This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. The staff is incredibly frustrating. EVERY single time I stand in line at the one register they have open they direct me to self checkout. I loath self checkout which is why I specifically stand in line at the register. I have even tried to tell them I don’t want to go to self checkout and they don’t listen. A man behind me even said he would prefer a cashier and they didn’t listen to him either. And when I do need help at self checkout they aren’t friendly at all and make you wait forever. Also have to say that the people in the deli are the slowest sloths I have ever seen. Usually takes me 10 minutes or more just to get some lunch meat. On 2 occasions I have also found hairs in my lunch meat! Not sure if I can shop here anymore and that is saying a lot because I live right next to the store(quite literally, it takes me 30 seconds to walk there).

I have a love/hate relationship with this Harris Teeter. I’m not the biggest fan of Harris Teeter to begin with but find myself at this store at a few times a month. My biggest gripe is that its overpriced, and to get a store discount card you need to give your driver’s license number. They call it a «Vic» Card. Imagine my confusion my first time shopping at Harris Teeter and the checker kept asking for a Vic card I had ZERO idea what she was talking about. Yeah, well, to get some sale discounts, I’m not giving my driver’s license number out. But, there are ways around this… one of which is to ask to use the store card to get the sale prices. This store is dead. Which is why I love it. Its clean, and nicely maintained. There are never any lines, and I breeze through even after work with no issues. However, there’s a price to pay for that. The vegetables very often are old and not in good condition because of the low turnover. I’ve gone in a few times to grab broccoli or asparagus and find every bit is wilted. I can count 3 times as well that I’ve left and realized the checker didn’t put one of my bags in my cart. Frustrating! Is my love of no lines and an empty store enough to pay obnoxious prices and sub-par produce? Apparently.

This is the newest addition to the trio of Harris Teeter grocery stores in the Ashburn area. It’s actually so close to the other two — that I am not sure why they built this one here. In any case, it’s very modern, clean, and well maintained. I stopped in here one morning on my way to work in Reston to pick up some hot sauces and salad dressings to keep at work in our kitchen. I think I was the only customer in the store. I asked the cashier if they ever get busy. She replied in the evenings and on weekends business picks up.

This is probably one of the cleanest Harris Teeters I have been in. It opened this summer and looks much nicer on the inside than the Brambleton location. Plus, this one doesn’t have the obnoxious dinosaur ride in the front of the store that my kids try to climb on and beg me for coins at the other location we sometimes go to. The prices are still very high just like every other Harris Teeter I have been in. I try not to hit Harris Teeter unless it is for just one or two items.
