Great tacos, right in between your normal street taco and the overpriced fancy stuff that leaves a lot to be desired. Guacamole was chunky and tasted good, but served with soft tortillas instead of fried, which was different. Empanadas were very good as well. Love the variety and unique menu from Rreal tacos!

Love this spot in Midtown! I’ve only been for lunch, but have had great experiences both times. Great menu with several a la carte options. I went with some of the traditional eats– tacos! I’ve enjoyed the Adobe Chicken and Fish tacos, both on corn tortillas — with the option of swapping to flour or whole wheat ones. Sides of guacamole and roasted sweet potatoes were both tasty. Also, they feature traditional drinks such as Agua Frescas, Horchata and bottled sodas. Since I was on the clock, was not able to enjoy their alcoholic beverages — beer, wine, margaritas, mojitos, and sangria. Menu changes, uses local ingredients and has many gluten-free and veggie friendly items. Keep It Simple Combo is 2 tacos, side & soda for $ 9.95. Parking is paid, street or lot across from the resto. Great spot!

Best taco spot in midtown! The chicken veracurzana was my favorite. All the ingredients are super fresh and I loved the rreal salad dressing. Great combo prices too.

My bf and I have eaten here twice. Both times we got the combo which is two tacos, a side and a soda for 9.99. Pretty good deal if u ask me. The last time I had the fried avacado and it was amazing… This is not your normal tacos either. It’s meat and some slaw. Still super tasty. U can add other toppings of u want.

RReal Tacos is a casual taco joint that opened in Midtown on December 16, 2015. It’s pronounced«Ree-AL» and is taken from the chef/owner Adrian Villarreal’s last name. I think this restaurant is okay. The tacos are tasty and service is friendly. The restaurant is located on the ground level of the SkyHouse high-rise apartments. There are a few free parking options: 1. There’s a nice surface lot right next to the restaurant. This is the simplest and most convenient option. Spaces are limited, however. 2. You can park in SkyHouse’s parking deck, accessible via Juniper St between 7th and 6th. RReal Tacos validates parking in this deck for up to 1 hour. Since Juniper is one-way, you may have to circle around to get to this deck. 3. You can street park on Juniper from 9:30am to 3:30pm. These hours are subject to change, so be sure to read and obey the parking signs. This place is set up like a fast-casual restaurant. Stand in line, order, and pay upfront, and orders are served to your table. The interior is modern and fairly spacious with a colorful(orange and green), festive theme. There’s a bar, open kitchen, tables, booths, and long picnic-table-style communal seating. I guesstimate the dining room can seat about 60 comfortably. Behind the counter, they have a rotating spit or trompo with layers of marinated pork. This pork is in the first taco on their menu, the Pork Trompo taco. All tacos are $ 2.99 each. Here’s what they have: * Pork Trompo * Pork Carnitas * Adobo Grilled Chicken * Chicken a la Veracruzana * Marinated Grilled Beef * Beef Barbacoa * Fish * Veggie I’ve tried 5 of the 8 tacos: the Pork Trompo, Pork Carnitas, Adobo Grilled Chicken, Marinated Grilled Beef, and Beef Barbacoa. They’re all about equally good to me. If I had to choose a favorite, the Pork Trompo would win. The meat was soft, moist, and flavorful. A close second would be the Marinated Grilled Beef. A bit fatty, but the medium rare slices of steak were tender and quite tasty. All tacos are served on corn tortillas with chopped cilantro and white onion with lime wedges and salsa on the side. They have two kinds of salsa, red and green. Try them both to see which one you like. The restaurant uses high quality ingredients such as organic vegetables and Brasstown beef. Of the 5 tacos, I noticed the Beef Barbacoa was the only one to have two tortillas. I’m not sure if that’s by design. I know some tacos are intended to be served with dual-layer tortillas. The meat portions were generous. The Pork Carnitas were smoky and chewy. Nice flavor. The chunks of Adobo Chicken were lean and filling. This taco had the least flavor of the ones I tried, but nothing a little salsa couldn’t fix. Like the carnitas, the Beef Barbacoa was chewy and had an appetizing, strong, beefy flavor. You can get a combo: two tacos, a side, and a drink for $ 9.95. Individually, most sides and desserts cost $ 3.50 to $ 3.75 each and drinks cost $ 2.00 to $ 3.00 each. They have Mexican Coke, Mexican coffee, and, like other Hispanic restaurants, agua frescas(horchata, jamaica, tamarind). Their agua frescas are all-natural and made from scratch. I wish the agua frescas were included in the combo. Sides I’ve tried include: * Fideos Secos a la Mexicana($ 3.50) — traditional Mexican short pasta stewed in tomato and chipotle, topped with pico de gallo and crema * Crisp Avocado($ 3.75) — gluten-free breaded fried avocado with house salsa * Empanada de Trompo($ 3.75) — dough turnover stuffed with pork trompo, adobo, and queso fresco The sides were alright. The pasta was very tomatoey. It actually reminded me of spaghetti with tomato sauce. The Crisp Avocado was exactly that. The breading was thicker than I expected. Not bad, but I think I like raw avocado better. The baked empanada dough was thick and crisp, much like a traditional American pie crust. The meaty filling was savory enough. Quick service. TL;DR — There aren’t a whole lot of places to get tacos in Midtown. I think RReal Tacos is one of the better options. I give them 3.5 stars rounded down to 3(«A-OK»).

