Arriving to 1Kept is a bit of a struggle as the entrance of the building is hidden and can’t be seen from the main road. You have to go down a ramp and into a parking lot to access the building. I was the first of my party to arrive and had to take 3 separate calls for the rest of my party because they simply could not find it. The hostess mentioned they have an inside joke at the restaurant that they should be called«1Kept secret» because no one knows where the restaurant is. Sadly, she was right. Even with that rocky start, I was not displeased… yet. The restaurant had a very nice ambience, the noise level was minimal, there was an open kitchen and the place was really well kept together. As I waited for the other two people in my party, the server, Nathan, stopped by the table and greeted me. He was very curt but still pleasant– I declined and said I’d wait for the rest of my party. I later decided to try a cocktail. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. It sat on the table while the ice melted. My party arrived about 10 mins later and Nathan came back to take out orders. He gave no info about the restaurant, didn’t give suggestions until we asked, and seemed very disengaged. He was more so an order taker than a server. Our food came out and it was okay at best. The mussels were not very seasoned and seemed a bit undercooked. One of my colleagues tried the red snapper and said it was nothing to brag about. Nathan glanced over at the table a few times and even did us the honor of clearing a few plates, but still very disengaged. After him not saying one word about the cocktail still sitting at the table full to the rim, I finally confessed to him that I didn’t like it. Instead of him immediately taking it away and bringing something different he asked«so do you want me to take it or would you just like to order something else?» Ummm… how about both?! Needless to say, I was not happy. If I had more space, I’d say more. In short: I won’t return.

1Kept is one of my favorite restaurants. The ambiance is very cool and since it’s a hidden spot it’s rarely loud and crazy. The food is excellent and they change the menu constantly. The cocktails are amazing — it’s a great place to sit and the bar and drink and have a flatbread as a snack. The servers have always been excellent. No complaints about this place, it’s my go to for a nice dinner when I don’t want to be seated on top of my neighbor like most restaurants.

The staff was very slow and our server was sitting at the bar on her Ipad while we waited for first beverages. The food is not worth the cost other than the desert menu. I am in the customer service business and hate to complain about anyone. However, I will not return and would have been better off to cook at home! The point of dining out is to enjoy good food without working. The atmosphere is nice and the music is good. I will not return…

This place is absolutely AWESOME! Every year, my fiancé and I have a birthday dinner where we gather about 20 of our closest friends(my fiancé and I have birthdays that are 1 day apart). Last year, the place we chose was good food but AWFUL service. 1Kept has wonderful service, delicious food and a great environment! They made our experience so memorable and it was a great success! Also, there is no issue with splitting checks, just let the waiter know before-hand. Everyone enjoyed their dish and many said they would also come back because of the food and service. We got the pimento cheese board, the popcorn(not your average popcorn) and the ribeye woth fries. The steak was so juicy and seasoned to perfection. I’m not a huge fry person, but the fries were also amazing! It you are looking for a great date night place or a place to father with friends for dinner and drinks, this is the perfect place. Thank you 1Kept for helping us to celebrate a successful birthday!!! :)

The food, atmosphere, and service was perfect. We ordered the cheese board(best pimento I’ve ever had), snapper, and duck. All recommendations from our server, and nothing disappointed. This was my first time here and I’ll definitely be back.

My party of 5 came here for New Years Eve dinner because we had all heard such great things about the restaurant. With the prices, décor, great service, fancy-ish food presentation, it certainly fit the profile… but the food was just not great. TOOMUCHSALT was the theme throughout all the dishes. Black Truffle Popcorn — delicious but a tad salty Mushroom flatbread — pretty good, no complaints Tagliatelle — delicious but salty Any fish — delicious but salty Braised Veal Meatballs — pretty good, no complaints Cocktails — all fabulous and strong. So it was fair but definitely not what we expected. I’d say come here for the bar though!

