Came here on a suggestion to celebrate after signing my first lease a few blocks away. I got the Astoria Burger, my dad got the same, and my mom got a cheeseburger. All three were cooked perfectly to our specifications(bonus points for the fact that they supply their beef from the butcher next door) and delicious. Service was a little slow, but it was a Friday night. Not too crowded, but full. We got a couple of beers, also good, interesting brews we enjoyed. Pricing is about what I would expect for the area, a little higher than I’m used to in the suburbs. I’ll definitely be back to Oliver’s. Welcome to the neighborhood, me!

Came for dinner and ordered the beef and cheese empanadas and the kale dumplings to start. Both were delicious and the kale dumplings were something I had never seen on a menu. For my entrée I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The fries were also on point. I also ordered a hot cider drink with rum in it which was interesting and tasted great

We celebrated my husband’s birthday there last night! Party of 10. The waitress who attended to us was super professional, funny and awesome. I hope a manager is reading this post because this was the best service ever !!

I booked this place for a birthday brunch and the food and drinks were great! The service was good too. I love Astoria and how there are great restaurants everywhere. My group did not have any complaints at all.

This place is really nice and has a great vibe. It has a decent size selection of beer. I got the Crispy kale dumplings and cheesesteak empanadas for appetizer. I was skeptical about the kale dumplings because I’ve never seen that before but was definitely worth it. so good. The cheesesteak empanadas were great too. The Astoria burger was cooked perfectly and had tremendous taste. This place is great I’ll definitely be coming back to try their brunch.

Great place for brunch and 10% off bill with a Unilocal check-in! No reservations needed either. They have outdoor seating, which looked like a few opted for… in the middle of December. Global warming is scary. Indoors they have a few long high-top tables with stools. The tables don’t have hooks underneath for your bags, so would rather have sat at the regular tables. I ordered the Egg in a Hole Monte Cristo. Delicious. You get ham and swiss sandwiched between two pieces of french toast The eggs were sunny side up and served in the center of the top piece of french toast. I thought the syrup would be weird with the egg, ham, and swiss, but the sweet and savory worked really well. You get a choice between a side of mixed greens or fries. Go for the fries obviously. I also tried the Chicken & Waffles someone else ordered. I didn’t like it as much as the Monte Cristo. The chicken was dry and the leige waffle wasn’t really a leige waffle. The texture was crumbly and dry instead of more doughy. If you’re hungry get the Carnivore. I saw someone order this and oh man so much meat and potatoes. Probably wouldn’t need to eat for the rest of the day after eating that. They had a bunch of TV’s with different sports playing and a large bar. Definitely a gastropub since the food is actually really good. Definitely want to come back for their regular food. .

Came here with a few friends for a hangover brunch. We made a reservation but didn’t need it on a Sunday. WE were seated right away and the staff was very courteous. There is outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. We got a long table inside that was near the doors so we could be warm but still feel the sun. It was pretty nice. The food here was incredible. I got the carnivore, and for the first time in a long time I was not able to finish my food. It was huge. The perfect amount of meat and carbs to sop up that alcohol. It was delicious. For $ 15 you can’t beat it. I had a bloody mary with mine, and it was quite strong. I tried my friend’s though, and it was regular so maybe I just got lucky. Either way, bloody mary’s and mimosas are $ 4 with your brunch entrée. TVs with football were all around so you don’t have to worry about that. People definitely were geared up to hang out and watch the game for the day there. They had a decent selection of craft beers as well. Definitely would return. Awesome place.

I came here on a date for a late brunch at 2 pm on a Saturday. There was a hustle and bustle going about — but it wasn’t too noisy or too crowded. We were able to be seated and order quickly. I ordered the Carnivore which is a ton of very hearty food all on one plate being Scrambled Eggs, Home fried potatos, sausage, bacon and grits and gravy. It’s a pretty classic combo and all worked together being breakfast food. My date had the chicken and waffles with syrup on the side. It came out tasty and good — but there are better chicken and waffles out there in the world. We didn’t order drinks and sat for a while chit chatting about life and what not and this place is good with that. I didn’t feel rushed at all and it was good.

I’ve been here a few times and the service is always friendly but it’s always been an «eh» experience. Most recently, I had the veggie wrap which is actually in a flour tortilla that you use for a quesadilla or burrito. The«wrap» came with hummus, vegetables, spinach, tomatoes and it tasted fine and fresh but there was so little of it. The«wrap» was definitely more flour tortilla than anything. The black bean burger is just OK and the truffle fries don’t have much truffle on them. I’ve come here for trivia and the guy who does it is very nice and friendly but the space and atmosphere isn’t the greatest for it(music blasting the entire time when the guy is reading the questions, tight squeeze in between tables to get to the back of the room to drop off your answer sheet). In general, I’m not a fan of the décor. It looks like it wants to be a nice space with wood paneling, cool light fixtures but then there’s cheesy tchotchkes on the wall and a sports bar vibe to it too.

