Went in for drinks, left with a new friend and a discovered love of red bean hummus. Their food is delicious and the Yebo Mule is awesome. My server(Howie) made my night. I highly recommend getting his table. Drinks are pricey so expect to drop a lot of you’re ordering more than one.

Wondered in looking for something different. Food was very good and service was efficient. The lobster couscous is yummy! Everything we had was good. I love the tomato soup with a side of bruschetta. Everything was medium sized tapa style so great for hanging out with friends and ordering some small plates.

Wonderful restaurant located in a nice mall. We had to enter theough their indoor location in the mall. Their outside location is under construction. When we arrived they had a wonderful musician there. He sang very well and he did several famous cover songs. The restaurant had a very comfortable lounge atmosphere. The only negative was it started to get a little cold later on into the night. The service was excellent. Very warm and responsive staff. I really enjoyed their food, it left a satisfied but clean feeling. In other words the food was delicious but it did not feel heavy or unhealthy. We had a great night!

Enjoyed the atmosphere and attentive service so much we closed the place. Food was fresh and tasty. Ample options from vegan to carnivores. Planning to return in good weather for the patio.

Delicious! Just got back from a trip to South Africa and my tastebuds were craving some good food. Stopped in for a quick bite before a movie and decided on a Bobotie bunny chow and malva pudding. The Bobotie was outstanding with great flavor. I was super tempted to order another one but controlled myself. The Malva Pudding wasn’t the same as I had in SA and the bartender warned me before ordering but it was still good. Will definitely make my way back to Yebo in the near future.

I went to Yebo last Sunday evening. I had reservations but on this occasion they were not busy. I ate the ostrich sliders and my bestie ate the bobotie. The ostrich was so tender and juicy. The consistency was like ground beef but the flavor very rich. The bobotie had a sweet savory taste. I really can’t describe it but it was delicious the egg absolutely set the dish off. The drinks were phenomenal. They were potent and tasty. I will most definitely be back. The restaurant is located in Phipps Plaza.

i like this clean and not super loud tapas place. Hard to find parking and often cold. This place makes up for that with there BEAUTIFUL and kind staff. My Favorite dishes are the sliders and red hummus. Definitely worth the try if you haven’t already. Please make reservtions or else you will regret it.

Friday night me and a girlfriend went to yebo to meet up with other friends, we arrived first so I ordered a glass of wine from the bar, very nice bartender btw. We decided to grab a table and wait for the others to arrived… The waitress walked over with menus and asked if we were planing on eating… My friend said sure but not yet we are waiting on colleagues… She responded by saying WELLTHISISMYTABLEITSHOW I MAKEMYMONEYSOIFYOURNOTEATINGITSBESTTOSITATTHEBAR. It was absolutely shocking this lady could say something like that to a customer. We asked for the manager right away and they assured us she might not have a job. Not that I want anybody to loose a job over a comment which I am pretty sure won’t happened but it was very disrespectful and if it wasn’t pouring rain out side we would have left. I felt like PRETTYWOMANINTHATRICHARDGEREMOVIE… needless to say her replacement was sweet and made all the tips she wish she could have had on a slow night

Was at Yebo last night hanging with friends and had a great time. It was our first time so wasn’t sure what to expect. The food was delicious!!! I had Fried Chicken which was like nothing I’ve eaten before. The Zulu cocktail was really nice too. The ambience is nice, dim lights with some cool live music playing. Not a very large place but certainly nice hangout. My only wish would be to have a door or some block from the mall entrance to make that side less exposed. It maybe due to the surrounding construction.

Yea’ boi! ;-) I love the sister branch of this restaurant, so I had high expectations coming to yebo and it met my expectations by far. The reason why its not a 5 and a 4 star review is only due to lack of variety/options in the menu. The menu is pretty limited, not much variety to choose from plus the plates are small portions/tapas style, but the limited things I did try were pretty damn good! Ostrich — oh my! loved it! Tacos– very good bobitek? the bread bowl with ground beef and fried egg– super yummmy! Overall, I enjoyed each and every bite of meal, just wish there was a little more they can offer or make their portions larger so its like a meal instead of very limited small plates.

This place is too cute. I obviously had their ostrich burger because everyone pretty much said I had to try it. It was pretty amazing and the presentation was simple enough to highlight the flavors. This is considered a South African restaurant and the food was amazing. I tried a few delicious things on the menu like the air popped popcorn which I recommend. I also had the truffle fries which were hands down the best I’ve had in a really really long time. I had their fried green tomatoes which were cooked to perfection. It had avocado and ricotta cheese for a totally different take on such a simple dish. For desert I had their foie gras pancakes! Small pancakes cooked with bacon maple syrup and real bacon pieces with whipped cream topped with a generous piece of foie? YESPLEASE!

