Legitimately my favorite pizza spot in Astoria. Super quick delivery and I live 20 – 30 blocks away.

Their broccoli w/chicken and extra cheese is so damn good. The chicken is breaded and the broccoli is so fresh. We decided to get sauce on the side with it… the best choice ever! Delivery time under 30mins on a late night Sunday. The price was OK but ordering online is always going to be a little bit more expensive. The crust was well done. We will get pizza from them again. The are our second favorite pizza place. sLICe is more our go to spot. But really great job guys.

I will never order from this restaurant again! I ordered on grubhub and called twice to confirm that my order was received and on its way. 2 hours later, after the place is closed they claim they never received my order even though I had spoken to them twice previously. The person I spoke with was extremely rude and told me that it was not his problem. I will never again waste my time on this establishment!

Why do people hate this place. Their speciality pizzas are amazing and their penne a la vodka isn’t so bad. Broccoli rabe is always a good choice too.

Pretty damn terrible pizza is Vidali’s in a nutshell. As you can see from my pictures, it looks like a normal pizza with a lot of promise. Plenty of toppings and aesthetically pleasing. The delivery guy even got it to me in under an hour and it was still piping hot. Above, are the only reasons I even gave them two stars. The biggest fail here was the crust. I don’t care what anyone else says about what makes a good pizza. To me, any decent pizza MUST have great crust. Vidali’s was teeth shattering rock hard and lacked any airiness or flavor to it. I mean it wasn’t even burnt, at all, and yet I might as well have been eating a cinder block. The one theory I have is, they probably took a stale cheese pizza and then reheated it with new shredded mozzarella to hold down the green peppers, olives, pepperoni and sausage I custom ordered. Side note, the green peppers should have been chopped way the heck smaller. Seriously, why in the world would you think placing 3 – 4 inch long slices of peppers on a small pizza made sense. Complete lack of attention to detail and more so a sign of complete laziness. Safe to say I will never trust reviews and should have stuck with Unilocal in making my decision.

Garbage pizza, nothing special at all. Greazy, flavorless and sad is all I can say… I’m not Italian but if you want to make Italian food(specifically Pizza) learn how to do it right. This spot is trash and you should move on as soon as you can.

ALLWRONG! I ordered spaghetti, they gave me penne. It’s supposed to be an Italian Restaurant so they should be able to tell the difference, you would think?! Then it took a whole hour to receive my delivery, not 35-minutes, like their e-mail said. Just opt to starve or eat somewhere else because they’ll give you whatever THEY want anyways! The food was bland and minimal. Save your $$! BIG disappointment.

These people had me wait almost an hour and a half for the delivery I called the first time he said it was on the way and should be here in 5 – 10 mins 20 mins later I call back and then he tells me they never received my order that I places online and I can just cancel it no apology or anything. This is why these dumb ass people never amount to anything I’ll never order from the again

We love Vidali’s. Our deliveries have always been on time, and pizza is always hot. One time we were on our way back from upstate NY. We stopped at a traffic light and I saw the sign Vidali’s. I was like ‘Hmm this name sounds familiar.’ It took me a while to realize it is the place we get our pizza delivered! So we decided to stop by for slices and the staff was very friendly. It is not a restaurant though. I don’t remember seating. I think it is best for to-go orders and deliveries. My personal favorite from Vidali’s is Chicken Marsala pizza. I have also tried a few veggie options. Among them Greek Pizza was really good.

Pizza was meh, not amazing, but not bad either. Good enough for a 3AM craving, but more importantly, delivery is super quick and they have a fairly wide zone, including up to Roosevelt Island.

Ordered off . 45 minutes later called to make sure everything was ok. «We should be there in 10 minutes, my guys already left». Ok. Called back almost a half hour later. «Oh, that’s so weird, all my guys came back. Uh… maybe we never got the order». Got an apology, but what I really wanted was a pizza. No thanks, I wont be attempting this again.

«Drunk or hungover? Vidali’s got you covered» This is a delivery review. This pizzeria is your standard type place as the pizza is edible and the menu is full of interesting and greasy food, which is perfect for absorbing booze. Aside from the typical plain New York slice, I highly recommend the Cordon Blue, Four Seasons and Chilitos pizzas. The delivery is hit or miss, which probably depends on how busy the restaurant at that time of day or night. Sometimes it is really fast and or times I had to call the restaurant, which is annoying when you an drunk AND hungry. The one thing that I do not like about this place is they charge extra(50 cents +) for all menu items after a certain hour. I can kind of understand this practice for certain restaurants when customers order French Toast at 2pm but it seems a little weird for a pizzeria to do this.

