Maybe I’m bourbon and good-service spoiled but this place didn’t live up to it’s hype. I was here after an event on a Saturday night and paid a total of $ 34 for an Eagle Rock and an Angel’s Envy(both neat). I get that this bar is in the Intercontinental. I get that they think they are *super fancy*. But, truth be told, they aren’t. If I made this order in Birmingham, AL at an equally nice atmosphere bar(where the bartenders actually *talk* to you) it would be sub $ 20. That’s a big bourgeois tax, even for Buckhead. Further, drinks were served in the same glassware that is the standard issue water glasses in the guest rooms(whoa, tacky) and the seating/standing situation was less suave and more standard-crowded-bar. Next time, I’ll pass.

The drinks are excellent. The environment is awesome. I have bartended for 14 years and I’ve never had ruder service in my life. Worst hospitality I’ve ever experienced.

Lobby bars don’t get any better than this — Bourbon Bar has serves up meat cuts to go with any libation of your choice… and Tamara floats around the bar serving all this goodness with a charm that represents southern hospitality in all its warmth.

We come to Atlanta a lot for business and often stay in the Intercontinental. One thing we loved about it was the Bourbon Bar. We stayed elsewhere this trip and walked over to Bourbon Bar to have a drink. We should have just stayed put in our hotel… This place has gone way down hill… Despite the fact that there were 2 bartenders and 3 cocktail waitresses on staff on Friday, May 1st, we had to go up to the bar and wait for the bartender to stop talking to his girlfriend both times to order a drink. He seemed very put out that we had interrupted him and it was not a very comfortable exchange. I do not want to feel bad for ordering a $ 16 cocktail in a high-end establishment. Although it was a relatively quiet evening, other patrons were having the same issue. Several had to walk to the bar to place their orders. Not a big deal in other establishments, but what I always liked about Bourbon Bar at the Intercontinental was the service and the friendly cocktail waitresses. We ordered two drinks from the bar, had to carry our empties back to the bar each time to make room on our table. We had to ask for water 3 times. We were going to go to Southern Art for dinner but ended up going elsewhere. I won’t be back to Bourbon Bar, which is a shame.

Unfortunately the name of this hotel lobby bar attracts more than it actually offers. It does indeed have a super side selection of bourbon. However it’s not offering much else. Service wasn’t bad or rude. Though slow and a bit unorganized. They didn’t seem to know to clear space for people who were trying to sit, who to take a drink order from, or where somethings were. The drinks were alright. My Manhattan was actually very good. When I had any questions the bartenders gave thorough responses. The place just didn’t seem that special to me. Kind of small for a place trying to be a nice hotel lobby bar. It was alright though. Besides their«Hers» day specials, they weren’t doing anything for happy hour. In the end, I’d only suggest coming through if this was you hotel lobby bar.

Her’s Day Thursday! $ 7 specialty mix drinks and $ 5 wine! The live music is a perk too! Even though it is in the lobby of the infamous Intercontinental Hotel it isn’t all she-she-poo-poo. It is the perfect place to relax after a challenging day of work.

This place is a total mess. We visited the bar on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Because of allergic reactions due to certain vodkas, we ordered two Ciroc drinks at $ 13 each because Ciroc is made from grapes, not grains. We were told the gas was out and so the tonic and ginger ale would be flat. The waitress was going to hunt down some bottles. Our drinks arrived and the server told us the gas was fixed. They were lacking carbonation so the gas was clearly not fixed. The tonic tasted like club soda. We drank them anyway. Later that evening when friends who were also staying at the hotel arrived, they went to the bar. I ordered another Ciroc and was told they don’t have Ciroc. So what was I given earlier? Fortunately I didn’t have an allergic reaction, but I was definitely overcharged. Deception doesn’t build credible business. A hotel the quality of an Inter-Continental should have a better bar. It’s a shame that it’s the only option in the hotel, so it’s busy regardless of the bad practices. Next time, I might choose a different hotel with a better run bar. On a(sort of) positive note, the flatbread we ordered took forever and the server didn’t charge us for it. And it was tasty.

I celebrated NYE here with friends. It was awesome choice for such event ! Beautiful decorations. Live music. Good bar. Good service. It was one of those places where there was a lot of people especially considering the NYE party, but the atmosphere still stayed intimate and music was wonderful. I’ll be definitely back here for other occasions and it seems like a great place to catch up for a drink on regular day as well.

