If you like curry and fresh local veggies then you should give Anya’s a go. With several different curries to choose from, once you have a taste, you will want to try them all. This is a simple environment with fair pricing. Enjoy!

If you’re looking for Thai with authentic flavor this is the only place to visit in Ashland. The location can be a tad difficult to find as its below the Main street, however if you’re diligent you will be rewarded. The join is a little bare bones, but the food and service are both top notch! We eat here on every visit south.

Best Thai in town hands down. Stopped in for an early dinner with kids today and enjoyed sharing satay chicken, crispy spring rolls, and pot stickers to start. The chicken skewers with peanut sauce were our favorite, but all were good. To make sure we were really full the grown ups enjoyed chicken green curry and garlic shrimp stir fry… Delicious both. Kids enjoyed Pad Thai, made without eggs for our fussy eater… Extensive hot tea menu was offline today so was forced to drink ice cold Thai beer instead, oh the sacrifices we make! On a hot day like today(high nineties) being down in an air conditioned cellar like basement was a joy. The authentically Thai food and unpretentious service make this an easy place to enjoy, and given the unofficial«we’ll give you the money to take a bus to Medford if you don’t like it» policy, what’s not to like?! Will be back.

This place is extremely weird. As soon as we walked in, I got a strange vibe. The guy was awkward with greeting us and acted like we were breaking some kind of rule by coming up to the counter and grabbing menus. He told us to seat ourselves, so we did, granted uncomfortably. We did not feel welcome. While we sat there, we looked around and noticed all kinds of unorthodox things. For one thing, dusty ass jugs of waters were sitting around the entire place. It reminded me of that M. Night movie with the aliens and Mel Gibson’s daughter who leaves her cups of water all over the house. You know, the random quirk that happened to save the day at the end of the movie when they discovered the aliens were apparently allergic to water. The jugs themselves looked like they had been sitting there all day. NO one else was in this place, and it was dinner time. Also sitting around were plates, cups, napkins, hand sanitizer bottles(??), sauces, basically anything a person would need to serve themselves. And let me emphasize — there was TONS of this stuff. STACKS of plates, cups, and OPEN, room temp water jugs just lining the entire front counter. It bothered me because anyone could walk in touch these serving items with their grubby hands. This doesn’t seem like a very sanitary practice. That stuff should be kept in the back and brought out for each customer. Anyway, we sat there for probably 10 – 15 minutes and listened to the guy take a bunch of phone orders and shuffle around in the back before we got too hungry and went down the street to RedZone, where we got fast and friendly service. We both got the feeling that we were forced to wait extra long because we broke some unspoken rule by going up to the counter instead of seating ourselves. There was/is no good explanation as to why we wouldn’t have at least been offered drinks — other than what has been revealed in numerous Unilocal reviews — these owners are passive aggressive and at times, straight up aggressive(particularly with their responses to customers). Edit: Originally, they had a really long, rude post in response to my review, but they have erased it. Honestly, we were a little bummed because the other two Thai restaurants in Ashland are not good. 0 for 3, I guess.

We arrived well past the lunch rush which meant that the special was sold out. Chicken satay, my kiddos fave, was the very popular special. Expressing our disappointment and looking for a plan b item, Anya suddenly said she had one order left. Woo hoo! We scooped that up as well as an order of pad Thai and some delicious ice tea. When our food was brought to us we discovered that Anya had thrown in an extra skewer of chicken. But that’s not what won us over. The flavors blended perfectly to create a magical feast in our mouths. All in all, great customer service paired with great food and great prices… I think I’ve found my new fave Thai spot. Thanks!

Hands-down the best Thai food in Ashland! It’s as authentic as our food experience in Thailand. If you are in a hurry, it could be frustrating as there is only one waiter. It was fast enough for us and the food is worth the wait. The tom kah gai soup is a must-have. Enjoy!

