If I could give this place a lower rating, I would. Terrible service, was treated like a thief when trying to include a third person to my dinner reservation at the last minute. The manager and the owner refused to accommodate forcing my third party to stand by my table for 10 minutes. Horrible experience!!!

Very upscale business. I came here with my sorority sister for her best friend’s birthday. Let me just start off by saying that there is a $ 20 cover charge. Anyway, my first impression of this place was that is was very beautiful and spacious. There are a few couches to the right which gives the first part of the venue a bar-like look. When you proceed to the back, it’s a night club. I loved how spacious it was, and for some reason, the drinks were cheaper in the nightclub area. Anyway, the drinks were priced on average at $ 14, which is decent for this type of location. This is the type of place that you need to come with a good 8 – 10 people. I was with about 4 people and we felt outnumbered. I would definitely come here again, when I have more disposable income, hehe.

If you want to feel like you’re in a Tom Cruise movie such as Eyes Wide Shut or Vanilla Sky, CAVO has it. If you want to party with GoGo dancers and bartenders dressed like strippers, it’s CAVO baby. If you want to Milli Rock on any block with Joker from Batman you’ve come to the right place(Literally). My home girl hosted her 30th birthday here by renting a VIP section on a saturday. We were seated right next to DJ Prostyles’ booth and they really rolled out the red carpet for my friend. Bottle service equipped with a mini sized birthday cake and top notch service is included. I really enjoyed my time here. The lavish detail of this venue is impeccable. Gorgeous chandeliers, rustic lamps, gold and red detailing everywhere. I underestimated CAVO after passing by so many times not thinking this was very much like… Don Coqui Astoria meets Webster Hall. I love the diversity of the crowd. Loved the mix of Salsa, Bachata, Hip Hop, Pop, Dancehall, R&B. This place is great for celebrations and a Girls Night Out. The gentlemen here were dressed to impress and a full array of Eye Candy was present. All Flavors! Cavo… until we meet again.

Cool place just don’t understand why I ordered two same drinks twice with different bartenders and got different prices. First time was $ 33 and the second was $ 30. I know it’s only $ 3 but still, its the principle. And to refill for the hookah $ 20? This isn’t Manhattan and I’ve been to 2 clubs in Manhattan that serves hookah and they don’t charge that. I don’t like getting ripped off and so would the business owner of cavo.

Came here yesterday for a friends bday party. They have valet parking which is great cause the neighborhood is difficult to find parking in. The venue has 2 different room, 1st room as you enter seems more relaxed but as you walk through it leads into a bigger room with a more club atmosphere. Both rooms were big but the back was huge. VIP is the way to go, the reg dance floor and bar were wayy too crowded. The restrooms were downstairs and of course always a line for females. The DJ was really good, he played everything and the best part was the crowd. Not ghetto at all!!! Everyone was dressed up and looked great.

Was here for Belly Dancing Night. The show started late and there wasn’t much of a crowd but it was entertaining. I was asked to join the dancer and managed to wiggle my hips in some sort of way. hahaha. The food was ok, but we did love the sangria! We’d probably come back at another time to see if the nightclub aspect is what it claims to be(it was a cold winter night and we were exhausted form a long day of trekking so we left at around 11)

On night club portion only, I am asking myself, why am I here? It shows I haven’t been here in a while, like years. The last time I was here you had tables, you could eat and the food was more than decent. It was a nice atmosphere, upscale and class, also dancing. The fall from grace must have been management having different opinions on what type of establishment they wanted. Gentelmens Club or night club and decided to merge the two… neither work for me. To my obviously ancient self,(I’m at least 20 years too old for this scene, but having an open mind and hanging out people much younger, still there were no redeeming qualities that would draw my attention.) It looked like vapid young girls playing dress up like hookers behind the bar, non-attentive at that, unless you are a male. The drinks were overpriced and weak. In reading other reviews I laugh because there was mention of a dress code… yes. You must wear some. Lol. So I’m trying to get past this whole scene and at least get into the music… ok, I couldn’t do that either because the DJ has ADD. If you think you are hearing a song you like, don’t get into it because it’s mixed too soon with something you don’t like and gives the same impression of a couch potato flipping channels. In short, I would never, did I say never? I mean never step foot inside here again. I gave it 3 stars for the fact this has to be my age factor at play. If any guy my age or older showed up there I would call them downright pervy..

