Ive lived here for over 2 years. At first it was ok. But I guess management changes all the time. The only people that are helpful are Yousif and a nice girl Alex. The place really is going down hill. People leave trash in the stairwell and by the elevators. Also if you live in a building with elevators you have to pay more but they never work. Esp in the winter time. The buildings are dirty and rusted. Management never apologizes for their mistakes and I’ve heard of people’s garage flooding and all their stuff being ruined and Stone ridge did not help them at all. Or people falling on icy stairs and again they did not want to help. The place is not a good one and they charge so much to live her. The rent has been raised significantly every year I’ve lived here. DO NOT LIVE HERE. THEY ARE CROOKS AND DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS.

Moved in few months ago, loving the community n the staff at the leasing office, everyone is very helpful, great place to live, reasonable prices, close to everything! Very happy with my decision!

Excellent front desk service and super quiet apartment complex. So far enjoying living here.

I haven’t lived in an apartment complex in some time, but I must say I love it so far at Stoneridge. It’s super close to One Loudoun and i enjoy my morning walks around property over looking the mountains. Overall a great place in value. The staff is very hospitality driven as well. They are always helpful with issues or questions I might have. So far so good guys!

The staff is great. They are pleasant to deal with. The maintenance crew is excellent. We have had nothing but great experiences since moving here.

Overall our experience has been excellent. Maintenance staff is terrific. We have lived here for 5 months. We were skeptical about renting as we have owned our own homes for many years. We downsized from 6000 sq ft to a 2 br and loft. We love it. We have a Golden Retriever and we have found the complex very pet friendly. Plenty of fields for him to run. Most people actually pick up after their dogs. This is interim as we look for a new home, but, we recommend as a great place to live.

Do yourself a favor and actually HEED the warnings about this apartment complex! I didn’t because I thought it looked nice but every complaint in here is valid. The office SUCKS. They are rude (except for Josef) and dismissive. It’s like they are doing us a favor. Maintenance is overwhelmed. They do no upkeep of the property. Buildings are in disrepair. Forget about having snow — you will be trapped. People seem to move in and out quickly. We are leaving for a townhouse and I’m thrilled to leave this place.

They have really pulled it together service wise.

A friend of mine rented an apartment here for three years. The complex looks like a resort. However, don’t let that fool you. The photos of the dumpsters filled with trash and furniture is a common fixture here. During the warmer months you always get your annual resident visitors. The complimentary ants. Yep, the ants.
My friend ended his lease and was sad to go. Minus the noise, dumpsters, ants, etc. The place is located on a quiet piece of property. My friend ended up moving back to Fairfax and got a nice two bedroom apartment for less than the one bedroom he rented here.

We have been at stone ridge for almost a year now. We were a little hesitant before renting because of the many negative reviews. But the treatment the staff gave us when we were looking was by far the best we had. Not to mention we got the best deal here than any other apartment complexes. These were the nicest and safest feeling apartment complexes we had seen and I still stand by that.
We have not had any major noise issues. But we also chose the 3^rd floor to prevent this (common sense). It is relatively quiet at night (we face the road) except for a few incidents with a neighbor across from us. I think that’s to be expected when you have so many people around you. I have noticed and couple «party» apartment around us but luckily that isn’t ours!
As for the staff. We have had no issues calling and getting a response. Maintenance has been quick and friendly. They even rescued me within 5 minutes after I locked myself on the porch (lol).
A few complaints we have is first how they handled their trash service when they switched management. We got fined $ 50 for leaving a bag of dog waste by our trash can for 1 day. We has to do this because we couldn’t walk to the trash can without slipping on the poorly plowed sidewalk and street. They didn’t care whatsoever and even kept changing their reasons for fining us when my husband read their trash agreement calling them out on a bad decision to fine. Yes they arent the best plowers or sidewalk scrapers. Hopefully they change this in the future.
The second is their pool staff. While friendly, they lack absolutely all the skills needed to be a lifeguard. They only blow their whistles for break time (which is for kids AND adults btw), and do not enforce safety. But, it’s better than having no one.
The trash cans (which we face) do get way too full at times. The residents drop of furniture (even though theres bulk trash around the corner) which sits for days. At times it does smell if it rains with the overflow of trash. I wish trash would have been put further away. But, most of the time this hasn’t been a big issue.
The reason I gave them 4 stars, is that when it comes down to it, we still wouldn’t choose to live at another apartment complex.
There is a wide variety of people and families living here which makes it feel more homey. The apartment layouts are by far the best we’ve seen. The deposits and fees were the lowest at the time we rented thanks to some awesome promotions (over $ 1500 in savings). We are close to the growing One Loudoun which is super convenient. And the place just feels nice. Everyday we come home we are greeted by beautiful views of the Maryland mountains and lots of people out walking their dogs. We wanted a place that felt «nice» and a apartment that felt like a home and not an apartment box. Even with a few setbacks (which are to be expected when renting an apartment) we are very content with where we live.

