Finally! I have been searching for a hair salon in Astoria that combines great service with a color/​cut that leaves me happy rather than in tears (yes, this has happened). After being burned the last few times by poor Groupon experiences, I turned to Unilocal for assistance. I called and was able to get an appointment the next day with Roni, the owner. He listened to exactly what I wanted in my color and cut and we picked out where to go from there together. The ambiance is bright and relaxing, the decorator there has taken great care to make it feel light and airy inside. Roni is not extremely talkative, but you can tell how focused he is on his work and providing a professional, enjoyable experience. He was so sweet and 100% focused on me throughout the experience despite having several walk-​in customers stop by.
I have gotten a bunch of compliments since then on my color and cut, I am happy to report. I will happily come back next time I need a touch up!

Ronnie gave me a gorgeous layered cut that is voluminous and bouncy. He is very thorough and listens to what you want. I love that this salon is relaxing and quiet, a hidden getaway in my neighborhood.

Roni is by far the best stylist I have ever had. I mostly see women in the shop, so I was a little hesitant to go in for a men’s cut, but I am very happy I did. Roni listens, does exactly what I want, and is very consistent. I have never had a bad cut, and all of his recommendations have turned out great.
I have tried many other stylists in Astoria and Manhattan, including much more expensive ones, but Roni is by far my favorite. Others tended to take too much off when I explicitly asked them not to, and have been very inconsistent.
My girlfriend was so impressed with my hair that she started coming to Reve Studio from Manhattan for her hair. We both cannot recommend Roni highly enough.

Not sure what others were saying about the highlights. I got the best highlight job ever at this salon. I had outgrown highlights, 6 months plus old, and he blended new ones in so beautifully and used a toner. The color came out absolutely perfect and natural looking, exactly what I asked for but better! The cut was great and the blow dry highly skilled. I’m hooked.

Roni was great as a stylist and super nice to talk to while getting my haircut! He did a great job restyling my hair and getting layers and angles back in so it didn’t all lay flat. Studio itself was clean and overall had a great experience. Will definitely be going back for my next haircut.

I hate to say this because the owner was so sweet and nice, Ronnie, but I got some pretty skunk like highlights there. I showed pictures of beautiful blended highlights that blend into the root and that’s not what I got. Although the price was the more competitive (like half price) than the Redken salon and the Aveda salon you do not get the same quality. I ended up walking straight to Redken Saloon and getting my highlights blended with low lights at the root. I had a stylist and two assistants squeeze me in and they said I had a couple dots in the back of my head that looked like bald spots, which means he dripped bleach in a few spots and didn’t notice.
Everyone who was there to get a cut seemed super happy and it was quick. That’s why I gave two stars. But don’t go for highlights.

I finally got the bangs I wanted! After my usual stylist left New York, I had tried other hair salons around my neighborhood. Unfortunately, no one really took the time to listen or clarify what I wanted– leading to a couple bad fringes that I’d hide in shame. Today I took the chance with Roni at REVE and I absolutely love what he’s done. After I showed him a picture and told him briefly what I was looking for, he asked a couple of questions concerning the details of how I’d like to part my hair, what I’d like to have done with my long layers, etc. I appreciate his attention and focus to even the little things that ultimately make up a great haircut. Definitely call and make an appointment, you won’t be disappointed!

A good stylist is hard to find. A great stylist is near impossible to find. Roni is an amazing stylist, a down to earth dude, and all around great guy. I usually walk in looking like Donald Trump just got out of a wind tunnel, and leave looking (feeling) like that damn Ryan Gosling in Crazy Stupid Love.
I always call ahead and he is always on time. This ain’t supercuts — but it is damn affordable! And I appreciate that. An amazing value for such good/​honest service. If you don’t feel like bothering those pretentious a-​holes at Gigi Salon and wasting their precious time, do yourself a favor and go to Reve.

After 3 years of living in NYC, Sabah is the only person I have found who can cut my hair correctly for the right price! Beautiful salon in a convenient location. I’ve been back twice and will definitely return again.

Loved it! I came in wanting to radically change up my hair — went from a shoulder-​length asymmetrical cut to an undercut with a pompadour on top. After I showed Sabah some photos and assured her that I really wanted to go for it, she gave me exactly what I wanted. She was very friendly (but not in an overly talkative way) and professional. She took her time to figure out the cut, explained to me what she was doing, and referred to the photos to ensure that she gave me exactly what I was looking for. She styled it great and explained exactly what I should do to get the style at home. It was the first time in a long time that I left a hair salon feeling that I had the perfect haircut. And it was incredibly affordable — just $ 45 for a cut, shampoo and blowdry! Highly recommended!

I love this place. I love the atmosphere of the salon once you walk in. I love the staff and their friendliness.

I went in for a haircut with Roni and was super impressed. Not only did I LOVE what he did with my hair, he was a pleasure to talk to. The prices are about half what I pay in Manhattan and we spent a good amount of time figuring out exactly how he’d approach the haircut, which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend him without reservation!

Sabah is a talented, beautiful hair stylist, and I am so glad I found her. She is friendly, genuine, honest, and professional. I loved everything about my cut, color, and styling.

Im very picky with my hair and I tried some hair salons through Astoria with average experiences! Sabah did my hair (dye hair and blow dry). I went there with almost three different blonde shades in my hair and she fixed it. She was nice, she gave me some recommendations about maintain my hair color and she did an excellent job for a very good price! I would definitely recommend the salon and it’s my new spot!

Got my hair cut and blowout by Ronnie. This place is chic, clean and the stylists are not pushy; instead they provide you with great information an advice. I would definitely come back for my next hair procedure!

Not bad, but not great. I find it very strange that shampoo and blow-​dry are not included in the price. Were they really going to let me walk out of there with wet hair in January?
Nice décor, the haircut I got itself was just fine, but the woman who cut my hair was not very polite. I think I’ll keep looking for my «regular» place.

My mother and I have been going to Roni (owner) for my color and our cuts since i was in early high school and im 23 now. I will literally not let anyone touch my hair unless it his him. He has never failed me when it comes to color. He is a hair genius. Even if you dont know exactly what kind of style you want, he will leave you looking amazing and his prices are right! The service is always professional and never rushed! My brother even joins us now too to get his hair cut with Roni… btw did I mention we travel from Manhattan? We have been with Roni before be opened up this salon and most likely will follow him wherever he goes! Love you Roni, and love you Reve!

I’ve followed him through different locations that he worked at and was thrilled when he decided to open his own salon. Color and cut for a new look? He has never given me a cut or color that didn’t get a compliment. Sure there are per bigger, flashier, and «hip» establishments around Astoria and Manhattan per se, but for the price and quality of work you’ll never go wrong with Roni. The only time that I’ve strayed was when I was given a gift certificated for a high end well-​known salon in the city. Used it and hated it, after a week I went back to Roni and have my hair repaired.
Best recommendation that I can give? Roni has been doing my hair for a decade! Isn’t that enough?
