Being a loyal Marriott member we selected this hotel on our journey down to Florida. Coming in at the late afternoon hour we were greeted by a friendly hotel clerk. The room appeared clean and nicely set up. My husband mentioned the bed seemed soft and I dismissed it(now I wish I hadn’t) and we went to dinner. When we returned we were both whipped and went to sleep immediately. Needless to say, I woke up about an hour later with an aching back. The mattress was way too soft and sagged in the middle. I couldn’t stay in the bed and the only alternative was the desk chair which I spent most of the night in. This was not a restful night and our stay was not enjoyable. I was amazed that a Marriott would have such a bad mattress on their bed since they are known for their bedding which I am usually a big fan of. When I told the hotel clerk in the morning of the problems with the mattress she didn’t seem too concerned. All I can say, If you stay here, check the firmness of the mattress before committing to the room. I wish I had.

Couldn’t sleep all night due to the noise from pipes or whatever. Tick tick tick all night. The room is clean and the bed was firm. Service was fine. Just don’t get a room near a pipe.

Very nice new hotel in Athens. I was impressed. Entire hotel is updated and modern. You can tell someone put good thought into what you need in a room. The desk space was perfect for a little work, WiFi was fast(you can upgrade and pay for faster). Beds were super comfy, and I am pretty picky about a comfortable bed. Large bathroom as well. We were in the handicap accessible room so that could be why. You could easily do a long stay here. Breakfast was great!
