First off, the service over the phone is really below par. We called to order for pick up. We wanted to order the Lunch Special Makimono but for pick-up orders, they refuse to give you soup AND salad. They state it on the bottom of the menu that they will only include soup but the prices are the same. This might be a tactic so that customers sit in instead of order pick up, but it just turned me off to the place completely. One of our orders on the Makimono was to double up on one of the rolls instead of ordering two different rolls. They refused to take this order, stating that it HAS to be two DIFFERENT rolls. This just seems so ridiculous and what logic is there to it? Anyway, onto the food review. The rolls were very small and the flavors were very bland. The spicy tuna did not have a kick, and the rice was very cold. I don’t have a problem with the size of the roll since I actually prefer a smaller roll, but combined with the experience we got service-wise, and the lack of flavor of the rolls, I’m not impressed with this establishment at all. OH, and the to-go order did not have any soy sauce! We were not happy.

Went back for my birthday and hands down best sushi in Atlanta. Yes better than Umi, Hayakawa, MF and the rest.

Hoki sushi was a pleasant surprise. The prices are inviting and the Caribbean Roll and the Hoki Lobster Roll were very good. I’ll def be returning.

Pretty good lunch sushi. Their specials are the only reason to come here for lunch. And although the rolls wasn’t phenomenal, the fish was fresh and sufficed. Service was spot on. I live far from here so it’s not something I’d go for unless I’m in the area.

Must say, this is one of my top 10 places to eat. I come here on regular and I will keep coming as long as Hanna(the waitress) provide me with a nice hot fragranced towel to cleanse my hands. The pictures I’m providing, tells it all. The service is excellent and the food is Great. I leave here every week with with a smile on my face because there is finally a sushi spot that gives me All.

I wasn’t expecting the caliber of fish that I actually received. We came here on a Monday and the place was quite packed for dinner, so come early! It’s a small place, so don’t come with more than 4 people; it would be a bit cluttered. When’s the last time someone brought you a hot towel for your hands? I can’t remember. This was a very well received touch. The towel was fragrant too! So the food — we ordered three rolls: Angel Fish, Blue Lagoon, Rainbow I’m not crazy about the crab meat, so I passed on the latter two, but my guests who ordered them thought they were great. I was happy with my Angel Fish. The fish was VERY good. It tasted fresh, well cut and very flavorful if you like a bit of heat. The rice wasn’t super starchy and didn’t feel or taste old. Just right. Don’t expect loud music or extreme décor(e.g. Ra Sushi in midtown), but expect a quiet nook that serves great fish and is clean.

Excellent food. Spicy tuna was great and so was the Snow White roll. Small place, but food is excellent. I heard multiple guests saying the same about the food. Yum!

The place is small and clean. Customer service quick and friendly. Sushi fresh and tasty. We ordered veggie gyoza. It was a little plain. Nothing exceptional. I got the beef teriyaki bento. The beef was a little tough but sauce was pleasant and savory. It wasn’t bad but could of been beaten a bit to break down the connective tissue. The box was lacking veggies big time to balance all the protein. My husband ordered the lunch combo with two sushi 13 dollars. Not bad. He got spicy tuna and spicy yellow tail. Also ordered the Snow White roll that had sea bass. Why I give this place 5 stars is because when I ate the sushi, it was so fresh and clean. It was such a good balance of fish, rice, and other inners. Nothing over powered the other. I was left after each bite was the thought«wow I want another». I definitely recommend this place for its raw sushi and fantastic customer service. Try it out. You won’t be disappointed.

This is some of the best sushi I’ve had in Atlanta. I got the tuna roll, avocado roll, and salmon roll and they were all delish! The ramen is good also! Can’t wait to come back!

