Mix is one of the best coffeeshops in Ashland with stumptown coffee, and also has really good pastry(although quite expensive…) You get a choice of sitting upstairs on the main floor with a view of the plaza, or to go downstairs which is cozy with a fire and wifi. Really nice place.

Very Portlandian! Great fresh treats, hot Stumptown coffee, and a very trendy and hipster environment. Nice area to sit out out front in the sunshine for people watching. Newly added basement space for more seating area. A little spendy for portions. Rs

This little coffee shop really topped off an amazing day in Ashland– after a walk through the park in the rain the warm and cozy atmosphere and the friendly and helpful service was perfect– we took a seat at the window to watch the downtown activities while we enjoyed beautifully crafted caramel lattes– with a truffle and macaroon of course– it was all rich and decadent– I enjoyed the entire experience

I was interested in trying this place due to its huge following and rave reviews. I walked away a little disappointed on three occasions and I don’t think I’ll be back. My husband and I ordered their salted caramel tart and coconut tart, both of which were mediocre and without dimension. We also ordered lattes, and they were somewhat bitter and flat. Wanting to give this place more of a chance, we came back two more times. Again, a little bit of a let-down as the coffee itself was bitter and burnt tasting. Might just be because I’m not a huge fan of Stumptown coffee(gasp, I know) as there are better kinds out there. The service is just ok. There wasn’t any luck finding free tables or seating since many people were camped out with their laptops. I think I’ll pass on this next time.

Spot on coffee, and even nicer pastries. Good for people watching. Limited seating and it can get crowded. Nice baguette sandwiches. Enjoy the excellent people watching and prime Ashland location. Sweet dreams.

The quality of the food and beverages at Mix is always spot on and the customer service is amazing! So far I haven’t been disappointed in any of the food/beverage options – it would be great to see some vegan options(I have friends who would like to enjoy some of the snacks – esp ice cream!). Plus, for me its more of a treat yoself kind of deal. Recently I have tried their Hot Apple Cider and it is absolutely amazing – a wonderful beverage for the winter months. I have also tried the Hot Apple Cider with bourbon… yuuuuuummmmyyyy!!! Some treats I absolutely love is the peanut butter bar(has a layer of dark chocolate and a sprinkle of sea salt mmhmm), any of the lattes, italian sodas, and their ice cream.

Great atmosphere! The barista was friendly and upbeat. The drip coffee I had was very good and the latte my wife had was excellent. The pastries looked good and I heard positive feedback from some that ordered it(I just had coffee). Seating is limited(upstairs) and the bathroom is unisex. So apparently, there is more seating downstairs as well as a fireplace. Sounds nice but I didn’t go downstairs. Definitely recommend this place!

Best coffee shop in Ashland, all variables considered and averaged. They serve Stumptown coffee, which I would generally rate a solid 7.5÷10. But more importantly, you know what you are getting and the Stumptown product is CONSISTENT. One of the main problems I tend to have with fancy smaller roasters is the mildew taste/smell the beans(and as such the drinks) get due to the coffee bean transport process. Bigger companies do tend to deal with this problem better, simply because they have better equipment. I HATE that taste. I’ve never tasted it at Mix. The pastry selection is also definitely the best compared to other coffee shops in the area. If this is important to you, then Mix is your spot 100%. The ice cream is also the best in town. Zoe’s can’t even compare. Their ice cream is shipped in from somewhere else and always tastes like a freezer. Mix ice cream is made on site and absolute perfection.

No way. 4.5 stars!!! That is a joke. Seriously, this is a tourist spot with a good location. That’s it. I’ve actually returned more than 1 item here. I’ve talked with my friends and they didn’t like some of the«confections» either. Worst lemon bar I’ve ever had, literally. It was brownish in hue and not at all zesty. Yuck! I exchanged it for a different thing that was just equally as gross. It’s also very expensive for what you get. Downstairs I do like their fireplace. The coffee is fine. The location is good. The ice cream is good but expensive. But do not fool yourself into thinking this is a 4 star bakery, because it is not.