Where are we going you might ask?! Cavo of course. For years, this was our go to spot for partying of course. The music was on point. The drinks were on point. Awesome vibe. Love dancing to some sexy beats. Esp house. But Cavo plays everything which is nice. From house to hip hop to reggaeton to pop. My friends and I were always dancing it up. Many late nights were spent until 4am closing time. Great times. As for the restaurant, the food was delicious. Bummers that they closed the kitchen and now are just focusing on the nightclub. The food was on point. Was high end eating at its best. The Greek cuisine was awesome. The Chilean Sea bass was cooked to perfection. The calamari was delish, crispy and delicious. I really enjoyed the service and the food. I was definitely impressed. And the dining room floor became the dance floor after 11pm. Nice for a dinner and some dancing. Great place. As I recently went back maybe a wk ago, the ambiance was the same. However the music was slacking. My friends and I went on both Friday and Sat, separate wks though. The crowd was different and the music was ok. The music changed every 10secs. Just when you got your groove on to one tune, the dj switched it. Bad mixing. With that being said I had a great time with the ladies. We made it our night and had fun regardless. Hopefully the music mixing gets better. Note now their is a $ 20 cover charge. Back in the day there was no cover it was free. Womp womp.

I have been coming to Cavo for years. Loved this place for its music and ambiance. They had a great Greek menu when dinning option was available. Perfect for a long date night. Dinner and clubbing afterwards. It’s no longer offered since a couple weeks ago. Shame because they had a killer branzino and octopus. I went to celebrate New Year’s Eve last year. We had a large group and ordered several appetizers twice because they were so good. Went this past weekend and the club scene was not the same. They are promoting to more of a Latin crowd so the djs and music being played was different. Not to mention the Dj on Saturday nights is awful. He kept changing the song every 5 seconds and there was no transition between songs. Guess he didn’t do some homework and hear how different types of music can’t just transition into each other!!! It not rocket science. Everyone«trying» to dance around me complained of the same. Especially not every 5 seconds! How do they expect people to dance to that mess?! If I wanted that type of raunchy atmosphere I would have gone to Don COqui or some of those other lower class establishments. Mind you I am Spanish myself,(so I am not being racist), but Cavo has always held its higher standards until now. All the white people cleared the floor and left once the Spanish music started. It was very evident and sad to witness all in matter of seconds. There is now a cover charge unless you are on a guest list. So be mindful of this that its no longer free. Hope other nights are better. I will follow up soon.

i LOVE Cavo! One of the best spots to go out in all of NYC, I believe! Why? If you’re looking for a club atmosphere with good looking people, great music, great dancing, and strong drinks you will always find it here. There are two rooms, one is more like a bar which still draws a crowd, but is a little more chill and relaxed. The second room in the back is the«club» like area with high ceilings, a DJ way up in the booth, VIP tables, dancing space and a huge bar. Really impressive interior design. The bartenders are great and personable, the appetizers I’ve ordered here are good. Drinks are very strong. The party scene here is unlike any other place, always draws a great crowd, and always is a fun time. In addition to great music, hookahs, huge space to dance, VIP tables, colored lights, etc. I’ve seen everything from belly and fire dancers to balloon drops on random nights. In my opinion, consistency is everything in a night life venue, and this place has it. I’ve only had the best times here. I wish so badly that his place was in Manhattan because Astoria can be annoying to get to via public transportation, Anyway, if you like clubbing and the scene it brings definitely check this place out! Cannot say enough good things about this place! One of my favorites for sure!

This is a review of the after hours or «club» portion: For starters, the female bartenders refused to serve my girlfriend who had cash and card in hand. That can be forgiven as I would assume they normally get better tips from men than women. What is absolutely unforgivable is that 1 in 10 people were smoking cigarettes inside. When I approached the manager outside and asked where smoking was permitted and said that were numerous people smoking cigarettes inside her response was«shut the fuck up, go inside and have a good time». Not only is it ILLEGAL to allow your patrons to smoke inside, but their reaction to my complaint was unwarranted and disgusting. Pros: Nice Décor, Good Music, Decent Girls, Good Food Cons: Horrible Service, Smoking Allowed Inside, Overpriced Drinks for Quality Result: Never going back

