As a person from out of town, I felt like«No Partners» was my home town bar, the bar tenders are awesome, humbling, and truly care about their customers. From the outside it seems like a quick start bar but once your inside you’ll want to spend the rest of your night there. Good Music, Great drinks, The best service, and a MUSTSTAY if you like Billiards.

I am not going to beat this place up but they used to have two really good bartenders who both left over the holidays. They really cultivated a nice crowd. Now, the crowd seems a bit seedy and even ghetto sometimes. It’s one of the only places around here to get a drink so that sucks. I miss Jack and Eric already…

Good neighborhood bar. Looks a little rough on the outside but cheap beer and good bar food on the inside.

Definitely a dive bar with plenty of tvs, $ 1 pool, and a snarky(but friendly!) bartender to boot. $ 5 well drinks and the place is empty at 11pm on a Saturday night but from what the bartender said, seems like people like it as a last stop out on warm nights but when winter comes, it tends to be people’s first and only stop of the night. Don’t come here for anything fancy. 4 stars for a quiet neighborhood dive bar that doesn’t try to be anything else.

The last neighborhood bar in Astoria. Hope it doesn’t fall flash to the pretense that is hipsterville…

This is the kind of bar that will put up the St. Paddy’s day decorations right next to the christmas tree that hasn’t yet been taken down. If you think that’s a good thing, this is a great neighborhood bar! The pool table is never busy either, and it’s still only $ 1.00US!

A neighborhood bar that suddenly decides to serve great grub too? Yes please! At times I walked past No Partners, never thinking that it would be a destination, until they posted a «Kitchen Now Open» sign on their front door. Hmm… I almost don’t want to share this hideaway because it has everything I enjoy about a comfortable, laid back dinner experience. Meaning that it’s easy to find street parking nearby. It’s definitely not pretentious. Jack, the bartender, is extremely attentive in explaining the place’s new endeavor of offering a pretty straight forward menu. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Platter with a side salad as an option. The BF had a bowl of their daily soup that he proclaimed to be «the best»! With a multitude of TVs, video games, and a «Trivia Night», this place has the potential to be my «Cheers”-like haunt.

Cheap. Down to Earth. Off the beaten path a bit. Wish it was here was lived here ten years ago. Beer and shot special. TV’s. The Oak Room it’s not. But I like.

So I knew of No Partners for some time since the laundry mat I go to is right next to it and I live close by. I always wanted to check it out but never seemed to get enough motivation to head into the bar. Well, I wish I did sooner. They place is a great local spot. They spruced up the outside of the bar which makes it so much more welcoming and provided the specials outside. You can’t go wrong with five bucks for a draft beer and a shot or some other specials they have. The bar in general is pretty laid back and empty but I did go on a Monday night with a friend while doing laundry. Though I only meant to stay for the duration of my laundry, I wound up staying for almost four hours and meeting some great local characters as well as an awesome bar tender. She let me know that they are probably opening a kitchen soon in this bar which would make this off the beaten path sports/dive bar ever better! They pretty much have everything you can look for in a relaxed, chill bar. A pool table in the back; jukebox; at least seven TV’s; and three arcade games across the bar. This place is defiantly going to be my new home away from home now and is worth an extra five minute walk off the last stop in the N and Q.

I come here when i get out of work, and its a little off the beaten path, but that’s the way i like it, there’s always a place to sit, a ton of TVs in the joint, friendly staff(I’ve seen a few bartenders) and the drinks are cheap as they come. if you’re looking to go in, have a few pops and watch a game without people bumping in to you ever time they order a drink, then i def recommend this place. it doesn’t look like much, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Damn, only one review of No Partners since 2007? Perfect spot if you need to get a drink in the middle of doing laundry, I don’t because I drive… but I’m just saying. This is the hidden spot for watching football in Astoria on Sundays and actually having a place to sit down, they have Direct TV showing all the games on multiple sets and Frank the bartender will put on whatever game that you want. There is no food served here, but you can have food delivered here as they have a ton of menus. Drinks are on the cheap and they have a pool table in the back with a couch to lounge on.

OKOK so I admit we were desperate. We got here and just needed a quick beer. Little did we know we were in for much more. The Heineken was cool. I hate paying for drinks in general but the prices are reasonable. It was a mixed crowd of about 15 locals including ourselves on a Friday night. Considering we were the youngest people present it was easy to draw attention to ourselves. Myself being the extrover of the group had no problem socializing and introducing my roommates to our neighbor Todd the fireman. We witnessed a heated argument between two drunk 75 year old men. And we met Eva who clearly loved(almost) everyone and made it known. She obsessed over how beautiful I was and went into a story of her rough day, without any prodding from us. Then she continued on with singing my praises and letting it be known that she loved Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln. I think the exact words were, «And Abraham Lincoln … that is my MAN!» Eva is about 49 white and drunk as all hell. I nearly died. Then some other chick nearly died because she pissed off my girl Eva. There was a barfight, Eva won, and the girl was put out. Glad I was on Eva’s good side, I decided everyone needed a little chill music. So I wander over to the jukebox that is just awesome. It’s one of those internet ones where you can get basically any song you want. As I was making my selections, I met Paulie who thought I was the cat’s meow as the jukebox continued to play. He thought every song that came on was my choice(this included some Ice Cube and Nirvana that I did not choose). He kept eyeing me and telling me he was going to let me hear some good music. Paulie even gave me his number so we could«go listen to music sometime.» The experience was frightening, exhilirating, and hilarious all at the same time. If you’re there on the right kind of night, it’s easy to have a story to tell the next day.
