The best part of Poppycock’s was the quick turnaround from ordering breakfast to it arriving at the table. There were 6 of us and all of our meals felt pretty so so. The coffee was bland and our waitress seemed perturbed that there are enough to fill a big table. It’s an easy place to go to have a conversation over some breakfast but it isn’t a place I’d recommend for the food but it did feel cozy.

Friendly, and fast service. Food was great but I wasn’t so into the oatmeal macadamia nut pancakes. Not my personal favorite but that is just my personal preference. Husband enjoyed the breakfast crêpe… I might try something different next time we come in. Overall I was very happy with the service. Warm and welcoming environment I will surely visit poppycocks next time.

Great place to start your Day skiing at Aspen Mountain. The oat meal pancakes were terrific! I could ski the whole morning on it

The owner was very warm and inviting so that got brunch off to a nice start. Four of us dined here and had breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes so there was something for everyone from oatmeal to crepes to sandwiches. We all enjoyed our meals and not a speck was left on our plates. The actual décor and atmosphere of the place is very ho-hum and not in Aspen styling but what it lacks in interior design it makes up for in the food.

I’m sure the pancakes are fabulous, just wasn’t in the mood, so ordered the veggie omelette with wheat toast and potatoes. Very disappointing. The omelette was dry, the potatoes greasy and the toast burn’t. Being the type who rarely complains, I cut off the crust and bit into the toast. Nope clearly burnt. I requested a redo saying the toast was a bit«dark» for my tastes. Next order was perhaps toasted 5 seconds less than the first one. Double fail. It sure was busy, but since our first choice was closed we decided maybe there were limited breakfast choices today. Did buy some pancake mix, to see if it measures up to the hype.

We were there for brunch on the last morning in Aspen. There was about a 15 min. wait even though the season is far from starting. There were five of us and we all ordered different things with eggs, pancakes, steak and corned beef hash. Everything came out of the kitchen together and hot. We were kind of sad to be going home, but the great brunch brightened our spirits.

Went to have the famous Oatmeal Buttermilk pancakes. They are definitely good but not mind blowing as I expected. Lower your expectations. It’s like having 2 for 1. Oatmeal and pancakes. It tastes like oatmeal that has been over cooked but with the added flavors.

Service was great and very fast, but food and coffee was definitely sub par. I ordered the avocado Benedict, the chili wasn’t flavored very well and the side potatoes were very bland. Coffee tasted burnt as well. Won’t be returning anytime soon.

Great casual atmosphere, breakfast all day which is never a bad thing. Only problem was trying to figure out to get the corned beers or the pancakes

Great place for breakfast! Good food, friendly and fast service, and bustling ambience. Western omelette with potatoes and sourdough was hearty and perfectly cooked. My 11 and 8 yr old ordered turkey crêpe and a strawberry crêpe — they loved them. Amazingly my tiny 8 yr old ate almost the entire thing! We arrived ~9:45 on a busy fall Saturday and had only a short(10 min) wait. Highly recommend! …and we ended up going back with the hubby and kids the next day because the other breakfast joint was apparently closed for the season. They recognized us and welcomed us back. Love this place!

Waited over an hour for eggs benedict and when they came out they were cold and over cooked. The food was bland and small portioned too. A few people around us left because they were so slow.

This place is really a 5-star diner. The pancakes were outrageous… best I ever had. Everyone at the table said it was the best they have ever eaten. Also, the owner was there and was very nice.

Okay, okay; I am going to sound like the hater! I just didn’t get all the hoopla surrounding this place. The breakfast was good. The service was okay and the variety of breakfast entrees were descent but so is IHOP. I had the Western Omelette. No surprises, no fireworks and I am not going to write mom. My wife had the«famed» oatmeal pancakes… Just ok. Good but if you are a foodie like me do not expect to be wow’d!

Solid diner with a few exceptional items on the menu(macadamia nut pancakes and homemade corned beef hash). Probably 3.5 Stars actually, but I’m rounding up for good prices in an expensive town.