I was really disappointed with what I experienced here :(My sister had previously gone here and she brought back a little left over box with this amazing risotto and scallops… but that was a while back and I guess I came in the wrong season.(They change their menu for each season to use fresh and local ingredients.) The place was hard to find, especially now that it’s winter, looking out into the back of the buildings seemed so sketch and dark. But we followed the arrows hoping to not fall into the hole to Wonderland. It was super empty in there. Only a few tables, not even half were filled. To start off, we(4) ordered three appetizers: salmon crudo, pimento cheese board, and fried okra. Salmon crudo was interesting. Only I liked it however. Pimento cheese board was a hit. We enjoyed mixing all these different combinations with the different jams and mustards and pickled veggies. Fried okra was also pretty good though I didn’t eat much of it since my mouth was too sensitive after getting braces. It took the waiter forever to take our dinner orders. The usual gig is to place orders some time while we ate our appetizers. That didn’t happen. We finished with our apps and then a few minutes later after it was all cleared and we sat around did he come over and take our orders. The table next to us, who had arrived much later than us, had received their entrees already even having ordered appetizers, We were hungry T^T I ordered the Southern Risotto, though I asked if it was possible to have an entrée portion since I wanted soft foods. This was recommended by the waiter, and he recommended so wrong. The risotto was hard and grainy. Not the usual risotto, I guess I should’ve googled what farro risotto was… Now, it’s not too hard to swallow risotto, but it was hard to swallow the extremely sour taste that was in that risotto. Not sure if that’s what it was supposed to taste like… but looking at the ingredients they listed I didn’t expect where sour would be coming from in the following: asparagus, poached egg, duck jus, and glazed radish. Now I know… glazed radishes are not my friend. And also the other still firm vegetables within that made eating it a tart, fun-filled adventure for new braces owners. My boyfriend got the chicken and dumplings, and they brought him the low country boil instead. It looked ok but it wasn’t what he wanted. They brought him his right dish and it was really freaking good. I’m eternally grateful that he took my risotto and let me have his entrée. A friend got the eye of ribeye. The only good part she thought was the parmesan truffle fries. The steak was dry she thought. When the check came out, it still had the low country boil on there, and another friend’s dish wasn’t even on it. Though he had asked how we wanted it split, he still got it wrong. I was so sad with how the night turned out here :(I wish I could have received the 4 – 5 star experience that everyone here seems to be getting, but sadly we didn’t.

Dishes ordered: Warm kale salad, Flounder Ambience: Crazy dark, personally prefer places where I can see my food, but it did have a cozy feeling so it wasn’t too bad. More of a date place for sure. Food: Kale salad was a bit over dressed and acidic for my taste so it was a bit hard to finish it, but the house sausage was good. The flounder dish was great. The gnocchi, peas, veggies were buttery and rich yet so fresh. It was a really complete fish dish and I liked it a lot. I usually have a policy of eating everything on my plate and I actually felt sad when I finished the flounder dish. Still filling though.

So I think it’s important to start by saying that 1Kept is in a REALLY weird spot… We were dropped off my our Über and had to walk around the back of a building, down a weird drive way, up some stairs… Fellow Unilocalers have posted some helpful pics if you need a little guidance. But upon entering we were impressed by the warm and sleek décor. This is a great, intimate little date place. They also have a small bar that would be a great place to grab happy hour. Our server, James, was super chill and made good drink recommendations. In terms of our food experience, we were also pretty impressed. We shared a few appetizers as well as two entrees. We started with: Fried okra — because we were in the south, y’all. Two great dipping sauces and a HUGH place of okra. We could have stuck with just this as an app, because it was a ton of food. Would be a great bar snack while grabbing drinks. Veal meatballs with kimchi — yes to both of these things alone. In combination, it’s a win. Kale salad with chorizo sausage — if you never thought in your life to put sausage on a kale salad(that seems exactly like the kind of devilish idea that I would have had before, but alas…) please do so right away because this was off the hook. For our entrees, the man-friend had the ribeye steak with truffle parmesan fries and chimichurri. He truly enjoys a solid piece of meat, and this one was delicious and perfectly cooked medium rare. The truffle parmesan fries were like the kind that you can get anywhere, but none-the-less very good. The chimichurri was not overwhelmingly garlicky(a plus for me!) I had the scallops which was so beautiful on the plate with sweet potato mash, parsnip ships, micro greens, the whole lot. We were told that they try different things in terms of their scallop dish, and that this was a throwback to a former iteration of the dish. I’d say stick with this one, especially for fall and winter, because it was really beautiful. There was definitely no room for dessert on this evening! Overall we had a great time at 1Kept, so don’t be scared about the location and go check it out.

