Heard great things about this place. Came here with a group of 7 on a Saturday night. Drink orders took a while to come out. Our server said she was making them herself one at a time to explain the delay. We all ordered a hibachi meal. Our soups and salads came out in decent time but we waited well over an hour and a half for our entrees to come out. Out server continued to tell us «a few more minutes» every time we asked where our food was. The restaurant was full but not Busy enough to explain the delay. A free small app was given to the table for the delay in our meals. No other compensation was given to us for the delay. Once the food arrived it was good, but the lack of service was unacceptable. Not sure if we will return.

This place was better than I expected for a sushi restaurant in Asheville, NC. It did the job and their prices are reasonable too.(Although I guess everything seems cheap to me coming from LA.) There’s no way the sushi here could live up to the sushi in LA, but I would come here again if I was in this area and needed a sushi fix. Our waitress was super friendly. The people here are definitely nice!

I’ve been ping ponging around all of the various sushi spots in Asheville for years, and while Hana may not be the very BEST spot for Sushi, it is tremendously reliable and puts out great food. Hana has become my go-to to-go sushi destination. Their spicy tuna rolls fill a void in my soul that is created after a long week of work that nothing else seems to fill… They’ve got the perfect amount of spicy chili sesame oil worked into the fish for me to make audible oooh and ahhh yeah noises while I eat them. Hana isn’t cheap. It’s a downtown restaurant and you’re paying a premium for quality fish here in the mountains. I’m okay with it. Do I wish it was cheaper? Of course! I wish everything were cheaper. But the fact is with nicer sushi spots like this you’re getting what you pay for. I can’t comment on any of the warm dishes. I come here specifically for to go sushi. Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever actually eaten in the dining room. It’s modern, and large, there’s even a section in the back that doesn’t get illuminated unless the restaurant is slamming. I need to figure out how to have more work lunches here.

Sushi was not memorable. Supermarket quality at best. Service was HORRENDOUS. You get your tab faster than you get you’re food. I would give them 1 ½ stars. You should probably go to one of the places nearby it.

Yum! Can’t yum enough about this place. As good as any sushi restaurant in LA, San Francisco, or New York. A must try when in Asheville!

My mom and I were starving when we walked in. The waiter was very accommodating and the food came out very quickly. The ginger salad dressing was home made and super tasty.

I loved to go to this restaurant a few years back. The name was different too. So we decided to go back in July 2015. Menu was nice, however the service was very slow and we had to wait very long time despite the fact that there were only 3 tables occupied. When food was on the table we was waiting for pretty longtime to get some more beer and wine… Sushi were good. They made special rolls for us with cooked fish. Crab salad became more starchy now though… Otherwise it is still one of the good place for sushi and Japanese food…

I have a weakness for Uni. If it’s in stock, and it’s fresh, it’ll end up on my bill. Here — they added a twist. In addition to fresh Uni Sushi, I could order Uni Tempura. At first, I resisted — but then I succumbed. I had to find out if it was worth it. It’s fine and all. the flavors are pleasant enough. But, here’s the deal. If you’re a fan of Uni — then you’re a fan of the flavor explosion that Uni delivers. The tempura option here virtually masks that explosion. In fact, I couldn’t identify uni at all. So… — I tried it — but I should have stayed tuned to my instincts. We started off with the Yellowtail Jalapeño appetizer. it was very nice. Daughter had the Madonna Roll which she loved. Son, not the big fan of sushi/sashimi, had the shrimp hibachi. I went with the Sea Clam, Octopus, Toro, Maguro, and Uni. All very good.(Oh, Uni, with quail egg(naturally)). :)

Service was so poor I can’t give it more than one star. Wrong orders, forgotten orders, charged for food I didn’t order. No comps. Sat in back even on an empty night. Won’t make it in a town with so many better options. Just skip it.

Beautifully prepared scallop and chicken hibachi. Sauces were flavorful but not overpowering. Spicy rice, noodles accompanied. Service was efficient. Served with a fresh green salad ginger dressing and delicious miso soup. Definitely recommend.

We are visiting from Florida and most restaurants have been closed due to the weather. Luckily this one was open. The interior is very nice, relaxed and quiet. It took a bit for the waitress to come get our drink orders, even though there were only about six people in the entire place. Me and my friend both ordered the steak and lobster hibachi. The soup was divine. Warm and delicious, perfect for this cold night. The salad wasn’t my cup of tea. The dressing wasn’t to my liking, but it wasn’t terrible. The plate of food I received was huge. Lobster, steak, veggies, rice, lo mein and sauce. The veggies and the noodles were very salty but edible. Maybe a little too heavy on the soy sauce. The steak, lobster and rice were perfect. The white sauce had a bit of a kick to it and added a nice flavoring to everything. We ended our meal with the tempora cheesecake which was pleasantly delicious. A touch of powdered sugar would’ve just made it glorious. All in all I was happy with this place.

I hate to give a restaurant one star but based on service alone we couldn’t give it anything else. Ended up leaving about 45 mins after we arrived, still staring at our menus. Our waitress did take our drink order after maybe 20mins. She looked to be heading our way as we left. They had plenty of staff and there is no excuse for this.

Great sushi with probably some of the worst service I’ve ever had. We were seated immediately and drink orders were taken. Drinks and food came quickly and were great. As soon as we finished eating, that’s when the trouble started. We waited 20 minutes and the plates were cleared at which point we asked for checks. 20 minutes later still nothing so we asked another waitress to have ours come by with checks. She said she would grab our waitress for us. We waited another 15 minutes with nothing. I then got up and walked over to our waitress and asked her personally for the checks, at which she waved her hand in front of me shooing me back to my table saying she would be over with checks soon. Another 15 minutes passes and she walks over with checks. Wrong items, items missing, and incorrect totals caused us to have to send them back. It then took her 15 more minutes to fix them. We finally got the checks and left after turning our quick dinner into two and a half hours.

I normally shy away from anything under a Unilocal 4 but my wife remembered going here a few years back and wanted to go again. She got the Filet Hibachi and enjoyed it. I got the Sashimi Deluxe and was less enthusiastic. They were good but some of the smallest pieces of sushi I’ve ever seen. If not for her filling up fast, I would have left hungry. The service was great to start but as they got busier, we had a hard time getting our check and leaving. I doubt I’ll go back.

The service was great, the food was really good and the prices are reasonable. My husband and I had the Hibachi Shrimp. The onion soup was really flavorful. The portions on the entrée were large and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The veggies and noodle were awesome and the rice was pretty good but maybe a touch bland. The rest of our family is vegetation and they were really happy with their food as well. The miso soup is vegetarian and was really tasty. The Udon noodles were very good and the cucumber sushi rolls were a big hit with our granddaughter. Thus place is worth a visit!

Hana is a large space. They seem to be kid friendly as there were a number of lively little folks there. We didn’t do any sushi or sashimi but did have some rolls and steamed gyoza. The gyoza were a bit disappointing as they seemed overcooked and basically broke apart at the slightest touch. There was a «I Love Eel» roll that was fine, but the eel was a dry. We had a «Hana» roll that was fine — nothing super special. Our waitress was very nice and prompt and friendly and all that. All of that said, this came across as yet another lackluster sushi place in this state.
