THEBESTSAUSAGESINNYC! Hands down, Sorisso’s sausages are better then any that I have tasted in Manhattan’s(almost non-existant) Little Italy, anywhere in Brooklyn or on Arthur Ave. The cheese and parsley are my favorite. They also sell hot, sweet, broccoli raab, chicken, tomato(yes) and others. You can clearly taste the difference between Sorisso’s sausages versus other home made sausage. They make a wine sopresata that is out of this world. If you’re not into pork, they have tons of other meats etc to choose from such as stuffed clams, seafood salad, caponata, eggplant rollatini, chicken wings, lasagna, any kind of cold cuts, lots of freshly baked pasta dishes and TONS of other food. Sorisso’s also has a great selection of aggressively priced cheeses. The prices are far less then Fairway, Whole Foods and all of the other corporate, price gauging a**holes. If you’re into extra sharp cheese ask for the cheese with black truffles(sorry, it has a long Italian name that I won’t even attempt to spell). I found this gem when I lived in Astoria. I have not lived there since 2005, but I frequently work in the area and when ever time allows, I stop in. John makes me a styrofoam cooler and I load up on all of the good stuff. John, and all of the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I wholeheartedly adore Sorriso’s. I’m like a kid jn a candy store when I shop here.

Was really disappointed the last time I came there. It was a Sunday after church and asked the woman when the fresh mozzarella was made and she said this morning(it was 1pm). When I ate it, there was no way in the world it was made that day. I’m Italian and know what fresh mozzarella consistency tastes like when it’s just made. It was pricey too. At the same time I bought the bel paesi mini cheeses and she didn’t charge me; probably because she felt guilty. Otherwise they carry good stuff but that trust was lost.

It truly doesn’t get better… and you’re talking to a dude who swears by Philly’s Italian & Reading Terminal Markets so much that he has products shipped to NYC… no need any more! Such friendly customer service, amazing house-made charchuterie… CHICKENCORDONBLEUBITES… just…just…just…INMYFACE! Highest compliment I can give: I will not only walk the half hour round trip to stock up, schlepping all that goodness back… but I will pay the $ 2.50 delivery fee on Seamless to have sammies and sundries delivered. This dude don’t EVAH play that!

AMAZEBALLZ!!! I LOVE to cook, so places like this with quality, imported, authentic products are a slice of heaven to me. Be aware that the selections are small, but HIGHLY curated. I walked out with a nice big bag of groceries that included(but not limited to) imported squid ink pasta, 2 kinds of anchovies and a selection of fresh meat. This is a GREAT spot to build your Italian Pantry with fine imported products without busting the bank! The staff is WONDERFUL and cute as hell to boot! The items are a bit pricey, but I use groupon which makes shopping at Sorriso’s great deal.

I cannot possibly say enough good things about Sorriso’s! Firstly, it is family owned and operated by some of the best people I’ve met. They always treat you like family too. The food is 100% fresh and delicious. I am from an old school Italian family and we take our food seriously; Ive never gotten more oohs and aahs from catered food before in my life. Okay, so for the nitty gritty — WHATTOEAT?: *Their fresh mozz(get the salted!) is amazing! They do have a great selection of all kinds of specialty cheeses, but they make the mozz themselves and if you’re lucky enough to get it while it’s still warm, you will experience bliss. *They make their own flavored Sopressata which is divine — try the olive and fennel or the spicy. *If there is one thing I cannot live without, it’s the truffle parma cotto. Get double the amount you expect to eat because you will be sad when you run out! *Specialty meat orders — I once needed a 15lb brisket for a dinner party which they special ordered for me and had ready within 2 days. It was fresh and best of all priced great. I know they are able to get many kinds of exotic meats for special orders as well — think venison, ostrich, etc… In reality, I have yet to try anything from here that I didnt love, so get adventurous OR better yet, ask the guys(and gal) behind the counter for whats special that day — I promise they wont steer you wrong. Just remember that they are cash only. There is an ATM in house too.

Such a wonderful, wonderful place. I have regular fantasies about their fresh mozzarella. The staff is always super nice and helpful and they won’t judge you on how much cheese you can put away on a regular basis.

Drove up from Toms River for the purpose of exploring different neighborhoods and just for the experience of trying this place. We were absolutely not disappointed. Everything we purchased was homemade, fresh and delicious The Uncle Joe, the Goodfella, Caprese salad, Antipasto, shrimp cakes. All were exquisite. You really need to give this place a try.