Stopped at this little shop to grab some coffee before wandering around Ashton. I ordered my usual decaf Americano, and my partner ordered a cold brew. My drink was average, I can’t say that I liked it better(or even as much as) Starbucks, but I had no issue with it and it was not expensive. I typically drink my coffee black, but there was a glass pitcher of cream that looked so appealing that I added about a ten second pour to my drink. I could taste the quality of the cream. Heck, next time I might just ask for a cup and drink the cream. We decided that we didn’t actually want to sit and drink our beverages, so I asked an employee if he could transfer it to a paper cup to go. He was able to pour it perfectly from a mug to a cup without spilling a single drop, and he was happy to do it. On the way out I noticed people ordering ice cream, which I hadn’t noticed on the menu. I wish I had ordered some, because it looked incredible. Next time I’m in town, I’ll definitely be trying some of their ice cream.

Every pastry I’ve tried over the last few years has been delicious — TOO good really. Great ham sandwich. Soup in winter. Coffee and coffee drinks are top notch. Plenty of seating for a busy place, very comfortable. It’s a hassle if you’re driving and really want coffee NOW because parking is always hard downtown. But if you’re enjoying a nice day downtown Ashland then you’ll want to include a stop at mix.

Learning and fun! An ollalie berry is 2:1 raspberry: blackberry, but a logan berry is 2:1 blackberry: raspberry. Why does this matter? Because get the logan berry ice cream in a waffle cone. It’s totally a misshapen slice of pie a la mode within itself. And that is magic. Other things that rock: — the almond milk lattes — savory egg tarts — outdoor seating — the bathroom and proximity to Lithia park — everyone who works here(for friendliness, courteousness, and for collectively possessing one cool pine tree tattoo, two eyebrows on fleek, and for singing The Smiths too loudly to be considered«to oneself.») Mix it up, sure, but don’t go anywhere else.

I came in here liking that it wasn’t a large chain but a local operating the spot. Nash helped me out tonight. He was quite the enthusiastic sort who patiently heard me out on what I wanted(I asked him like 10 questions!) and gave me his suggestions after I prodded him a little. I loved the decaf coffee(it was 9pm you know?!?) and the homemade peanut butter ice cream was tasty and not stomach upsetting(other places use poor ingredients like low grade milk). The homemade biscotti wasn’t great but above average. I want to try their bread next time as well as a pastry or two since they make most of their stuff in their store. Quite the place and like their longer hours :) Don’t go to subpar Starbucks, go here instead to receive better product and support local business owners! See you next time

Enjoyed some FABULOUS homemade ice cream, salted caramel flavor was second only to Salt and Straw.(It was very different than their version I must add, but incredible) Super friendly service to boot!

If you’re looking for great coffee and excellent pastries, Mix is your spot! Everything is baked fresh to perfection. There’s plenty of seating now that they expanded to downstairs, which is a great spot for work, studying, or some quiet time with a book. The sandwiches are delicious – ham and thyme butter, especially so. I’ve recently started buying Mix bread so I can have it at home too! Great crust, soft and wonderful inside. My very favorite Mix treat(that I indulge in a couple times per week too often) is their macarons. I could eat those every day!!! Definitely try the chocolate salted caramel macaron, if you have a chance. My only grievance is I wish there were more flavors! Overall, it’s a favorite spot in Ashland.

After ice skating down by Lithia Park, this warm and cozy coffee shop hit the spot. I like its proximity to the park as well. Place seems to always have traffic going in and out. I had a deliciously creamy and not overly sweet mocha. I hate nothing more than overly sugary drinks. Even their whipped cream wasn’t that sweet which was a pleasant shock. Options for milk include organic, soy, or almond. They also have homemade ice cream which is a nice change from your average coffee and pastry coffee shop.
