Dough is now, sadly, closed for business. My heart is broken.

Being relatively new to Atlanta and a vegan, I was SO excited to find an excellent vegan brunch spot! Breakfast/brunch is one of the toughest meals to have out for us vegans so Dough was a delightful surprise. I LOVE the Dive Bar with the fabulous fried pickles(yes, I was skeptical about fried pickles for breakfast too but believe me…). My wife enjoys the Southern Benedict with«sausage’…lots of yummy spices. Your first time there may be a little confusing. When you get there, save a table, go on up to the counter and order then the fine Dough folks will bring you your goodies. Yum!

Sunday brunch here is awesome. I usually get the biscuit with egg, cheese, country fried steak and tempeh bacon.

Dough Bakery has become a weekend favorite of ours. The«sausage» and gravy biscuits are pretty amazing, and«the pile» is everything good about a potential heart attack inducing mound of food, but sans the heart attack and cholesterol. I am also a big fan of their breakfast biscuits in the cold case which are great when you’re on the go. If you stop by, always check for Pure Abundance cheese in the cold case as well. Both the Pan and Luna cheeses are divine.

I had some reticence about the best time to show up given the wait time horror stories of several other Unilocalers in the last few months. We ended up opting for a post 5:30pm trip on a Saturday, and parking was readily available both at Dough as well as all around the block up past One Eared Stag, a number of parallel parking spots available even as early dinner time settled in. Though we had looked at the menu online, we still weren’t entirely sure what we wanted when we walked into the spacious interior such that the short wait in which the staff helped the folks ahead of us actually bought us time while we examined our options on the menu board. I haven’t been able to satisfy my itch for a Veg* Reuben the last two years, and I was more than happy to find that Dough’s offering laid that hunger to rest. My wife was able to find similar gustatory satisfaction in her Dagwood with Tempeh Bacon, this monster sandwich so large that we had to take half of it back home for later snacking. The fact that the meats are sliced when you order can make for a little bit of a wait if you order a massive sandwich in the middle of prime time, especially if you find yourself surrounded by a number of other parties, so I don’t suppose I’d ever come in during typical lunch or breakfast hours; I expect staff would presumably be increased during these peak times. Just the same, I’m not going to put forth the effort at home to try and make my own mock meat such that this deli/bakery is certainly worth the wait for everything they had to offer. We picked up a marbled loaf, had a few meats sliced up for the rest of the week, and made off with a few cupcakes before it was all said and done, and I’m highly impressed with it all. I’ve not generally been a fan of meat substitutes since adopting a Veg* lifestyle, the transition to Veganism having put me even further off the idea in general, but the Gutenfleischers options were more than equitable in taste, texture and cost for the flavor profiles that they covered. We had a lot of questions on the particulars of various food items as it was our first time there, and the staff was quite accommodating and patient in their assistance. This establishment has done a fantastic job on the Vegan front, and while I’ve obviously not tried everything on their menu or been significantly held up in ordering, I can only read the low reviews and think that those submissions were from people that don’t appreciate geniality in service to others, or are of the new school of impatience with a mentality of immediacy that sours everything they do. So it goes. The space is cozy, the local art fun, and I eagerly look forward to future trips. Thanks Dough.

Dough is a great place for vegan treats! I love their desserts, premade breakfast sandwiches, and their vegan Sunday brunch. My omni boyfriend loves their cinnamon bun pancakes and whoopie pies. I have yet to try their milkshakes or sandwiches, but plan on doing so very soon.

I took a vegan friend here for a muffin the other day after passing the store on my bicycle a gajillion times. Everything here is vegan, which scared me initially. Apparently I was wrong. My friend had a muffin, and she gave me a bite. She said it was so good that she«couldn’t even tell it was vegan.» I call that pretty high praise. Still moist and flavorful. She really enjoyed it! The service here is SOBIZARRE. They have zero systems. Like zero. We waited at the counter for about 10 minutes before even ordering. People kept cutting us off, and the server just kept blabbing with random people. We eventually got our muffin and stood in another line. That one took another 5 minutes or so. Again, it took a really long time. It seemed pretty arbitrary when she decided to ring us up. It was like she placed enough orders to reach critical mass, so she just moved the line over. The guy behind us checked out first because that was when she decided to accept cash. Meanwhile, there was another server there just sort of lolling about. I wouldn’t want to sit in here for a prolonged period of time. The whole place feels a little grungy and dirty. I may bring my vegan friend back, but I wouldn’t ever come alone. I just shouldn’t have to wait 20 minutes for a cupcake. Come on, guys.