So happy I found this place. This is the kind of place you come when you want to treat yourself and make yourself feel like shit because you just inhaled 4lbs of meat! They offer a variety of sandwiches, hot and cold food. I ordered the Godfather on a hero. It is a very big sandwich but I was determined that day! The sandwich was so perfectly constructed and with so much meat packed inside it, it was so nicely made. You know its good when you’re at home eating it and the meat and sandwich stays intact! This is a great lunch place and early dinner place. Very affordable and tasty. I will definitely be back when I want to inhale some more tasty meat.

I had high expectations for this place. I placed an order to be delivered on Grubhub. I simply ordered the Godfather with mayo and a diet coke. Delivery was prompt and the gentleman was nice, however, dry roll, no mayo I was underwhelmed. $ 20 for a sandwich and a soda… I expected more.

This, my friends, is the spot for antipasti. No, seriously, you think I’m joking?! I live right around the corner from the store. When I first moved in, I was craving a «neighborhood joint,» one that could display the authenticity of Astoria while also providing kick-ass food. And, my God, that place is Sorriso’s. I HIGHLY recommend getting their homemade salted mozzarella(either braided or in a ball). They make it fresh every hour, and it can last you a week! Their best meat is their red wine and garlic soppressatta, by leaps and bounds! They always have samples on hand. Further, you can get sandwiches and subs here, along with butchered meats, fresh pasta, and a multitude of Italian food imports. Just writing this review makes my mouth water, so I think I am going to bid adieu and frequent Sorriso’s.

Stopped by for the first time today. The grocery selection is a little light, but their deli services are top notch and they’re some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met at an italian deli. Got the godfather sandwich on a hero and it was one of the most loaded sandwiches I’ve ever seen. i’d say Parisi’s sandwiches in Manhattan edge it out slightly for balanced fillings — but they do use Parisi bread anyway. They sell whole salamis on a rotating selection. not sure where they get them from, but they are good. $ 20 a lb, a bit steep, but it’s a good quality product.

Amazing sandwiches! Just ordered a grilled chicken w mozzarella & sun dried tomatoes and it was finger lickin delish! Their homemade dishes are also really good. The prosciutto balls and eggplant rollatini are to die for. This is my goto deli for catering all parties. Never disappointed. Staff is super friendly. Always a pleasure to order from them. Keep in mind, it’s cash only.

Look, don’t hold it against me. I said Sorriso what else can I do? If my apology isn’t good enough, then… then come here and get some Soppresata and a Godfather Sandwich. What to get: Godfather Sandwich, Soppresata. What else: Karma will deal with you. I pulled up outside this place. It was rush hour. I was stuffed from all the other food I’d eaten. I sent my food tour companion inside and she purchased a Godfather and Soppresata. I was too stuffed to really enjoy the food, but I wanted to try it anyway. The sandwich was excellent, but comparing it to the similarly-named Godfather from the depressingly-passed-away Graham Ave Meats in Brooklyn that I’d had earlier, it wasn’t as delicious, nor as fresh. The lack of freshness bothered me a little, so I didn’t continue. For this reason, it scores a 4 instead of 5. Both my companion and I agree that this place is a 4, however it’s on my «return soon» list since I’d like to give the same sandwich(which, considering all of the exciting and über-Italian ingredients, should be delicious) another try with an empty stomach. Not a very useful review but try this: don’t eat it unless you’re really hungry. If you’re trying a lot of top sandwiches in NYC, try this one. If you’re trying to pick the best 2 – 3 in town to try, then skip it. Hope that helps more. And stop kicking me in the iso. You’re giving me a sore-iso.

I love Italian specialty stores, especially pork stores. I was in the neighborhood over the weekend and was told that this was the place to go. I don’t know what it is, but these types of stores are always staffed by the most genuine, courteous and helpful people I’ve encountered just about anywhere. This place was no exception, and if anything, tops the list in terms of A+ customer service. The young man who helped me was probably just out of high school and couldn’t have been nicer. He was clearly proud to work there and was singing the praises of the store’s goods the entire time. I picked up some of their fresh, homemade salted mozzarella, some sausages, a couple of steaks and two sandwiches(a glorified Italian combo and a chicken Francese with broccoli rabe and mozzarella). The mozzarella was some of the best I’ve ever had. Seriously. The steaks were beautifully butchered and the quality was outstanding — they were delicious. The sandwiches were good, but I can’t say they were the best I’ve had. NY is a big town with a lot of heavy hitters in the sandwich department. In the great Pantheon of NY’s best sandwiches, Sorriso gets honorable mention in my book, but not top billing. Still, the menu is long and there’s a great variety. Overall, this is an excellent family-run shop. If I lived closer, I would definitely be a regular. The quality of the goods coupled with their exceptionally friendly service makes it hard not to like this place. As a side note, it’s cash only which is inconvenient, but they have an ATM in the store if you need it. Check them out next time you’re around the way!

