excellent venue with fascinating art in all forms: photography, sculpture, and glassworks. many varied exhibit shows throughout the year. bob burkhardt is an excellent photographer that painlessly assisted me in constructing my new modeling portfolio from 350 pictures that he shot. exceptional photographer to work with.

Attended an opening recently. It’s a cramped space with a pleasant staff and decent prints. Parking sucked, though.

I checked out Alex Leopold’s bright, visually popping show kick-​off at PB&J last night. The small gallery probably seemed even tinier to me since both rooms brimmed with attendees seeing and being seen, and noshing on hummus and pita chips.
My opinion of galleries is 98% swayed by the art being displayed at the time, and I’m a big fan of Alex as a person and his work. One of his several foot-​high pieces features this Drive-​By Truckers lyric: «Daddy used to empty out his shotgun shells and fill ‘em full of black-​eyed peas.» My kind of man; my kind of art.

This place is a rather small space. Sometimes I think people should be prepared for that, and with it being small, I can’t imagine what it would be like at full capacity. You almost have to avoid bumping into some artwork as you maneuver the space.
The artwork is good not great. The photographs are good not great, very likable but not envelope pushing, but this is Atlanta so it fits the bill. It’s often nice to see black and whites that make you go Hmm…
But they are affordable and the staff is warm and welcoming.

Very cool art gallery in Kirkwood. Very affordable for those who want unique original art but can’t afford high prices. Get on their e-​mail list to get invited to special art openings.

Aptly named PB&J isn’t the most gourmet fare available in Atlanta, but if you’re in the mood for something tasty, familiar, and accessible to everyone, the artwork here hits the spot.
Run by three artists — Peggy, Bob and Jack — PB&J is a small, well-​organized space with a variety of paintings, photographs, prints, and sculptures from themselves and other local artists. Work is affordable — I saw smaller photographs starting at $ 25, and larger framed ones available for $ 150 or less. All three owners were present when I stopped by for an opening on Friday night, and they were as welcoming and friendly as the space that they’ve created.
Sidenote: until July 18^th, Thomas Burns’ Vintage Atlanta Travel prints are the featured show. Thomas is a good friend and his work is great, full of character and charm. Highly recommended!