The Tacos here are like midtown hookups… quick and clean. They’re not memorable, but you won’t necessarily regret them either. And if you wanted a real latina, you’d go elsewhere. I’d recommend the shredded steak.

Listening to Cheryl Lynn’s Got to Be Real and decided during Streets Alive to check out RReal Tacos. Cute décor. It’s down 6th street off Peachtree. Got the Veracusana Chicken and Fish Taco on «homemade» corn tortilla. It looked like the regular corn tortilla. Both tacos come with slaw, Florida tomatoes and sliced radishes. It was all rather bland to me. I like a lot of heat OR spice or both. This had neither. I’m too old to say Meh without laughing, but… It got points for really friendly service, location and décor.

This place is overall good food fair pricing and abundant seating. Maybe because I hail from a more expensive foodie city ?? Not sure but I think $ 10 for two tacos and a side with bottled water is a very fair price(I see some have complained too expensive). Barbacoa was good loved it tender and well spiced carnitas were ok definitely traditional taste but over saturated in oil couldn’t really eat the tortilla with it because it was a soggy mess. Some toppings are free like tomato and cabbage and you get a creamy salsa with. The fried avocado was a bit strange don’t believe I’d get it again. I think they left the skins on so it had a bitter taste and the breading deeply overpowered the fruit. I’ve had fried avocado before but more of a tempura so maybe I just wasn’t expecting it. My friend had the side of retried beans and we both thought they were delicious! Would definitely go back again maybe try different tacos and sides.

Everything I read was true. Was going to try the grilled fish taco, then noticed it came skin on, so I passed. I got the adobo chicken and marinated steak. Added extra guac, queso fresco, and opted for flour tortillas with salsa verde. AMAZING!!! Will be here often.

Over priced. $ 10 for two ‘ok’ tacos, drink and a side. The side salad was good. Beware of up charges on the type of taco you buy. Meat taco was very dry.

Very authentic baja style street tacos. If you’re looking for a froo froo, designer guacamole, topped with goat cheese type of taco, this is not your place nor are you eating Mexican tacos. I had the pork trombo and grilled beef tacos. They were well-marinated, perfectly cooked, topped with only cilantro and onions(as a real taco should be dressed), all within a homemade corn tortilla. You also have a choice of red and green salsas. Very Delish! There is a lot of nice seating within a neo-industrial setting, a.k.a. a hipster magnet, but don’t hold the lion against this place. The tacos are legit!

So I just left there with my friends. I got the fish tacos on a whole wheat tortilla which the flavoring of the fish was very bland and had a fishy after taste… But the vegan bean soup was a different story. The soup wasn’t to salty or oily it was natural tasting. Along with the sweet potato which was crispy on the outside and so soft in the inside!!! The service how ever was WEIRD! The two guys up front messed up our order and forgot to bring out the sweet potato(I had to remind him) and my friends avocado side. We stayed to talk for a bit after we were done eating and the employees kept coming to pick up plates and basically made us feel like they wanted us to leave. All in all my food was good but wasn’t enough for me to go back again.