I think the food is very good, I really do. But I experienced a strange customer service issue the other day which will result in me probably never returning in person. I felt like I was being talked down to and generally written off– until the bill came of course. I asked a simple question and got no response that I could see so I asked again and he snapped at me that he «thought he already answered me» SORRY. I was also asked what I wanted before I even saw a menu and then huffed at for asking for water. Apparently you need to walk up, seat yourself, find a menu/silverware/water/cup on your own. I wasn’t aware, sorry, not every local is actually a «regular» but I think being friendly is the only way to actually gain regulars. I work downtown and often hit up restaurants with friends or co-workers and now I will cross Anya’s off my list. I was the only person there for lunch– you should have been nicer.

When you’re hankering for a ‘diamond in the ruff’, I’d suggest coming here for a laid-back lunch & casual conversation. It might seem a little difficult to find, & parking sure isn’t easy, but the ambience & friendly staff are still a strong presence. I also appreciate the carafes of water sitting out already, & how quickly food comes out after you order! This time, I got the chicken with basil plate– nestled next to a well-portioned heap of rice. The veggies(bell peppers, carrots, onions, green beans & cabbage) balanced well with the plentiful amount of chicken, & though the amount of basil used seemed small, contrarily it was just enough to lace the dish with. And everything was dressed with a wonderfully sweet & slowly spicy sauce that permeates the meat & rice so well. Overall, not bad for a little over $ 10!

Poor customer service. Family and I won’t return. To top it off there is a $ 1 fee to use a card! Not recommend.

Food was good but service sucked! I came in with my family and the man working the register and taking orders did not make us feel welcome. He was rude and really couldn’t care less we were there. He took our order, then never once asked how our meals were or if there was anything else he could get us. To top it off there was a $ 1 fee to use a debit card! I would understand if the bill was less than $ 5, but our total was $ 56. Will not return.

I’ve been a regular at Anya’s for a couple years now. My boyfriend and I come at least once every two weeks or so. Their cuisine is authentic, and extremely tasteful– the best in southern and central oregon no doubt. When our friends ask us there to eat, we send them to Anya’s. Their pineapple curry and pad thai is our favorite! We have tried almost all the Thai restaurants from Mt. Shasta to Newport to Portland, and nothing beats Anya’s. We’re lucky if we have any leftovers– the food is so delicious that we end up eating it all, and when we don’t, our housemates end up stealing whats left.

We’ve been enjoying Aunties cooking ever since moving back to the area. Hands down her version of mongolian beef and sweet and sour chicken are some of the best I’ve tasted. DOnt miss this Mt. Shasta gem

Got my favorite dish, drunken noodles. I usually order it at every Thai place I eat. It was delicious and the right amount of spice, but the chicken was pretty dry and chewy(although it still had a good flavor). I asked for it w/o bell peppers and it boasted broccoli, carrots and tomatoes so I figured that would be plenty of veggies. Unfortunately, there weren’t many and it was a whole lot of noodles and dry chicken. You’d think if one veggie is omitted they would give you a good amount of the other veggies… My partner ordered the classic Pad Thai and loved it, it had all the interesting flavors you hope to get and was very fresh. Very reasonable prices and fast service. Not much on ambience so we got our order to go.

This place is «ok»… just«ok». Lot’s of hype – but the last few times I’ve been, I haven’t been blown away. Here’s how it goes: Tom Kha soup=real tasty. Egg rolls=properly spiced and real tasty. Phad Thai=pretty good, but presentation just ok. While I like asian places that have some«funk»(simple décor, maybe not so shiny), for the price of this place, and considering it’s identity crisis as a «half food-truck, half restaurant», and not being quite either, it doesn’t quite deliver on all aspects of service. The dude running the front is super nice – don’t get me wrong. But the fact that I’m tipping you to get my own silverware, drink from a really dirty glass and eat on dirty dishes is inexcusable – I basically had to serve myself and my wife. I would rather have done a counter-service type experience here for a slightly lower price: that would have nailed it. Good thai, maybe the best in Ashland, but there is certainly better experiences in my book in the Valley… try Jacksonville. Or even Siam in Medford.

Having eaten a LOT of Thai food in my life, I can safely say that Anya’s is one of the best Thai places I’ve been to. I have to say that I love the entire package: the food, the servers, the décor. It just all comes together for me in a way that I really like. Excellent curries mix with flavorful noodles and rice dishes. I always make it a point to go to Anya’s when I’m in Ashland.

