This casual coffee shop has really good food. We stumbled into this place after we gave up on having breakfast at Morning Glory and The Breadboard with an hour wait time. So glad we did. The frittata and quiche were simply delicious. The croissants tasted like they came from a Parisian patisserie.

Nothing but praise for Samara and the gang… GREAT food, and maybe more importantly, served by WONDERFUL people. I was passing through, needed some coffee and kindness, a bite to eat. Got all three and then some, that being, a deep desire to return…

Apparently this place is under new ownership however the quality of the food certainly has stayed high. They are working with a different local organic coffee roaster and from what I can tell it’s a very solid product. The staff is good and it’s a great convenient location in downtown Ashland.

Sweet lil relaxed place featuring housemade or locally made yumminess, including Griffin Creek Coffee Roasters. I know they recently had a change in ownership who have made a positive impact.

Very friendly staff but very overpriced. I get it that your rent is probably not cheap but $ 7.75 for a measly breakfast sandwich? One would expect an addition of some sort of vegetable(spinach) a sandwich dressing and some other creative addition for that price. A bit more egg to at least cover the bagel? Another 1⁄3 strip of bacon?

This place was great. And, then it sold and the ownership changed. First time I went in, they used milk in my breve(instead of Half and Half) and made my drink with full caffeine instead of decafe. Next time I went in it took over 20 minutes to get my order(my break is 10 minutes). The last time I went in, again they used milk and my decafe was actually full caffiene. I’m still buzzing, 6 hours later! Last chance, New Owner. Going back to Mix.

I wanted to update my review in light of the fact that Blue Bottle is no longer found here. All reviews older than a couple weeks pertaining to the coffee are therefore no longer relevant! Their website says they now serve«Griffin Creek.» This is very disappointing. No Blue Bottle and 8 dollar breakfast sandwiches = no reason to ever go back. According to their blog, Blue Bottle made the decision themselves to no longer sell their beans to shops that are not their own. They are worried about quality control and the way their product is represented. This is a little too bad considering Café 116 did a GREAT job preparing their beans, but I can understand.

They do NOT serve Blue Bottle coffee! Disappointing! We had a latte and an americano that tasted fruity but fine. We ordered the $ 8 breakfast sandwiches and it was bready and dry. Only everything bagels; Out of bottled waters. Other families left after looking at the bare pastry case(8:30 in the morning). Wishing we had gone somewhere else for our only breakfast in Ashland.

Awesome house coffee from Heart in Portland. They do small-batch French Press and the flavor comes through. Loved the bacon breakfast sandwich and bagel and lox.

Just got a chance to check this little place out on my dad-daughter date. I was not disappointed! Absolutely wonderful :) I wish the egg had been soft-boiled in the boiled egg breakfast, but really, everything was lovely! The hot chocolate– TODIEFOR. Perfect. A lot like RoCo’s with the shaved dark chocolate and the steamed milk! Not sweet, but that’s the way it should be! All about that chocolate! The almond-chai scone was awesome, too! A day old and reduced price. The barista was a sweetheart, too. We came right at closing, but she made us feel welcome regardless. Atmosphere is great. Very small and comfortable! Check it out :) — I came here again and everything was great– except there was a salad mix-up because the new employee wasn’t familiar with sizing. So it seemed we were way overcharged. What is amazing about this, though, is that all it took was a phone call explaining the situation to the sweet woman, and BAM– we got a new salad free of charge. It wasn’t just the free salad that made us happy, but the way in which she handled the situation– with impressive grace and understanding. This place is even better now in my eyes– they clearly hire truly great people! Thanks to Caitlin(sp?) for being awesome!

Have been coming here for years on vacation but this time(Aug., 2015) seem to have hit a bad patch. Been here 3 times and staff seems disorganized. Come in and two baristas engaged in what must be an important conversation continue while I wait at counter for 3 – 4 minutes for them to finish. Then they have no regular coffee, 9am, so I wait for them to be new pot. Drink that coffee and go for another and again they are out. Get a frittata heated with cold center. 7 people at tables so not overly busy. Will be trying Starbucks next time. I am slow learner.

Small space, very good food, and very nice folks behind the counter. It’s small, so if you’re there in the lunch rush, you might have a wait, but we liked that it was out of the general throngs of summer in Ashland.

The croissant breakfast sandwich was great. Lynne croissant Just the right bit of crunchy and buttery. The veggies were fresh. The price was just right. The lox bagel was good also. The salmon tasted fresh and just the right amount of capers and cream cheese.

Good food, great service! A small shop, but they have a large menu selection for both food and beverages. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Ashland.

Thought I would stop in here because I’ve heard so much about blue bottle. Waited 20 minutes for a plain cup of drip coffee. Ridiculous! Poorly run. And the coffee was ok but not nearly as good as Capricorn(San Francisco).

I am in town visiting my parents and I have absolutely fallen in love with this place. We have been going in almost every day to grab coffee and sometimes a bite to eat. The service is friendly and prompt, and their coffee and lattes are delicious. I love the simple, yet elegant, atmosphere. The real winner is their breakfast croissant. Oh. My. God. I haven’t had one this tasty since being at my favorite bakery in Australia(French Fantasies). The croissant melts in your mouth. And they bake their bacon! I have only found one other place that does this and it was in Sedona. I will definitely try to squeeze in a few more visits before I leave!

Typical morning strolling Ashland. Café looked warm and inviting and we were cold so it was a perfect match. It was too cold for the puppy to sit outside so the Spouse volunteered to run her back to the cottage. The daughter and I entered to the warmth of air fragrant with yeast and coffee. The coffee is blue bottle so they use mysterious methods to make it and you should expect a wait. They are NOT Starbucks. We ordered the Spouse a coffee and ourselves hot chocolate. The Spouse arrived back before the beverages were arrived. We stepped up and placed our breakfast orders. Counter service was cheerful and helpful. Things started coming out at that point. The cocoa was both hot and rich and pretty with the heart and flower swirled in the foam. And not too sweet which was a bonus. The bagel was fresh and stuffed to a plump fullness with luscious lox and tasty accompaniments. Bacon was crisp and flavorful in the BLT. The boiled breakfast both looked beautiful with the brown egg and the robust toast. Good solid fare. And at the end of the meal the strawberry almond cream cake was a rich sinful indulgence. Not for those in a rush but a pleasant place for a relaxing morning meal. Music was mellow contemporary rock. Nothing was too estrogenated. It’s all good at Café 116.

Café 116 is the successor to the Key of C. I guess the former business’ specialty bagel feature had limited appeal. Café 116 is another superior coffee alternative to the nearby Starbucks. I still like Noble better, notwithstanding the New Orleans Iced Coffee. However, it does have comfortable seating(albeit in a smallish space), Wi-Fi, and really tasty pastries from breakfast and sandwiches and such for lunch.