One of the best meals and atmospheres we’ve ever had. Got the pork tenderloin and swordfish and warm kale salad with chorizo sausage. 5 stars. Love the location considering we can walk from our apartment. Awesome place!

PARKINGISINTHEBACK, BEHINDTHEBUILDINGANDDOWNTHERAMP. You’re welcome :-). The flatbreads are great! The one that has fig on it was my personal favorite. The filet was awesome too, but I’d opt out of the fries in the future. They are really salty. The popcorn is pretty salty too. It’s good, but if you’re on a date I’d steer clear of it. I think the seasoning is garlic salt. I ordered their chicken entrée to go. It’s a fried chicken breast that isn’t bad, but the sure forgot to include their sauce with it. A little disappointed in that. The atmosphere is very nice, hence the 4 stars. It’s a really cool spot if you want some privacy. It has low lighting and good music plus quality décor. Parking is a little confusing, though. When you enter go down the ramp all the way to the bottom. You’re pretty much parking in the back of the building, but that’s where you enter. It’s a little nerve-racking considering valet for the other spots also drives up that ramp.

Might have given this a full 5 stars if it weren’t for being seated next to the only other party in the otherwise empty restaurant. Food, atmosphere and service were wonderful. The pimento cheese board was perfection. Our entrees had fresh, seasonal ingredients. Will be back.

5+ stars for ambiance! This is 1Kept secret. Who would have known this beautiful treasure exists? I’ve passed the sign many times but never ventured in. Parking is down the hill in the back of the restaurant. Climb the stairs and enter a whole different dimension. It is dim, cool, romantic and cozy. There are different types of seatings for different occasions. Outdoor patio has high table tops. Indoor has benches, communal tables, isolated seating for two, center bar with seating all around, etc. Flowers and candles adorn the tables. There is an open kitchen where you can walk by and watch the cooks intent at work. The food menu is not extensive but you won’t have much of a paradox of choice here. I tried the pork belly starter, arranged creatively. The belly was fatty and juicy. There may have been a dry morsel but overall, it’s succulent. Lamb tagliatelle. This also is very flavorful. The lamb is very tender and will fall apart with the poke of a fork. It goes well with the thin noodles(I prefer even thinner, if possible). There are vegetables such as peas that decorate the dish as well. Salmon. Seared just right on a bed of fresh vegetables and light dressing. Highly recommended for the adventurer who loves to explore new decors and have good food that is reasonably priced. I will have to return and assess for consistency before I give this place a certified 5 stars!

Just had a fantastic meal here. Ambience is great, very relaxed but fun. Modern dark décor with nice lighting. Service was attentive and friendly. A little slow at times but not ever too long. We all had wine and were all very pleased with the selections. Our table had peach flatbread, tagliatelle, chicken schnitzel and the duck. We all finished ours with the exception of the chicken schnitzel which was a huge portion. Easily lunch the next day. Overall great place for great price. Why did it take me 2 years to finally come by?! Will be back very soon!

Stopped in last night to grab some drinks before seeing fireworks. Loved the open environment and promo, friendly service. Sebastian at the bar was more than accommodating. He listened carefully and made me one of the best Old Fashioned’s I’ve ever had, and also took the time to create a delicious mocktail for my pregnant wife. We loved our short time here and will definitely be back for dinner. Great service and great drinks. We wanted to stay longer.

I have started coming as it is currently one of the most viable options in the Peachtree Hills area for good food and drinks. As most know I would frequest Holeman in Finch frequently given its relative proximity. That said, my interest in the local has been fading as of late as the crowd tends to be all tourists or consultants/bankers. Boring. 1 Kept has great local food and a nice assortment of beer, wine and drinks all at still fairly reasonable prices. Over the past year, as I have found myself dining at many of the new Buckhead hotspots I have noticed a disturbing trend. Tables are too close together and the intimacy associated with dining out in Atlanta has since become a thing of the past. Replaced is an experience much like New York or San Francisco with tables side-by-side, row by row, with minimal room for movement or intimate conversation. 1 Kept, to its credit has LOTS of space between tables, has a nice rectangular bar, and has the service to match these important aesthetics. The bar has one smaller TV, hence if there is a game I need to catch I can have it in the background, within the corner view of my eyes, as I am engrossed in conversation. The one problematic thing for me is that they do not have draft beer. They do have many local(no preservatives) beers in bottles and cans though. I will be coming here more often.