Justin told me about this place way before they opened and I was pumped to try it. I used #seisdemayo as an excuse to eat tacos all day so we came here for lunch. We tried a couple of different tacos: Chicken, Beef, Pork, and Fish. They were all okay, but none of them really stood out and I actually didn’t like the fish taco. The pork empanda was pretty amazing though so I would recommend that. I kind of like the bright colors on the walls and the atmosphere and I know that it is a farm-to-table type of place. I do want to give it another try some time, but for now it didn’t impress me yet. It was okay and I liked it, but it didn’t wow me.

In less then 120 characters– this place is authentic Mexican –made with fresh ingredients– this is my third time to this venue. Now I don’t have to go to Buford Hwy or outside the City of Atlanta to get good Mexican food(Tacos, Tortas etc.)

I had dinner at RReal Tacos with a group of friends and selected the combo which included two tacos plus side and drink. For my tacos I ordered the marinated grilled beef taco and the beef barbacoa taco. While both tacos were tasty, I preferred the marinated grilled beef; the flavor was more substantial and I thought how delicious it would be as a stand-alone item. My side item was the sweet potatoes with queso fresco. Although I’m a cheese lover I never thought of adding cheese to sweet potatoes and that was a mistake on my part as these were the tastiest things I ate. I tried two of the agua frescas — the horchata and the pineapple/cilantro. The horchata tasted fine but was more of something I’d pour over ice cream for a float; the person explaining it to me compared it to egg nog and while it’s not that thick it’s definitely a sweet, creamy drink. The pineapple/cilantro was a bit more to my taste — citrus and spice; I liked it. The only downside to the food experience was the taco falling apart in the middle fairly quickly, so I had to eat them with a fork. Another friend mentioned this and was told that she could order a second tortilla to keep that from happening(no extra charge for the additional tortilla!) I was lucky enough to get a parking space in the small lot in front of the building, but you can park in the Skyhouse apartments garage next door(RReal validates an hour in the parking garage) and there is a pay lot across the street as well as street parking. Overall, I think RReal Tacos would be a good place for lunch based on the portion sizes, and once they have their liquor license a great after work spot for a cocktail and a quick snack. It’s Tuesday. I wanted some tacos. So why not give this place a chance??? Located right off Peachtree and 6th(between Peachtree and Juniper), I was able to find parking further down a residential street(it was nice out so why not take a little stroll) but my friend found parking in the deck and apparently they validate so that’s a winner. Very causal place. I realllllly loved the vibrant colors, the artwork, the fact that there was soooo much direct sunlight, and I must’ve lucked up because there wasn’t a soul in the place which made my visit that much better. You can get two tacos, a side, and a drink for $ 10 and just make sure you add the toppings. I had a fish taco and a barbacoa taco which came on a corn tortilla(the other tortilla options are extra). Now there’s bones in the fish taco so just be careful but both tacos were reallllly good and just full of flavor and tenderness. I had an empanada as a side and I couldn’t tell you what was in it but it was good too. The only thing I didn’t care for was the guy who came to our table every 5 mins to ask if we were done eating and wanted to take our trays but it was quiet in there so maybe he was bored or just really wanted the place to stay clean. Otherwise a really good first impression.

Very nice space, plenty of good seating. Order at the counter on the right, they’ll bring the food to you. Get the house-made tortillas(25 cents extra). Barbacoa taco — very good, lots of tender meat, probably could use salsa/topping of some kind. Trompo taco — also very good, also lots of meat, this one is good as-is. Fish taco — OK, but definitely needs something to kick it up. If I order this again, I’ll buy one or two of the extra toppings, such as coyote slaw and pico. Crispy(fried) avocado — very tasty and quite interesting. $ 15 for all the above, with a soda. Good experience at the counter. The guy was friendly and helpful. They offer choices of sauce for both the tacos and the fried avocado, and you can buy extra salsas and toppings for 50 cents each. I’m not sure what I got with the avocado, but for the tacos I ordered red/adobo sauce. Neither was exactly what I wanted, so I’ll probably try some of the extra toppings next time. I think it would be better to have a serve yourself salsa bar but maybe I’m spoiled by some of the taquerias in town. There’s a tray station at the door if you want to self-bus but someone did that for me before I left. Liquor license pending. During weekday lunch, you can find street parking in many places. I parked a couple blocks east in the neighborhood(free and easy). The six pay spaces on the street directly outside the restaurant were all empty on a Friday at 11:30. They also validate an hours’ parking in the Juniper St deck(between 6th and 7th). Recommended.