Based on Thanksgiving dinner alone labeled as «Fridge to Table Turkey Dinner» with roasted turkey breasts, turkey gravy, mashed sweet potatoes and creamed kale. The turkey: moist soft tender juicy… even when I left it on the plate a touch too long… simply marvelous Ben(the chef). Mashed sweet potatoes: Surprise! While delicious, there is a marshmallow topping which is an unexpected surprise! Creamed Kale: Superb! Melts in your bloody mouth! Turkey gravy: simply tasty!

Great food and drink selection. This is a good go-to for a date night or a friends night out. Pretty much any menu item is solid here, including the burgers and the mac and cheese. The ambiance is really nice, too. Try and snag a table against the wall if you can, as you can feel a little in the way when sitting at a high top. Lastly, the wait staff and bartenders are all fairly knowledgeable, which always helps, because they can make recommendations based on your food and drink preferences.

Stopped in for brunch with my family on a Saturday morning. They had great guitar player singing and playing great music, I really enjoyed the selection. I went with a Bloody Mary and the crab Benedict and everything was delicious! I like that they have a nice kids menu for my picky three year old, she had a huge serving of pasta that doubles as lunch for the next day! I love the look of the space and will definitely be stopping in for some of the happy hour specials I saw advertised. I believe they have a party room downstairs as well.

Came here on a Thursday night for happy hour and dinner with a friend. We requested to be seated in the outside area so we could enjoy the last of the beautiful fall weather. When we looked at the happy hour menu we were disappointed to see that they only had two wine specials, but it was okay because the wine turned out to be delicious. I ordered the chicken cesar salad and my friend ordered the meatballs. Both portions were huge, enough to satisfy you for dinner and still have some to take home. The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was great for a quiet, relaxing Thursday evening. The only downside is that the service could have been a little bit quicker. We had to wait longer than we wanted for our order to be taken, food to be brought out, and check to be delivered. Overall it was a good experience and I would definitely bring friends here!

The four stars are all for the truffle fries. Truffle fries, truffle fries, truffle fries. Truffle. Fries. That’s my whole review. But seriously, those fries are so good— if you like truffles. If you’re like the Bf and aren’t a huge fan, the smell alone might turn you off everything on your table. The truffles were really strong, and maybe too overpowering for some people. To me, there is a good way to be overpowering and a bad. In this case, it was so, so, so, so, so, SO good. I also had the fish tacos, which were actually quite good and tasted nice and fresh, but I couldn’t even finish it because I was still stuck on those TRUFFLEFRIES. Ok, now I feel like I’m building it up, and you are going to go, and it will be a huge disappointment. So don’t go, and don’t have the truffle fries. Truffle fries!!!(We had a large meal with soup and entrees, but I only really remember the truffles fries. Which I brought to work the next day and proceeded to make all my coworkers jealous with. Because the truffle fries happened to reheat well.) The ambience is nice, and they have a space downstairs which we didn’t have the chance to visit even though there was a free comedy show going on. They have several large and small tv’s with all possible sports events playing at the same time. They have a good selection of beers. It’s definitely a place I can see myself becoming a regular to, because it’s just very casual and welcoming. I’d love to come back and try more of their menu(truffle fries).

I made a reservation last night because my date was craving for Huevos Rancheros and the reviews look amazing. The hostess was about to seat me and my date at a table with an outlet so not cute but I choose my own table. Brunch Menu: Huevos Rancheros… minus the black beans as seen in other ones… they got balls says my date along w/Bloody Mary(2) The Carnivore… mama like as I popped my grits cherry at Olivers Astoria lol along w/Mimosa — a bit too much orange pulp… two tables down from me asked how I like my dish and I answered«Hell Yeah» it was so delicious Overall amazing delicious brunch food and can’t wait to come back for more!

This place is super cute. Industrial décor, wonderful beer selection, and solid food. I’ve been here for brunch and dinner; both meals were terrific. The chicken and waffles are to die for. Servers are friendly and helpful. Like Astoria, this gastropub has a chill, unpretentious vibe.

