I should have known better. It was completely empty when I went in. I ordered the ribs but they brought me brown stew chicken because apparently they had run out. The chicken had to have been sitting out all day and then microwaved for me. My friend ordered the chicken curry wrap and french fries. The curry wrap was flavorless and the fries were quite gnarly tasting. Who messes up fries? Definitely never ever ever going back.

If Unilocal would let me give a restaurant a 0 stars it would go to this place. DONOT Go HERE. There are so many other Caribbean places in Atlanta that are so much better. We arrived 8:30 on a friday night. Place was fairly packed so we thought it looked promising… it wasn’t. To begin… our waitress was a total air head. It took her over 30 minutes to take our order. By the time she finally came to our table to take our order we were kind of annoyed. They were out of EVERYTHING on the menu. They were out of all the chicken dishes and half of the meat dishes. They said Ox tail would be ready in less than an hour so my b’f ordered that with cabbage, our friend ordered curry shrimp and i ordered curry tofu with rice and pea and mac n cheese. After we order a band comes on… I don’t know what kind of speaker system they used but it sounded horrible(all we heard was wa wa wa) and it was turned up WAY to high. When the band got off they stage i guess the restaurant thought it was a good idea to play some music. They were playing hip hop and rnb LOUDER than the band on the same crappy speakers. I started to get a migraine from the loud music and lack of food. So… after TWO hours of waiting we were wondering when is a good time to just pay for the drinks and go. About this time the waitress comes out and says the Ox tail is ‘finally’ ready… mind you its 11 and the band has already been on twice. So we decide to stay thinking our food is coming right out. Thirty minutes later… food still has not arrived. The waitress comes and say we get a free round of drinks for waiting. My friend begs for food… literally. She guarantees us that the food will be out by the time the drinks arrive. Our drinks came right up but we still waited another 15 for our food. While we were waiting our waitress did come out of the kitchen to tell me they were out of mac n cheese. I had seen at least THREE people around us with bowls full of mac n cheese. Needles to say i was not happy. She comes back a minute later to say they are out of rice and peas. At this point it is like ok whatever just bring us our food. We get our food… My boyfriend liked his Ox tail but the cabbage was gross(i tried it) My tofu and curry was gross. The curry had NO flavor and somehow it got worse mixed with the INSTANT rice. The fried okra was not that bad tho My friend had the same opinion of his shrimp curry as i did with my tofu. So basically this was over three hours of wasted time.

Took my wife last night for the first time to see C.C. Laflor perform, eat and have some drinks. Arrived about 7:50pm, seated myself. Nice cozy spot, but hot as hell. Fans were blowing warm air and we were sweating the whole time. Even the performer complained doing her set. However, I must say the food was excellent. I had curry chicken, rice and peas, plantains and corn bread… all piping hot but we had to wait a long time to get it. My wife had tilapia, rice and peas and candied yams. The music was good, although the lighting could be better for the stage. Parking was free which was a plus. I’d give them another try but they need to get some A/C!

My husband and I went Saturday for dinner. We ordered Oxtails, Ribs, Rice, Mac & Cheese, Jerk Chicken, Candid Yams and Black eye peas. The servings plentiful and we had to carryout. Great food! The scenery is a cozy little nook. Norcross Ga

My wife and I returned to Ilan Breeze this afternoon with the hopes of having a better experience and updating my review from the 1 star I gave them on 6÷2… Scoutmob says they open at 12 today, but when we got there at 2:30 the doors were locked and we saw the hours posted outside. Today’s hours were listed as 3pm-8pm. We were starving but we were determined to give them a second chance so we decided we would walk to another place to have a drink and appetizer while we waited for Ilan Breeze to open. We saw another place on the same block that was also listed on Scoutmob called My Sisters Room Bar & Grill(I’ll be posting a review on that place next. Scoutmob should have told us it was a Lesbian bar! Lol). We actually hung out and ate some fried pickles and had a Tequila Sunrise and killed about an hour. At approximately 4pm, we headed back over to Ilan Breeze. We figured this was ample time for them to begin their prep and prevent another issue with food availability like the last time. Would you believe that when we went back an hour after their posted opening time they were still not open??? I stood in disbelief looking at the locked door and I tried to see in between the blinds. We spent about 5 – 10 minutes sitting in the car looking for our next destination online and rode past Ilan Breeze one last time with the hope of seeing them turning on the open sign. No such luck, unfortunately. We headed to Metro Fuxon instead. This is twice and my wife said they will not get a third chance with her. I had really high hopes for this place and I MAY give them another chance, but I doubt if it’s any time soon. It’s sad that a new business wouldn’t take more pride in servicing their customers and being available at their stated times. So sad…

