Teriyaki 101

I agree with Jen O below. didn’t expect much from a strip center teriyaki place. but it is good, relatively inexpensive, and very quick. would definitely come here again.

This is a great little spot for a quick lunch and run… I like the fact that I can watch them make my food (assemble it, at least). I get to dictate how much or little of something I want.
Overall, it runs about $ 7 – 8 for food and a drink, so not bad at all. Easy and fast without being fast food.
It’s nothing to write home about, but simple and easy food. :-)

Not a fan. Tried 3 times. all 3 times had diarrhea afterwards. Terrible quality food + food that sits out under a heat lamp all day= not somewhere id go again. First 2 times I was drunk and thought maybe that had something to do with it. But Negitive, just go to a real Japanese place it’s pretty much same price for much better cooked in front of you

First time here — excellent food, great atmosphere, courteous employees! If you like Barberitos or Chipotle, you’ll LOVE Teriyaki 101 — oh! Did I mention you get a lot of food for a great price, and if you’re not looking for a bowl, there are other options on the menu?

Like another reviewer below, I also expected a choo choo or inoko knock off. But it’s not, and that makes me happy.
Large portions, many tasty dipping sauces, and excellent wings. Maybe my favorite in Athens now. Hush puppies were bland and too greasy.
Only issue: they close at 9pm on weekdays. That’s still dinner time!

Friendly staff. Clean place. My first time here and I had a good experience. I ordered the teriyaki chicken rice bowl. You pick your protein and veggies. $ 5.99 for a bowl is an awesome price! They have toppings like grilled onions, mushrooms, lettuce, cheese, corn, jalapeños, etc… I only wish they had more «Asian» toppings, the only one being the pickled radish (which is delicious).
The place reminds me of a Chipotle or Subway in a sense where you can pick your own fresh toppings. Will definitely be coming back!

I thought this place would be a little more like Choo Choo or Inoko express, and maybe that’s why I was disappointed because that’s not at all what it was. Or maybe it’s because when I walked and saw the spread of food and topping options like cheese, corn, and tomatoes that I could customize a teriyaki bowl with and then offered a try of the meat, I was reminded of the Asian restaurants in the mall strangely combined with a Barberitos.
Regardless, I gave it a shot. I ordered the teriyaki bowl with teriyaki chicken, veggies, lettuce, mushrooms, and yum yum sauce. Of course, I squeezed some sriracha on it because what’s fried rice without some sriracha? It was okay — maybe good. But I don’t think I’ll be craving it anytime soon if ever.
My husband got the fried rice, and that came in a portion large enough for a whole family. It was hot and it tasted really good. It had plenty of vegetables, which was nice. He mixed it with a little bit of yum yum sauce and it was good.
The staff is really friendly and helpful! So friendly, in fact, that I feel bad giving it only 3 stars. So I guess I’ll check it out again and re-​evaluate at some point.
I will go back because I love wings, and I plan to try theirs. I’ll let all you fine people know how they are. But it is unusual that an Asian place serves chicken tenders and wings, but hey. why not, right?

My daughter asked if we could go to teriyaki 101 for lunch to try it. They sale wings so we got the 15 wings with rice and we found our favorite thing at this restaurant. We shared 8 teriyaki wings and 7 parmigiana garlic and a bunch of beef fried rice for only $ 13.00
