We really enjoyed our visit on Mother’s Day. Wonderful corner table. Fabulous service!!! All the food from the grill octopus and the oysters. To our main course of duck for me and fluke for my husband. We ended our meal with wonderful dessert of chocolate mousse. Thank you 4th and swift. You are doing a great job both front and in the kitchen.

Many thanks to Jay Swift & Breanna Washington for hosting our Old Fourth Ward Monthly Happy Hour! You exceeded our expectations as always! Small bites were delicious, cocktails were fantastic, but above all, the service from the staff was impeccable. The nicest part is that your truly make us feel at home and we love that you are a part of our community, and support us always!

Food portions were tiny and very expensive. An order of asparagus was $ 15 and came with only three pieces. Small pieces. I think this place used to be really good, but has fallen on hard times. One other couple was in the restaurant at the time and there were disappointing as well. Will not go back due to service and prices.

This is my second visit to this place, and I’ve been telling everybody about it since the first. It’s a relaxed restaurant, but with a buzzy feeling, situated inside an industrial looking space that feels incredibly cool. The menu is well put together. Many local options and some inventive choices too — shrimp sausage, duck prosciutto, anybody? — but we left it to the chef and went for the tasting menu. It changes weekly, so one can expect it to be a feast of seasonal delights. With the wine pairing, it peaks at just over $ 100 each — reasonable for this sort of 5 course delight. Every course was timed right, plated beautifully and cooked to perfection. The charred fava beans with pea purée were, somehow, the standout dish for me. Not even a perfectly seared bavette steak conjured as much flavor as the beans. 5 courses were finished with a chocolate pot au crème, which complemented the Madeira pairing perfectly. As expected, wine pairings were on point, despite one of the whites being a Greek option that had me terrified. I just wish this place were busier. 6 of 30 tables were filled in a Wednesday night. Simply not enough to sustain a restaurant or ambience. Get going people, it’s a gem!

Really great restaurant. Period. Solid food and service. Relaxed atmosphere and great cocktails. Surprisingly large portions for main entrees. The toffee desert is the best hands down, don’t let anyone tell you different. Very southern influenced cooking style. Nuff said.

Staff is excellent. Very knowledgeable and add to the experience perfectly. The interior is simple and modern with just the right ambiance. Wine selection is great. Food is always good. Sometimes I want to lick the dishes after we are though. Cocktail list could use some work. But this is a don’t miss restaurant.

Wow what a Amazing dinner last night in Atlanta. I don’t generally post reviews but I have no choice in this matter. The chefs tasting all five of us got was absolutely remarkable. I felt like I was in Paris without the snobbery. The chef was accommodating as we had a allergy stricken table. The Service was impressive and stealth. Our server was also hilarious and quite whitty. It just doesn’t happen in fine dining in California, New York, Paris. The wine was spectacular, we did a magnum bottle of Faust along with the wine pairing. It was outstanding, I really had a good time with our colleagues we will definitely be here when we come to back to GA.

Naturally, my husband and I did some Unilocal research on spots to check out on our visit to Atlanta. Based on proximity to the house we rented, 4th& Swift was of interest and wound up being our last meal in the city! We made our Sunday evening reservations a couple of hours in advance, but definitely didn’t need to… only a few tables and some folks at the bar, so we received great and prompt service. I was excited to see an aquavit cocktail on the menu(Krogstad Aquavit, Boomsma«Oude» Genever, Kopke 10-Year Tawny Port, Barrel-Aged Peychaud’s Bitters) — though I wasn’t as blown away by this as the pricetag made me anticipate. I also tried an interesting sounding mezcal drink(Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Green Chartreuse, Charred Bell Pepper, Corn Smut, Pineapple, Jalapeño, Truffled Salt, Fresh Lime, Hellfire Shrub) which had a lot going on, as the description would suggest. Overall, the drink menu was decent and worth exploring. They also have a HUGE wine selection so if that’s your jam, check it out. The food is what really did it for me — starting with oysters(simple but phenomenal), a crawfish and asparagus«salad» that was out of this world(by far my favorite part of the evening), and a side of spicy broccolini because I cannot help but order broccolini every time it’s available. We also received a complimentary basket full of warm, garlicky bread that we savored throughout the meal. For his entrée, my husband got a pork-three-ways dish that he thoroughly enjoyed. I stuck to my weekend theme of seafood and ordered a trout dish. The trout itself was fantastic, but the potatoes and olives were a tangy flavor that I didn’t care for as much. Plus, potatoes have to be pretty interesting for me to see them as more than just a filler. If I could go back, I would have just ordered more small plates with my husband — but he was so happy with his pork dinner that it makes up for my minor disappointment. This place is pretty, though it doesn’t look like much from the outside — and it’s definitely the kind of place where, if I were not so limited in my dietary preferences and allergies, I would love to do the chef’s tasting menu. The restaurant is a bit of a splurge best to reserve for a nice date night, but certain items(*cough*ZUCKERMAN’S ASPARAGUSSALAD*cough*) make it totally worthwhile!

