My friend and I were starving during lunch, and demolished the $ 10 lunch special. It includes a gyro sandwich, fries, and drink. My friend ordered the pork gyro and said it was to die for. I got the loukaniko and it was okay. I honestly wish I had ordered the pork gyro because I had read a ton of good reviews for the restaurant, but managed to order the least appetizing dish on the menu.

Really enjoyed the pork gyro! A bit greasy, though.

The chicken gyros are fantastic and the service is fast, there pricing is a little higher but it’s worth it. They don’t offer much sitting area which is its only flaw because it gets busy.

Pork gyro made for an adventurous delish straying of the orthodox gyros. And that pure Cherry juice, so addictive! Food always going out so always fresh!

Was out for a bike ride from Manhattan and it started raining so we decided to take cover and eat here. We ordered the Pork Gyro. This amount of pork in this was was incredible. The tzatziki here was almost whipped. Proj was moist and flavorful. One of the best gyros I’ve ever had!

The pork gyro was the best I’ve ever had — a quasi-religious experience. The meat was the perfect combination of crispy and juicy, and it was very flavorful. The balance of the rest of the toppings was appropriate. I had already had a slice of pizza so my husband and I split one, and I regret that immensely. Highly recommended.

Yee-ro, as the Greeks call it. Come to Astoria for these things: gyro, souvlaki, makaronia meki ma, Greek coffee, melamekarona, koururaki and gweeto looking Greek guys with half-buttoned shirts showing off their course, curly chest hairs. Come to BZ Grill for these: gyro and souvlaki! It’s no GRK quality but, it’s the closest thing to it in Queens. Portion sizes are HUGE — a platter is easily shareable. I’m partial to the fries — double battered fried and with oregano and feta, who can say no? Their special sauce is tasty but not necessary for the already succulent meat. Oh and they have souroiti — Greek sparkling water. Score! Came here for dinner tonight after watching«My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2» and craving Greek!

Reminded of how I like this place after a recent Groupon-induced visit. Large portions = awesome leftovers. Service could stand to be a little better if dining in. Customers do want water and asking about 6 times doesn’t really make a happy camper. Other than that def a good stop!

What can I say about BZ Grill that people don’t already know? Perhaps there are some folks that don’t know that BZ has the absolute best chicken gyro sandwiches? Their pork gyro isn’t shabby either. They have interesting fried potatoes that seem to always be crispy. Salads are average. The only downside is that sometimes you need to wait a while because they are so BZ.

We have been ordering from BZ Grill for years and we really like their food. However, the last two times we ordered delivery, our orders were very late, incorrect, and no remedy was offered. I’m not sure if management has recently changed, but it certainly feels like they don’t care whether their customers have a good experience or not. Last weekend we ordered delivery and after an hour and a half we called to ask where our order was. It sounded like it was lost in the shuffle(which happens occasionally in all restaurants), and the woman on the phone said she would get it to us in 10 minutes. We called again 30 minutes later and was told it was almost ready. More than 2 hours after placing our order, we still had no food. We called AGAIN and was told the food was walking out the door. In the end, yes, we did receive our order. But for the manager to not offer any sort of mea culpa, just empty promises, is very disappointing. We also reached out to BZ Grill privately to try to resolve our complaint, but it’s been a week and no one has responded to us. Really hope they can get their act together.

Took a crew of 5 to eat here the other day and I was embarrassed at the quality of the food and service after talking up this place to my friends. The Pork Gyro was dry and not very tasty. What the heck happened here people? That was not the worse of it though. Our server was inattentive which was quite annoying. Additionally, he waited until we were ready to pay to let us know that the credit card machine was down. I know this is a common thing among waiters who want their tip right away instead of waiting and he was lucky that(1) I had cash to cover the dinner and(2) I did not listen to my friends who suggested that I should not tip him. I left him an 18% tip instead of the customary 20−25%! I might have to find me another Gyro joint as this was not a memorable experience for me with guests to boot.

One of the best chicken gyros I have ever had! Enough to bring me out of my Unilocal semi-retirement just to write this. Love the crunchy pieces of chicken that are mixed in with the juicy flavorful pieces from deeper within. Great lunch special deal. Gyro, fries and a soda all for $ 10. Too bad I missed it this time.

Simplicity/Mastery: When a restaurant know what they are good at and does it very well. BZ Grill is straight forward with their food. There is no gimmick to lure you in or deceive you on their quality of the food. The physical appearance of the store front is not an accurate reflection of what is in the inside. It’s more of a hidden gem. The curb appeal may deter others, but that only gives you more opportunities to visit. Once inside, you are able to look directly into the kitchen as they prepare your meal. Service is fast. Staff is friendly. The food is simple and delicious. I ordered the lunch special(gyro, fries and a soda for $ 10). I went with the pork gyro. The taste of the pork is well balance– a little juicy, a little crunchy w/the char, not too much fat, a touch of salt, and just the right amount of flavor that you need to take a second bite. The gyro was neatly arranged– it can get messy at times. Overall, a great place to grab a bite to eat.

Wow. I’ve been here a few times and today really impressed me. The food has always been extremely tasty, but today I received a mound of food rivaled only by Mt. Everest(see picture). Even with this abundance of meat, it was still delicious. My only regret with BZ Grill is not reviewing before. Today I had the chicken gyro(meat rotated on a stick, cut off and then browned on a grill). It was moist and mouth watering. My wife had the pork souvlaki(pork on a wooden skewer). I stole a piece and enjoyed it as well. The BZ sauce was a great accompaniment to the meat. I will continue to patronize BZ Grill whenever I’m in the area.

