I came here with a few friends for the drag show and it was a fun time. I enjoyed the outfits, the banter and the free atmosphere. I didn’t feel like there was any holding back on the performances and that’s what made it great. I’ll be back.

horribly rude bartender. will never return, which is unfortunate because our server was quite good and the food was decent, but a bartender being verbally abusive to customers is not acceptable.

Visited the club many times at night. Always a fun to be here. All the performances are amazing and mind blowing. Decent drink prices. $ 5 to get in but can get a drink with that. Recommended

You wouldn’t believe, but I come here for dinner. The steak is really nicely done and tasty for the price! Service was good-not much attention when you’re a straight girl in a gay club, but good nevertheless.

I am writing about Burkhart’s Pub I used to go in all the time years ago and they used to advertise ‘Never a Cover” I went in this past Saturday night and, Last Friday night. I was shocked that this bar was now charging $ 5 bucks to get in. Really??? why would I, pay you guys 5 dollars to go in and, look at nothing. Your music is loud and, most of the time you allow people to stand right in front of the main entrance so others cannot get in or out. «Fire Hazard» if you ask me. I, would not recommend Burkhart’s to anyone visiting Atlanta. Go some place where can at least enjoy the night with a show for FREE and no COVER.

I ordered a $ 7.75 crispy chicken dinner salad, but was charged $ 8.75 because they forgot to update the menu. Although I couldn’t care less about $ 1, it’s indicative of a lack of attention to detail by management. This is the same establishment that started charging a cover charge at the same time they had current advertisements out that clearly stated«Never a cover charge.» The employees are great, but it seems like management is doing whatever they can to run the place into the ground.

I never really saw myself going to a gay bar but my friend kidnapped me and took me to Burkharts and it was sooooo much fun! That was one of the first places I’ve been to where I felt like I wasn’t getting judged all the time. It was so chill and the music was pretty lit. The drag queens looked FABULOUS& they were hilarious! :) I actually made an effort to go outside my comfort zone & talk to other people which is rare for me but the vibes at this bar was so cool, that it would’ve been impossible not to just open up & talk to all the people there. D E F I N I T E L Y will be returning there ASAP!

Sunday fun day, make sure you sit with Matty. He’s a bundle of fun and positive energy. The drinks are great and the food will amaze you on how good it is. Good prices and great people. Make sure you give Matty a big hug, it’s worth it!

I called ahead asked them what time do they stop serving dinner which I was told 10pm… GREAT…I was really looking forward to trying out their steaks because I’ve heard from several people how good it is… we got here at 8:50pm on Wednesday night… it was not that busy… we sat at one table in the bar area to the right of the door… after sitting there for 12 minutes the bartender asked has anyone came over I told him no and asked should we go over to the other side… he said sure… So we walked over to the main bar area sat at a table top… I saw the waiter he was serving one table in that area… and I believe just one upstairs. So we wait… and wait… and wait. 15 more minutes. this WAITERNEVER came over… So I walked back over to the same bartender that told us to go on that side asked is that waiter the only one they had… he said yes… I told him its been over 20 minutes we been here and that waiter had yet to even take our drink order… so we just WALKEDOUT… if it was going to take over 20 minutes to order how long would it take to get the food… I WASEXTREMELYPISSED Off because the bartender didn’t even apologize that we been sitting there this long… I’M GOINGTOFOLLOWTHISUPWITHMANAGEMENTANDSEEHOWTHEYHANDLETHIS… ARETHEYCUSTOMERFOCUSORATETHEYTHETYPICALGAYRESTAURANTSTHATJUSTTAKETHEGAYCOMMUNITYFORGRANTEDANDJUSTGIVETERRIBLESERVICE …

My favorite bar ever! If i could give 10 stars it wouldn’t be enough. Wonderful staff, fabulous shows, and GREAT food with an awesome dance floor. Never had a bad time here! :D the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, love Sue, she always takes great care of the people who sit at her bar, and you never meet a stranger. Even the clientele are friendly because everyone is here to have a great time! :)

For food, I’ve only had their chicken tender appetizer and it was pretty tasty. I was surprised how much meat each tender had in each bite. Very impressed… I hope to try their steak dinner one evening. As for their drinks, the bartenders make strong drinks and the prices aren’t bad compared to BJ’s, Heretic, and Ten. The main reason I love Burkharts is the atmosphere. I don’t like the pretentious bars in the 10th and Piedmont intersection as the clientele can be very rude, but at Burkharts, I feel welcomed and the crowds are very diverse. Most people come to relax, hang out in the back patio area(which is fabulous, btw), watch the drag shows, and enjoy company. I’ve come to the bar by myself as I live a block away and I can’t tell you how many people will start talking to you. This is one bar that I love going to and I usually end up taking friends who are visiting from out of town to visit Burkharts.

Smoky old Gay bar, attended by myself and wife — who are both not Gay. Everyone was friendly and she enjoyed the food special that she ordered despite it taking quite a while to prepare. Tip: Don’t be too observant in the parking lot at night. There are things that go on there that you cannot unsee.