Yebo is the first of 10 stops as part of «Eat the Peachtree 2015 — Electric Boogaloo!» — this is the return of the world’s largest world’s largest 10K-themed pub crawl. 10 clicks, 10 stops, 10 dishes, 10 drinks. 1 epic afternoon. Locate all the posts along with an intro if you search my blog with ETP2015. We walked from restaurant to restaurant in search of the best flavors and drinking venues in Atlanta, while enjoying the same sights as you would while running the Peachtree Road Race. You can find Yebo in Phipps Plaza along the front side of the mall across from Twist. This is a beautiful bar/restaurant with exotic South African influenced and modernist finishes. As a group, we assembled at Yebo after it opened its doors at 12:00PM(this all all ETP2015 events were held on Sunday, 2015.07.05, the day after the 4th of July celebration and 2015 Peachtree Road Race). The«brunch law» prevented us from drinking booze until 12:30PM. Initially seven people congregated with one dropping out(seems he had a bit too much to celebrate the night before and opted to sleep it off). There was a Brunch Menu available that had some interesting items, of course we forewent and decided to order some of Yebo’s signature dishes. For drinks we ordered a variety, including Bloody Marys, an awesome cucumber Zulu and a Sunday Funday Mule… We started the food off with a really fantastic bowl of air-popped popcorn covered in parmesian cheese — I’m definitely a convert on this. And then the signature ostrich sliders — these were fantastic. And to round things out, this bowl of mussels… The food, drinks, ambiance and service were all top-notch! A great way to kick off the crawl! (longer version with photos posted to my food blog)

We happened upon Yebo by chance, when we were just hungry and wanted to find something quickly. I am glad that we stumbled upon them! At about 9:30 on a Saturday night, the place was very busy. Thankfully, there was a small table for two in a narrow back area of the restaurant. I loved the décor… very dark colors, mostly candle light. A live band was also playing on the other side of the place, which could have been a bit loud if you were sitting close to them. We scanned the menu and found that this is a «tapas» restaurant, which basically means that you are going get smaller plates of food(without much lower, if any, of a price tag.) We started off with a couple of drinks and an appetizer of fried green tomatoes(which were amazing!!) The tomatoes were battered with feta inside, and were topped with mangoes and a delicious glaze. A bit expensive($ 9 for two tomatoes.) They were out of the bread bowls, which is apparently the signature part of the majority of their dishes. I had a beef curry(which you could put over rice or quinoa, since they were out of the bowls.) I opted for the quinoa, and the dish was SOOOO good. This is the sort of dish that I could see myself craving at times(in fact, I am craving it right now while writing this!) My partner had the chicken curry over rice, which was good but nothing to write home about. The bowls were not too badly priced, compared to the appetizer especially. Drinks were also a bit pricey, so we ended up spending a good bit. However, the food and atmosphere were very good… would most definitely go back!

The food was pricey… I had the chicken curry over was ok. The fried green tomatoes were awesome… they had guacamole… cheese and I don’t know what else(AMAZING). However they were 9.00(for 2). The atmosphere is cool… dark. Friendly staff and although they were packed… food came out fast. I will go back… And try something else(found out I don’t love curry like I used to)

Formally«The Grape» this place has transformed itself. Obviously the layout is still the same but the vibe is completely different. MMMMMmmmmm bunny chow and hummus was a winner!!! Hummus is ridiculously large and well worth it as an appetizer. Shared the bunny chow with my gf and it was a tad bit buttery but still tasty. I think I ordered the«Zulu» which is a cucumber cocktail and the bartender conjured it up strong and refreshing. I enjoyed the quaint atmosphere and mood that the restaurant elicited. It doesn’t get too insanely busy, but busy enough where all the bar seats were occupied. I like how they have purse hooks underneath the bar.

The only thing that will be free is the parking. Menu: The menu extremely over priced for such tiny portions and far from the authentic South African food they claim to be known for. I would also say this place is more of a drink place rather than a dining place. Food: We ordered a bottle of wine,(2 mini) ostrich burgers, two«South African» dishes that just seemed to be broth in a bread bowl, and lava cake. The food was delicious(especially the ostrich burgers!!!) but I left still feeling not quite full even after a $ 90 check. Service: service was slow. Not surprised for a Friday night but we had different waiters come up to us and help out which was very nice. the musician playing was absolutely amazing but the music was way too loud and I spent a good chunk of dinner yelling at my date. If I come back, it will be for the ostrich burger, but I recommend the restaurants next door if you’re looking for a full meal for a reasonable price.

Yebo is a fusion of South African and American Southern so our mistake was coming here expecting more of South African flavor. The ambiance was beautiful and we braved inhaling plumes of cigar smoke to enjoy the patio outside. Apart from the plumes of smoke, it was pleasant outside with the breeze and the awesome music mixing. It was a little disturbing to see a group of guys continue to hit on our waitress through the night, and they started to put their hands on her… but she seemed to be ok with it so we stopped worrying about it. The service was very friendly but she seemed slightly more intent on helping the guys’ group next to us than us. Our food took a very long time. We came in around 9:40 and put our order in around 9:50. The food came out nearly around 10:20pm, which is a long wait at the end of the night when they weren’t that busy. We ordered 3 tapas and split them – the bobotie, the lobster couscous and the lamb lollipops. The bobotie was amazing!!! Really the best dish. The lamb was tender and seasoned well but the quinoa it sat on was over salted and not tasty at all. The lobster couscous was off – not sure about it but maybe it was overpowered by the lobster and the flavors of the couscous didn’t feel balanced. Overall I feel that the fusion just didn’t work in this restaurant – either all South African or creative Southern would’ve been better but perhaps we just ordered the wrong dishes! I mentioned it was my husband’s birthday but there didn’t seem to be any chance for a tiny dessert at the end which we were hoping for, but perhaps at a high-scale restaurant we can’t expect that. We left less than satisfied after paying such a large bill. The waitress recommended that we try out 10 degrees south, their sister restaurant in Buckhead that serves traditional South African food. Not sure if we will bother trying it… we will wait for our bi-annual trip to Boma at Disney World which is the most amazing meal EVER for flavors around the entire continent of Africa, beautiful ambiance, and the best value for your money.