What’s funny is that I am the person who created this Unilocal profile soon after Ilan Breeze opened. I had just eaten there with my mother and was ready to give this a 5-star review. Hallelujah! Yummy foodness! Awesome, friendly service! I had gotten 10 lemon pepper wings which were plump, juicy, and really just perfect. I also ordered some sort of fried fish filet(maybe catfish) and fries tat were not as good as the wings but pretty good. The mom got ribs, corn bread and some other side. The ribs and Mississippi sauce that they brought over were quite delicious. And I am a ribs guy! I’ll judge a place by their ribs alone. The cornbread was amazing and the side was good too, whatever it was since this was a couple of months ago, I can’t remember everything. Note to self: I need a start a Doogie Howser diary or something. And again the service was incredible being run by a family who all wants the place to succeed. I felt that vibe and was juiced up by it as well. I want the place to succeed, especially since it’s in my neighborhood. I saw a lovely future of me going back once a week — a place I called my go-to eaterie. Where they knew my name, gave me special seating and service. Oh we were gonna create some great memories, just you and me kid. I craved this arrangement. Another note to self: get a hobby. Also, this place appealed to my sense of value. I don’t know if it’s still in effect, but from 4−8p they had/have this amazing deal. The wings were only 35 cents each and the fish basket was $ 5. The rib meal was $ 10 for the half rack and two sides. Plus $ 5 drinks, which I imbibed next time I went and were quite tasty! Man oh man did they hit on all cylinders. OK, so I went back the next week with a friend. The food took exceptionally long for which my assertive friend scored us a free drink each. The service was still great and we liked them trying to appease us, but when the food finally came in about 50 minutes, it was mediocre at best. My friend said her dish was average, but my ribs were chewy in a bad way. The sauce was still great but the chewy ribs kind of made it not the best experience. I’ve been back two other times, most recently was 2 weeks ago. My friend liked her jerk chicken plate and mac and cheese. Again I tried the ribs but this time I went for the full rack. Well this time the food came extra fast, almost worryingly fast. Like-you-know-maybe-the-food-was-already-cooked-beforehand-fast. The ribs were terrible — WAY overcooked, not a lot of meat, and yeah just way overdone. So yeah, I think the rapidity confirmed my bad omen feelings. On top of it, this plate was $ 22. They brought only 9 ribs pre-cut on my plate, and again, these weren’t meaty to begin with. My jaw dropped when the waitress brought them over — I even asked if this was indeed the full rack because it seems like ½. So not only did the ribs pretty much suck, but I wasn’t even satiated and on top of it paid $ 22. The only reason I didn’t get more upset was at least I got 50% off with the Scoutmob. So sadly, this is not yet my go-to eaterie yet. I have faith that it can be and I think for a new place, the consistency you’d expect is on par with averages. So for it being a fairly new place, I think the 3-star rating is appropos. Glad I didn’t jump the gun and rate it after that first visit. The décor is great by the way and I am pulling for them. Just get more consistent and you may see me more consistently :)

Went here yesterday after seeing it on Scoutmob. I can’t believe this place was not even open. There was a piece of paper that read use this door but it was locked. There was no parking and oddly they were supposed to be open until 8pm. Hell I was there at 5:30, I called and the voicemail is not even for this place. WTH dont waste your time.