I love everything about dough. All items are vegan. No animal products! They make their own deli meats and during the holidays they have great items you can order. I recommend pre-ordering because if you snooze, you lose! On Sundays you can order their breakfasts. I usually get the southern Benedict which is an open biscuit with tofu scramble and country fried steak smothered with soysauge gravy. I order a side of potatoes and then a baked good from their daily selection. Also, Alex Gordon Hi-Fi is usually playing and you can pick up a cd for the ride home. I have 2! If you don’t make it on Sundays you can grab one of their biscuits from the fridge. They have a variety of biscuits to choose from. I like the sausage eggless cheeseless. If you come in after 11am you can order a soy milkshake. I recommend the vanilla with chick-o-stick! BUT you can also get chocolate, peanut butter or coffee with other add ins. The cinnamon rolls are delicious. I could probably eat tubs of the icing, but then I wouldn’t have room for everything else! The blueberry buckle cake is also highly recommended, as are the scones. Depending on day, you can get either chocolate chip, cranberry orange, or jalepeno cheddar. Don’t leave without a chocolate chip cookie! These are really good when they are fresh from the oven, but they do go fast! Some of their other amazing baked goods are the coconut macaroons, gluten free oatmeal chocolate cookies, hummingbird cake, blueberry muffins, zucchini bread, chocolate chip banana bread, and the list goes on! The deli serves some pretty amazing sandwiches as well. Check out their weekly specials!

I had driven by this place on my to work like a million times before I finally stopped in. It is a vegan deli/bakeshop. My absolute favorite thing is the Mexican chocolate chip cookie. It’s a little spicy, almost like a spice cake and it’s a little like a chocolate chip cookie. I can never resist having one if they are available when I stop in. Everything else I have tried: hummingbird cake, carrot cake and cupcakes, have been great. I have only tried the sweets here. Apparently they have breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, bread and other savory treats. I am looking forward to making my way through the menu and trying some of the savory items.

Their customer service is slack. One person working the counter and sandwich station. Four customers were waiting before she called for help. I’m writing this review while I wait«15 minutes«for them to make my sandwich. So this review is just on customer service. The food was just ok. I’m not anxious to go back.

Vegan deli with delicious sandwiches salads and baked goods 4 minutes away from my house? And EXTREMELY reasonable prices? 5 stars. Me, a vegetarian living 4 minutes away from this place and passing it on my way to work and never having tried it until tonight? 1 star.

I am not vegan but I went here because I was craving a cinnamon roll, which was so good! I also ended up ordering the chickpea salad(yum) and then a half«vegan» sandwich with cajun«meat» and some kind of fake cheese. The sandwich was interesting — not bad, but I would prefer a normal real meat and cheese sandwich. Overall this place is very cool and inventive!

Walked in around 5:30 and it was super dead. Being from out of state, service was super SUPER friendly and so helpful ! This dough bakery place is so cool. We don’t have anything like this back home in New Orleans, I mean a vegan Deli place?! That’s crazy cool! They had different types of meats out for you to make your own sandwich. So cool! I’m pretty lazy so I went ahead and chose the philly cheese steak special and got a side of Banh mi pasta(Vietnamese poboy flavor pasta). Oh my goodness, the pasta was so flavorful and hit the perfect heat! The Philly«steak» had the texture of real meat! How did they do that?! As for the bakery part of Dough’s, my hubby got a slice if their king cake with cream cheese icing. My gosh! The king cake was delish! It had it’s own little flavor that I’ve never tasted before! Coming from the city of king cakes, it totally took me by surprise. A punch in the mouth for my taste buds. I’ll definitely be back again soon to create my own sandwich !

It is with heavy heart I review this experience. First off I want to make it clear that I was completely unaware this was a vegan bakery. The side of the street I pulled in from did not have a proper display of the sign. I did notice the phallic looking logo and well, I mean, looks like a dong, folks! After perusing at the case for a minute or 3, I asked about bagels, was told no bagels, so I looked in a case to find 3 types of Biscuits, one was made with eggless something(oxymoron for?) Finally I asked where the bacon and egg biscuits were, and was promptly advised, both by patron and counter person, this was a vegan bakery. In my haste and not to feel rude towards them, I opted for some finger looking cookies since is October and Halloween is nigh… I brought to office and placed in the conference table, saved one for my boss. I failed to taste test. Boss took a bite and rolled up the napkin, I took a taste and this could have been sawdust for all we know. I tossed in its rightful place: Trash bin. checked back on the cookies about 4:00 p.m. no one laid a «finger» on them. If you are NOTVEGAN, you will most likely NOT enjoy this bakery, since they fail to use the most important ingredients which make up a proper dessert experience.(Meaning, this vegan shit is nasty)