Easy, BZ, beautiful, cover grill. BZ follows the traditional Greek«model», and you could not«make up» Gyros this good. Some of the only authentic Athens-style Pork Gyros in the US, and possibly the best. You can travel from the BZentyne Empire to Vancouver, BZ and you won’t find a Gyro this good. Real Gyros. This is the Grill Deal. They don’t have Chicago-style Gyros that most of you probably know as Gyros. But BZat as it may, it’s still *the* destination for Gyros in Queens. You simply must try them. Get: Authentic Pork Gyro But: Be careful, there’s often nowhere to Pork your car And: It’s not very healthy, but it wins when it comes to «ratio of deliciousness pork calorie» More stats: Has the most customers of any Gyro shop(pork capita) As seen on TV: Inspired the TV show«Pork & Mindy» And in politics: Inspired the entire Porkressive movement If you want to torture a Beanie Baby-obsessed sister, go to «Beanie Grill» where they’ll force feed her Beanie Baby Bits. The owner was engaged to Kate Winslet. She dumped him on a boat for Leo. So he(Billy Zane) «drowned» his sorrows(pun intended) by opening this place with his initials as the name. Up in Canada, as I found out this past weekend, Gyro is a Pork(or Chicken) product. In that way, the Gyros are very similar to those back in Athens. They are also delicious. However, in the USA, Chicago invented its own type of Gyro. A ground combo of beef and lamb, made famous by companies like Kronos. That«Gyro» has become famous all over the US, and is absolutely delicious. In NYC, it’s perfected by «Gyro World» and«Greek Express» up in the Bronx. In Queens, «Gyro Uno» does a very good one. But those are all«Chicago Style Gyros.» I’ve only ever had one really amazing, authentic, delicious authentic Athens Pork Gyro in the USA. And that is at BZ Grill. If you are a hunter, but are too young to own a real gun, then go to the BB Grill, where they’ll give you a free BB Gun with every meal. It’s was a favourite haunt of BB King, and is where the band BBMak and the singer BeBe Peniston hang out. Easily one of the best foods in Queens, and one of USA’s best Gyros(although it’s not what Americans call a Gyro), these chunks of pork have marinaded on the rotunda/spindle, and are sliced off and fall into your fluffy soft delicious pita along with some lettuce, onions, tomatoes and yogurt sauce. Everything about the Gyro is the same as a traditional American(Chicago) Gyro, except for the fact that it’s chunks of delicious juicy crunchy tender dreamy grizzly pork, rather than the ground combo of lamb and beef. If you’d like to fill up on gas while you eat, then check out the BP Grill instead. It’s across from the Exxon Lounge and down the road from the Texaco Family Diner. BZ Grill’s service has never been amazing, and it’s never been bad either. I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes for anything. The food has always been extremely fresh, dangerously sizzling hot, and incomparably delicious. The pita and lettuce they use are fantastic. I stop here for an authentic Athens Pork Gyro every single time I am in town. I’ve also tried their Chicken Souvlaki, which was good, but not great. I’m spoiled by the amazing Souvlakis up in Buffalo. However this Pork Gyro is incomparably wonderful. If you have to squint in order to see your food through all the smoke from the kitchen(which is actually an open kitchen), then you’ll have BD Eyes, which is how this place got its name(BD Grill). If they were in Toronto, they’d be one of many serving this product, but in the USA, they’re an island. A beautiful delicious Greek Island at that. And for the record, of all the authentic Pork Gyros I’ve tried(many in Canada), BZ Grill is right up there at the top, just ahead of Messina, which is my fave in Toronto. They have a location in Washington: DC Grill. One in Kelowna: BC Grill. In Burlington: VT Grill. In Raleigh: NC Grill. In Charleston: SC Grill. In Morgantown: WV Grill. In Rapid City: SD Grill. In Sao Paulo: SP Grill. In London: BBC Grill. Which is the location where a lot of single girls go, for some reason. I have no idea why. Get yourself to BZ Grill and try this amazing authentic Pork Gyro, just the way you’d get it in Athens. Queens is the food capital of the USA and BZ Grill is the authentic Gyro capital of NYC. I’d love to take you here for a Gyro. Really I would. But I’m BZ washing my hair. Or maybe I’m just playing hard to get. If you’re not into people who play hard to get, then you wouldn’t want this Gyro anyway. You’re better off at the EZ Grill. There’s nothing you can eat that can’t be yumm Nothing you can grill that can’t be nommed $ 7 you can pay but you can learn how to make it It’s BZ There’s no Gyro you can make that can’t be made It doesn’t taste as good when it’s been saved The Gyro here is pork but pork doesn’t fit the song so lamb will have to do… It’s BZ All you need is lamb All you need is lamb All you need is lamb Lamb is all you need

It’s a little Greek shack further down toward the residential part of Astoria Blvd and honestly, I really don’t see what the big deal is. I have been here a handful of times and to me, it is average at best. The restaurant itself is tiny and there is only one server. The food: Gyro– Pork meat, served in pita bread with tzatziki and vegetables. First things first, it’s not a «gie row,» it’s more like«euro.» The gyro here is huge, it’s probably one of the most stuffed gyros I ever had, but unfortunately it was stuffed with dry/tasteless pork. I just remember taking bite after bite thinking the flavor of the pork would kick in, it never did. Greek Fries– Oven baked fries with feta and oregano. I thought the fries were great, they are a must order. I thought the fries were nicely crisp especially for baked, the feta offers a nice tang that is not too strong and adds a nice, rich flavor. Bifteki– Roll of seasoned ground beef, stuffed with cheese, served in pita bread. I thought it was rather dry and lifeless. The menu says stuffed with cheese but it was barely noticeable as was the flavor. I would skip this. Chicken Gyro– Slowly Sizzling Boneless Chicken, served in pita bread with BZgrill sauce. I thought the chicken was really tender but lacked flavor. In a weird kinda way, it didn’t feel like chicken at all.