I live right around the corner from Vidali’s, and it is pretty damned good for a slice. It’s not cheesy Jesus or anything, but it gets the job done. They have no clue how to do delivery, though. The last time I ordered pizza, I actually ordered from Papa John’s– treasonous in NYC, right?– because the very good place around the corner(Vidali’s) couldn’t get my pizza 350 feet away from its origin point before it got disgustingly cold. Oh, and you know how some pizza tastes better as leftovers? Yeah, not this stuff.

On time delivery. Excellent, crispy, crust. The pineapple/ham combo was tasty, and then amped up by the anchovies. Veg on the pizza was extremely fresh, crunchy and more than enuf! Highly recommended.

Pretty terrible. Took over an hour and a half to deliver and came soggy and tasteless. The sausage and peppers were covered in oil. Gross.

It’s probably safe to say that Vidali’s has seen better days, the pizza game(and just about everything else) in Astoria is a non-stop battle for pizzerias jockeying for the limelight. Where Vidali has stood out from the pack is by situating itself into the east side of the hood and being open late. Even in a place where foot traffic is light and subways are a bit of a hike, most people will still go anywhere for good pizza(#1). Though I’d be hard pressed to put Vidali’s in that category. That said, the pizza is good. Surprisingly good. There is an adequate distribution of cheese, sauce, and a quality crust. The ones to get for me are the Meat Lover’s($ 12 – 19), White Spinach($ 11 – 18), and the Black and White($ 12 – 21). Heartier appetites should consider the stuffed pizzas, which also includes a Gluten Free Cheese specialty. Sicilian is also a worthy contender. The thing with being farther away from the subway means it’s all about the delivery. Vidali’s has virtually no ambiance for in house dining and being subject to their location means they cast a wide net for delivery distance. They’ll go beyond Astoria and easily hit up LIC, Sunnyside, and maybe Woodside. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jackson Heights was an option. It’s a catch 22, as it also creates some varied opinion. Sometimes the pies will look badly misshapen and unappetizing. More often than not, the food ends up being cold and the delivery guys get cranky looking for more tips to justify the distance. Unless they have a robust lineup of 10 delivery guys all going at the same time, one would likely get more presentable, temperature appropriate pizza, and less attitude if you’re less than a mile away. Anything beyond that, your mileage will definitely vary. _____________ (#1) See Brooklyn.

We had 2 small pies one with ravioli with a vodka sauce. The second had a sausage topping. The pies were yummy with a different crust. It was thin and cooked well. The use corn meal under the crust so the pie slips odd the board nicely and use a metal screen. I liked the crust. There is zero atmosphere, it’s a pizza joint in a crappy a area.

I LOATHED the pizza place that occupied this space a few months ago as much as I enjoy Vidali’s now. In fact, I purposely avoided Vidali’s because I suspected the old place, because they sucked so very horribly and openly(and were rightfully destroyed by Unilocalers as a result) had re-opened under a new name to escape the dismal reviews and subsequent lack of business. And while it was surreal to go to bed one night a block from«Sh*t Tosser’s Thoroughly Inedible Pizza-like Substance» and wake up to «Vidali’s», I have to admit I did myself a disservice by being so paranoid.(In my own defense, the previous joint was so bad I wanted to invent a time machine to unorder and uneat their product… then train a pony to bite off the owner’s weiner.) In any case, the pizza here is delicious. The specialty pies are unique with good balance and flavor, fresh toppings and a uniquely textured crust that remains crispy– likely due to the fact that the pizza is not bathed in grease. I crushed a large Lalito’s pie with plum tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, garlic and parmigiano… and I would do it again, sir. The salads are also quite good-and I was able to pack in a Caprice salad with fresh Mozzarella on top of it all. BEST. MEATBALL. IN. ASTORIA. If you disagree I’ll call you a dirty tramp. All in all, I am pleased my neighborhood pizza place is no longer a crime against humanity. I like you Vidali’s, and hope you never up and disappear in the night.