Was surprised by the prices for what you get. Flat breads were good. Craft drinks were fine. Risotto tasted(and felt) like it had an entire stick of butter. Dense and mushy — and not light and airy as it’s supposed to be.

Not too thrilled about this place. Running out of food, server getting drinks wrong, smelly fish dish… need I say more? FOOD: I started with a cocktail, Strawberry Fields, which was the best part of the night. It was sweet and refreshingly strong! For apps, I wanted the Mussels but they ran out of it, and it was early in the night. So disappointing. So we got the Fried Okra with aioli and hot sauce. Talk about greasy! For dinner, our server suggested the Grouper over the Trout. It was so fishy smelly and bland that I didn’t even finish it. The sides of Seasonal squash mélange, kale, fennel citrus slaw, tarragon oil, did not complement the Grouper fish. When my friends got another order of wine glasses, our server brought it to me, who was drinking a cocktail. Duh! For dessert, we had Sweet and Salty which is vanilla butter ice cream on top of kettle corn popcorn. Even though it was birthday dinner, they didn’t do anything special.

American cuisine with a twist! Ambiance; very trendy yet warm. Crowd; a mix of families, friends and a few dates. Definitely not a great place for kids. The setting is very adult/grownup like. Food; mouth watering with beautiful presentation. My recommendation, order the bruschetta trio as the starter, with lamb shank and roasted chicken as the main course. The lamb shank was just amazing. Slow cooked with tender meat blending great with the sweet risotto.

It took me a while to decide between 2 or 3 stars. So, I asked myself would I go back and the answer is probably not. 2 it is. Parking is in the back of the restaurant, all the way down the hill. It’s free. So, that’s a plus. I came here for a birthday dinner. The reservation was for 25, they sat us at a hightop table that sat 16. We had to add more chairs and really squeeze in when when everyone arrived. They have specialty cocktails but I ordered my usual wine. A friend of mine ordered the Chamble. I tasted it – it had an aftertaste. Just say no to that drink. It took a while to get our order taken, but since it was a large party that’s understandable. I ordered Chicken Schnitzel, I switched the brussel sprouts out for brocollini though. The server said that was fine. When the food came everything looked pretty good. Most nice restaurants bring steak knives to the table for those that’ll need one before the food comes out. Well we only had butter knives and I def got an arm workout in trying to cut the chicken lol. I asked the server for steak knives and she brought them out. Problem solved. The Schnitzel was fine and the brocollini was good. It’s def enough for dinner and lunch the next day. There was something else on the plate… I’m not 100% sure what it was. My friend ordered the tenderloin and said it was amazing. A few people had the calamari flatbread and it was not so great. Things went really downhill when it was time for the check. One of my friends asked for her check, and gave the server her card when she brought it. Well about 15 – 20 min goes by and the card/check hadn’t been brought back yet. Mind you the server had been over to the table like four times during this period and brought a few other people their check. So, my friend asked about her card and the server is like Ohhhh, then went and got it. She’d left it sitting somewhere. She started bringing the rest of the checks in no particular order, some people that asked for their checks didn’t get them and others that didn’t ask received theirs. I’m not sure why they weren’t all brought out at the same time. I asked for mine around 9:30…I didn’t get the check until about 10:15.The restaurant was not busy at all. One of the girls gave her card to the server around 9:30, well 10 was creeping up and still no card back. She decided to go look for it. When she came back to the table she said it was just laying out. That’s not okay at all anyone could have walked by and grabbed it. My check had a $ 4 charge for switching sides. That’s annoying because I was not made aware of the upcharge. It took about 45 min to get my check and I didn’t get my card back for another 20… When I’m eating with a party I’m pretty patient. I’ve been a server at more than one restaurant and I know how big parties can get. However some things are just unacceptable. You should never leave someone’s card laying around or take over an hour printing checks/running cards– especially if it’s your only table. The food was decent but not fantastic. Service was okay up until the trying to pay. Atlanta has tons of places to eat and I have no desire to come back here.
