Formerly a BP, I can’t say I’m a fan of this Texaco gas station in West Midtown. The fuel prices are high, the station isn’t very clean, the air machine doesn’t work well, and the parking lot floods when it rains. The only thing the station has going for it is its location, near Georgia Tech, Atlantic Station, and Westside Provisions District, at the busy and wonky intersection of Northside, 14th, and Hemphill. It’d be nice if all gas stations were like QuikTrip and offered free air. I spent about a couple bucks putting air into a nail-punctured, slow-leaking tire. The air machine was old and beat-up. The hose was dirty, the nozzle was worn, and the air didn’t shoot out at a very high rate, which meant it took a long time to adjust my tire’s pressure. Occasionally, panhandlers like to loiter or pass through the station. This can be annoying when you’re trying to fill up. Take my advice and go down Northside to 10th St. and visit at Marathon instead.