As recently as a couple of years ago, I considered 4th& Swift to not only be one of the best restaurants in Atlanta, but in fact to be one of the best in this part of the country. If I ever had guests in from out of town, or wanted to celebrate an occasion with a family member or business colleague, this was always where I headed. But sometime around 2014, I noticed I wasn’t going as much anymore. Last night’s dinner reminded me why. To keep it short, the food just isn’t up to their prior standards. And while I know any restaurant can have an off night, this is not the first time in the last year or so where I found myself thinking, «Hmm…I don’t know that I will be coming back». In fact, it’s taken me three separate mediocre meals over the course of a year to unhappily write this review. The smoked octopus used to be a favorite. Last night, it was chewy, and inexplicably, accompanied not by a hickory-smoked sauce, but a peanut-butter(?) type sauce. I was hungry, so I ate it… but it was not good. For an entrée, I ordered«The Three Pigs», another favorite dish of mine that I’ve had numerous times. It’s a collection of three types of pork(hence it’s name)…pork loin, bacon, and pigs ears. At least, that’s what it is supposed to be. Mine arrive featuring several pieces of pork loin… but no bacon nor pigs ears. And the pork loin itself was relatively flavorless and terribly dry. My guest had a somewhat similar experience, judging the food as «It’s…okay.» To end on a positive note, their deserts were fantastic. Toffee pudding and the chocolate tart were absolutely fantastic. Absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, this was the only part of the meal that reminded me of my earlier, more enthusiastic experiences at 4th& Swift. I’ve also noticed that quite a lot of the wait staff, who previously had been there for years and years on end… almost all seemed absent on this recent trip. I really wish the place well, and thank them for the great memories and meals in the past. But when food quality veers heavily towards the pricy-but-mediocre…and the wait-staff seems to have an unusual number of newcomers… it’s rarely a good sign for the future. Truly hope they can get their magic back. When in their prime, this place was as good as it gets.

I took my family there for a birthday and they were all super impressed. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and attention to detail in every aspect of the food preparation, ingredients, and wait staff knowledge. I would say that my taste buds were very happy that evening. This place is at a level that very few restaurants achieve, and they have such a widely varied menu that it can satiate almost any palate.

Excellent option for a night out. Location is great, right next to Ponce City Market. Our waiter, Craig, offered top-notch service. He was personable, funny, knowledgeable about the menu, drinks and what to pair and even jumped right in with our quasi-political debate during dinner. I wish I could take him with us to every restaurant. I ordered the Duck Breast, per our servers Reco, which was Devine. Duck was booked perfectly, the presentation was beautiful and the sides paired incredibly well. I never thought duck and marshmallow would be a combination to die for, but it damn sure was. My husband ordered the trout and it was good too. I’m not a trout lover, so I will leave it at that. Ambiance was spot-on. Cozy two person booth suited our date night well. We will return someday, and would recommend this to others! Enjoy :)

Went here for the first time with my girlfriend and the food was amazing. Our waitress was extremely nice, friendly & professional. The food is surprising fresh tasting and delicious. I have one tiny little complaint — the music is so loud in there that it is very difficult to hear conversation. Decent place to go, has some atmosphere.

This was my third time here. They were running a prefix menu for the New Years week. I was there on the 30th to avoid the craziness. It was slow and I hoped the low volume would help them work things out before New Year’s Eve. While the wine pairing was excellent the dishes themselves left a lot to be desired. The burrata was the 1st course and it was dry and flavorless, as its contents could not match the puff pastry surrounding it. It was lacking in flavor. The 2nd course was a monk fish and it seemed to be begging for more acid and/or salt. The duck came 3rd and had all the salt the previous two courses lacked. Overall it was probably the best course of the night The 4th and main course was a slow braised short rib. It was ok. It was smokey. Perhaps too smokey. Desert was good. Price with Pairing was 200 for two plus tax and tip.

