Extremely nice wait staff and exceptional food and service! Will definitely be back when I’m in town again.

AMAZING. We’ve eaten there 5+ times and have been extremely satisfied every single time. The charcutterie is amazing and so are the specials — don’t pass them up! Great job!

Have been on a few occasions and each visit has been highly enjoyable. The menu is seasonal but the owner/​chef utilizes regional/​organic ingredients.
The Chicken Marsala is a taste explosion waiting to happen with each bite, also adding the portions were very generous.
The salmon is also outstanding, cooked to perfection, flaking apart with exceptional taste.
Not a big dessert guy here, but had a bite of my wife’s carrot cake and it was fantastic.
The service is outstanding; definitively can appreciate the mixologist on hand-​truly a man of his craft. Loved the fact I had only been there once prior and he remembered what I had ordered to the very lemon twist in my drink.
The owner is an extremely nice guy too-​operates a fine establishment and truly cares about each one of his patron’s dining experiences. Will definitely continue to visit!

The food and service was excellent. Will definitely be going back. The tartar is out of this world! Also the drink selection is top shelf.

Busy place even on a weekday so make a reservation just to be safe.
Dined with coworkers and everyone at the table raved about their meal. We all travel for work and eat at a lot of restaurants but this place is something special. Wait staff and chef are very friendly and attentive. Food is absolutely amazing at a very fair price.
I use Unilocal to find good restaurants but am too lazy to post. To give you an idea how good this place is… This is the first place I have felt compelled to review in the last 2 years.
We are going back tonight!!!

Go here! Amazing food and drinks. Service was spectacular, personal and friendly. The food, oh my, the food! You will not be disappointed if you like a fresh meal made to order. Try the mussels! And sit at the bar if you can! The bartenders really know what they’re doing.

Heard this place was tasty, so gave it a try while working in town. Kind of pricey, and I wasn’t super hungry, so tried an oversized appetizer of scallops with chorizo. Really good, though the chorizo was a bit on the chewy side, the scallops were delicious. Finished with a dessert of cheesecake drizzled with salted caramel. Again, delicious, but with a mediocre crust. Wait staff was attentive, and helpful. Dined alone, but didn’t feel awkward there. It’s great to see this as well as other nice places on Bridge Street doing well. Nice location on the west side of the cool drawbridge.

Excellent food at fair prices. Ashtabula harbor has several fine restaurants and Bascule Bridge is a little more upscale than the others.

Everytime that I have eaten at Bascule, the meal and experience are absolutely perfect. The mussels and filet that I had last night are Definitely the best not only locally, but on a regional level as well. The Arugula salad is fantastic. From start to finish, diners are never left unsatisfied. The menu is unique, and you will want to return to try everything on it– it’s all excellent. This restaurant is consistently outstanding. Excellent service, and incredible food!

Simply wonderful!
I ended-​up going here with a couple of colleagues on a recent Thursday evening. I had originally planned to order a dish that was on the menu posted outside. It turned-​out that it was an old menu and the item in question (a Cod dish) was no longer available. However, the Chef/​owner informed me that he had just received some sushi-​grade Ahi, and he would be willing to test a new special menu item for the following day on me. It was absolutely wonderful. It was perhaps the best I have ever had (and I love me some Ahi). The items my colleagues ordered were equally good.
The service was friendly. The food was tasty. And the Chef/​owner was very helpful. I’ll definitely be going here again.

What a great find. We had stopped for the night on a road trip to Cape Cod. After checking in at a Hampton Inn along the highway we ate out to look for someplace to dine and accidentally stumbled across the lovely shops and restaurants along Bridge Street.
After sitting down we were greeted by the Chef/​Owner who told us both the history of Bascule but also his special dishes. We started with the mussels and some wine. The arugula salad was outstanding, perhaps one of the best salads ever. The egg on top was a real plus.
My entrée was stuffed veal and whipped potatoes, with green peas, very filling and very tasty. Kim had the duck, which is a signature dish here. I had a couple bites and it was over the top outstanding!
We sat in the bar area with a great window view. Highly recommend this place for a great dining experience.

«The dinner was outstanding. The filet and top sirloin was seasoned perfectly and cooked as ordered. Great wine selection. Very nice atmosphere. The service by the waitress Tiara (sp) was also outstanding. She was very attentive and said and did all the right things just at the right time, just like we were in a more well known 5 star. She should be giving lessons. The crème brulee was excellent but the cheese cake was just ok. Had some nice iive elect guitar background music going. Would recommend highly.

The food here is cooked to perfection. The wine list is absolutely outstanding! I dine here once a week and on Wednesdays they have $ 5 off the bottles of wine. I appreciate the different specials offered. The staff is polite and professional. Everyone should dine here at least 5 times a year!

This was fantastic. Went on a Friday night and they were somewhat busy. I did make reservations. Our entrees were perfectly cooked. The Vanilla Bean Crème Brulée was one of the best we’ve ever had and it was perfect to share after a great meal.
Starter — Bibb lettuce salad with parmesan peppercorn dressing.
We decided to get the specials. Entrée #1 was monkfish with basmati rice. Entrée #2 was shortribs with parsnip purée. Both were fantastic.
This restaurant, along with the other shops and business owners, are doing a superb job at promoting local products and talent. The Ashtabula Harbor area is looking great and It is definitely worth the trip!