had two maintenance issues a leaking toilet and a froze up air conditioner both were fixed with in hours of my online requests great job guys keep it up

The maintenance is extremely poor here.
Responses are erratic, and sometimes your tickets will simply vanish into the ether. It usually takes about a week to respond.
I had two issues which were only fixed after much nagging on my part. The toilet leaked water from the tank into the bowl, and they refused to replace it for weeks. I had to put in 3 separate tickets because the guy would come out when I was at work, look at it, flush it, then leave because it seemed to work.
I had a similar experience with the dryer, it made this awful screeching sound, and they simply refused to fix it, because «it worked.»
I KNOW IT «WORKS» The problem is the screeching noise and leaking water holy hell please read the actual tickets I put in, if they actually include any description at all when the office people transcribe them.

No. Just, no. I’m waiting for my lease to complete. I would advise not to make the mistake of moving in due to the ‘cheap and enticing rates’. Both my roommate and I are extremely unhappy. These people are rude, unprofessional, and clearly do not love their jobs, true. But if it is your job, you should at least have some respect for that. Apart from all other complaints below (or should I say in addition to) — there have been personal decisions on the staff’s part that I found to be very disturbing. This includes improper and rude behavior at the front desk (unless you are a potential future tenant), unreturned calls (sometimes no one picks up the phone at all), custodians entering your home without your permission and leaving NO notice they have been there AND changing the environment in your home.
This is especially wrong if you have children or pets i.e. — you should not have to come home to find all your lights turned off, slide door closed. * I had cleaned the home and left my lights on for my pet, and left the windows and slide door open with the screen closed for fresh air since I had to be at work. I return hours later to find my home in complete darkness with all windows and slides shut, the inside full of fumes and over 75 degrees. Clearly someone had been inside, without my permission and left no notice why they had just walked in and done this. EXTREMELY disturbing if you enjoy your privacy or care for a pet. This is the kind of thing we will not even take to the office but will contact the corporate office and our lawyer about.
Went to the office one day (which I hate doing). We never call or speak to these people unless it is absolutely necessary. The office had no clear record of our data. One of them asked me ‘oh, you have pets’? When this was a clear instruction due to special needs for that pet to ensure they are not disturbed, stressed, or accidentally let out.
We found our lock on the front door had become ‘loose’ after 3 months of living here. Not even sure how that happened to a perfectly good lock. I can only speculate after seeing the police hanging around every other day. As to the crookedness, we will surly find out when trying to leave. And we will leave. I’m almost ready to break my lease and pay the fees (that is how uncomfortable we are here everyday).

Ok, we have lived here for several years, and I can attest to the accuracy of the other reviews. But I would like to add a few comments. People need to first of all realize that the staff here are only small potatoes employees of a huge mega-​corporation. They have no influence over policy or even autonomy to make decisions. It is just another customer service job, and if you’ve ever been unfortunate enough to have one you realize it is not easy, nor does it pay well. Let’s not take it out on them. Secondly, this is the ghetto, realize that. Yes, there are dudes smoking weed in the parking lot, folks have way too many undisciplined children, they are irresponsible pet owners (don’t clean up after their dogs, let them off leash), the cops are here all the time, and your upstairs neighbors will be unbelievably loud at inappropriate hours… because it’s the ghetto, and they will rent to anyone. Given that, there is a great deal of personal responsibility one can take. Fix your own stuff if it breaks, it’s much less hassle to go to Home Depot and buy a new showerhead than wait a month. your hot water heater is located on your patio, open the door and turn up the temperature if it’s not high enough. You are responsible for your own water bill, and are legally allowed access to the heater. It’s true that the fire alarms go off constantly at all hours, place electrical tape over the wall units and the sound is significantly reduced. Basically, you need to accept responsibility for your own life. The only reason we live in Ashburn is because my husband has a great job here, but it makes no sense otherwise to pay $ 2000.00 month for rent when that is a home mortgage in most of America. Ask yourself why you wish to live here at all? This is a highway offramp, not a «community» .but people need to realize that the employees here are not the corporate executives who make policy, and have a bit of compassion. It’s true they have high turnover, and it’s probably because it’s a real miserable job to have. But if you signed the lease and you’re stuck, accept that you live in the ghetto and take some personal responsibility for your life. Talk to your neighbors, many of them are nice and just trying to make it work like everyone else in the 21^st century. If we work together maybe we can make it slightly less terrible. Peace.

