I’m really shocked at the good reviews of this place. Especially around service. We walked in & sat down on the bar side table, watched the waitress’ walk by our table for 12 minutes & then lean against the wall chatting. The door host left his post, no manager in site. Can’t say what the food is like, never got the chance to eat. Screw this place!

I eat at a lot of Ruby Tuesdays for the assortment of «Fit & Trim» low-calorie items. I’ve had a lot of horrible experiences at Ruby Tuesdays all over the place, but this one in Ashland is by far my favorite. It has been the most consistent of any, with consistently good service, good food, and a clean restaurant. Bonus points for beets on the salad bar(harder and harder to find!). I know a bad experience is coming eventually(because it’s a Ruby Tuesday, after all) but so far so good! We are here several times a month and have been coming for about two years. A good choice for dinner while in Ashland.

Great service and great price for a nice sit down restaurant. You can tell this Ruby’s is run well by a person who cares about what they do.

I have to say that my fiancé and I are frequent restaurant eaters lol! The service here was excellent! My fiancé is a trucker and while fueling up we decided to stop and eat at ruby Tuesdays seeing as we had never been and saw great reviews. I had a streak and my fiancé had the crab cakes. They were so delicious!!! The tea was mouth watering good and our dessert was awesome! So much in fact we went there the second time and it was still on point!!! Amazing, amazing, amazing fresh salad bar. You have to try this place!!! We are now back in the same spot and we are heading over there right now! Happy eating!!!

We eat here often. I personally find their biscuits/bread better than Red Lobster. I ordered the New Orleans shrimp, and it’s delicious. The meal came with rice AND potatoes(waiter made mistake), and zukes. I actually preferred the potatoes(the mistake) to the rice, but both were good. I LOVED the zukes. On another occasion I got the beef with Asiago cheese sauce. I can’t tolerate fat, and this steak has NO fat at all. Again, delicious. My favorite side is the fresh tomatoes with balsamic, and can’t wait until fresh tomatoes are back on the menu.

If there was an option for 3.5 I would have chose that. We were staying overnight in Ashland, VA on a trip down to Charleston, SC. We got into town around 6PM after a 9 hour drive and wanted somewhere close by to eat. I’ve always liked Ruby Tuesday’s, so we decided to eat there. The décor is nothing special, typical Ruby’s décor. The restaurant was clean and we were seated immediately despite it being Valentine’s Day. The biggest asset to this restaurant is their staff. Our waitress was a young woman who was excellent. She was attentive and friendly, but not pushy and sought help when we had a question about local beers. Her co-worker was extremely knowledgeable and pointed us at a great local beer(Devil’s Backbone Vienna Lager, good stuff). As for the food, which is the reason to go to any restaurant, it was OK. Nothing spectacular, and the salad bar was probably not AS fresh as it should be. I ordered the Parmesan Chicken Pasta which is my go-to dish. It came out promptly, very hot and the pasta and cream sauce was delicious. The chicken was overcooked a bit, however, which made it a bit dry. Our dessert was awesome, though! Chocolate cake with a chocolate mousse filling and chocolate crust with a chocolate sauce. 5 stars for the chocolately gooeyness! I gave 4 stars because the beer was cold and tasty, the food was hot, the dessert was great and the staff we interacted with was friendly and helpful. If the staff wasn’t as great as they were, I probably would have given a 3-star review. P. S. We picked up a 6-pack of the Devil’s Backbone Vienna Lager at the gas station next store to take home with us!

I live just outside of Ashland. I’ve been to this location countless times before. Never again. The waiter we had was awful, I had to ask to have my drink refilled more than once. So did my husband. The food was god awful. And we splurged and got a dessert. The chocolate lava cake. It tasted old and was very dry. Around midnight that night I woke up vomiting bc I had food poisoning from this disgusting establishment. It tasted much worse coming back up. If that’s even possible. I will NEVER go back there again.

I recently had dinner here with my father and grandmother, who were in town, as we were looking for a place specifically with a salad bar this time around, and they were the closest option. The décor is pretty standard fair, and the service was super friendly this visit. We had a pair of wait staff serving us, our primary waiter who was also a bartender, as well as a bartender-in-training. My wife loves their Temporah Green Beans, so between that and their salad bar, we were quite pleased. All of the food came out quite fresh, and hot, and they were even able to work out making sure some of our special requests(the appetizer as an entrée, and some requests my grandmother had for her dinner, the Parmesan Chicken Pasta. My father got the Bourbon Glazed Pork Chop, and was quite pleased with it; it was a thick cut chop, about twice as thick as what I’d consider that you get normally, and was well seasoned. Their garden bar continues to impress, as everything there seems fresh, the selection is pretty expansive, and every time I went up, they had a staff member there tidying things up, freshening the bowls, and taking the temperature of some of the foods, so they obviously take both presentation and food safety seriously here. Ruby Tuesday also has several coupon mailings that you can sign up for, which make coming here even that much more valuable, as we had a pair of by one get one free entrée coupons that we used, to overall the bill was quite reasonable.

I ate here a week ago after visiting King’s Dominion with some friends. It was my first time eating at Ruby Tuesday, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. They had the mini cheddar biscuits which were good, although I personally prefer Red Lobster’s. The majority of the tables were empty when we arrived, but at some point, a party of 35 – 45 people came in all at once. Not sure if they had a reservation, but I would have expected more wait staff present if that were the case(I counted three servers and the manager). Luckily, our order was placed before they arrived, but we had to wait an exceptionally long time for two of our plates to come out after the rest of our party had already been served. Our server was too busy waiting the new tables(the large party was split up between several booths) to realize that they did not bring the rest of our plates out until we were able to flag her down and tell her. One of those plates was the chicken bella, which I ordered. It was rather dry, and there was very little of the parmesan sauce on it. I suspect that they popped the plate in the microwave after it was sitting out for a while, causing it to become a little overcooked and dry. After all, the plate was very hot when it finally arrived. I did enjoy the unlimited salad bar, which was one of the side options. The bar had a ton of items and toppings and was a great value. If I could go back in time, I would have just eaten from the unlimited salad bar rather than order an actual entrée. At the end of the meal, our server apologized again about our two dishes not being brought out and announced that we would be getting two complimentary desserts. Although I would have rather gotten the meal taken off the check, I still appreciate their attempt to make up for the lack of service which wasn’t completely their fault. I understand that they were busy taking care of that massive group of people that came all at once. I would give the salad bar 5 stars, the rest of the food 2.5 stars(I’ve had better at other similar restaurants), and 4 stars for the friendly employees.

I visited here over a year ago and I found it to be quite wonderful except for the bug that I encountered at the end of visit. Since then I received a coupon and I decided to try my luck again. I have to say that they wait staff continues to be the back bone of this location. They are very quick and considerate, and in the 3 visits I’ve had in the past 6 months I haven’t had a single incident. The salad bar is well stocked and everything seems very fresh. The food I’ve ordered is prepared exactly as I asked, and I haven’t had any need to send anything back. For the chain, this is an exemplary example of how a Ruby Tuesday should be.

I ate here after a recent visit to King’s Dominion. The great thing about Ruby Tuesday restaurants all across the country is the consistency. I’ve never had bad food at any of them and this one is no exception. I was seated in the bar area and the bartender herself waited on me. She was efficient and courteous. This trip I decided to splurge and ordered one of the lobster dishes which for a chain like Ruby’s was actually quite tasty. Even though the lobster tails were small, you did get 4 of them so that helped. Ruby’s is one of my favorite chains and I’m not big on a lot of chains.