My life was changed this past weekend. I am hoping my waistline doesn’t change quite as quickly, but after trying the vegan sweets at Dough I am not making any promises. It all started with a cranberry orange scone and ended with an iced sugar cookie… and there were nibbles of chocolate chip cookie, oatmeal cookie, and a banana whoopie pie in between. All were delicious! If I didn’t know better, I would of had to ask, «Is this vegan»? Luckily, Dough only serves vegan items. The service was great and the staff seemed just as excited about their pastry case as I was. They even have soft serve and milkshakes! I will definitely be back for those! In addition to the sweet treats, Dough offers Sunday brunch and lunch items. I have heard tale of biscuits and gravy! I have to say this is the beginning of a very sweet and savory relationship. Where have you been all my life?!

Holy vegan-awesomeness batman! I’m glad I found this place, the desserts + pastries are top notch(however there is always room for improvement in presentation). Pros: — free coffee refills — free wifi — friendly staff — serves ardens garden juices — free self-serve water — free library(!!!) — cheap, good pastries + desserts($ 3 for a slice of cake that you cannot finish) Cons: — parking could be a bit of a doozy — the atmosphere is set up a bit like a cafeteria All in all, this spot is a winner! I really like the vibe of the place and yes, could use a little improvement, but it’s still new and that’ll come! Everybody should try a vegan dessert, at least once.

After filling up my belly at neighboring One Eared Stag, I helped my belly digest everything by walking to Dough Bakery, which has long been on my bookmark list. William G. and Andria C. kindly joined me and as soon as we entered, we started peering around. I first wandered around to get an idea of what I would stock up with. I saw cinnamon buns, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, and coconut macaroons. I ended up with a vanilla cupcake with strawberry frosting, a few coconut macaroons for my bf, and a discounted cinnamon bun. We were quickly rung up and after saying our farewells, I headed to my car. I sat down and thought for a few seconds about what to do with that cupcake with the fluffy pink topping in the clear plastic cup(creatively, they package cupcakes in plastic cups upside down). Yeah, you know how this ended, right? I ate it. And it was delicious. Not quite up to par with some of my very favorite cupcakes in Atlanta, but it was very good nonetheless. Bf liked the macaroons and I later ate the bun and found it to be pleasantly not-too-sweet. I would not mind stopping by Dough Bakery at some future point.

Wow — this place is incredible! They have such an assortment of tasty baked goods. I had a pineapple upside down cake which I was expecting to be somewhat boring but it was absolutely delicious. I also had a sticky bun, which was really good. I got a chocolate cookie for the road but I found it to be a little overcooked. I also had a vegan sausage and biscuit sandwich with soy cheese, which was quite tasty. I was expecting to get a fresh biscuit or a pre-assembled sandwich heated up in the oven(it was like 10am, so it was breakfast time but apparently they just use the microwave to heat up the pre-made sandwiches. It was still good but would def have been better in the oven. The service was really good and the layout is really cute and comfortable. Next time in ATL, I expect to go here several more times!

As we tend to do nowadays when arriving in a new city, we went on a little ATL vegan food hunt. After a few missed turns(not blaming the navigator, but it wasn’t the driver’s fault for sure), we found Dough Bakery. We split a whatever the special was that night deli sandwich and a peanut butter shake. The sandwich was really good and definitely would be in my regular lunch rotation if i lived in the city. Shake was excellent as well. Service was friendly. They were none too busy on a Saturday late evening, although there were a few patrons in and out scoring some treats. Great one stop shop for food and dessert!

Went here when I was in town for a concert and this was a highlight of my trip. Like a typical vegan, I’m accustomed to my lowly two or three options on an average menu. The employees must be used to the deer-in-headlights look on the faces of us unsuspecting vegan patrons who stumble in their doors. It took me forever to decide, because I frankly wanted to try everything. I ended up sharing a peanut butter shake(!), sausage biscuit, mock chicken salad sandwich, and a moon pie. I thoroughly enjoyed them all– especially the milkshake. They have a ton of stuff you’ll wanna try, so I’d recommend allowing Dough to supply two meals for you. Or maybe you won’t morph into a crazed Pacman like I did. but just in case. Also, take a moment to appreciate the veg humor cartoons on their walls.
