Attentive thoughtful service, great beef chimichanga, with some heat. No overly cheesy rice and beans. Not the usual Mexican you find around here. I’m hooked!

I’m from California so I’m used to really exceptional Mexican food. This place is ok at best. The only redeeming thing about this place is that the owner seems to be polite. If you’re looking for spicy homegrown Mexican, find another place.

Where did these high reviews come from?! Worst Mexican food and awful service. –Tortilla chips were stale –green salsa too salty –red salsa too spicy with no flavor –chicken taquitos: dry chicken, over fried, no flavor –chicken quesadilla: greasy, no flavor –guacamole: mashed avocado with no seasoning, barely a half serving. Waiter never checked on us and brought us the guac after entrees came out. We tried to get his attention several times and finally had to go to the entrance to pay out bill. When we gave feedback that we were not happy with our food, he said we were not going to get anything for free. So incredibly rude and unappreciative of business and having happy return customers.

The men’s bathroom looked like a scene from Saw V. The food didn’t taste fresh at all. The server was rude and inattentive. Definitely a miss.

I came in search of pasole. Found it! It was great, especially when I added my lime and a little salt… The star tonight was the shrimp cocktail. It was like a ceviche soup… SO. GOOD. …an added bonus… Real Mexican Coca Cola! Mister had the camorones diabla… He liked that too. The salsa served is hot. The chips are alright…

Everything was fine. Had the mole chicken enchiladas. It was very flavorful but I’ve had better. Not huge portions. Wish there was another salsa. Chips were never refilled.

Absolutely delicious Mexican food! We slicked up every drop of our dinners after eating all the chips! This is the first time that I have eaten my Spanish Rice — it was not dry but light, fluffy & fresh!

Will drive from Seattle to get my Texmex fix. Being from Texas, I had given up hope of finding a good place in PNW. This is it. Loved it all. Fresh made tortillas, chips, carnitas, refried and black beans, chile rellenos. All great.

A great meal! They actually do prepare Oaxacan dishes! Real mole is always a treat, as is carnitas. Don’t be put off by the smell of mildew – it’s in the carpet, not the food. This is Astoria, after all, where it rains an enormous amount.

Great service and awesome authentic food! I have tried all the other mexican restaurants in town, even the food truck. This place is by far the fast, friendliest and best food. Enjoy! Carne Asada Tacos are the best!

The Carnitas plate was wonderful. Get the homemade corn tortillas! The chips were warm and went great with the green salsa.

The grilled meats and the molé are just like what you’d find in Oaxaca. The salsas are also impressively spicy and perfect for the tacos.

Excellent Mexican cuisine. Every time! Authentic flavors and tender meats. Definitely the best in town.

Hot, hot salsa… love it! Both the red and green salsas were delicious, as well as the small and sturdy chips that were great for dipping. I had the burrito plate for $ 9. I loved the light and fluffy rice and cotija cheese over the semi-whole beans. The burrito was medium sized and filled with yummy carne asada. I usually don’t do wet burritos, but the red sauce, cheese, and sour cream on top added a lot of great flavor. My husband likes the street style tacos($ 2 each). Service was excellent and the food came out quickly. Fair prices, I would definitely come back!

The food is a hit and a miss when I went there the first time the food was great. The second time is a different story the beans were cold the pork was so dry that it was shoe leather and very bland. The service was very friendly and very helpful when trying to decide on what to get.

This was a great mexican place. It wasn’t sloppy or cheesy or overly saucy like a lit of Mexican places can be. We hadn’t read reviews and just drove down the street, saw people in here at 6 pm, and went in. Great food.

This unpretentious restaurant has a real«made by family» feel to it. I had a dish called Enmoladas Oaxaquenas. These chicken filled soft rolled tortillas are smothered in an extraordinary mole sauce. The service was friendly and efficient. Definite thumbs up.

Had carnitas tacos — delicious! Very flavorful. Husband had carnitas burrito — he said very good and filling. Complimentary chips and salsa — nice! We liked the verde sauce but thought the red sauce had way too much paprika. Fast and very friendly service. Very clean. Recommend.

Tacos: One of them good. Nachos were served hot and the salsa was good. Good atmosphere

I have been to Oaxaca many times. I have had real authentic mole. There is nothing that really compares, but, I have to say, this comes damn close. This is the only mole within the US that has brought me back to Mexico. The owner is polite and kind, service is quick and efficient, the place decorated appropriately(pirate ship painting on the wall?), the prices reasonable for a sit-down place. Five stars. Eat here.
