I have been to Hong Kong and let me tell you, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey! Don’t let the outside stop you from stepping in, this place is a jewel in the rough. Hands down my top choice for Asian food in Astoria. Everything was rich with flavor, the sauces accompanying our meal were so complimentary, they did not overwhelm the dish but gave it that extra kick. We got hot and sour soup which was the perfect consistency with tbe right amount of spice. I ordered the Mu Shu pork. It was jam packed with pork. Some places are all veggie, little beef. Oh no, not here, my dish had tons of everything! I’m going to be eating leftovers for days. My fiancée built his own combo, BBQ — which was phenomenal, thick and juicy, sesame chicken — not dry at all, pork chow mein that had great flavors, and a huge shrimp roll! Best of All we got all of this food for a great price. You wont leave here hungry, you may actually have to have the staff roll you to your car! We will definitely be back!

We were craving chinese food on the road trip back from Cannon Beach to WA. Unilocaled chinese restaurants and this one came up. The location and exterior of the building is a little questionable but the interior is set up nicely. It’s clean and our server was helpful and prompt. We usually stay away from lunch specials at Chinese restaurants in general and order different dishes. We ordered the Beef LoMein(lunch size), Sesame Beef and Chicken with Pea Pods and Vegetables. It also came with pork fried rice already so we didn’t have to order rice. The food tasted good and the portions were generous. Our favorite was the Chicken with Pea Pods and Vegatables. It had a good amount of snow peas and other vegetables mixed with it. If I was in the area hankering for Chinese food, I wouldn’t mind coming back here. The restaurant could benefit from background ambient music. It’s a little too quiet and you can hear your food being cooked and mixed in the kitchen. I guess that’s okay but it made it feel like you have to keep quiet eating as well.

Went in for lunch, got the lunch #5 which is sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice, and a shrimp egg roll. Egg roll tasted like it was frozen. Sweet and sour chicken was bland, but edible. Fried rice tasted old. I know fried rice should be made with leftover rice, I don’t mean that. It was also very, very salty, like it had been made the day before(or maybe two days… more?) and reheated with more soy sauce for moisture. Not really any vegetables in it, which was strange. Just rice and a little bit of pork. The hot and sour soup was pretty decent. The food was unpleasant but was not off, no risk of food poisoning. So there’s that. I will not return. I hope I was just there on a bad day, maybe a day when they’ve run out of fresh ingredients. It was a Wednesday. They were doing a pretty brisk takeout business, maybe those customers know something I don’t.

DONOTJUDGETHISPLACEBYTHEEXTERIOR! With a strong 4 star rating on Unilocal,we came here for my son’s Chinese food craving. However, when we saw the business from the street and then pulled into the parking lot, we started having second thoughts. I am so glad we ended up going inside anyway. All of us had the sweet and sour chicken and fried rice with our meals. The sweet and sour sauce was definitely made in house. The color was a bit different and it had a very fresh, unique taste. The flavor of the ginger really came through in the sauce. The rice was also great. I loved that they didn’t have tons of miscellaneous junk in friend rice as most places do. The rice was moist and well flavored. We also really enjoyed our main dishes. The portions were good sizes and the prices were reasonable. The waiter was prompt and efficient. We were all very happy with our food but I did insist on leaving immediately when a gentleman who smelled like rotten fish-guts sat down in the booth next to us I was barely able to keep myself from vomiting so there was no way I was going to be able to finish eating. That is not the fault of the establishment however and they brought us boxes for the food and the check right away. If you are craving Chinese in Astoria, I would recommend giving this place a try!

Reviews for this restaurant are good but I’ve been reluctant to stop in because on the outside it looks a little sketchy. However, finally decided to try it for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the interior. A little worn but actually fairly nice inside. Clean, spacious, comfortable booths. I ordered the Schezuan beef and it was wonderful! Extremely flavorful and a large serving. Came with a good, hearty hot and sour soup, rice and a spring roll. Too much food for a lunch price! Service was good and it wasn’t crowded. A little difficult to get in and out of the parking lot but you do what you have to. Lol Definitely on our list of preferred lunch places!

I’ve been around the world and this is my favorite Chinese restaurant. My grandfather used to take me here when I was a child. Not sure if it has been the same owners or not but it’s always been good. The best BBQ Pork Lo-Mein. Almost worth driving from Seattle for but definitely from Long Beach or Seaside.

This place is an absolute hidden gem! Not too far from seaside, where we stayed, Hong Kong had amazing food at a great price! I had the almond chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice, and pork chow mein! Everything was delicious and given at very generous portions! Awesome find for some Chinese down at the coast!

Super fast service! The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were astronomically large. Literally the fastest service ever. It took 3 minutes for our main course to come out. You get soup, water, tea, and an entrée, with fried rice, General Tso’s chicken, spring roll and wantons. All for $ 6.50. Worth it. Every penny. Lunch special, where else can 2 grown adults eat for $ 11.70 with take away leftovers.

This place is the greatest place for Chinese food in Astoria. I tried the potsticker and egg flower soup that was the bomb. This place is very friendly and they have a bar which produces great beer and other alcoholic beverages. They serve up a mean Sherley temple.

Fast and friendly service. Food came out within five minutes of ordering. Only problem with that is, you know most of the food is pre-made. For example, the chicken that is used in the general tso’s chicken has already been cooked and cooled in it’s batter. When they return it to the hot wok and add the General tso’s sauce, it makes like a thin hard candy coating on the outside and you still have soggy batter in the middle. The flavor was all there but the execution was not. Big portions

I’d rate the place 2.5 stars but it wouldn’t let me give a half. Restaurant was super cheap! $ 20 for 3 people with leftovers for days. Recommend splitting a dish for sure and probably 3 ways. The owners haven’t raised the food prices for 30 years I bet. Atmosphere and décor was typical for American Chinese restaurants. Clean and tidy. Service was great. Food was so so. Ordered the beef chowmein, combo-fried shrimp with almond chicken and BBQ pork, combo– white rice, orange chicken and sesame chicken. Wouldn’t recommend the sesame chicken as it has no sauce and is pretty bland and dry. Almond chicken was the favorite of the family. My 11 yo found the orange chicken too spicy to eat but I enjoyed it. BBQ pork was dry. My 14yo gave the beef chowmein a 3 star rating.(I didn’t try it).

Stopped in out of the blue one day, as we were in town visiting family. The girls working here were so sweet and our food came out promptly. We ordered the lunch specials and seriously there was so much food, we were able to make several meals out of it with our left overs. I would definitely recommend the Chinese food here. So yummy.

Reasonable prices for decent Chinese food, large portions with seemingly fresh vegetables and the prices are very reasonable, especially for Astoria. I would definitely stop here again if I had a craving for a large meal of above average Chinese food.