Is it Hokey to like HOKI? :) Sorry, I had to! Well, I did. Did I LOVEHOKI? Well, not LOVE per say but I did thoroughly enjoy them. I’m a big fan of customer service so when I’m greeted as I walk into the establishment, shown to my table in a timely fashion, greeted by my server and paid attention to throughout the meal, I am already a happy camper regardless of how the food is. HOKI accomplished all these things and the sushi was also pretty good. I must admit, I’m not the BIGGEST sushi lover(although my wife is). But I like a good roll every now and then – mostly of the fried and cooked variety… I know… judge me if you must. So, I ordered a super crunch roll with shrimp and the T.N.T. roll which was snow crab, avocado, shrimp tempura and scallions. Both rolls were delicious although my TNT was a bit salty. Also, our appetizer, Shrimp Gyoza, was very good. I was pretty happy with it. Two notes: The restaurant is very small, I can imagine they get crowded at times. Also, it was super dark inside, as you can probably tell from my photos, but I guess it adds to the whole ambiance of the place?

Ok I looked for a great sushi experience in Atlanta and Hoki does it. I asked the sushi man to make me his fave sushi. And he made one piece of amazing sushi. He let me try many different sushi that he liked. O m g the best. Love this place!!! A real gourmet experience. A plus. New visit. yum!!!

Small, cozy place, attentive service and delicious food. That pretty much wraps it up and anything after that would be redundant. Plenty of parking, free, in front.

EXCELLENT!!! Everything I had here was amazing! Hoki Lobster Pink Lady Spider Web Super Crunch TNT The place was very busy when we arrived but considering it’s size(small) that’s not that hard. Every table was full so we say at the sushi bar. The service was slow but everybody was very kind. After the restaurant cleared it seemed that the servers were more concerned with cleaning up than taking care of the guest that they still had. So I did feel that we were neglected but the food made up for all of this. Everything else was so perfect it really didn’t matter. I can’t wait to return! New favorite sushi place. Anytime I’m in the area this place will always considered!

Meals away from home I rely heavily on Unilocal.I was not steered wrong. Last night I had grilled salmon with rice. Perfect! Tonight I am having the holo lobster roll, tnt roll, and ruby red roll w added jalapeño. Amazing taste. Fresh fish and quality flavors. Picture does not do food justice but after a long day, I just want to eat and crash. Definitely recommend!!!

I could write a 3 page essay on my multiple experiences here, but sometimes the most exceptional places need only a simple explanation/review. 1. I would fly across the world to come eat sushi here. 2. Their sushi is so good, it has ruined every other sushi place in the world for me(you have been warned). 3. Hoki Sushi absolutely deserves a Michelin star. ‘Nuf said!

I’ve never really thought about any sort of ranking of sushi, since living in Atlanta, it’s almost always ranking of stuff like barbecue, tacos, beer and coffee joints that sit at the forefront of most comparison debates. But now that I’m thinking about sushi, I’d have to say that Hoki, just might hold a legitimate argument to being the best I’ve had, at least within the greater Metropolitan Atlanta area. They’re located in a shopping center with a Kroger, just beyond the catastrophic dining district of Old Vinings as well as the chaotic Cumberland Mall and surrounding options. Parking is shared within the entire lot; it’s not impossible to get a spot, but it might necessitate some walking. Entering Hoki, they’re definitely doing their best to appear high-end and classy, and frankly I think they succeed pretty well. It’s not a large establishment by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s a very sophisticated décor and ambiance, and I don’t feel appropriate to speak in too high of a volume there. The menu is not large by any means, which I interpret as that they better be good at what they do have, and my friends didn’t have any objections to what they had ordered. As for myself, I was in the mood for sushi, so sushi is what I ordered. As far as prices go, it was slightly higher than another sushi restaurant that I occasionally visit, but honestly, when it came out, I felt that the cost was warranted. Tuna, is my favorite, and the tuna served at Hoki was as red as rubies and as fresh as could be. Needless to say, I devoured every morsel of food on my elaborate sushi tray, and I was content without feeling gluttonous. It was a little bit of a nuisance to get someone to split our checks, but that’s trite, and probably could’ve been avoided if my party were up front about it, so I’m not going to ding them for that one. Overall, I was very pleased with my Hoki experience. The location is conveniently just outside of the more hectic and busy dining areas, and it’s a cozy and sophisticated feeling establishment with top-notch product. As far as ranking goes, Hoki is definitely top-2, in terms of what I’d say is best sushi in Atlanta.