Time was about 08:00hrs. Yes, I was seated promptly right after I entered this establishment. YES, they have a High Stool Seat Areas right up front of this establishment on the Left Wing. Since I am alone, the lovely staff ushered me to one of the seats/table which are empty a couple step down at the«Lower» Level of this establishment. From the Simple Menu, I opt and orrdered the following items : * Coffee($ 2.50) * Orange Juice($ 3.65) * Macadamia Oatmeal Pancakes($ 10.50) * Add Mix Fruits on top of the Pancakes($ 2.85) Overall is ok, the service was good. All in all decent establishment with HUGE portions. The Macadamia Oatmeal Pancakes comes with 3HUGE Layers. In terms of flavor it was just OK. Perhaps it can be over-whelming for some. TAKENOTE Number 1, if you want REALMAPLESYRUP, YES they have it but definitely additional cost added to your Breakfast/Brunch options. TAKENOTE Number 2, as I was checking their website, nothing showed up, just the Oatmeal ordering what nots. From the conversations I had with one of the servers, the Owner is out of town and she will inform them. It seems that this establishment is a REGULAR Heaven, coz the servers tend to know everyone and always strike conversations with the Regulars what nots. If you are into Oatmeal, by all means order those. But if you are NOT, then just passed it. I guess there are better«affordable» Breakfast/Lunch eatery for me to explore in the future. YES this establishment tends to get busy with other patrons alike. This recent visit was on Friday December 12th2014. Left this establishment about 09:00hrs. If I am NOT mistaken, the lovely server that morning, who took my order, her name is Narelda. Check 1037 Tbl 16⁄1 Poppycock’s 665 East Cooper Aspen, CO81611 Tel:(970)-920−1000 @241/2014

Yay for breakfast foods! After a night of dancing and drinking at Belly Up, I was ready for a hearty breakfast. Poppycock’s was certainly a good choice, they fixed me right up. Poppycock’s is cute little restaurant right in the heart of Aspen. Filled with funky paintings and furniture, this establishment is every breakfast lover’s desire. We decided to sit at the bar and were greeted immediately by a nice server. The menu has a sorts of options! As much I love trying new things, eggs benedict is always my go to breakfast food. I ordered a freshly made detox juice and added smoked salmon to my benedict. My boyfriend ordered a smoked salmon veggie omelet with banana-berry protein smoothie. The server made our smoothie and juice immediately and they were both excellent! Nothing like fresh fruits and veggies to perk you up int the morning! Our food came shortly after and smelled like absolute heaven. My smoked salmon eggs benedict was to die for. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the bechamel sauce was obviously homemade. This gorgeous dish was served with a side of deliciously seasoned potatoes and onions. My boyfriend’s omelet was just as good. The flavors of the smoked salmon, seasoned veggies and perfectly cooked egg were amazing. Needless to say, we devoured our lovely breakfasts and left a nice tip. I will be back the next time we are in Aspen and in need of fantastic breakfast.

Aspen is expensive and finding anything that’s reasonable price for the average family is virtually impossible. Poppycock’s comes about as close as you can get, not only that but the food is good and plentiful. We were the first customers of the day for breakfast, and told to take any table we liked. We were in a bit of a hurry so we quickly placed our order of Buttermilk Oatmeal Pancakes, Blueberry Granola Pancakes, Eggs with fried potatoes and toast, Belgian Waffle and a side of Pistachio Country Sausage. After a short wait our food arrived. Everything, looks great, though the toast was slightly on the burnt side. Everyone enjoyed their meal, the oatmeal pancakes were very good. We were all happy with out choice. Large portions would make this a great shop before skiing. There were a couple flaws though, my wife’s toast was a bit burnt, the other was the pistachio sausage. The patties were very thin, needed more seasoning, and dry. A good idea that needed better execution. While it was not cheap at just over $ 50, for Aspen I felt like the was fair value for what we had. Very friendly service made Poppycock’s a good stop.