In a neighborhood where your only decent dining options will cost you a pretty penny, Yebo is a nice, mid-priced option with some very tasty food, nice but not pretentious atmosphere, and very good service. I actually really like tapas as a concept, since they give you the chance to try a variety of items, and the small plates here are very well executed. Ifyou’re not that hungry, one is actually enough to suffice as a little dinner, since they all include a protein and at least one side and garnish. While I don’t know that I got an overtly South African influence in any of the dishes, they were all still quite tasty. My favorites were the Georgia Shrimp(Yebo’s take on shrimp and grits) and the Fried Chicken(I could have eaten a whole other portion of the corn purée it came on). While we had a reservation for our party of three on a weeknight, it was probably not needed as the restaurant never got more than half full around the 7pm hour. Service was excellent, and they had no problem answering questions about the menu, making recommendations, and splitting a slightly complicated check. I try to spend as little time in Buckhead as possible. I try to spend even less time in Phipps. But, if I do find myself in Buckhead and at Phipps Plaza again, I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Yebo.

Amidst all the hype of the tapas style offerings, we ventured into Yebo at Phibs mall on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm for what appeared to be late Sunday brunch, still. The patio was full and the dining room area was bustling but it was extremely loud with a live DJ blaring cheezy 80s hits by Cindy Lauper and Miami Sound Machine; very cougar bar-ish set up: older crowd so it was befitting lol The space was not upscale at all although it is trying to be. There were curtains by the entrance of the bathrooms where a floor to ceiling mirror served as a modeling platform For husband-seeking, high heeld, club wardrobed Cougars with heavy make up. The waitresses and bar staff on the other hand were super sporty casual, wearing shorts, loafers and were very, very friendly. The place felt more like a cougar pick up joint than a tapas restaurant; we were told by our friendly waitress that the brunch lounge«bar ambiance» is something they just started trying out — and, given the chi-chi environment of the phibs mall, there were no shortage of old cougar shoppers and middle aged men showing off their newly purchased designer label outfits on site lol Now for the food. Tapas style, we ordered bacon and egg sliders and a kale salad which were amazing; salad came with cranberries and nuts. The French toast was bland with ordinary dry toast with a hint of egg dip and a few shaving slices of srawberry and sauce, visually appealing but bland so, no thanks. The ostrich burger sliders were excellent and very memorable. The beef jerkey was soft and tasted like limp peppered soft raw bacon, yuck! The lamb lollipops were amazing. The fried chicken plate with collard greens and shrimp & grits were good. The fish tacos and desserts were so-so, not that good. All and all, this place did the job for drinks, loud music, Ostrich slider and turns out, cougar pick up join bar ambiance. It is unfortunate that the super friendly and casual staff had to put up with cheesy very loud 80s music and cruisey patrons, especially the Cougars. I bet the bar sales were certainly good but aside from that a pass for a return visit; we would have gone to a bar if we wanted to; we came for the hyped tapas food — And won’t return. But at least we tried it and it wasn’t terrible food and eye popping old people watching lol, three stars and a few lessons in fashion faux-pas watching eager and very cruisy Cougars strutting the aisles between tables lololol

Wow, I was thoroughly impressed with this restaurant & happy to have the opportunity to dine with a lovely group of folks. It was our dear friend, Elaine T.‘s birthday and I was excited to check this place out. The outdoor patio looks great & inviting. Sure the view isn’t the best, but what do you expect when your business is part of one of the busiest malls in Buckhead. Regardless, there were plenty of diners enjoying the patio and the live music playing that night. Kudos to the performer that night. His covers were fantastic & I’m inclined to return just to hear him sing. Loved the décor. It’s dim lighting, bold colors & trendy, modern décor. Super cozy and perfect for catching up with good friends in a more intimate setting or a hot date night. We were a party of 8 and were seated in the round table to your left when you walk in. It was the perfect seating arrangement for the occasion. We ordered practically everything off the small plates menu except for a couple of dishes. Everything tasted AMAZING! I could not stop telling friends about the wonderful experience and encouraged everyone to check out Yebo(pronounced«Yeah-bo) as soon as they possibly can. The flavors were solid in each dish. The seasonings were on point & the meat/lamb dishes were cooked to perfection. The popcorn & truffle fries appetizers were awesome and our server, Jorge was the best we could’ve had. Thanks Min Y. for a memorable dining experience & #hbdelaine!
