I’ve read so many great things about the Ditmars location that I couldn’t wait to try the new 30th avenue spot. It’s tiny but perfect for a quick bite or pickup(which is what we did). We got an order of edamame, spicy miso ramen, and vegetarian ramen. All were excellent. My only suggestion would be to add another veggie option, maybe veggie miso!

I’m not sure why this place has such good reviews — my friend and I came here for dinner and thought the whole experience was very mediocre. Hinomaru Ko is really tiny, only two tables and a couple of counter seats. We came on a Sunday night around 7:30pm and managed to snag the last two counter seats without having to wait. We decided to split an order of the Hinomaru KO sushi to start. The rolls were huge and tasted decent, but were also about 70% avocado. We both ordered the Hinomaru Ramen, which was a bit spicy from the«fireball», a spicy pork meatball. The noodles were thin and cooked very al dente. This place is so small that I went to use the bathroom and had to walk through the kitchen. The door to the bathroom swung almost right over the stairs to the basement. I was amazed that they hadn’t covered the stairs at all! You know those open basement stairs on the sidewalk that every New Yorker is afraid of falling into? This was basically that, except right next to the bathroom. Overall, not impressed and would not recommend.

A lot like its older brother location on Ditmars, Hinomaru Ko fits the bill. Our order was fresh and properly packaged to help formulate our own bowl of ramen at home. With the temps dropping, I’ll be visiting this new locale very often !

Much needed ramen place to fill the cozy 30the Avenue location! The noodles are perfectly al dente, which is difficult to master when noodles are absorbing the hot broth. I ordered the Spicy Miso and asked for the fireball on the side, that way I could determine the amount of spice I put in. Further, the portions are massive! I generally eat a lot, and I came about 2⁄3 of the way and then had to full-stop. Reasonable prices with exceptional quality, we’re thrilled to welcome HinoMaru to the neighborhood!

I was so excited to try Hinomaru’s baby location. Their Ditmars location is one of my very favorite places to eat ever! My only complaint is that they haven’t opened a location in Sunset Park yet;). I just moved there from Queens, and miss my regular ramen fix. So after my first visit to Hinomaru Ko I can say that the standards are still super high and the food is just as delicious. I had a super thick and juicy pork bun(love that sauce!) and my favorite appetizer, the broccoli tempura… It was fantastic of course and I can’t wait to come back for the ramen soon. Super cute on the inside and the staff is cool and friendly!

This place is amazing! Been going to Hinomaru on Ditmars since they opened. It’s great to have another one. The food is just as good and the place is just a mini version of the original. Recently moved to sunset park and am trying to lobby them to open one over there. Can never get enough Hinomaru!

Really cute ramen spot that opened recently close to my job. I got recommended to this place by a customer of mine(they have been to the bigger Ditmars branch and loved it) and so I decided to grab a late lunch/dinner to go on a gloomy & rainy day. I ordered the spicy pork ramen and had to wait 15 – 20 minutes as the chef went out to grab a few extra ingredients. The server was kind enough to notice this and packed a complimentary pork bun(really delicious btw). Overall the service is great and everyone is really friendly. Fairly priced and excellent hole in the wall. I will definitely be back to actually sit down and slurp.

This place is really really tiny. It can only fit 10 people! The music they played did not go well with the atmosphere and it was really cold! I had to keep my winter coat on, which made it uncomfortable to eat in the tiny space. That being said, both take a we ordered(hinomaru and veggie) were pretty good. My veggie ramen came with a lot of veggies and the flavor of the broth was well balanced. I wouldn’t recommend the edamame as they were way too salty. Service was excellent though.

I came here many times. I love the Shoyu noodle. The Chashu porky are very tender and the soup is just right not too salty. Also the fried squid legs are so good. It’s kind of small place and there are only 10 seats. But it worth to try.

Fast delivery, AMAZING broth, perfect noodles, I had the Miso Ramen and it was one of the best broth I’ve had since I’ve moved here.

I had their signature ramen dish, the Hinomaru ramen with poached egg to start out as well as the pork buns. Both were delicious and I have to say that the ramen was one of the best I’ve ever had. I’m a big fan of their ‘fire ball’, which is a spicy ball of ground pork that you drop into the mix. Delivery was prompt but I will try to eat at their tiny spot on 30th ave next time for a better dining experience.

Best ramen in Astoria finally comes to 30th avenue! As much as I wanted to like the other ramen places on this side of Astoria, I always found myself trekking to ditmars. Thankfully I don’t have to anymore and they even deliver to my apartment!!!

So happy to have this ramen shop in my neighborhood! Authentic Japanese ramen shop. We had Tonkotsu and Shoyu ramens with a plate of Pork gyoza. Chashu is actually pork Kakuni, which melts in your mouth deliciousness! They have soft opening discount now, so rush to Hinomaru Ko!

I made a trip out to my favorite Korean take-out. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it had converted to a miniature version of Hinomaru Ramen that is situated on 33rd/Ditmars. I was disappointed to no longer feed on the Don menu, but at the same time super excited because we LOVE Hinomaru Ramen. The food was what we expect from Hinomaru, absolutely delicious.

A little different than their Ditmars location, but just as amazing! Same Hinomaru quality, but this location focuses more on TAKE-OUT, DELIVERY, and FAST, CASUAL dining. It’s a small shop with 2 tables, each with 2 chairs. There is a window bar with 4 chairs and a bar at the kitchen window with 3. So it’s good if you wanted to pop your head in for a meal, but not so great for large groups – take the train for the Ditmars location. They also only take cash, no credit cards, so make sure to stop by an ATM beforehand! Their menu is more or less the same, with all the key items and maybe a few things missing here and there. As for what we ordered, the Chashu Bun is THEBOMB!!! I completely forgot to take a picture because it was so good, I just inhaled it. It’s a must-try. We also ordered the Sukiyaki Don and the Chashu Don. You can’t go wrong with any choice here, but the Chashu is where it’s at for me. We used to live near the Ditmars location, so I was sooo happy that they were opening up a second one near our new apartment!!!(They even have my Shoyu ramen on the menu!) I’m so glad they moved with me! :)

Such yummy ramen! Had the Shoyu ramen and it was a delicious balance of flavor. The pork buns are the best I’ve ever had. My friend had the Hinomaru ramen, and it was amazing! Perfect amount of spiciness without being overwhelming. Great flavor! Really great food option for a cold day.

Had the pork buns loved how the waitress explained to my daughter and I to eat it as you would a sandwich. The shrimp buns were very generous in portion also the fried chicken balls were juicy and crispy at the same time.

Went there yesterday for dine in with my boyfriend. We had the vegetable spring roll which is same as Ditmars branch. I had the veggies ramen, this one is excellent clear vegetables broth. It is not the same soy milk broth as the Ditmars but i love both soups since i am a vegetarian. My boyfriend had spicy miso added the poached egg. it is very good as always. We love how they decorated here This place is closer for me. We definitely come often Especially this month 20% off for noodle dishes.