If you are planing on moving in this place, then DON’t!!! It would be the biggest mistake of your life. Customer Service sucks, it is unbelievably poor for a «Luxury Apartment Complex» as they advertise.
Awful experience! I would never ever recommend to anyone, not even to my worst enemies!!!
I’ve been trying to reach to them concerning a consistent neighbor issue, but all I got was «Well, it’s a apartment complex! It is all right to have people making notices above you»
The problem was that those people are not making just noticed! They’re playing basketball and football up there, they are jumping and banging like animals, moving furniture… anyway the management never did anything about it after submitting a complaint on the on-​line portal, a official letter signed by me and my wife and after reaching to them couple times in person. They didn’t even have the decency of calling us or let us know they got the letter, or they are aware of the issues we’ve got and they will try fixing something. NOTHING!!! ZERO!!!
We tried to talk to them and make them understand we have 2 little ones and we can not live like this. Our little boy is autistic… awful, awful, awful! We tried to move out but, of course they «would not break a lease JUST FOR HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE NEIGHBORS!!» The termination fees are ridiculous!!! Make sure you completely understand what you sign because it will be impossible to break!
So, we have to live another 3 months with those animals above us, because in order to leave right now we would have to pay about 5k… oh and I almost forgot. Every single night there is some sort of gangsters with cool cars meeting next to our apartment, in front of someone’s garage were they do barbecue with loud music, weed and stuff… cops are passing by constantly because of them… and my kids are seeing that constantly… not good!!! Especially if you have kids, this would not be the right place for you! Try to avoid it! Also, every time you renew the lease they would add to the base rent $ 50 or more…$ 50-​$ 150…even just $ 50, that’s $ 600 more a year! Be wise… look somewhere else. If I could have posted a review with no stars I would have done it!

I did contact management and they told me «clearly your not understanding me» among other rude remarks. After countless calls/​emails asking for an explanation as to why my bill was suddenly raised I asked for a manager and was told there was no one else
To talk to. So, I went online and found someone higher. Turns out not only was the rude woman telling me I owe more wrong, so were the people at the initial checkout. They ended up owing me money. So I’ll keep my review and feedback saying they are crooks and beyond that rude and unprofessional.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to my dog. Management is horrible and maintenance follows right behind them. Don’t trust them ever!!! They come into your apartment with out notice or letting you know they were in there. Would you feel safe?

We moved into this complex a few months ago and while we love our apartment, my complaint is about the maintenance system. The maintenance men themselves are wonderful and very sweet… when they finally show up. I don’t know whose fault it is, but I’ve had to call for a few maintenance issues (broken oven, broken dishwasher, etc) and it’s taken many days, sometimes WEEKS for them to get back to me. I was told when I signed my lease that maintenance issues were usually resolved same day and if not, then they would definitely be taken care of within the next 24 hours. That is most certainly not the case. And when you call the maintenance number, it’s some kind of answering service so you can’t actually get in touch with the maintenance people. When it had been over a week for my first maintenance request, I called the number back and tried to find out what was going on (if they had maybe showed up when I wasn’t home or something) and the girl who answered the phone said she had no way of knowing that but she would «Leave a message for the maintenance guys» I was confused because I thought this WAS the maintenance guys that I was calling. When I asked if there was another number to actually reach them at, she said no. So basically, there is no way for me to get in touch with them directly. It’s frustrating.
Right now I have a dishwasher that isn’t working properly and I put a call in about it approximately a week and a half ago and I’ve still heard nothing…
frankly, I think I’d be embarrassed if I were them. The LEAST they can do if they’re slammed with maintenance requests is give you a call and say «hey, we got your request, we know you’re waiting on us, it’s going to be a few days because we’re really slammed right now.» at least then I wouldn’t wonder if they even ever got the message.
Before the maintenance issues I would have recommended this apartment complex to anyone and everyone… now, I’m not sure I’d recommend it at all…

Disgusting complex! Run away and look elsewhere. Big mistake finalizing a lease with them, don’t make my mistake. You will be disappointed, I assure you.