«I brought tacos.» — Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Season 1, Episode 21 I’m always thrilled when a new place comes into Midtown and so when Kristin B. set up a UYE here, I was really excited to check it out with friends. We came in at 7pm on a Tuesday night it was slammed packed. Apparently, there was a huge meet up happening and they were taking up one entire side of the restaurant — Sky-something. Anyway, I’m happy to say that it did not effect the service at all. There was an open 6-person high top table, so the first 2 of us to arrive snagged it immediately. Luckily, it was away from the fray. Since this is a walk up, order, go sit with your number kind of place, this was an easy thing to do. I decided to go with the $ 9.95 combo — really an excellent deal — 2 tacos, a side item and a soda. When I saw that they had Mexican Cokes and Sprites, this really sold it for me. But since I could decide among 3 of the tacos, I decided to add an additional taco on top of my combo. When in Rreal… Pork Carnitas: slow cooked porks, then crisped and shredded. I don’t know about the crisped, but this was juicy and delicious. It was seasoned, but could have used a bit more. The juiciness sold me, but it needed the salsa roja more than my other tacos. Barbacoa: I loved this. Cooked for 12 hours with oregano and garlic — spot on. It didn’t need the salsa roja, but it certainly enhanced it. Veggie: Hello my new love — fried avocado(one piece because it is huge) and a purée of refried beans. Again, it didn’t need the salsa roja because the creaminess of the avocado is what this taco is all about, but if you want a punch, add the salsa. Salt Potatoes: This was so good, I cannot explain it. Steamed tiny yukon potatoes, with a salty punch on the outside. You have a choice of sauces to dip in(I opted for the adobo) and I couldn’t get enough. It was like eating little mashed potato balls with a mustardy, tomatoey sauce… not sure how else to explain them. Mexican Sprite: Always a fave — real cane sugar. Not as bubbly as what you buy in the stores here. And I gave up sodas 15 years ago. Salsa Roja: Not for the faint of taste buds. Spicy, creamy, rich, kick you in the pants delicious. I ate half of each taco without and then added it. A definite winner. Overall the food was good, solid. 3.5 stars. The corn tortillas fell apart pretty easily — I did miss that I could pay 25 cents extra to get homemade(dammit) — I wish that had been offered but the guy at the register as I now see it on the menu, but it wasn’t super obvious. Hopefully those don’t fall apart so easily? Service was nice, a young man came to the table a few times to check on us and clear trays. He was quite attentive and I was glad I had given a nice tip when I paid. It’s crazy loud in here with the super high ceilings and nothing in the place to absorb any sounds. The huge group probably didn’t help this at all. I would definitely come back here, and probably often.

Rreal Tacos is A-OK and that’s A-OK! Midtown needs more solid spots like this that serve up a quick and relatively healthy meal. I wish I could award a 3.5 stars, because that’s exactly where they are for me. They were surprisingly slammed for a Tuesday night(looked like maybe a corporate happy hour?), but we barely had to wait in line to order and easily found a hightop for our party of five. The $ 9.95 combo was the hot seller of the night, and it’s easy to see why as it includes two tacos, a side, and a drink. You also get your choice of red or green salsa. For my combo, I went with: Pork Trompo Taco: Seasoned spit roasted pork was shaved onto this taco. The meat was tasty, and reminded me of the Buford Highway spots I usually frequent(in a good way). Fish Taco: I was sooooo excited to see a grilled fish taco on the menu since most places fry them. Sadly, my fish was cold and kind of bland. Just OK. Crispy Avocado: Um, yum! This was the highlight of my meal by far. Who knew that avocados could taste so otherworldy good when deep fried? I would love to try this on their veggie taco next time. I paid for the upgrade to the housemade corn tortillas(25 cents per taco), and they were good. It’s worth trying at least one of your tacos this way. Service was speedy, very friendly, and eager to make recommendations when asked. They don’t have their liquor license yet, so it’s BYOB for now, but I could see the whole experience improved greatly with a margarita. I live in the neighborhood, so I can see myself popping by in the future, but I’m not sure it’s worth the drive from other spots of town.

Their Tacos are AMAZING! The sides are authentic, creative, and delicious. They have beautiful artwork on the walls, eclectic takes on Mexican wrestlers, which you can buy from the artist. Soon they’ll have their liquor license and a full bar. The staff is very friendly, and the chef is usually available to tell you the history behind the menu. Get here before the word gets out and it becomes too popular!
