I had the pleasure of joining my closest friends at Porkman’s Table this past Sunday evening. Being a vegan, I don’t get many choices when I eat out. Ben did a special vegan themed menu just for us vegans in the crowd! Talk about a treat! Each course was better than the previous! My favorites were the fried okra and the dessert– which included an olive oil pistachio cake and avocado ice cream! Delicious! The cocktails… AMAZING! I would HIGHLY recommend paying Ben and his lovely entourage a visit! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Ben helped me to organize a surprise birthday party event for 10 of us on Saturday night. He was extremely responsive and even created a great invite gently poking fun at the birthday boy. The menu was perfect and the cocktail pairings were amazing. Ben, his sous chef Payne, Whitney, Emily were the best hosts. They were very attentive and down-to-earth. The food was incredible. The guests were served sweet corn pancakes and avocado cream while they waited for the birthday boy and me to arrive. For dinner, we had summer pea soup with pickled ramps and champagne panna cotta to start. The dish was served so creatively. For dinner, we had herb rubbed steak with paprika butter and shaved asparagus and squash, and goat cheese, walnut and arugula tortellini as a vegetarian option. It was absolutely delicious. The cocktails were incredible and complemented each course wonderfully. The warm chocolate chip cookies(Payne’s creation) received rave reviews, even from one friend who is an avid baker. I dreamt about them. PorKman’s Table donates all profits from the dinners to charity, which was an added bonus to a perfect evening. If you have not yet signed up for their mailing list and attended a Fight the Fright Sunday night dinner, you are missing out. I would ask Ben and his team to host another event in the future without any hesitation.

A feast fit for a king’s appetite. A level of service the Queen herself would admire. And a fun atmosphere to keep the Court Jester in your party happily entertained. Yes, you’ll get the royal treatment when you dine at Porkman’s Table. My first meal was themed for Father’s Day. The 7 of us lucky enough to reply quickly for the limited seating table enjoyed 4 courses expertly created and smartly paired with mixed drinks concocted just for the evening. Ben and his Band of Merry Kitchen Staff change the menu for each meal event. But, it is sure to be prepared with equal parts inspiration, sound culinary practice, visual appeal and sophisticated palate-pleasing notes. As wonderful as I’m making this all sound(and it is) you’ll be in a comfortable, casual setting where you’ll feel right at home in shorts and sandals. They serve food with a genuine passion that fills the air as much as the terrific aromas and the whole experience is very approachable. Get on the email list and maybe I’ll see you at an upcoming event!(And ask about their new carry-out service starting soon, personalized cooking classes for kids or grown-ups and catering for those times you really want to knock someone’s socks off — tied shoelaces or not.)

Porkman’s table is an AWESOME experience that I would recommend to any and everyone. I heard about it from an UrbanDaddy email blast. I’m always up for trying new things so I thought I would give it a shot and I’m very glad I did! The food was amazing. The menu changes from week to week but it is always a four-course meal. My favorite dishes were the bourbon-seared steak and truffle grits. Both were delicious and I went back for seconds and thirds. Food was paired with great wine and cocktails. I can go on and on but I will just say, hands-down, this was some of the best food that I have tasted in Atlanta. More than great food, Porkman’s table is a fun experience. Although, you are sitting around a 10-person table with complete strangers, oddly enough, it isn’t awkward or uncomfortable at all. Ben and his staff are great hosts and really make you feel at home. Some people brought dates, a few were single. I brought my girlfriend. However, I would not recommend this as a first date spot. Because you are sitting around a table full of strangers, it is not the most intimate setting. Overall, for around $ 50 a person, I would call this a bargain in Atlanta. Plenty of great food, more than enough good drinks for a Sunday night, and a really cool experience to top off a weekend.

Attended a Fight the Fright Supper Club dinner one Sunday, as well as their Super Bowl Extravaganza. To sum it up, the food was incredible, the company was entertaining and the experience will not to be forgotten. Five stars for Porkman’s Table.

I was extremely impressed by this dinner. It’s like an underground supperclub, which is ultimately where a chef prepares a multi-course meal at the location of their choosing and you dine with strangers. The relaxed professionalism from the chefs and server made everyone at ease and there was rarely a quiet moment at the table of 10 diners(which consisted of four separate groups). The home was inviting, the food was incredible and the drinks were unique/paired deliciously. I daresay I left there with a few new friends. It’s an all around great dining experience for anyone with even a slight amount of adventure and/or foodie in them.

I’d only recommend this place if you like amazing food, delicious cocktails, great times, and even better people. If you hate any of those things, then I’d probably check out some boring, bland new restaurant in town. But if you’re looking for something different(this place is a «restaurant» in Mr. Portman’s house, so only a limited amount of people can attend every Sunday, and he makes very unique, amazing dishes and cocktails and caps the night by having all guests try to chug champagne out of some weird vase thing — reminds me of the Beerfest boot chug), then I highly encourage you to try to get a spot reserved. The chef and his associates are amazing people too, so it’s an all around awesome experience!