STAY AWAY… The pictures are nice but this place is guaranteed to be a headache and will rob you blind. A lot of people just assume that cause the number is on the paper they have to pay it, BS. if you ask questions it seems like someone here is doctoring the paper work. So here goes.
I moved into StoneRidge in October of last year and signed a 13 month lease. I moved into what appeared to be a nice gated community out of the way of the busyness of NoVA. With in a few months we ended up, no gate, frequent visits from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, people (non-​residents, DC Tags) drinking and smoking in the parking lots, garbage stacked over the dumpsters, a less than attentive front office, and a long list of other issues. The people at the front office will tell you a lot of wonderful things about the place and will even convince you that they live on the property. It’s a load of crap! There is new people working in the office every few months and non of them have the wonderful StoneRidge parking decals in their car.
Let’s start with the gate. The gate was taken down with out any consultation with the community residents cause it kept breaking every few months. It was costing them too much money they said. SOO my question was… now that it isn’t costing you anything, who is going to cover the cost of my renter’s insurance increasing cause I no longer live in a gated community. I assume that my rent should decrease right, NOPE. Actually it increased. In the place of the gate they decided to crack down on parking so once again without asking the people who are paying the bills they decided to implement this parking program and give out these little decals. The rules were simple. Have a decal on your car and it wont be towed. HOWEVER! if you have a guest you need to go to the office and get a guest pass because if your guest stays at your house after NINE, yes 9 PM and they do not have a pass their car will be towed. My argument was 9 PM is a little early no? I was told that you should know if you are going to have a guest and do it in advance. Ohh ok so what if I just want to have a friend over at the last minute or just want to watch a ball game or something with a buddy. I was then told, «I don’t know what to tell you.» hmmm. Soo I guess I asked one too many questions cause the manager walked by and quickly closed the door because they had people sitting in the office that they were trying to brainwash and I wasn’t shedding good light on the place. The one time I did have that surprise guest. I called up the office and spoke to someone who told me that they will leave a decal for me in an envelope at my door… NEVER HAPPEN. All in all only 2 of my friends cars got towed till they decided that the idea the property manager farted out wasn’t great and decided to put a 24 hour thing in place.
Next. The service seems nice until you become a resident and they lock you into a contract. Oh and God forbid you tell them you are leaving or intend on moving out. Then they ignore you. took me 2 weeks to get a working light in my kitchen and 3 weeks to get my AC fixed and in both instances I don’t know how long it would have been if I didn’t snatch a maintenance man out of the hallway that was walking by.
So the trash thing that I see someone left a very accurate picture on here referencing is utterly disgusting. And you have to drive by it every day. Animals, bugs all included. Actually the trash issues germinated another dumb idea from management. They have this Valet trash collection service now which they charge you out the a$$ for where rather than bring your trash to the dumpster. they pick it up at your door. When you see how much they want to charge you monthly for the service which you have no choice in the matter of accepting. You’ll quickly realize you would rather just take your trash out. Oh an the letter that came with the trash said that if you accidentally set your trash out on the wrong day or do not bring your can in timely enough for them they will… CHARGE YOU!!! of course its what they do best there at StoneRidge.
I’m gonna fast forward all the way to my move out cause if you are not convince to keep moving by now. good luck. My wife had already made the decision to move after dealing with the poor management and incompetent staff. If anything set us completely in our plans to get out it was the ridiculous increase in rent ohh and the new charges for the Valet Trash services… (I am paying $ 40 more for monthly for my mortgage than my one bedroom, without utilities was going to cost me) and now I am finding out they they have manufactured charges to take away a portion of my Sec. Dep. I have no problem answering any questions so you don’t make the same mistake I did. Happy Apt hunting, but please keep lookin… I wish there was an option for NO STARS.