How often you can have a dinner in a nice outdoor garden with flowers, plants and lot of birds singing for you? Love the following: Fried calamari appetizer, soft and tasty and a huge portion for $ 12 baklava — portion is good for 2 and just the right level of sweetness and chewiness latte bread and balsamic vinegar Good service, nice and clean bathroom. Will definitely come back again…

this review is an update on the club portion, the dancefloor opens up after 11 pm The pro’s definitely outweigh the cons in this place, Cavo will always be one of the more upscale fancier establishments in queens compared to what you’ll find elsewhere, and Ill tell you why: Pro’s: There is an actual dress code, I consider this a pro because I don’t think its appropriate to go into a club with sweatpants or sneakers, its a turn off If you aren’t on a guest list, its no biggie, some places don’t even let you get in without being on some sort of list, admission is free there are two large bars that seat over 20 people, one is when you first enter and there is another one in the larger dining room which turns into a huge dance floor and vip tables, so there is plenty of space without feeling like your going to suffocate on Friday nights they have the dance movement, where they play all sorts of music from reggaeton, old house music, new house music and old hip hop hits like biggie, its nice to see that variety, plus the dj is from rocnation/hot 97 I like the crowd and how diverse it is, I met people from all parts of queens and long island and even Brooklyn from all ages and backgrounds, ranging from 22 – 35, and many Italians, greeks, Latinos, and the ratio of guys to girls was even which is a plus as far as drinks are concerned, if you want bottle service you’ll probably be spending a minimum of at least 300 dollars, but if you have at least five people it doesn’t end up being so bad majority of the drinks at the bar range from 12 — 14 dollars and 6 for a beer, the drinks were strong but at least they aren’t stingy with the amount of alcohol they give you, the bartenders were very friendly too the ambiance and décor was my favorite part about this place, they have beautiful fancy chandeliers and drapes, and lit candles with dim lighting in the first room when you enter, its perfect to get a drink by the bar with some hookah if you don’t feel like dancing in the second room there is also an open patio in the summer and a fancy waterfall the staff is efficient, when our drinks spilled on the floor, they cleaned it up right away to make sure nobody slipped or fell, and they always swept the floor throughout the night to keep it clean there is valet parking with no minimum charge, we got our car fast, believe me there is 0 street parking so you will want to use them also like any club, they close at 4 am if you bring at least five girls you get a free bottle of champagne, and if you bring seven girls you get a free bottle of vodka they also have deals on certain days where girls can eat free on Fridays or if you buy two drinks you get a free entrée, they have 25 dollar pitchers of sangria and $ 1 oysters, if you go on facebook you will see all their deals throughout the week they even have bellydancing on saturdays cons: the bathroom could use some improvement, its down in the basement where the hookah is made, and it was pretty gross despite the bathroom attendant being there, it smelled and it was humid, I couldn’t wait to get out of there, it reeked too

We came here on a Sunday night for the livingsocial prix fix dinner deal($ 45 for 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts). It was totally worth the deal. I really enjoyed the fried calamari. But the watermelon salad was super refreshing. Maybe it’s just that I hadn’t ever had watermelon in a salad before but it felt like I had been transported to a warm breezy beach. Then my ravioli entrée came and kicked me off the beach. It tasted good and really creamy but they sure used the stinkiest of stinky cheeses. I couldn’t finish it cuz it was way too heavy. The chocolate soufflé was surprisingly salty. It tasted kind of strange by itself but it went well with the scoop of sweet ice cream. The Baklava was wonderfully flaky.

