First time here. Never even heard of the spot but hey! Whatever. Ummm my closet is bigger but it got packed within 30 minutes of me getting here and the DJ (forgive me. Idk her name. It’s some fye white girl tho) is jammin! Soooo all is well. Oh. Got in about 10:50. No cover when I walked through. Drinks are like $ 4-​$ 7 too. And reallllll casual place. You can wear heels if you just have nothing else to wear. OR you can wear sweat pants. They don’t care.

Location: Off Ponce De Leon, North Wast Atlanta area.

— Positives: Great Djs! Very intimate, different crowds every night.
— Negatives: Slightly small when it’s super lit.

Bartender supposed bar manager. Rude and disrespectful! Matter fact I think the issue was a result of you being a racist B*tch! You don’t like your job get a new one. It’s obvious you work at the wrong establishment. Your were disgusting. The owner should be ashamed. I would imagine your tips were a result of the poor service you provided. To the brown haired, white tank shirt, jean shorts bar servant, U Suck!

Definitely a dive bar but a cool spot. Will come back. The night I went wasn’t as packed on a Wednesday.

The best time I’ve had, EVER! Only found this spot because we intended to go to MJQ, only to discover they were closed for renovations when we got there! Since we’re new to the area, a quick Google search of places nearby led us here. Let me tell you, we danced, drank, and smiled from the time we walked in, until the last song was played. The dance floor gets really packed, so most of your dance moves are limited to bobbing your head, swaying side to side, and throwing your hands in the air. Awesome atmosphere! Solid drink prices and drink specials.

Entry is depended on your race & color. We all walked away as soon as bouncer said «we are full capacity» to group ahead of us then let 5 people behind then in. Enjoy the selective service they provide.

I had a lot of fun here. The DJ was great and so were the drinks. Also, the drinks were only like $ 6…that’s rare in Atlanta. This isn’t the place to come and «see and be seen»…I came in what I wore to work and didn’t feel out of place. Just come as you are. The crowd was pretty mixed. It’s not the hugest place and it can get croweded but overall a great time. I look forward to going back.

If you love diversity and being able to dance freely with no worries of what others may be thinking of you, this is the place! I came here about two weekends ago and it truly was one of the best nights I’ve had in a while. Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to have a good time.

I hate this place! It’s too small and the hate how the security isn’t very good. I had my birthday party there and the way this place is ran especially when it comes to bathrooms is horrible! I will never go back again. I believe security needs to have a certain shirt that separates them from the rest. I will NEVER go back to this place again until they fix their shit! Drinks were weak but the beer was good… that’s only cause it was in a can.

I HATE this place! It’s tiny! The security is terrible! There are 2 bathrooms for both men and women that are DISGUSTING! The bartenders (it was one girl serving me the entire night so I can not speak for all of the employed bartenders) was terrible. Not friendly, long wait. Intolerable drink. And I do enjoy a stuff drink! Not to mention I have been bar tending for 6 years. I know and understand a good drink! First time here for a birthday, never again! Nor will my party attend this sorry excuse for a bar. Extremely disappointed…

The drinks very priced great however kinda weak. The music was EPIC I mean every song was great. If you like hip hop from 90s to now you’ll like it too. It was just great, only downside was parking which was sooo limited but worth the wait.

I love this place! I have only been once and I can’t wait to get back there soon. I live for dive bars that feed my fancy vibe!
The location is a little difficult to find. I didn’t see a sign from the street however there is a sign for the restaurant «El Ponce». Drive around the back and the entrance is downstairs in the back.
Upon walking in you will notice it has quite the dive bar vibe. There is a chalkboard with drink options on the other side of a very small dance floor. There are a few seats off to the side (wear comfy shoes).
The music in this place was on point! Drinks were cheap. And to top it off, they serve mini champagne bottles for $ 6! Tell me that wouldn’t make you feel fancy ;)

This place is great for groups. It’s the perfect «HOLE IN THE WALL» place. The dress code is super low key. I can wear my Chucks out to this place. The music is alway great. I have been there on a Thursday and Saturday. On a Saturday there was $ 10 cover but it was worth it. You get your $ 10 worth of dancing on the dance floor. They have a full bar and drinks are reasonably price. It’s a small space and get’s packed quick. I would recommend bringing cash for the cover. They do accept cards inside. The music is great a good mix of rap, hiphop and some R&B mixed 90s, 2000s and current. This is definitely a spot I will be coming back too.
Don’t come in here wearing 6 inch heels and a short dress. You will stand out.

Went here this past weekend and we had a BALL!!! This place is a tiny, no frills, hole in the wall-​but it is FANTASTIC. It the necessitites: a bar, a dj, and restrooms. The music was a great mix of 90’s hip hop and current hits. There was a great mix of people here-​everyone looking to have a good time! Drinks are really cheap and strong. We will for sure be back!
On a side note: If you are looking for a place to see and be seen, this is not for you. If you want to pop bottles and wear your best club attire, this place is probably not for you. If you want to pay a million dollars for «VIP» treatment, this place is not for you. It’s a, come as you are and have a great time, chill spot.

I love this place. I meet some of the most interesting people here. It’s hidden behind a Mexican restaurant. I usually go early so parking is ok for me. Parking is free, also. The music is great hip hop, rap & I dance like there’s no tomorrow. They have super strong drinks available with great specials. You’ll have an awesome time!

I love el bar fridays because Speakerfoxxx and Cristodisco are some of the best djs around. They mix new and old music so effortlessly and everyone inside is gettin down by the end of the night.
The only thing missing is a huge fan in the corner cooling us off because it gets hot in there but when I go home soaked in sweat I know I had a good time.

Get drunk before you come in. Dance like a moron. Have a solid Saturday night.
This place just reminds me of college. It’s like a dive club. Be prepared to make it nasty.
Also, the bartenders are outstanding.

Let me first say… if you want to go hear great hip hop and rap music, dance like no one is watching, and have a ton of fun… go to El Bar.
I’ve been to El Bar several times on Friday and Saturday nights. Every time I have a ton of fun. It is a small place with a variety of people in the crowd which I love. It reminds me of partying when I was in undergrad. Music is always good and makes you dance the night away.
Last night I took a group of 12 girlfriends as the final part of our Ladies Night Out. I told them how much fun it would be and when we left they all agreed it was. We got there around 10:30 and had time to enjoy the space, get drinks, and dance before it started getting crowded.
Even when it is crowded you will have fun. No one is a stranger and everyone is having a great time.
Only con is that people can smoke in there.

Nuts and bolts: Went for a friend’s birthday celebration. The bar is located just below El Azteca. If I had not gone with my friend, I would have never known that this place existed.
Pros: Nice atmosphere. Good music. Plenty of parking. Great music.
Neutral: Like El Azteca above– strong drinks. Which again, can be a pro for some and con for others.
Cons: Way crowded! But I suppose that shows how popular it is.
