31 Ave Stop Deli

By far my favorite Mexican deli! It’s so hard to find authentic Mexican food around here in Astoria. I found this place on seamless and figured it doesn’t hurt to try a new spot. Even though a taco is $ 3 each, it is worth the price because that’s how good it is. Not every Mexican spot puts guacamole in their tacos but this place does! They have an amazing menu filled with great food. This is going to be my new go to spot! Love it!

Authentic Tacos. I went with the spicy chicken. Seasoning was perfect. The Tortillas were fresh and the same I’d get on the street in Mexico. I ordered through Seamless and they came within 30 min, sooner than the posted time. Side of radish is a nice touch and they included plenty of lime slices, which was key. Only looses a star for being a little heavy on the cilantro (it was in the chicken, the pico and the guac), next time I think I’ll just ask for it without. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Horrible service! I would NOT delivery from here agin. I would give 0 stars if this was an option.
I placed an order for delivery around 11, understand that it may be busy so waiting around 30 minutes wouldn’t have been an issue being that I didn’t live far from the area.
30 minutes turned into two hours wait for deliver! The delivery guy was EXTREMELY RUDE and hung up on me multiple times. By then, I didn’t want the food anymore. Waiting two hours I’m quite sure the food would’ve been cold and soggy. The delivery guy never attempted to show up at my house. He played this back and forth game of phone tag.
After an two hour wait and playing of hung up and phone tag the deli stop tells me the delete we guy leaves off to somewhere else. Highly disappointed due to the good reviews I’ve seen on here; Unilocal and GrubHub (where I’ve placed on my order)
Please do not order from this place unless this place FIRES the delivery guy.
He’s hung up multiple times after I was giving him directions since he’s claimed he was «lost». For two whole hours? Yeah right.

Always quick and tasty food when I get home late from work. Found on seamless, and have been ordering regularly on those late nights when no one else is open.
I’m even ordering during the daytime now!

Saw this place on Seamless numerous times. 1^st time I ordered to pick up at 2am, was made fast and was piping hot. Had a blt with homemade chicken sopa. Delicious. 2^nd time ordering I had the milenesa de pollo Super Torta, wow. Absolutely delicious and the sandwich is huge, and very well priced. Got delivery on the 3^rd time and it was at my place within 30min no problem. Solid food spot with authentic Mexican and all around good eats. I’ll be ordering from here regularly.

Perfect Mexican bodega that offers great food for a cheap price. Astoria is never short of authentic street tacos. However, this deli is located where few bodegas are located, therefore making it a pivotal neighborhood joint. I always order the tacos ($ 3/​taco) and cemitas without fail. The tacos are large and come with the normal toppings (chopped onions, radishes, and cilantro) AND a generous portion of guacamole per taco. However, they also have lunch specials that include arroz y frijoles for around $ 7. I highly recommend this deli if you’re east or Steinway and are looking for cheap, convenient, and most importantly, delicious mexican food!

Yes, it is quite unassuming and not really a dine-​in place. There are tables in back, however, if you’re the weird lone wolf type.
The photos outside the shop and on their website don’t seem to be images of the food they actually make. For example their nachos are not smothered in cheap, yellow nacho cheese as the web photo would lead you to believe. They are actually way better.
For $ 6.00, the regular nachos are quite good. The thing I love the most about them is the generous amount of avocado served on top. I get them without beef because honestly they are better without it. Delivery has always been fairly reliable as well. I’ve never been impressed with the other options here: aka burritos and tacos. But my wife has never been impressed by my burrito and tacos either, so what do I know.

A non-​descript looking joint, 31^st Avenue Deli Stop is a ²⁴⁄₇ deli that also cooks Mexican food that you can enjoy at two small tables in the back. The carnitas cemita was mighty, and all the supporting players were outstanding, with a messy but enjoyable assortment of items including avocado and cheese. The meat itself was merely ordinary though.
I was very pleased with the cecina taco, which scored well in meat as well as condiments.

Wow. This place looks so unassuming, I didn’t even bother trying it after living so close for more than a year. Once I did, I kicked myself for not bothering to try it sooner. Once I realized how great it was, I think I ordered delivery 5 times in like two weeks. This will continue, as it is one of the few local spots that delivers 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
This is easily some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in New York, including much more expensive dine-​in options. The tacos are cheaper and easily twice the size of the places I had been ordering from. The enchiladas are amazing, the nachos are unbelievable, and even the Philly and fries were surprisingly good. Make sure to try the chorizo. I normally don’t even like chorizo, but this stuff blew my mind.
Don’t make the same mistake I did. Try it now.

Had one of the worst chicken torta ever. The chicken portion was half of the bread and it was like they threw in the microwave. Smh. Never eating at this place again.

Some of the best mexican food I have ever had. Coming from CA, I eat a ton of mexican food. The nachos and the chilaquiles were hearty and delicious. Plenty of toppings, spicy and flavorful sauces, and reheated well when there were leftovers.

This place delivers 24 hours which is awesome. The food is ok, nothing really great, but nothing really bad either. It’s also pretty cheap with good sized portions. I can definitely see myself getting delivery from here one late night.

I actually don’t even want to review this place because I’d rather everyone just go somewhere else and forget about it. Popularity may jinx it, or at least add some time onto my nightly delivery wait. Just forget it… eat pizza across the street or something. Leave us alone.

This is clearly the local lunch hot spot. Owned by a nice couple, they made gyros and skewers and the usual burger and fries. It is rather tastey. Price was ok.

I have lived just above this deli for over 7 years and their food has always been consistently amazing. The best tacos in queens hands down. Also makes a great chicken parm. Breakfast meals are AWESOME and portions for everything are very generous. Plus it’s open 24 hours!!! I cannot tell you how many times this place has saved me from midnight starvation. Every time I think of moving out of this apt because of the weekend drama from Cavo erupting across the street, I think about my deli, shut my mouth and renew my lease.

The best tacos in Astoria! The prices are super low and the people at the store are so friendly!

When I lived in Astoria I craved their tacos! So yummy! I’m looking forward to eating here again soon!

Not too many delivery options at 4 in the morning, let alone authentic Mexican tacos! Oh, did I mention this is all run out of a fully stocked grocery-​deli!?? So not only can you get your regular household and grocery items, but also a budget friendly Mexican meal delivered right to your doorstep at any hour you wish.
This place really puts the C into convenience. Truly a godsend to the neighborhood.

This is THE best bodega of all time. The food is fantastic and always fresh. Bacon egg and cheese sandwiches for breakfast and tacos for dinner. Trust me, try them.