Okay let’s be honest looking at the previous reviews had me iffy about coming here; but you can’t always believe what you read. You basically need to experience something for yourself in order to have your own genuine experience. I had made my reservation 1 week prior to 3÷7÷2015(the day I went) & also called 24hrs before to conform my reservations, the receptionist was very sweet and well spoken.(Major plus when you work in the restaurant field) Hubby & I were looking forward to this new experience, the valet parking which is complementary was pretty busy but they kept everything moving in a very smooth & orderly manner.(Please don’t forget to tip generously at the end of the night) Upon walking in I had a 10:30 reservation; but was seated immediately. There’s many parts to this beautiful venue. Lucky for us the hostess escorted us to the main VIP dining room, our seating area was beautiful. We experienced the entire scenery right from where we were seated. Our waitress name was«Chrissa», she was the most sweetest thing ever; we stared our night off with a pitcher of sangria which I had been looking forward to all night & it did not disappoint at all. The managers«Kevin & Gerlanda» made us feel right at home. They both came over to our tables, kindly introduce themselves to us, this is a very important part to me because theses people show that they actually do care about their reputation & customer’s experience. A small gesture like this can make a person’s night even more better! To our surprise there were a few appetizers sent over to our table; the Greek style meat balls were bursting with flavor, just the right touch of mint & lemon incorporated into one mouthwatering bite. The Greek spread came with hummus, tzatzki, & a olive spread; it was really amazing especially if you want a quick introduction to the main flavors. Now my favorite part was the«sagnaki» which is basically a pan seared kefalograviare cheese which was flambé ’ right in front of us!(I wish I could have recorded it) Let me not forget about the complimentary bread that also came out with the olive oil for dipping if I’m not mistaken. You guys are doing an amazing job just by your appetizers! For dinner I ordered the skirt steak which hubby & I both shared due to the generous portions they plate, the feta cheese potato crunch is out of this world. The herb ladolemono which was the sauce on the steak gave out taste buds a run for our money. «No dessert I pleaded» as I was so full from the entire night’s course. Kevin & Gerlanda gave us a round of drinks on the house to start off our«clubbing session», beyond grateful to the management who made our night incredible. The party scene here is out of this world, I meet the owner Tommy who was also a sweet heart & seemed like a very caring guy towards his customers. Form example I spilled my drink & decided to clean it up; he stopped me & told me he don’t want his customers doing that; that’s what the staff is for. Made me smile even more :-) Thank you everyone once again; you earned yourself a loyal customer. I cant wait to come experince to outdoor area when the weather gets nice.

Only went here once but I went on my 21st birthday back in 2012. I had such a great time. We had reservations for about 15 people. We all sat together and felt comfortable. The décor is beautiful inside and the staff was friendly and helpful. SO I haven’t been back since for 2 reasons. 1) It was EXPENSIVE for dinner and the 2) food was just okay. I’m going to repeat, I WENTTHEREIN2012 so I’m not sure how much has changed since then. Reading other reviews it seems like the food has gotten better. If I’m making a Unilocal review now about Cavo, that means I remembered them for some GOOD reason. Whether it was the atmosphere, the friends, the drinks or just the fact it was a birthday celebration I had a blast. Bottom Line: Go there. Try it and enjoy. If anything just go dance and drink for a good time

Came here for a cousins daughters birthday celebration. I was quite impressed with the décor inside this place. Since it was a private event, we got to try an assortment of entrees in buffet style from the restaurant. I thought the food was ok, nothing great. I’ve had better. A nice place as far as décor goes, however I think there’s better Greek options around Astoria.

Picked up a deal on Living Social. Wifey wasn’t pleased with my random Tuesday night choice of Greek Cuisine. The ambiance, décor and wait staff was great. But we already knew that for we had come to Cavo on numerous saturday nights to just spend time dancing and have a few drinks. This visit was a week day and we were ready to eat. My wife after a long day with the books and I after a days work. The meal began with bread and butter. We ordered fried zucchini and watermelon salad as an appetizer; 2 of the only 3 things which were on the Living Social menu. Both of us really enjoyed it. It wasn’t until the entrees came out that I saw a frown on my wife’s face. The Branzini she ordered, as per her words, tasted weird. When I tried it, I found it to be tasteless. My skirt steak, although was juicy, was extremely over salted. The desserts were really good. We had crepes and baklava. But still, before we left, the wife grabbed my arm looked me in the eyes very seriously and said, «can I ask you for a favor? Lets never come here again.» My lady has spoken. We will be searching for better Greek cuisine for another random Tuesday night.

This place is not what it looks from the outside. Once you step into the garden outdoor area, it feels like you are not in Astoria and in Miami or somewhere in the Caribbean. I was here for girls night as they use to have 2 drinks then a free entrée, but the manager was nice enough to provide complimentary appetizers as there was 8 of us. The outdoor area with also a mini rooftop is the best I’ve ambience and atmosphere I’ve seen in Astoria, inside there is a club and a bar so you get 3 different scenes. Inside is very fancy, also does not feel like an Astorian place. Food: Crabcakes were great! You only get 1 Seafood pasta is really good Meatballs with yogurt, amazing! Hummus plate, good! Calamari, was ok Service with the waitress for drinks was slow that is only reason why I’m giving 4 stars and drinks were pricey. I will definitely still come back for dinner or a night out! You don’t need to go to the city when you have this place in Astoria!