I love the look and feel of this deli, you can see the history in the store. As much as I love the store, I wasn’t really crazy about the sandwiches. I really was not a fan of the bread and that bothered me a lot. The stuff inside the sandwich was pretty good good and the staff was friendly but the bread really killed the sandwich for me. The food: Godfather– Ham, Cappy, Mortadella, Salami, Pepperoni, Provolone, roasted red pepper, oil & vinegar. It’s the first sandwich on the menu and it’s kind of the king of sandwiches in Italian delis. It’s a bunch of really good cold cuts with a red pepper sauce, it was good. The bread wasn’t old but just had a uncomplimentary feel to the cold cuts. It had a semi hard and kinda bland flavor, I didn’t like the texture of the bread, it didn’t have a good mouth feel. Goodfellas– Fresh ham, Provolone, pesto mayo. The mayo pesto had really nice flavor. And the ham was nice but the bread… oh the bread. This sandwich wasn’t as exciting as the Godfather but it was still OK. Pickled Eggplant w/garlic & hot peppers– I like the flavor of the antipasti, it does have a little bit of a kick, which is nice. But the texture of the eggplant was an issue for me. When I think of any kind of eggplant, I think very soft and tender, this was more firm than I am used to and I didn’t really care for it, it had a crunch which was weird for eggplant. $ 12/lb Homemade Antipasto salad– This was just OK, it’s just cold cuts in a vinaigrette. I wasn’t a fan of the vinaigrette, I didn’t like the texture of it, it felt kinda gloppy.

Ladies and Gentlemen. If you have been scouring Astoria or anywhere else in NYC for a LEGIT Italian deli, look no further. This place is absolutely next level delicious and authentic! Soppressata so good you’ll want to slap yo mama, Mortadella with the little pistachio pieces. NOM, Prosciutto you’d die for, Capicola you’d kill for, DO I NEEDTOGOON? They have some of the most interesting cheeses I’ve ever seen. I dont get too crazy with purchasing these cheeses but I do help myself to trying as many as they allow. which is usually any of them. The customer service is unreal here. They treat you like family. Specialty sandwiches and subs that are just fantastically flavorful and will feed you for two meals straight. BUTWAIT. THERE’S MORE. They’re not just a deli with cold cuts, cheese n subs. They also prepare some of the best sausage, chicken sausage, bacon cheeseburger patties, chicken burgers and so much more. Frozen or fresh, they have all your Italian needs. Might be the best Italian Deli in NYC. Period.

Oh my! Simply a great Italian deli/market with the freshest meat, cold cuts, bread, home made food, pasta, anything you want Italian. The staff is very friendly and they want to serve you with samples of their food. We took some some of the best store made food: — Stromboli was delicious with at least 7 different type of meat with the freshest mozz. You pick the size of this bad boy. Be careful its a heavy guy. — garlic bread is amazing. They use fresh chopped garlic and rub it all over the bread. Just a few minutes in the oven and wa la! — home made meatballs, delicious! — procuitto balls with cheese. Omg another delicious choice They also make fresh sandwich which I hear is amazing. I can’t wait to go back and take home more delicious food and maybe even try a sandwich. FYI…cash only

This place will spoil you — the guys here are AMAZINGLY friendly and just so nice!!! We bought some salted mozz, Asiago with balsamic, truffled cheese(which is called«life changing cheese» by the way), as well as some spicy sopressata, and some red wine and garlic sopressata — can’t wait to eat all that with our friends tonight! I also got an Uncle Joe hero — OMG, it was AMAZING. It comes with this insane garlic mayo that I could’ve just eaten a VAT of. We literally emptied out our wallets here(my husband initially thought the guy was joking when he told us our $ 100 total!)! Worth every penny. Love this place!

Redeemed an Amazon Local voucher here from the friendly, relaxed* staffers behind the counter on a Godfather on a roll, a Deniro on a roll(asked for an Uncle Joe but they couldn’t honor), and a Scarface on a hero. Solid product for sure, and FYI it’s Sorriso**‘s** on some signs. *Read: they don’t hurry your order out