Bam! Great food. Ok service. With the demise of Abattoir, 4th and Swift may now be my favorite Atlanta restaurant. The menu was lovely and tempting. The food extraordinary. Each plate looked like a work of art when it came to the table, was empty when it left. This is a foodie restaurant. Don’t complain about the portions or the prices — although the price was reasonable for the quality of the food. I met my foodie friend Pat at 4th and Swift.(‘North and Scrumptious,’ to shamelessly steal a line from Unilocal friend Carrie Neal W.) Don’t believe your GPS, which wants to take you to the back of the lot where there is no entrance. Go east on North Avenue from downtown. The entrance is on the right about 100 yards past the intersection with Glen Iris. Valet parking. The restaurant is an old dairy re-purposed into a great restaurant. The ambience is industrial chic. We split an order of Brussels sprouts as an appetizer. As a long-time Brussels sprout hater, I never thought I’d say this, but they were amazing. Pat had fluke. I had breast of duck. The duck was perfect on top of a bed of spinach and various other tasty morsels. For dessert we split a sticky toffee with ice cream. So why not five stars? Our waiter, whose name I will keep in confidence, didn’t know his way around the menu. There was a mix up on the bill. To his credit and my surprise, the manager called today and we sorted everything out. He wanted to ensure that my experience at the restaurant was welcoming and that i would want to return. Thanks, Scott. I will.

Catching up with my girlfriend has become an annual event. We tend to eat out, and we tend to find a good restaurant nearby. For me this is one of the better new American restaurant in the south. It’s not far from downtown and it’s in an industrial historical section of the town. To the north-westerners, like San Francisco, Portland and Seattle, farm to table concept is nothing new or inventive, but in the south, this is still a fairly new trend. The setting and service both were good and it’s a good place to do a large dinner or just grab a booth and all of sudden it feels intimate. We had the octopus to start. I learned much about her, and I remember how we first met and how circumstances have changed and we each have arrived at a place that memories formed a history, and life has moved on. With age, we learn to appreciate the simpler things, and emotions, are no longer charged, and acceptance, is the only thing that really mattered. There is a certain grace about that process, and the restaurant sort of enhanced that level of understated but calmer temperament that we each grew to adopt. The entrees were good portioned. Both fish and duck were very good. It has a bit of San Francisco type of vibe in terms of food preparation, which I can see is the reason why so many people from the west coast would eat here and then write about them on Unilocal. We tried their signature sticky toffee pudding as a dessert and that’s when southern influence really shined. She said that her boyfriend(or shall we say«friend» in a more southern gentleman’s way) is visiting this weekend from Chicago and she would like to to take him here. I post a food pic on Instagram and some follower of mine said, «I just ran pass the restaurant. It’s an awesome restaurant.» I responded almost immediately, «you could have stopped by and bought us dessert.» In a world that the physical distance is no longer an obstacle in forming relationships of all kinds, we should then not be surprised, in the south, one should find cuisine more akin to Californian, than Southern.

Love, love, love this restaurant! I came to Georgia to visit a girlfriend, and we wanted to pick a nice place for dinner. After some Unilocal reviews, we settled on 4th& Swift. I’m not picky when it comes to food, but I love trying out new and upcoming local places, as opposed to the tried and true(e.g. I certainly didn’t fly across the country to eat at Ruth’s Chris). Parking was easy, and they had complimentary valet, which was certainly helpful. The restaurant itself is a huge industrial loft, so expect high ceilings and dim lighting, but that makes for a great intimate feel. We went for the Chef’s Tasting/Prix Fixe meal, which was $ 75/person. Since it continually changes, I won’t go into detail of each dish, but the flavors and presentation of each dish was immaculate. Portions were generous, and we definitely felt full after the meal. We unfortunately had to leave early, so our waiter packed up our dessert and just to show how much how much attention they pay to detail, every single component of our dessert was packed into small cups, so we could recreate the dessert at home. Absolutely fantastic meal, and would definitely go back again if I am ever in the neighborhood.

I am not exaggerating when I say the best desserts I’ve ever eaten in my life have been at 4th and Swift. Even if you just swing by this place and sit at the bar for a cocktail and dessert, do it immediately. They are so unbelievably good and complex that I’m not sure how to adequately describe them(and I’ve tried three, different desserts off their menu so far). Aside from the sweets, the food is excellent at 4th and Swift, too. Yes, it’s pricey, but we’ve always had great, knowledgeable servers and delicious entrees. I can only think of one dish I had(an oyster appetizer) that was somewhat underwhelming, but still decent. Every other bite of food I’ve had at my three trips to 4th and Swift have been knockouts.

I really enjoyed this place. The food was spectacular– particularly the scallops appetizer. The drink menu was really interesting– although I don’t remember the name, the drink I got tasted like Fall in a glass and had a very odd but delicious assortment of ingredients(including black olive oil!). My only complaint was that the tables were slightly too close together. It is expected at a place like that, but I still don’t like it very much.
