I see these are popping up everywhere. When I’m in NC visiting family, my sister loves to eat here. So I decided to give Cookout a try during my niece recent visit. It is always busy and the drive-thru is never without a car whenever I pass. Upon entering, we were jovially greeted by the front cashiers. With this being a new location, everything looks nice and pristine. We ordered the Cheddar Style burger, Onion Rings, Hushpuppies, Cheese and Chili Fries and milkshakes. They have a very cheap menu and now I understood the reason for so many college students being there. The food was nothing spectacular but it fulfilled its purpose. I prefer Dairy Queen Milkshakes. It was average food and an average experience.

«I do not want chicken fingers! I require duck feet!» — Jackie Chan Adventures: Season 3, Episode 3 Chicken fingers, corn dogs, hamburgers, all the fried foods! Cookout always seems like s good idea at 10pm when you are famished and it’s right there. But usually after you eat all that crappy fried stuff and world’s thickest milkshake, you feel like crap and it is all sitting like a brick in your stomach. For like $ 5, you can get an entrée with two«sides,» but the sides are things like chicken fingers and corn dogs. Not the healthiest options, to be true. But if you cannot decide between a hamburger or chicken fingers, you can have both. Why not? The shake flavor list is so long, it would take a week to read it all, so I usually just pick the peanut butter chocolate and move along. They are too thick to drink thru a straw at first, so ask for a spoon. This location is pretty neatly laid out — a double drive thru done right. Two ordering stations and two windows. Smart. But read the signs to avoid accidents. Cookout is AOK, a must at least once.

Nasty ass bullshit!!! After hearing so many good things about this place from my friends who live in Va, I just had to give it a shot. Bad idea. I wish I could remove the stars all together.

This is just another burger joint. They have a very polite staff(they are next to a new Chick-fil-a) and greet you with a smile. Fries and burger were great. I’d visit again. Nothing to write home about though. Location 4 Price $ Service 5

Wish we could do halvsies, but I will adjust my 4* for now. Might have been a wee bit over-excited on my first visit, but there will be plenty of future visits. Observations and opinions after lunch yesterday — Everything on the menu is really cheap — I didn’t realize that til I went inside and fully reviewed the menu board. Probably a significant reason they are always busy. We had a small burger, a regular burger, chx fingers, a large fry and one soft drink for $ 12 and change. Very large — and a little bit overwhelming– menu. Kind of induces the«I just gotta pick something before my brain overloads» sensation. I am a bit distrustful of this kind of menu so I will proceed slowly with future orders. Not that knowledgeable employees: Q «Is that iceberg lettuce?» A: «It’s fresh lettuce.» Good chicken fingers — your basic bar food kind so when in the mood, they work. The burger sizes are more confusing than I realized — there are four, starting with what’s basically a McD’s basic aka kiddie burger. I got the second(regular) size like before and it was big enough but overcooked a little more than last time(we all know FF burgers are not cooked to order so will be on the done side in general). I learned that the main difference btw sizes is the thickness of the patties not the size so decide accordingly. They do have lots of topping options and my friend enjoyed the bbq/sauteed onion. I am confused but curious about the $ 4.99 deal — your pick of two sides includes everything from fries(very good, btw and a large is a shareable way to control your indulgence) to a quesadilla — ?! That’s just… odd. Go early if you want to dine in during«lunch time» — we went at 1115 and walked right up to the counter. Our food came out just a few mins later and there was already a long line.