[TL;DR] Situated inside the Intercontinental, specializing in … what else? Bourbon. The Bourbon Bar has quite an extensive collection of bourbon. This isn’t the place you order Jim Beam from a bartender. This is where you order an Old Fashioned from a «mixologist» and expect to have the right bitters to balance the right bourbon… or something like that. That’s what most of our friends at the table ordered. Me? I settled in with a bourbon flight. The Four Roses bourbon flight consists of three tastings of Four Roses bourbon: the yellow label, the blend, and the single barrel. The yellow label is your typical mixing bourbon. It’s designed to mix with something or … I don’t know … fuel internal combustion engines? It went down like how I imagine passing a kidney stone must feel. I don’t know why it would belong in a flight expect to provide contrast. Perhaps it’s really there to make the other two tastings seem better. Regardless, it worked. The blend went down without a fight and the single barrel… very smooth. I wished this place was a bit more private. It’s designed like a hospital gown, with your backside hanging out in the open. The lobby of the hotel faces the wall of bourbon. I had been looking forward to trying this place out and was envisioning dark wood, dim lighting, plush, leather couches… you know… the kind of big buttons as a part of the upholstery? The server offered snacks which never showed up. Upon asking, he indicated the kitchen never put it together. He did show up a few minutes later with something from the kitchen — a plate of room temperature crab cake poppers. Hey… no complaints here. He tried. The thought that counts, right?

Old Fashion Style Cocktails. Ordered some of their cocktails and I must say they are good… A bit pricey, but with just 2 or 3 you are feeling good.

Hell Yeah …4 Stars… I like Bourbon and they have a very good selection as well as flights to allow multiple tastings. Nice vibe and comfortable seating in the adjacent lobby and patio. The service was a tad slow and could use more outdoor seating as the cooler days of fall approach.

This lovely treasure is a delight. It’s inside the inercontinental hotel. I’m not a burbon girl. Tonight I was craving a dirty martini. They made it strong not to much dirty and delicious.

We ended up at the Bourbon Bar last Friday night after our evening out in Buckhead. Located inside the InterContinental, the bar was packed when we arrived at 10:00pm. There was a live band in the foyer, just outside of the bar entrance. The bar had different music playing, and the atmosphere was more hispter and casual. The drinks was strong, our bartender was friendly. We sat in these large armchairs which reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, while we listened to the music and soaked up our surroundings. Since we were at the IC, the bathrooms were clean and decorated to match the classy vibe the IC exudes. The noise level inside Bourbon Bar was perfect enough to still have a decent conversation without having to lean in so close, and my overall experience was pleasant. This spot is great for late night drinks! I definitely will be returning to Bourbon Bar when I am in Buckhead again.

Bourbon lovers rejoice! It is the south, where Bourbon is a way of life. The only thing that was disappointing was No Pappy. No 12, no 15 no 20… No Hirsch either. They had pretty much everything else, just no Super ultra stuff. Bummer. Bring your stacks just the same as it is no bargain.

Lots of Bourbon with all the usual suspects covered… just nothing super special. We headed here after a conference in the hotel due to the ease and convenience of the place. The drinks were as expected(as no one ordered anything fancy) and I was quietly impressed that they had Chopin vodka(as absolute fav of mine). The free chips for the table was a nice touch and the chips were decent.

Blimey! If you like bourbon, you could make yourself crazy at this place. There is something for everyone here. You probably can’t get away with spending less than $ 8 – 10, but if that’s your concern, this probably isn’t the place for you. Why? Because you could easily spend $ 50+ on a single glass of sweet, sweet bourbon if you had the inclination. There are dozens and dozens of options, from tried and true Kentucky varieties, extra special limited release selections and some«variations on the theme»(that is, if you want to go down the path of debating the differences between and subsequent merits of what’s produced in KY vs. TN vs. other parts of the country, or world). They have some food, too, but I didn’t eat. This isn’t really a place you go to for the food. I went for a manhattan rather than a straight up snoot of any of their many, many tasty offerings. They had a slightly unique take on the traditional manhattan, and it was very good. Flavored bitters, fancy conflict-free cherries, that kind of thing. I kid, but seriously, it was a great drink(which a manhattan should be when it’s $ 14, right?). I’d go back.

This review is for bourbon enthusiasts who are looking for something special. In short, they don’t have anything special. I liked it well enough – the service is good, and they do have a much more extensive collection of bourbon than is normal for a business district bar. However, they top out at mid-grade stuff, most of which is readily available at any liquor store. The drams are higher priced than normal, but about on par with this area. I have no specific complaints with this business; they have done well putting together a middling collection and some nice cocktails. But if you’re looking for anything special or rare, you will be disappointed. If you’re OK sipping $ 15 drams of middle shelf bourbon, check it out.

A-OK(but really a fan fan fan!) Things to go to Bourbon Bar for: –Bourbon(duh) –Charcuterie –The bar nuts they serve with your drinks –The delicious coffee they serve when you are so jet-lagged you had to take a nap on the booth while your friends were having drinks Things NOT to go to Bourbon Bar for: –Service(sooooooooooo slowwwwwwwwwwwwww) –A bar-like environment(you sit in part of the hotel lobby) –Ample seating(ie. it’s hard to find seating for a group of more than 5)

I was here on a Friday night after dinner with a friend. We sat near the main bar. There was a large, diverse crowd out that night. The menu was quite long with a number of food and drink options. I enjoyed drinking a few cocktails and eating some pork sliders. It was awesome. The Governor is a delicious cocktail. The service was a little slow but the waitstaff was nice. Would definitely come here again!
