Nice Service, great little taco joint– great food, very reasonable priced. Glad to have stopped in, pretty easy to get to from 95.

Stopped here on a trip south on I95. It’s less than 3 minutes off the highway, and has plenty of parking. They are closed on Tuesdays. The food is great, but make sure you check the specials board by the door. The service is GREAT. The food was good, but be aware that the carne asada can be fatty, if you’re not a fan of meat fat. My daughter had her heart set on cheese enchiladas, and even though they weren’t on the menu, these guys made an exception for her. The food is great, the service is fantastic, and it was inexpensive to boot. Can’t ask for more.

Simply amazing. We had lost hope on decent Mexican in the 804. Wasn’t a bad item to be had. Eat here, we’ll prolly see you!

We came in here accidentally on our way back home to New York. We needed oil change and we’re looking for lunch place. This was a nice surprise as this place is really authentic Mexican restaurant and not expensive at all. We ordered burritos and tortillas and we were very happy with our choice. Décor inside reminds me of restaurants in Mexico, very authentic! We were served by the owner and she was super friendly and accommodating. we definitely recommend this place for anyone who is looking for delicious and authentic Mexican food and not expensive!

My family and I came across this place en route to Florida. We had carne Asada and the special. Chile relleno. Both were seasoned just right and but the options could have been slightly larger for the price. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would recommend a stop through of in the area.

Love this restaurant!!! My favorite dishes are beef soup, pescado, papusas, and poc chuc. The owner, Jenny is the friendliest hostess, make us feel just like home.

The best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Fresh and delicious– homemade corn tortillas too! Real authentic. Really accommodating, will make things off the menu or let you mix things up(like trying a mix of desserts!). Makes great smoothies too!

Fresh and authentic menu with lots of Vegan options. More of a diner style located in the Food Lion shopping center.

Not sure what we missed, but we did not have the great experience like the rest of the reviewers. Server was new and had lots of learning to do, but it goes well beyond that. Drinks were single cans, queso was so thick that the spoon lifted the whole bowl, the salad was way more than«interesting,» and the beef quesadilla was comprised of a Philly steak mix and little cheese. My friend said her tacos were good, though. For me, there are better options in town.

My husband and I stopped here on a whim one evening while driving past. I LOVE latin food, and this place was a dream. It’s a hidden gem in Ashland. We both got the tacos on the homemade tortillas, and they were perfect. The salsa’s were all delicious and homemade. The restaurant is small and welcoming and the service was great. We both cannot wait to go back, and cannot get over how great the food was.

On route from Raleigh to Annapolis on I95, we stopped at a top notch Mexican restaurant for lunch. The food was fresh and delicious. The al pastor tacos were amazing! They were by far, the best I have ever had. The chicken tostadas were a delightful choice as well. The restaurant offers daily specials and one particular treat caught my eye, smoothies for $ 2.99! The waitress listed off five fruits or carrot(no other veggies though) and said I could pick two and confirmed it was made fresh. I chose mango carrot and it was perfect; not too sweet, contained subtle shavings of blended carrot and was a pleasantly large serving. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was colorful and festive. The restaurant looked new and was very clean.

Best dang beans on the planet. Get there early for the freshest charcoal chicken. Although, even the last ¾ chick of the day can be turned into a masterpiece when one upgrades with added tortillas. Squeezed lime, grilled onions and hot salsa make this combination muy fantastico! Chicken quesadilla looked good as well but my hubby never offered me any(even though I gave him some of mine to try), unfortunately can’t comment on taste or authenticity of that. I like Tecate and will try to drink it more often, hopefully Kroger will bring it back into their rotation. Ok, back to work.

In the sea of chain food along I95, Maya Grill had great, authentic Mexican. I had(lengua) Tongue Tacos, a tamarind Jarrito, and batted cleanup on my son’s enchiladas. Look — if lengua is permanently one of the three types of tacos you can get, you know it is authentic. Understandably a bit slow because it was a mom-and-pop joint and not exceptionally fancy décor. But I was there to eat, not go on a date. And I went away full, happy, and not that much poorer.

This is a great Mexican restaurant. Not fancy at all, but 100% authentic. Food was good and fresh. If I stopped looking outside I felt like this could be in Mexico. I was just telling my wife that I was disappointed with a lot of the Mexican options in the area, but happy to have found this place to get away from the status quo Mexican chains!

Fried plantains, authentic street tacos, tortas, and horchata… this place is a hole in the wall and it is the shit. Don’t eat in Richmond. Eat here.

Sopes with handmade tortillas :) al pastor(pork) was a little tough but well-seasoned, chicken was good. The vegetarian option was not that interesting :( Short menu but the other diners seemed very happy. Great alternative, you don’t have to eat fast food!

Spot on — great friendly and personal service and even better food. So relieved Ashland finally has a restaurant that serves a FRESH meal, truly authentic Mexican food! They also sell real tortillas and other ingredients that are hard to find in the area.

There’s a secret in Ashland! Nestled in a struggling«B» list shopping center, in a space which has hosted previous failed restaurants, is a little gem that only needs a little more polishing! The décor is sparse and far from relevant, you don’t come here for the ambiance. Much better if they had booths in addition to the hodgepodge of recycled 4 tops and a variety of chair styles. You come to Maya Grill for good, fresh and authentic home style Mexican dishes. Here you will find dishes not available in the omnipresent, carbon copy, every other block«Mexican» joint. Chips & Salsas made on premises. Many dishes you won’t find in other places claiming to be authentic; Pozole, pupusas, fried Yuca, Corn Tamales and even Menudo. Today’s visit I tried the Chicken Sopas, wonderfully prepared topped with a generous wedge of avocado. The portion of(3) was perfect for lunch. They have the food, now they need the following. I can truly say that once it give it a chance, you will be back