During my trip to Atlanta, I looked at reviews for gay bars that served food. We went at around 6PM, so it wasn’t very busy. In fact, we were the only table eating. Service was adequate, if not a little slow for things like refills, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. Our waiter was friendly, if not a little flirty. The food was delicious and cheaply priced, which is the real reason I enjoyed myself. We got a ton of food for what the end bill was. I’d recommend this bar for that reason. Good food at a good price.

We have been here once before to get the steak dinner special. At that time the food was quite good but the waiter was a space cadet and would disappear for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. That was a better experience than the one we just had at 8 o’clock on October 23. We sat at a table for over 20 minutes reading the menu and our presence wasn’t even acknowledged by the bartender, who was less than 10 feet away from us. He may not have been our server, but he could’ve told the server — wherever the hell the server was — that there was somebody out there who wanted some food. On the way out I stopped at the main bar and told the bartender there to tell the kitchen crew that we sincerely apologized for being so much trouble by sitting down and wanting food — at which point he replied«don’t take it out on me» I can’t imagine any restaurant where this type of behavior would be acceptable. I used to go to Burkharts on a regular basis. But not anymore.

I recently visited again just to see if improvements had been mafe since last review and was completely astounded to see the Owner Mary is still walking around in her Self Induced Cloud with absolutely no connection to reality or the world happening around her. If she had spit bubbles forming around her mouth Webster’s could use her picture above«Blubbering Idiot» Some Staff Has changed a lil. I recommend to the good staff to find new jobs before the association of employment here ruins your reputation and chances of being hired anywhere else. Burkhart’s Pub is well known for their spectacular drag queen shows and karaōke nights for gays and lesbians. Even though it is known to be a gay pub, there were many straight people there as well. This place has a very diverse, excited crowd that just wants to be entertained. I absolutely loved the drag shows, bartenders, and food. Everyone who worked at that pub made sure everyone was taken care of so there was not a wait to order anything. Overall this place was exciting, entertaining, and friendly. I cannot wait to tell others about this place!

Burkharts is a great place to hang out for gay guys and lesbians. As a lesbian, it’s hard to find good bars/clubs to go to that have a good guy/girl ratio. Burkharts has a good mix of people and plenty of space to hang out. On busy nights, it can be difficult to find a spot to watch the drag show, especially if you’re vertically challenged(I’m 5′ 2″). Their one claim to fame is that one of the drag queens, Phoenix, was on RuPaul’s Drag Race. You can always expect sassy one liners and crowd interaction. My friend was once squirted in the eye with a penis shaped water gun filled with vodka. There are 2 pool tables upstairs and in the back there are fire pits to hang out around if you want to escape the noise. Last time I was there they couldn’t turn them on though because a girl caught her hair on fire(yikes!). The only downside is that there is only one women’s restroom that always has a line(if there isn’t a line, is it really a women’s bathroom?).

I FINALLY made it(back) to to Burkhart’s! I thought I’d never been, but as soon as my Über turned into the lot, my memory raced back 15 years and it all came back to me. I digress. Oh what a night!!! First. FOOD. Let me tell you. I don’t know if they are really preparing this food on premises or running out to some 5 star spot on Peachtree to get it, but the FOOD was by FAR, one of the BEST meals I’ve had in a LONG time, and I eat out frequently. I had the filet mignon, baked potato, and side salad. Most delicious, PERFECTLY cooked steak in recentl memory, baked potato was so perfect that I didn’t even have to salt it, and the side salad was divine(spring mix, and NOT some funky clunky iceberg hunks). My plate was CLEAN when I was done. My friend had a steak dinner too, and completely agreed with me. Delicious meal. We’d come here JUST to eat. *******Yelp Tip: if you want to eat, get there and eat before 10:30pm; everything changes at that point, and they will come by and try to collect your barstool(with you on it) around this time******** The drinks are CHEAP. That’s nice. They aren’t particularly strong, but the bartender we had was very cute and sweet, I think his name might have been Ben. He had a light beard. Hey, for $ 5 a drink, whaddya expect? They also work. Let’s just say, I’m glad I Über’d. The DJ and music were ok. He played«Car Wash» by Rose Royce early in the night, and I almost became«the show». Apparently, there are two shows. There’s the first show earlier in the evening, like 10ish. That’s the one I like! There was this Eminem/Sam Smith cutie pie rapper guy on the floor, JTyler, and he was AWESOME! No, REALLY. If you had no visual, and only vocals, you’d be impressed. He reminded me of Nikki Minaj. His lyrics were sick. He was nice, too. Called out to me in the parking lot as I was leaving. He ended up winning the competition(thanks in part to my yelling and screaming and hooting and hollering), so I felt like I was the ish when he recognized me. There are drag queens GALORE here, so if that’s what you’re looking for, you’re in the right place. There were also two bridal party entourages in the house. Loved the MC. Her name was(). She was off the chain funny! You know, just natural humor. She did all of this with a broken toe, too. I didn’t go to the bathroom(who goes to bar bathrooms?), so I can’t attest to the cleanliness of it or lack thereof. Sorry. Just go, and have fun. I wore a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers– on a Saturday night. No fuss, no muss. I’ll be back!!!