Well, just because of the restaurant’s name, I give 5 stars(look at my name!). Anyways, I have been there for lunch whenever my mentor is in town from Pittsburgh. Lunch absolutely rocks! The $ 11 bento looks small, but it did fill me up. My mentor had rolls and she requested we meet here every time. Disclaimer: I wish I am the owner so I can eat here all day long.

Sorry to be the scrooge of lower reviews but if you want truth and my experience, this is my rating and review. Hoki is located in the Kroger shopping center off Cobb Pkwy. I’ve only noticed Hoki since I’ve gone to Thai Diner several times before. Since the weather has gotten colder and I wanted something soupy, decided to head to Hoki with a coworker. She said the sushi was really good but I opted to try the udon soup. There was also ramen but I prefer udon over ramen. Hoki is such a small restaurant. It was crowded when we got in. Ginger salad and miso soup were complimentary. I did not like the ginger salad. The dressing was very watery and not pleasant to me. I didn’t even take more than two bites and I’m done. The miso soup is very tasteless too and only took a few sips to taste. Udon soup came out fast. To me, it was very bland. The only good thing was the one tempura shrimp I got. Other than that, I didn’t finish the udon soup either. Service is not bad but nothing stood out. Overall, very disappointed. I will not be coming back. Japanese food is more expensive than most Asian food.

Not a good spot for those of us that love cooked sushi, but good for those that love raw sushi. PARKING: it’s in a shopping center with Kroger and other little restaurants, so it’s free parking. However, finding a spot near the restaurant can be difficult since so many restaurants and kroger share 1 parking lot. AMBIANCE: the inside of this place is TINY! Definitely do not recommend for large groups. Place is so small that we can early clearly what people sitting right beside us were talking about. Also, the waiter we had was not too helpful. She only came by our table 2x throughout the entire evening. FOOD: we ordered their fried okra for appetizers and tried 2 different types of rolls. We were not impressed. We were deeply disappointed that they did not have more cooked sushi options. OVERALL: very tiny sushi restaurant with limited seating, little privacy from other patrons, ok parking. May give this place 1 more try. However, I am weary of the overwhelming high rating for a mediocre place… suspicious.

Me and my friend actually found this place through Unilocal.I saw they were 4 ½ stars and we agreed to give it a go. The location isn’t grey but that’s no fault to the business. It’s located in a little valley next to a Kroger. The parking was ungodly but not terrible. The place itself was very beautiful actually. Not to many people, nice music, and beautiful arrangement of chairs. I was wondering why Unilocal said to call for reservations, it’s because I’m sure at night they are packed because the seating was very limited. So take heed and call. The menu was a little bland, but the beautiful waitress was very helpful in answering any questions we had and making suggestions to what we preferred. I got the makilo dinner. Comes with 26 rolls of your choice of sushi, soup and salad. I also got an order of sushi rice. The sushi rice was OMG amazing: it wasn’t hit regular rice which is what I thought it was, just with a different name, they actually infuse the seaweed with the rice. No grain was left! The sushi(which I’m always a skeptic about) was delicious! My date and I both agreed that out of the majority of sushi places we have enjoyed, this ranked in the top 3. Even the salad was amazing! They use some type of orange citrus dressing that I would but by the bottle if they had it. Originally I didn’t think it was going to be enough but it was 100% filling. If you are in the area and looking for some good sushi, do it! Oh and 21+ lol the lady didn’t even ID me. The hot saki was just what I needed. The price in total was very well! $ 37.90 for two complete meals. Don’t be a stranger here! I even got a business card and showed it to this girl at Victoria’s Secret. !!!