Mussels in pilsner with garlic and herbs($ 16?) — This was a huge dish, definitely for sharing or eaten as a meal. The mussels were on the small side, but maybe it was not in season but they did give about 30 of it in the dish. Although I still prefer the white wine sauce, the pilsner gave it a unique taste that went well with the mussels. Drunken shrimp tacos($ 18) — It comes with 3 soft shell tacos. Each taco had about 2 – 3 large fried shrimps. The shrimp itself needed a little bit more spicing(salt, pepper maybe). However when eaten all together with the sauce, guacamole and pica de gallo it was pretty good. The only down side about this dish were the plantains. They were in the middle of sweet and savory, they were also cut a little too thick and also a little soggy. Despite the fact that we sat outside, the service was superb! The waitress made frequent check-ins. In fact, I left my credit card on the table and she walked across the street to return it to me. We will definitely be returning!

I’ll start off by saying this was seriously EGG-CELLANT! Had a late Sunday brunch at Oliver’s. Pretty mellow atmosphere, not very crowded. Indoor/outdoor seating. All of the wait staff were pleasant and very nice. Split the crab cake benedict/the herbivore with my boyfriend. Meal was everything I could have asked for and more. Crab cakes were really fresh, nothing bad to say here :) Now the Herbivore was out of this world. I make weird concoctions with my food sometimes when home. this had that same kind of feel. A bunch of veggies thrown in with eggs and cheesey grits. It had such a creamy delicious flavor. A friend who got a burger smeared their fries in my egg-celant meal. $ 4 bloodys(SPICY!) or mimosas. Strong too. Drinks on point!

Oliver’s was a part of our initially hesitant foray into the world of Astoria hangouts. We’re not often in this area but we found ourselves at the doorstep of this gastropub tonight at the suggestion of some friends who live nearby. On a Friday night, the place was just busy enough to make positive suggestions about the quality of food and drink, yet not so crowded that we’d have to wait for a table for our party of four. Already, this was a good sign to me. We were seated at a table with high seats, smack in the middle of an acceptably bustling atmosphere — lively, but not so crazy that we would all have to shout at each other across the table. I was just a little sad when we’d sat down to our drink menus at around 7, figuring that on a Friday night, no sane establishment would still keep happy hour, but I was happy to discover that Oliver’s allow their customers to order from drink specials until 8 pm. Half price cocktails, wines, and cheap beers make the hour truly happy. I ordered the pomegranate mojito, which was sweet yet strong enough to take the edge off the long week(so good that I was prompted to order another at 7:58, right before the end of happy hour), while two of my drink mates took a chance on the jalapeño ginger mojito. I had a taste and was pleasantly surprised — I’m not a fan of neither ginger nor spice in my drinks, but this was a nice kick in the back of the throat that was interesting enough to keep you coming back to the straw. My fiancé and I both ordered the southwestern bean burger with fries, which were smoky and tasty, if a little messy to eat because beans are notoriously crumbly as a protein and will tend to fall apart on you. The burger here, while on point with our palates, were no exception as we ended up with bean pieces and chipotle aioli sauce all over ourselves with every bite. He got regular fries with his meal while I opted for the truffle fries for an additional dollar. I was just a little disappointed that these fries were lukewarm and already well on their way to sogginess by the time they got to me, though the trademark muskiness of the truffle shavings were certainly a slight saving grace. It didn’t keep me from finishing off every single one, but from a meal that tipped the scale at nearly 14 or 15 bucks, I expected a little more. Our group stayed here for at least two hours, chatting and picking at the leftovers bits on our plates and it never got super crowded, nor did we ever feel pressured by servers to vacate the seats. It was a cool environment and a great place to hang out for drinks on a Friday night, though certainly not the best bang for your buck when it comes to food.

I understand that today is New Years Eve. Bars, restaurants, clubs, etc. are all getting ready for a money making night. I realize that many of the daily weekly specials will be suspended. I know that you have to hit the hammer hard when the opportunity strikes. BUT to suspend your 241 Special on Sierra Nevada at 5PM. Com’on man. BOGUS. BULL. HOGWASH. Oh yeah, all those four letter words my mommy won’t let me use. Did you suspend your happy hour? Are you raising your prices for the night? This consumer is not happy. I don’t expect the deal at midnight on NYE, but run your deal to a reasonable time 7 or 8PM. Maybe offer one. Something. Throw me a bone. The bartender was very polite and apologetic which made the blow of missing the 241 deal on tasting a delicious Sierra Nevada semi OK. Don’t know if I will come back. I enjoy your weekly specials, but today I miss my 241 Sierra Nevada. BUMMER…