We were craving Thai after a matinée showing of «Much Ado About Nothing» and found this place on Unilocal. It’s a little difficult to find, as it in the basement of a building. We entered and sat awhile before we were greeted. Everyone around us looked like locals and not tourists, which is always a good sign. Once we were seen, our order was taken promptly. Our server(there was only one for the joint) was pleasant despite obviously being very busy. We ordered the chicken panang and yakisoba(okay, not Thai, but it sounded too good to pass up). Once the food was out, it was perfect. The panang was spicier than expected, a welcome surprise. The yakisoba was flavoral; it would have been the perfect 2a.m. drunk dish. The food was great and the service, though on the slow side, was good. We’re giving four stars because we would love to see them bring on a little more help.

Nice quaint restaurant in the basement of a building. Its a two person run place so there is some wait. We had pot stickers, tom kha gai soup, and pad thai. The pod stickers were just ok. The soup was way too rich(we have had much better). And the pad thai had an over fermented taste. So just an ok place. And with many other good places in Ashland we will not be back. Edit and comment to business note: Nice comment. Sounds like you are going for that SNL«Soup Nazi» approach to customers. Hope that works out for you.

Here’s what we ate: Potstickers(6 mini potstickers)= Crispy fried bits of goodness(mostly hollow inside), but tasty with the accompanied sauce, OR maybe it was the sauce that was tasty; these Fried bits(vegetarian? no meat/no color visible) dipped in the delicious sauce… $ 6.75OK, 1 time. Crispy spring rolls(3) = A WHOLELOTTA rice noodles(99%) + 1 sliver of orange carrot + 1 sliver of something that bleeds purple, cabbage? = NOTHINGSPRING or veggie about these fried rolls $ 6 *sadness* NEVERAGAIN. Green Curry(add chicken) comes with steam rice $ 12 = NOT how I remembered it from the last visit. It was tasty enough and had beautifully cut vegetables, but THISTIME it was quite watery; holding up my fork, it looks like a drippy water faucet *so sad* The watery consistency ruined the effort of the beautifully cut vegetables. The steamed rice is always fragrant and perfectly cooked. ***BONUS: I asked for«spicy» and they provided a tea pot of chili goodness to add to my liking *ok*. I of all people understand that one persons«spicy» would hurt, compared to another person’s version of «spicy»; *thumbs up* for being accommodating to the picky public. Local beer served in the can, but charged more than what the can costs at the local brewery and 2x’s what it costs at Shop N’ Kart. Probably not again, BUTPROPS for supporting/serving LOCAL beer! *PLUS1STAR* Possibly improvement: While I eat out seeking a meal prepared by a better«cook» than myself(or at least let me take a night off, I am willing to pay a premium)… perhaps you should move the MICROWAVEAWAY from the front counter and closer to the back left of the«kitchen»; the noticeable«DING» of the microwave 3’xs during our visit(we ordered 4 dishes) when there was just 1 other table(ALREADYSERVEDTHEIR meal) was off putting to say the least *that explains the super watery curry* I don’t mind paying a premium, but the end product needs to be better than I could do purchasing frozen and microwaving myself; for a fraction of the $ 50+ bill? Perhaps this small change that would make a difference in customer perspective, since your target market obviously isn’t the average«college student»(according to the menu pricing). I will NOT give up on this local gem. I may have caught them on an off day… or perhaps they are still recovering from their personal move *moving sucks* I’m going to wait it out another month or so… we’ll give them another try. I go there for the green curry In summary: A SOLID3 stars because the food is a-ok + they SUPPORT other LOCALBUSINESSES in the process *BIG smiles*

We dined here the other night, and one thing I can surely say. The couple that runs this place works their tails off in this hidden, cozy little place. Everything we ordered tasted great. We went with the massaman curry, the Tom Kha soup, and the drunken noodles. Although it took them some time to take our order and bring out the food, the quality was definitely there. There was a huge table(maybe 12 people) that I suspect was taking the lion’s share of attention. If you can be patient, and be ok with a lot of self-service(they provide with large bottles of water at the table, and available take-out containers), the food here is totally worth it. We haven’t found better Thai in Ashland. We noticed that a lot of people do take out here, and that might be smart. But, regardless, we’d give this a +1. Enjoy.
