cheesecake at the end to share with our two kids and said«Happy Mother’s Day» which was a perfect freebie to throw in(I wouldn’t go in expecting this, but I tend to rack up $ 40 – 50 in sushi just for myself, and in previous visits they would bring over a nice small serving of Mochi ice cream). I like bluefin /yellowfin tuna and yellowtail above all else and it’s hard to screw it up except by getting you sick(never happened to me anywhere) or having crazy small portions. Their rice(the actual«sushi» in «sushi») tastes a little more«thoughtful» with its use of vinegar and sugar than some of the chains like Mt. Fuji. When we bring our kids, they always bring the kid’s food out super-fast so that they don’t whine while you go through miso soup, appetizers(awesome mussels!), etc. Our kids rarely eat an entire kid’s meal by themselves at many establishments — this place is one of the few to actually offer to split the meal up when you only ask for one kid’s meal, and then you end up getting nice big portions anyway that probably are more than the single meal would’ve been, and they both manage to plow through it all :) I can’t remember the name of the rolls that I’ve tried beyond spicy tuna or yellowtail rolls, but I go for a specialty roll each time(not the same one, they have many) that have a mix of raw fish on the outside and roasted(like eel) or fried(scallop, soft crab, etc) elements, ideally with something spicy like Sriracha or toasty like Sesame-drizzly-goodness cutting any funky taste caused by Japanese Mayo, which I typically don’t like. But they also happen to use judiciously placed, fresh-tasting Japanese Mayo(in-house?) and never gives me that«rotten egg» undertone.

I am not a big sushi fan, but my husband kept nagging me to go and even drug me somewhat unwilling. I tried a few things and it seemed good, but my pallet isn’t really refined to the sophistication of sushi. It wasn’t bad but like every other California role and smoked salmon with cream cheese I wasn’t excited or convinced that this place was something special. However, friends of ours came into town and so we chose this place for a late night dinner. They had just spent 4 years in Japan and their sushi knowledge was convincing me of branching out. We got so much sushi which came out on thier large sushi boat and beautifully presented. I really enjoyed myself and in experimenting with more than the Americanized California Roll I was pleasantly surprised and even found a favorite sushi roll I look forward to having. I like that this place offers a wide variety of vegetarian options so you can try the different styles if the fish option frightens you. However they also have some great sea food options that are so subtle that you can get hooked amd not even know. I like this place and the experience is always good. A bit small, but nice ambiance and efficient staff.

We tried this place out for lunch today(Saturday). Pretty good service and décor. We ordered a bunch of sushi rolls, from fried to beef to spicy. All of the rolls we tried were delicious. We will be returning!

Look beyond the McDonald’s on the corner, and strain your eyes across a strip of typical suburban business and you’ll spy Sushi Aji. The Bento Box lunch was absolutely clutch with well-prepared Salmon Teriyaki, California Rolls, vegetables, and rice. At around $ 10, it was a heaping lot of food that honestly could have been enjoyed by two people. We tried a few other rolls and while they weren’t inventive or unique in any way, they were all quite tasty. The service was moderate to poor at times, though one or two waitresses were attempting to serve a full place on a weekend lunch service. While friendly, our waitress wasn’t particularly competent and the serving arrived much slower than expected. Ultimately, the food at Sushi Aji was unexpectedly good, and as a result I would not hesitate to return.

Don’t let the location fool you! Who would have thought you could find amazing sushi in a strip mall? But amazing it is! I was always the one in a group dining out that could take or leave sushi. This place has made me a convert! My two fav rolls are the volcano and chili roll. Small location but the wait usually isn’t too bad. Glad there’s finally a decent place to eat out in Arvada.

We frequent this little sushi joint, tucked in a small shopping center in Arvada. I’ve tried other sushi joints in Lakewood/Arvada, and I always end up back at Sushi Aji. Their service is good, the food is consistent, and their prices are very reasonable. I recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area! Tip: $ 5 off coupons are often on the back of the local King Soopers receipts

Surf and turf roll is a must try. Fresh and delicious. Service is great and the sushi chef wants to make things for us to try. Bento box lunch is great it is the same generous portions they have at dinner time. Other recommendations are the Seaweed salad, spicy crab salad, and lobster tempura roll. Pricing is average. The ambiance is great for a date or taking the family. Casual dress but you could get away with dressing up if you wish.

Very poor service. I was thrilled to see a sushi place opening minutes from my house here in Arvada. At first we loved the place(besides proximity). Décor if small is very modern and very appropriate for a sushi establishment. Fish was fresh, selection was average but services was friendly. We were regulars(me, my hubby and kid), I was there at least twice a week for lunch and/or dinner. I did not mind waiting in the small entryway when required but the service continued to decline. The owner seems to be in a bad mood all the time and is almost rude. Quality and size of Sushi(nagiri) and Sashimi also declined. But considering Sushi prices and frequency of my patronage I should at least get a smile when I come in to her restaurant.

Very small joint that’s for sure. The rolls we ordered were not over the top but we also only ordered one of the house rolls that I can’t remember. The regular rolls were rolled tightly though and did not fall apart. The yellow tail and tuna tasted fresh(as far as Colorado sea food goes) lol. Service was fair again nothing to rave about as we started are visit standing for a few minutes in the tight fitted entrance. But they weren’t horrible.

I love this little joint. It’s close to home and it’s really good sushi. My favorite rolls are Rocky Mountain roll and Las Vegas roll. I’ve brought both my sister and boyfriend and they both agree it’s good food! Worth a try!

The service is great, sushi is fresh, and they have great lunch deals. I’ve had the bentos, rolls, nigiri, and tempura shrimp here and all were expertly prepared and tasted great! I’m «duke» here for a reason. It’s my top lunch spot for sure!!!
